Harris' Restaurant - The San Francisco Steakhouse: what do users think?

California Computer Consultants: A little older of a review. We went there in November of 2023 for my moms bday. We act have been coming to his location for a while but first review for the place. I see some of the poor reviews but this was not our experience at all. Yes.. The place is extremely pricey.... But the meal was excellent. The waitress we had was spot on. The support staff had my water glass filled, bread restocked and butter freshened without out as so much as a glance at the staff. They were just on it for us. The steak I had was the petite filet and is was cooked to perfection. Medium rare, simply seasoned, and tender to the point it would fall apart in your mouth without out aggressive chewing it. Excellent wine selection, recommendations from staff on pairings were spot on and my wine snob of a wife was thoroughly impressed. That particular night there was a band playing at the perfect volume. My jerk of kids even seemed to know the place was something special because they even managed to behave that night. Just a spot on experience and one of our go to places for special occasions.

Michael Chang: We had an amazing meal at Harris'. The A5 Wagyu and bone-in ribeye were delicious. Despite not being as tender or rich as the A5, the ribeye more than held its own. The A5 was incredibly soft and the star of the meal.We added crab cakes and a spinach walnut salad to complete the meal.Service was extremely attentive and friendly.Truly a meal I won't forget.

Lulu Shi: We recently celebrated my husband's and his triplet brother’s birthday at this exquisite restaurant, and it truly exceeded all our expectations! From the moment we stepped in, we were captivated by the beautiful, clean, and cozy ambiance that enveloped us. The warm and inviting atmosphere set the perfect tone for a memorable evening.Let's talk about the food - it was nothing short of spectacular! Every bite, from the freshly baked bread to the succulent steaks and heavenly desserts, was a culinary delight. The attention to detail in each dish was evident, showcasing the chef's dedication to perfection. We left the table with our taste buds dancing and our hearts full. However, what truly set this place apart was the impeccable service provided by the staff. They were not just attentive and professional, but they also went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic dining experience. Their genuine warmth and hospitality made us feel like valued guests throughout the evening. And let's not forget the music - it was the cherry on top of an already perfect evening. The beautiful melodies added an extra layer of charm to the ambiance, creating a truly magical atmosphere that enhanced our dining experience.

Paul Olive: Best steakhouse in San Francisco, the food the service is second to none there is no comparison to harris, the thick dry age porterhouse was exceptional, the prime New York was full of flavor and so tender, the lamb Colorado lamb chops the best I ever had at any restaurant, all the sides delicious, veggies perfectly cooked firm to the bite, thank you harris staff for a night to remember, cheers

Tammy Foxx: What happened to fine dining with a dress code? The food was very good. Our server, Lucy, was phenomenal!!!HOWEVER, we walked in the door and the first thing we saw were delivery drivers wearing helmets. Then we were seated in the beautiful dining room surrounded by people wearing torn jeans, t-shirts and sneakers.I’ve always wanted to come to your restaurant So our friend saved up to bring us for our anniversary. We got dressed up, because that’s what you do.It’s a shame that Harris has lowered its standards. Don’t be like the rest of SF. 😱

T.J. Sevilla: , and it was a good medium rare and was tender, though I believe it could have been softer. The vegetables were not too bad, just lacking a bit of flavor, while the scalloped potato was probably the star of the show. The dessert was great too, the baked alaska and the creme brulee were very delicious. Overall pretty good.

Stacy Sanborn: , aged beef and lamb chop. It was also served with asparagus and au gratin potatoes. There were several servers making the rounds to make sure drinks and bread were topped off. All were friendly. You must be prepared to drop some serious money here if you come.

House of Prime Rib: what do users think?

Kimberli Hiller: Hands down the best meal of my life. The service was impeccable, they took my food allergy into account and I was served an excellent meal. For the price, your meal includes the creamed spinach, potato of your choice, salad, Yorkshire pudding, and then the prime rib itself with all the accoutrement. 10/10, make a reservation if you can but be warned they book out several months in advance. We walked in, put our name on the waitlist, and were seated about 1.5 hours after getting there. Worth every minute of wait time.

