Dr Scu: I almost don’t want to tell you about how good the sushi is here. Fish so fresh you’d think we’re by the port. And the baked muscles…. A must try. They literally melt in your mouth. & I have not had friendlier, more welcoming service anywhere…. Not to mention the lower east-side NY vibe inside. This is how a neighborhood sushi joint should be. Thank you for some of the best bites around.

Michael Tal: I'm sure i rated sushi zone in the past, but being away for so long and seeing how sad most of the city looks, places are shut down and these that are still in business offers very little quality for crazy high prices and then there is this little piece of heaven, taste like the old days, prices have gone up very moderately for incredible new experience of sitting outside and enjoying this magic sushi, better yet, magic food all together with the nicest management and ownership, it is so important to have these little gems to make you feel like it's not all lost..Wheelchair accessibility: Though it seemed harder at the old days when they had only indoor sitting and it was so crowded, now with the outdoor option, it seems more comfortable

DYJ1948: Quiet and small but neat restaurant on Taravel Street with excellent service and great food. We had four people and went for the ayce which was $38 per person for 90 minutes. We had the vegetarian miso and the roast beef with mild spice. But the roast beef was still very spicy. With the ayce, we got free two oysters each which were fresh! For the meats. The American waygu was superb as was the ribeye and the chicken. The pork belly was disappointing but the lamb was delicious. The vegetables were substantial and very fresh. The service was excellent and the staff brought more meat anytime we requested it and cleared our used dishes constantly. The also refilled our soup frequently. We’ll be back!

Cindy Hanisko: This is an amazing experience. I was taken here as a birthday gift. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. It was a wonderful experience. All of the food was prepared with respect to the ingredients. They served a variety of choice meats and seafood and great quality of produce. It was a great privilege to find here. I recommend the AYCE. My only regret is that I couldn't stay longer and eat more. I would definitely return.

M Wong: ; the higher price is for unlimited portions. The service was excellent in that the staff was very attentive! We got double helpings of their dessert! Both the ice cream and coconut milk with jelly were excellent. Desserts were included with the higher priced meal

norris tran: I love Kufu-ya! The food is always fresh and delicious, and the service is excellent.I typically lean towards the Sushi and the AYCE hot pot which is both filling & more affordable than most other shabu spots, making it a great value for the money. This was the first place I can remember that offered both Japanese cuisine and AYCE hot pot under one roof so they are an early trailblazer in this genre. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, making it a great place to go with friends or family since they are one of the more spacious restaurants in the area able handle large groups. I've also ordered catered sushi platters and have gotten many compliments for them at parties. Overall, I highly recommend Kufuya Japanese Restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and affordable Japanese meal or AYCE hot pot.

G. L.: Went there for dinner with the family. Refills were quick and they have the friendliest staff. Had the ayce option. Broth was a miso for half the party and spicy for the rest. If it's not spicy enough for your liking, just add additional spices on your table to the broth. They have a parking lot behind the restaurant. Big plus because parking can be a challenge at times. Only downer is that it's a little tight and they're staggered 2 deep. However, people are considerate and I've never found a ding or a dent yet.

Pierre Jean: This eatery is highly recommended. Fantastic hot pot buffet! The steak is really fresh and thin. The base of the hot miso broth is advised. Additionally, the dipping sauce is rather tasty.

Leonard Suguitan (Len): Ordered Chicken Katsu entree, and I enjoyed it. The portion size was great for one person, and I even had some leftovers. Entree comes with side salad 🥗, miso soup 🍲, and rice 🍚.My spouse got the beef & mushroom udon,, and the broth was good. The place is known for their hot pot, so maybe next visit I'll try it.They have a small parking lot where the layout is awkward, because you risk someone parking behind you and may be blocked in. I'm sure that the staff with ask the patrons to move the car if a car is trying to get out.I'd visit again to try the hot pot.

Elvis Guajardo: . the dipping sauce is so fire, its to die for. great vegetables and the staff is super friendly and informative! the sushi is also S tier.

