Jason Ross: Ozumo was a fantastic dining experience. Definitely pricey, but 💯 worth it. Great food, great atmosphere, and service.Kid-friendliness: I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for kids younger than tweens, because the food is unlikely to appeal to them.

Cho Lee: Ozumo is an exceptional restaurant that offers the best Japanese dining experience in San Francisco. If I were to describe my impression in one word, it would be "amazing."First and foremost, I must mention the quality of the food highly. The dishes I ordered were made with fresh ingredients and prepared using exquisite cooking techniques. The sushi, in particular, stood out with its remarkable freshness and deliciousness. I recommend the fatty tuna nigiri and the tempura shrimp.Furthermore, the service at Ozumo is outstanding. The staff is incredibly friendly and provided us with attentive hospitality tailored to our needs. They took the time to explain the dishes and offered suggestions for sake pairings. The ambiance of the restaurant is also exceptional. The modern interior design skill fully incorporates traditional Japanese elements, creating a serene atmosphere. At the counter seats, you can witness the skilled hands of the chefs and enjoy the experience of having fresh sushi prepared right in front of you.Overall, Ozumo is undoubtedly one of the finest Japanese restaurants in San Francisco. The quality of the food, the level of service, and the pleasant ambiance all contribute to an exceptional dining experience. I highly recommend visiting Ozumo. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also outstanding. The modern interior incorporates Japanese elements, creating a calm atmosphere. If you sit at the counter, you can watch the chef's work up close and enjoy fresh sushi right in front of your eyes.We hope that your desired translation will be helpful. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Edward Lee: but like levels above The Handroll Project. Anyone that says Handroll Project is better, is more attracted to flashy novel ingredients than a focus on taste.

Isaiah Jackson: Cool, low-key concept with a great vibe. Handrolls come hot and fresh and the experience of one handroll at a time makes for a great time. Not for filling up to be super full but for enjoying time with friends over great small bites

Claudia K M: Saru Handroll provided a delightful dining experience with an array of handroll sushi options, including Fatty Tuna, Salmon, Shrimp Tempura, and Cucumber & Plum. The miso soup, edamame, and hot buckwheat tea complemented the meal perfectly in a stylish, modern setting.Noteworthy were the pre-meal wet tissue towels, a thoughtful touch for cleaning our hands after savoring the handroll sushi. However, it’s important to note that the set menu did not allow for substitutions. Minus one star off - as the sets have crab and shrimp; no sub-options available for people with seafood allergies.Despite this, Saru Handroll proved to be a charming spot suitable for various occasions, whether it’s a date night, girls’ night, or gathering with friends and family. I recommend it for both the flavors and the ambiance.

Melissa Dee: and we had a nice quick quiet dinner. The yellowtail was notable but everything was delicious.Pre-meal we were given hot hand towels and payment was quick and easy.

Grant Mitchell: Just like all the comments said, come here for the happy hour. It’s a great deal and the staff was so friendly and nice. You have to get the five dollar beers. Also, the dinner plates were very large portions!

bv 74353: Great neighborhood place. We are regulars here. Attentive and helpful service along with excellent food. They provide an atmosphere that is quite rare in food establishments in San Francisco; when you’re here you’re made to feel like you actually matter and are not simply a delivery platform for revenue.

Tristan V: This sushi spot is amazing! The sushi was made right in front of us and tasted very good. The place feels cozy and the people are very friendly. Definitely a top choice for anyone who loves good sushi. We were there during the happy hour 5:00-7:00, which offers lower prices on sushi. Highly recommend!Food: 5/5 …

Cody Smith: Tasty fish, generous portions, super friendly staff, and excellent selection. Really great to have them in the neighborhood

Ian Barber: Great sushi in generous portions from a super friendly and hospitable team. They accommodated our toddler easily and were really friendly throughout - we ate outdoors with the heat lamps. The Chive and Salmon dish pictured was fantastic, and we also had a nigiri omakase that had delicious selections, among other things! Definitely worth checking out.

J (X): Completely blown away by portion and pricing for their burrito. Quality is immaculate as well, randomly ordered off DoorDash and was completely floored. Will order again many a times!

Awilda Rosario: Amazing food. Ordered delivery and blown away. The bowls are great with lots of yummy fish and the munchie roll is so large it doesn’t fit in your mouth. Def ordering again!

Dan Tat: and honey

Jacklyn Liu: Very delicious fresh seafood! I opted for the 16 piece omakase and there was so much food. They use caviar, truffle salt, olive oil, and more to create unique synergies. Will definitely come back for some of their unique looking rolls!

Sneha Vaswani: Amazing food, generous portions, attentive service and reasonable prices. This is sure to become one of my go to sushi spots. 😊

Stuart Olivera: Unique and delicious sushi rolls, great nigiri, nice service

Mitzie G: Amazing dishes hand prepared by the skilled, world class chef. The host was attentive with an extensive knowledge of the dishes, their preparation and ingredients’ sources. The setting was elegant and chic, decorated with taste and sophistication. I highly recommend this dining experience.Dietary restrictions: The chef was happy to accommodate my shellfish allergy.