Alexander's Steakhouse: what do users think?

Alex Jo: enough to smother the natural taste of underlying ingredients.Overall very salty despite our request.

Dllm Dllmm: Love the service. Group of us came and ordered. Corkage was 50 per bottle for 1st 2 bottles and then 100 there after.Oysters felt a little steep but the steak was awesome. Had the aged porterhouse and wet aged ribeye which was perfect.Winelist was great and had the Far Niente dolce for dessert.

IO Song: The mashed potatoes are so so so so so delicious. The meat was delicious and the atmosphere was nice, but the only downside was that it was a bit cold where we sat. It's not a place where the food comes out quickly, so it would be a good idea to order some drinks and appetizers. It might be a bit awkward if you go with people you don't have anything to talk to... The carbonara was really, really rich and delicious. Originally, I thought it was a noisy and exciting neighborhood, but after a year, the commercial district in the surrounding area died, so I felt like I was alone in a very quiet back neighborhood. It's not a dangerous neighborhood. Ah, that reminds me of mashed potatoes again.

Matthew Spaccarelli: This place was very interesting, the food was great. I ordered a ribeye, Caesar salad, bread and butter, and a soda. I was disappointed that they charge you for every soda that they bring you. The steak was cooked great, it was definitely prime. The view was awesome. It was very noisy inside. A lot of echoing. I would definitely hit this place up again. And if you're near it, you should give it a shot.

Hans Hiller: A Real steakhouse. Excellent cuts of local beef, very well prepared to order. Steaks n others are grill on wood fire.Vegetarian options: One vegan dishParking: Paid street parking is 1 to 2 blocks away

Osso Steakhouse: what do users think?

Jaye X: I landed in San Francisco and was completely famished and this place had a zero minute wait time. The service was so-so from our server, primarily because I’m not partial to indifferent mannerisms. However, the back wait staff was wonderful and so was the Maitre’D. The Hamachi dish I had was subpar to say the least, and I would not recommend it and sadly the Bronzino taste like burnt nothing. After sending both dishes back initially, I ordered the lobster and it was superlative! It was tender and delicious. The mac & cheese, prepped gratin style, is incredible. I think that alone probably helps you select your entrĂ©e choices. The Albariño with the lobster is an excellent pairing, and perhaps the Dungeness crab might be a great starter option. The seats are a win-win and chefs kiss for comfort.

Dan Sadaka: it still lacked flavor. It was a slow Sunday night so our waiter also doubled as the bartender. He was okay but lacked the polish of what you'd expect of a waiter from a high-end Steakhouse. On a positive note, the kitchen split our french onion soup into two cups which was nice of them. If I'm ever back in San Francisco looking for a steak dinner, I'm going to try Harris's.

Gessa Chang: 5 stars for the entire process of planning a dinner party for 12.Richard, the manager, was amazing, responsive, helpful, and on the day of dinner, he was short staffed that evening and waited on our Christmas dinner himself with his assistant. We appreciated his fast service, great suggestions, and dinner was delicious. If you're coming for steak, rib eye regular or dry aged rib eye, you're in for a treat. My pork chop was slightly overcooked, but the flavors were there. Their playlist for music was fun. We were jammin', and the room for large parties was perfect and huge, so everyone was comfortable and not stuck together.French onion soup was my favorite for the evening. They make their own bread there so every bite we extra good. Cheese bread was good really good, crab cakes were tiny but delicious, calamari was fried perfectly with good dipping sauces.Everyone loved their meal and was impressed. I really wish their desserts were better tasting. They were just OK. Richard did give them options for adding different sauces like chocolate or caramel instead of strawberry sauce for their cheesecake. Which was very accommodating. He was amazing, packed everyone's leftovers, and organized them so nicely. So everyone can finish their steaks for breakfast. This is a great place for dinner. Safe, clean, friendly, and delicious.