Sergej Schumacher: Very good sushi.Prices are a bit high, but if you can watch the master do it directly, it's really nice. Service very attentive and friendly to provide information

Stephanie Sevadjian: . Recently tried the new HaRa roll from the changing list of featured rolls. I used to always get the Ox and Tiger from that list when it was offered, but I think I actually prefer the HaRa now. And if you’re not feeling like having rolls, highly recommend the uni, hotate, maguro, ikura

Jason Ross: Ozumo was a fantastic dining experience. Definitely pricey, but 💯 worth it. Great food, great atmosphere, and service.Kid-friendliness: I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for kids younger than tweens, because the food is unlikely to appeal to them.

Cho Lee: Ozumo is an exceptional restaurant that offers the best Japanese dining experience in San Francisco. If I were to describe my impression in one word, it would be "amazing."First and foremost, I must mention the quality of the food highly. The dishes I ordered were made with fresh ingredients and prepared using exquisite cooking techniques. The sushi, in particular, stood out with its remarkable freshness and deliciousness. I recommend the fatty tuna nigiri and the tempura shrimp.Furthermore, the service at Ozumo is outstanding. The staff is incredibly friendly and provided us with attentive hospitality tailored to our needs. They took the time to explain the dishes and offered suggestions for sake pairings. The ambiance of the restaurant is also exceptional. The modern interior design skill fully incorporates traditional Japanese elements, creating a serene atmosphere. At the counter seats, you can witness the skilled hands of the chefs and enjoy the experience of having fresh sushi prepared right in front of you.Overall, Ozumo is undoubtedly one of the finest Japanese restaurants in San Francisco. The quality of the food, the level of service, and the pleasant ambiance all contribute to an exceptional dining experience. I highly recommend visiting Ozumo. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also outstanding. The modern interior incorporates Japanese elements, creating a calm atmosphere. If you sit at the counter, you can watch the chef's work up close and enjoy fresh sushi right in front of your eyes.We hope that your desired translation will be helpful. Diego Marquez: the food 10/10 the fish super fresh, their fried chicken excellent, their shashimis the same, the tokayaki incredible and best of all the attention the waitress was super friendly and despite being alone and serving multiple tables as if she was Rosey from the jetsons she takes the time to practice with me my Japanese, super grateful with everything! 100 recommended!

Dave Mitchell: Oh my.. what a delightful find. A killer joint run by a couple Kumi and Mike.. some of the best service and sushi I've had in a long time. Kumi was slammed at the front of the house and crushed it all night. Chef Mike kept orders flowing without missing a beat! Food and service were exceptional especially for the price... I will be back! Update: we've been here 3x now and haven't been disappointed. Super solid Sushi!

GuruGovind: The fatty tuna makes me cry with joy each time

Alex: I'd give this place a 4.5 star if Google allowed me. I came by with a coworker for dinner this past Friday. We arrived at the restaurant a little after 6pm, and were a little surprised that the restaurant was fully empty. It was a rainy day, so that may have contributed. We got seated and ordered some miso soup, edamame, hot sake, the serious nigiri combination platter, and a black & white roll. The miso was alright, a tiny bit light on taste. The edamame was well boiled, with a generous sprinkling of salt on top. The nigiri platter contained 12 pieces, and the fish all tasted fresh. The roll was also well made, with Yellowtail and tempura shrimp.Overall, this was a nice little restaurant if you want a low key and quiet dinner, with good quality fish and well made rolls.

Cynthia Colas: This place is beautiful in every way and their sushi is super fresh; I would definitely recommend checking it out if you're looking for a quality sushi restaurant in San Francisco.