Irina Malkova: I’ve never done omakase before, but I understand good food. This was very, very, very delicious.Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly

Wilbur Yu: was immensely fresh, and the creativity to their nigiris were astounding. One of the nigiri used grilled eggplant

Gerald Soo: Wonderful high-end Japanese omakase dinner. We dined inside a bubble. The only thing I'd suggest is to make the inside of the bubble brighter.

Nicholas Heutink: Great quality traditional sushi house. I recommend you try it.

Stephanie Hysek: Traditional style sushi that I’ve been trying to find for so long. No “crunchy”, no spicy mayo sauce, no deep fried frankenstein rolls for $17. Just really delicious nigiri and simple maki for a great price. Alcohol menu is lacking but they allow byob.

Allie Ferrey: Amazing food and very cheap. Will go as much as possible.

Ken J.: Make sure you call and make a reservation before you go!You order nigiri here, not some baked salmon rolls, it's a traditional authentic sushi restaurant; food, decor, serving style and all. Enjoy it as if you were in Japan.

Angela Lee: It was AMAZING!!! It had an authentic feel to the place and the sushi was amazing. I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend the halibut and yellowtail. The california roll includes real crab and its FANTASTIC!!

JD Ji (JD): great sushi great price

Camille B: So good and awesome prices

Charla Harlow: Delicious food. Not crowded.

Dan Cabrera: Fresh/delicious rolls, that's all I wanted, and they delivered. Thank you

Baglues -: The sushi here is really tasty compared to other sushi places that feel overpriced. The bus boy James was super nice to us and gave us great service. This place is definitely worth a detour if you want some fairly priced good sushi.

Heidi devilliers: . Don't expect any fried appetizers like gyoza, or ask for unagi sauce.....not that kind of place. But if you want fresh delicious sushi I recommend.I will definitely return.

Kat Roy: The Food was great! The fish was Fresh and the rolls had Real crab in them. They did not have real Wasabi and The rolls could be a bit larger. Quick Friendly service and tasty hot tea.Dine in: Yes Outdoor seating: Yes …

Maggie Furey: Delicious, fresh sushi. Great price point for quality.

Louis Imershein: Sushi is amazing, but pricey. This is that place where they season the fish to perfection and you don't need to drown it in soy sauce.

Sophia Hu: Wow! I’ve lived in San Francisco for two years and have always been looking for a great sushi spot that sells fresh fish at a reasonable price.I came here on a Tuesday evening with my two friends, and we got three rolls to share, hand rolls, and their daily special nigiri. Their hand rolls were perfectly done - warm rice and crispy seaweed. The nigiri was tasted like omakase quality. The price was $20-$40 each including tax and tip.Everything tasted so good and the service was excellent! The food came out very quickly and we left with smiles on our faces.5/5 experience, I’m definitely gonna make this a regular in my dinner rotation.

Chris Rebbert: . Daigo is delicious and greatly priced, with friendly staff. Can't wait until we can eat inside again!Dine in: Yes Outdoor seating: No Takeout: Yes Delivery: Yes Curbside pickup: Yes …

Drea: This is probably the most I’ve ever spent on myself for sushi, but words can not express the joy that took over when I placed that first piece of bluefin in my mouth….. dear lord. Attentive service, to die for freshness. So happy I made the detour.

Pejmon Shariat (Batman): Absolutely the best sushi I've had. The young sushi chef was so incredibly kind and nice and talked us through the omakase. Watching the chef work was incredible, and we were even shown the certificate for the wagyu beef. Truly an incredible experience, and the complimentary green tea cheese cake at the end was the best I've had

Laura Nornes: The sushi was so fresh and the servers were very attentive. The prices were great too for Sf. The only thing I didn’t love was how the nigiri was already seasoned with soy sauce and wasabi which was a little overpowering. Other than that, this place really exceeded my expectations! The miso soup was also very delicious.

Kali Norby: Amazing sushi place. Fish quality and selection was incredible. They make s bunch of Japanese classic dishes, standard rolls, and such, but fish selection like this is a thing of passion and not to be missed or covered up. They had a pretty impressive alcohol selection; they have a good number of Japanese beers on draft, more than I see elsewhere in the city. We have a new favorite!

Mary Jo Ricci: , all A+ flavor combos. Decided on the omakase and the deliciousness continued in a nicely-paced delivery of a variety of beautifully presented and seasoned fresh sushi and grill items that were just…just…perfect. Every one. The place is small, unpretentious and friendly, and being a few feet away from Chef Julio, he could see our table and took the initiative to portion each round so our group could easily share every item. Great selection of Japanese beer and sake, plus cocktails. A truly memorable evening.

Lacey Merryman: one of the head chefs, who served us some incredible rolls and some small bites to try on the house. The service here was incredible, I mentioned to Ethan what I normally like in a roll and he customized one special for me that was truly a work of art

S Wong: I had Hokkaido Chirashi at this restaurant. The seafood in the Chirashi bowl consisted of chopped scallop, a shrimp, salmon etc. Overall they were fresh. I was particularly impressed by the side items including the pickled vegetables, pickled salmon, and the tempura pumpkin slice, which was very delicious. This dish was a little bit pricy. Given the price, I expected more seafood in the Chirashi bowl.