Chris Curry: Awesome restaurant. Excellent service. Great wine selection. Some really good entertainment. And the foood!! Look at the size of the prawns. I was not in the mood for steak so I had the swordfish. I know it’s tends to a thicker and dryer fish. But they cooked it perfectly and it was juicy inside. Definitely recommend. Included a pic of a KC strip. Everyone thought the food was amazing.

Paulo Lee: , and the preset menu for $90 - lobster bisque, fillet mignon, lobster tail, cheesey mash potatoes, carrots, green beans, and a chocolate torte. The preset menu items were all tasty, particularly the mashed potatoes, but failed to leave a lasting impression. More of a landmark, old timey, slow-paced restaurant than anything truly special. Service was professional, and friendly, however.

Bart Chang: This is perfect. It's a perfect steak. I would like to say that the sword is the fire, the fire is the fire.I was lucky to eat the best steak in a nice place while listening to soft jazz music. After receiving the steak, I took a deep breath, picked up the knife, and cut off a small portion of the end. When I tasted the cut meat with a fork before bringing it to my mouth and eating it, the smell of pepper and the meat was strong. The moment it touches your lips, an earthquake occurs in your head.quicklyThe meat that goes in melts on the tip of the tongue and disappears as if it were going into a blender. There is no time. Since I can't spend an indefinite amount of time eating soft meat, I keep using my knife and fork quickly like a factory machine. We ran without stopping until the end and finished all the meals. It's only about 10 minutes. However, my lingering feelings continue to last two days as I write this review.

Niku Steakhouse: what do users think?

Jan Vincent: This was my second visit to Niku and once again it did not disappoint. Realistically the only disappointment is just how expensive things are, but this is true of San Francisco in general. Either way, dining at Niku is always fulfilling and I certainly enjoy sitting at the chef's counter. Being able to interact with the chef and ask questions is worth the visit alone. The food here honestly comes second to that level of access for me.The food itself was delicious and on this visit I decided to skip the traditional steaks and had the short rib. I slightly regret this decision as the short rib, while it tasted great, was super rich and did not give me that satiated feeling I was looking for. I would still order it again in the future. Fortunately the other dishes I ordered helped me reach that fulfillment I was seeking. The best part about dining at Niku is the service. Every single person working in this restaurant is welcoming, warm, and very personable. They were all very easy to talk to and did not come off as pretentious like in some other high end restaurants. The people and the service they provided are why I came back and will continue to come back. There is a caveat however to eating at the Chef's counter. It's very tight sitting there and you are definitely having dinner with the other guests sitting beside you. If you are ok with literally sitting shoulder to shoulder with strangers then you will enjoy this experience. However, if you want a more intimate setting then skip the counter.

Geneva Steak: what do users think?

k s: I am a tourist from Japan. The best steak house in the city. reasonable, delicious, friendly, long history.I feel America so much.

Missie Jae: Been coming to this place since I was a kid. Food is just as delicious today as it was back in the 80's when I used to come here with my parents. The NY steak & the yellow rice...can't beat it. This place will ALWAYS be a hometown favorite.Parking: Parking is really sketchy. I suggest not going alone for pick up. Have someone with you so one can hop out & get the food & the other can bend the block while you get it. If you're dining in...good luck. There's a parking lot around back if you prefer to dine in but it's a coin toss if it's open or not & if it's open @ its dark outside hopefully you're not alone cuz it can be a scary walk.

James From: Great no frills steak house in the neighborhood.Very simple but to the point menu.Asked for a very rare steak, came through and was well seasoned and of good quality.2 steak meals with beer is $60, which is a great value!Interior design is humble and welcoming. Feels like you are transported to a movie set in the early 70s or 80s.My only notes: drafts appear to be misaligned. Beer tasted a little flat.Would definitely come here again, and recommend others to try it too.