Lily: Probably one of the more creative in presentation ! This place is worth the visit. It had classic things like uni and chutoro/otoro/ salmon eggs. The wagyu was yummy. The reservation was easy not sure what the purpose of the 8pm vs 815 reservation is. I noticed that everyone at the omakase bar was eating at a different pace. Some that were served first end up being served last as the dinner progressed on.The dress code is semi causal, my bf wore jeans .The omakase here is interesting as there are 3 chefs and each of them will serve 2-3 couples. Unlike other omakase I have been to, this one is less informative. They do mentioned some of the cuts here and there. The interaction with the chef is minimal Towards the end, he will ask if you want more or less rice and if you want to order anything else.I would say out of the omakase places I have been to, this one has the most amount of food. Also loved that ther dessert isn't a sweet tamago nigri!

St Aubyn King: What an experience. I found this place after arriving in San Francisco with no dinner reservations. I was not aware of the cost of meal until after I was seated and had already ordered something to drink. I was like what the hell, but after taking a few deep breath and realized I may never experience this as I don't think I will be making it to Japan anytime soon. The service was awesome as they explained each dish, it was sometimes hard to understand what they were saying. All the dishes were delicious and fresh. I was almost full half way through, but made space as the food was so good. Would I do this again, maybe not because of the price, but was so glad for the experience

Jeff Wallace: This was one of the best dining experiences of my life. And I’m old! Everything about Kusakabe was excellent, everything. The restaurant was warm, friendly and inviting, like you were eating at a friend’s home. We had a great conversation with our chef, our server recommended some great sake and all 18 courses were spectacular.Highly recommended, put Kusakabe on your bucket list, you will not be disappointed.

Jason Eng: Wow. An incredible omakase experience! Had the 18-course dinner, sitting at the chefs counter and I could not be more impressed by the quality and creativity of the food presented! Each course was distinct, delicious, flavorful, and there was nothing “basic” or “common” that was served. My favorites were the chawan-mushi, otoro, uni on uni, Hokkaido scallop and uni, Kyoto-style pressed saba, kelp-cured flounder fin… and more!A few minor critiques: the wagu sukiyaki was tender and delicious, but tasted too sweet. The miso soup was overly salty. And the yuzu sorbet had nice flavor but was served hard like an ice cube.Would definitely return to dine again. Recommended.

Gino Diaz: It's really my first Omesake! We went with my wife to celebrate Valentine's Day ❤️; And well, I had already investigated the place: 🍣 🍣 🍣 with a Michelin star it sounds attractive!!! So let's go.We first had to make a reservation in advance...approximately 1 month. We arrived easily on foot and because we arrived punctually, they welcomed us cordially in Japanese. The traditional suchi bar in good wood finish and behind it; The different chefs are very busy preparing the different dishes. We opted for one of 19 that included dessert! We found the cost reasonable for a culinary experience that truly is a symphony of unique and sublime flavors for those who love suchi. The Omesake Master was present...supervising all the actions...which never stopped...because it was a parade of exquisite dishes...they were all spectacular, but there were always some that stood out the most. We prefer a light beer to Sake... and at the end of the agreement, we decided to try wagyu A5!! Don't miss it...and you will definitely repeat the experience. Saluti a tutti 😎.

Erica (EVLove11): , that dinner is a whole heck of a lot cheaper than buying an airplane ticket to Japan in order to find anything close to this authentic. And with the intimate, high diversity, fixed course experience that they serve, the price is a necessary to cover their costs of staff and low table turnover. If you are a sushi snob

S Wong: I had Hokkaido Chirashi at this restaurant. The seafood in the Chirashi bowl consisted of chopped scallop, a shrimp, salmon etc. Overall they were fresh. I was particularly impressed by the side items including the pickled vegetables, pickled salmon, and the tempura pumpkin slice, which was very delicious. This dish was a little bit pricy. Given the price, I expected more seafood in the Chirashi bowl.

Zhen Tang: Their Una Ten Donburi is incredibly delicious! The menu with pictures makes dining in super convenient. The waitress, a sweet lady, recommended the Una Ten Donburi, and I loved it! The eel melts in your mouth, and the tempura fried shrimp is so crispy, like biting into a croissant! Mixing the onsen egg into the rice doubles the deliciousness! The house salad was a bit salty, so I didn't finish it, but overall, it was a satisfying meal. Definitely recommend it to friends!