Salvadorian: Right on the corner of Mission and Geneva I found Geneva Steak. I walked into the dining room and looking at the seating reminded me of a classic restaurant with red leather booths all around. I look at the menu on the wall and went for the French Burger, the order included a green salad and my choice of baked potato or rice pilaf. The burger was cooked fresh to order and while my order was being prepared I started with the salad, fresh iceberg lettuce, sliced carrots, red onions, peppers, tomatoes and ranch dressing, the French Burger came soon after, the plate was served by the Chef, a rectangular large bun that was soft and expertly toasted on the grill, usual burger setup, and the baked potato was split in half with melted butter on top. I was happy with the quality of the ingredients definitely a bargain for $13.99. The restaurant specializes on steaks, kabobs and bbq chicken. They have a selection of soft drinks, beers on tap, bottle beer. The place was clean and nice service all around.

Cenk Oguz Saglam: Super friendly, convenient, and affordable.

McCormick & Kuleto's Seafood & Steaks: what do users think?

Taha Zaidi: A great place for seafood with an amazing view of the cove and the bay in the distance especially if there's a good sunset. The ambience is perfect for a relaxing evening. I went here with colleagues and had their Singapore prawns and Miso Sea Bass. Both were delicious and the server was very attentive throughout. Would recommend.Parking: There's street parking in the adjoining area.

Chloe W: This was our first dinner stop after arriving on our honeymoon, and it did not disappoint! We ate until we nearly burst, which we don't recommend, but we absolutely do recommend coming to McCormick & Kuleto's Seafood & Steaks! The food was incredible! We both had the A5 wagyu skewers to start, and the wagyu simply melted in your mouth - so good! Then we both had a 22oz prime cowboy ribeye, and being the steak lovers that we are, both our steaks were cooked to perfection! Unsurprisingly there was no room for dessert but the selection looked incredible. Definitely check this place out if you're in San Francisco!

Travis Wise: Great Food. Great Service!

v l: Beautiful very family oriented restaurant. Very layed back atmosphere. At 5 pm. We watched the billowing rolling fog rolling in to the bay! It was absolutely beautiful! Our waitress was so very kind too! 5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ pictures I added was from our view @ the restaurant.Wheelchair accessibility: I'm not sure if there's a ramp as we walked upstairs to the entrance & beyond walking up was another flight of stairs leading down that meets the entry for this restaurant's entry point. Good question!?

bartika dutta: When we entered this eatery, the morning light glittered through its windows. We were promptly shown our table, and the VIEW! The clam chowder was rich and filling, and not sludgy at all. The stuffed salmon was loaded with cheese and savory spices, and the grilled chicken sandwich was zesty! The red snapper was mild, unique, and delicious. The view enhanced everything. The servers were very friendly.

YEGANA GURBANOVA: Fantastic views! The crab and shrimp were fresh. The price was very good for such a great quality experience. The parking is not cheap, but it is San Francisco. You have to be ready for it. You don’t need lost time to find safe park.do not leave any valuables visible in the car because someone will break your window. But free parking for customers 😀👍Great view, great food. Nice service! Also my friend celebrated her engagement here. Everything was perfect 👍Parking: Free parking for customers.

lcat A: Great patio but opted to dine in since it was really windy. Octopus was especially good. Drinks were repeatable and so was the experience. A nice casual take on the classic steakhouse.

Aram Shahinfard: I don’t know if it was the fact that we have not been to a restaurant for over a year or if the food was actually really good. I think it was the food. We loved everything we ordered. Steak, sea bass, charcuterie board, dessert. Staff were very professional and friendly. Will go back for sure.

Shirley Lee: We came for drinks and appetizers and had a great time! Really friendly service, great wine and the a5 wagyu charcuterie was delicious!

The Brazen Head: what do users think?

Yrasema Huston: We changed our dinner plans at the last Minute..due to The recommendation of our Fellow hotel Guest. This restaurant is enough off the beaten path to cater to locals and visitors alike. Our Waiter, Andrew, was very attentive and informative. Top notch in my opinion.I ordered the prime rib and it came exactly how I ordered it. And the accompanying horseradish sauces, etc. are fresh made from local vendors!Additionally, my girlfriend Ana ordered lobster ravioli
Her favorite and she said it was one of the best as she has had. My hat is off to this local restaurant, and the Paris quality, food and service that has been second to none In all my visits to San Francisco.

MSYK MSN: I decided on this restaurant because I wanted to enjoy delicious meat for dinner in the city, even if it wasn't the highest quality restaurant.Unfortunately, they didn't accept reservations, so I decided to go a little later than 8 o'clock. It was a rainy Thursday night, so I went there expecting it to not be too crowded. The shop was located in a quiet area, but once inside, the shop, which was not very large, was crowded with people. The atmosphere is like a lounge with red lighting. When I asked at the entrance, I was told it would be a 30 minute wait, so I decided to have a drink at the bar inside. However, after my drink came and I took a sip, the table was ready.I ordered prime rib. I thought about ordering an appetizer to share, but I decided to pass on it this time because I didn't want to get too full. The meat was very tender and delicious, and I'm glad I chose just the right amount! It was delicious with a glass of red wine.I was able to enjoy a good meal in the lively atmosphere inside the restaurant. It was a store that made me want to go back again.

Izzy's Steakhouse: what do users think?

Becky Edens: The skirt steak house sauce tasted like teriyaki, and the steak was chewy. Creamed spinich was the real winner!Kid-friendliness: Have a list of about 4 things for your little one to choose from. They do offer high chairs, but this isn't a crayon and kids menu kind of place.

Yol M: Food was good, service was good, just didn’t like the idea of seating too close to the other tables and the acoustics made it feel like the conversations were really loud and noisy. Overall I enjoyed the steak, the was it was made and marinated. The sides were also well made and tasty. The taste of salmon with a little tangy salsa was so balanced as well. 💕

Lana Loper: A special birthday party hosted by Adam! Staff was accommodating our party of 7 refilling our champagne glasses & serving his homemade chocolate cake as we celebrated into the night outside under the stars. I hear a remodel is happening soon...

Brian Rogers: and it didn’t disappoint. We ordered the drunken prawns as a starter and it was buttery and delicious. I ordered the prime rib and my wife ordered the filet mignon. We both ordered the creamed spinach and the new potatoes. Everything was very good. The creamed spinach reminded me of a really good spinach artichoke dip of sorts. Our waiter Renaud was very nice and attentive. We will definitely come back next time we make it to San Francisco.

Original Joe's: what do users think?

Christopher Chung: stand welcoming you upon stepping in.A historic San Francisco gem. Spaghetti and Meatballs, on point. Wedge salad

L Lee: , and the Spaghetti bolognese. TheCrab cocktail fell short. It had napkin pieces in it and was quickly replaced. The ribeye steak off dinner menu had good flavor, and cooked to perfection was not as tender. The cut was not Costco tender for $55.00 each. For got to mention Caesars salad was delish.Did I mention Nick👍👍👍. I would definitely recommend experiencing Original Joe's in beautiful North Beach. All drinks were delish too.Parking: Parking was expensive, $30 flat fee. There was no street parking as the Italian festival was happening and there were tons of people and good music.

Josue Ortiz: The best restaurant I tried in San Francisco! All the people serve you in an unbeatable way! From the moment you arrive, the girls at the reception are smiling and friendly, the waiters are always attentive if there is no water and ask if you need anything else. A special mention to the treatment of chef Guillermo for his personalized attention

Ralph Wark: and great food, highly recommend the calamari and hamburger. The staff was very pleasant too, efficient and attentive.

Steve Heard: One of my favorite spots in San Francisco. Never had a bad meal or bad service. They are consistently good. Several different dining rooms, including a counter, hidden in the back. My favorite place to hang out is in the spacious bar, if I can get a seat by the fireplace. Great, cozy, spot for people watching, having a drink, and the full menu is served as well. Reasonable prices, good food, friendly servers.