Zhen Tang: Their Una Ten Donburi is incredibly delicious! The menu with pictures makes dining in super convenient. The waitress, a sweet lady, recommended the Una Ten Donburi, and I loved it! The eel melts in your mouth, and the tempura fried shrimp is so crispy, like biting into a croissant! Mixing the onsen egg into the rice doubles the deliciousness! The house salad was a bit salty, so I didn't finish it, but overall, it was a satisfying meal. Definitely recommend it to friends!

Doug Gordy: The food here is really good.... Like I was back in Japan good. The rice is done just right, slightly sticky without being overly starchy. Their lunch specials are worth the price. They have this ginger dressing on the salads that was fresh and very pleasing. You should get the gyoza if you get any appetizer. The unagi domburi was some of the best I have had. Recommend this place as a nice lunch stop.

Amy Higgins: Happy hour is amazing! Great prices on nigiri, rolls, and drinks until 6:30pm.We also ordered seafood sonomono which was HUGE!!! Great prices for everything. The best part is all their seafood is sustainably sourced.Dietary restrictions: They will make anything gluten free upon request.

Jay M (Shinoskay): Incredible, absolutely amazing. They even made sure I understood the substitute crab had some crab mixed in just in case I had an allergy. And the California roll is exceptional.Definitely worth it, even better on happy hour

Alex: I'd give this place a 4.5 star if Google allowed me. I came by with a coworker for dinner this past Friday. We arrived at the restaurant a little after 6pm, and were a little surprised that the restaurant was fully empty. It was a rainy day, so that may have contributed. We got seated and ordered some miso soup, edamame, hot sake, the serious nigiri combination platter, and a black & white roll. The miso was alright, a tiny bit light on taste. The edamame was well boiled, with a generous sprinkling of salt on top. The nigiri platter contained 12 pieces, and the fish all tasted fresh. The roll was also well made, with Yellowtail and tempura shrimp.Overall, this was a nice little restaurant if you want a low key and quiet dinner, with good quality fish and well made rolls.

Amy Tirion: Delicious! So fresh. Thoughtfully prepared. Be prepared to take your time. It's worth it.

Crypt Trader: An excellent place for relaxation and dinner. Soft jazz music, a cozy venue with a limited number of seats, European-style ambiance combined with Asian cuisine. Fresh fish, authentic Japanese soy sauce, sake, and outstanding dishes, all prepared with care. This charming place will recharge you after a challenging workday and bring a positive end to your day, providing a pleasant escape from the monotony of weekdays 👍🏻

Gay Chung: The Sushi master's hair has grayed along with ours but the excellence of the food remains unchanged since we discovered this neighborhood gem years ago.Pro tip: order off the daily specials white board. There are always new dishes to try.Tonight my favorite was the dynamite scallop roll - green bean tempura with scallions and avocado topped with exquisite scallop, thinly sliced jalapeños and chef's special sauce. Num. I wish I had room in my tummy for more.

Camila Vigdor: which makes dining in-person at sushi shio special.

Jean Tsou: We came here during lunch time. Tried 5 pcs and 8 pcs nigiri set. Each nigiri was well seasoned. It’s average quality not really impressed. However, salmon skin and okura dish it’s truly special. Refreshing and tasted just the right amount of seasoning. They offer variety of sake to choose from as well.Down side, not much of service but they added 20% tips automatically at the bill during lunch time. I truly think this is over priced.

Edison Huang: We came here for the handroll tasting but their website hasn't been updated.. so we ended up doing their regular testing instead. There were some interesting options thrown in. The nigiris felt a little short but we were happy they included uni. The restaurant is small so I recommend making a reservation so you're not stuck with their outdoor seating in the back.20% gratuity is automatically added bringing the total to $234.. not a terrible price given the area.. but definitely not the best value.Big shout-out to Josh who held on to the credit card I left behind!

Avishay Tal: Recommended dishes Yuzu Panna Cotta

toofat zh: Updated: The owner of the restaurant reached out with great manner and professional attitude, updating the review based on thatSuper disappointed. We had high hopes for the Valentine's Day dinner and we booked our reservation at 9:30pm a month ago. Arrived at the restaurant and found there were 10 people in front of us, and they all have reservations! Apparently the restaurant is very overbooked for today! WHY YOU HAVE THE RESERVATION SYSTEM IF YOU CAN'T MAKE SURE GUESTS CAN BE SEATED.The mood for the night has been ruined, let alone we spent 20+ minutes trying to find a parking spot on a rainy night!!!All I hope is they can refund my money back

Orlando Morales: I really like this sushi restaurant, it has a good location on one of the main avenues of San Francisco such as Valencia St. It does not have parking but if you are lucky you can park on the street, the place is very nice, it has that vibe of a modern restaurant and cozy, the service is pleasant but they can improve it for a better experience, it is an expensive restaurant if I compare it with other sushi restaurants but each dish is worth it, they are very well prepared, if you order takeout you should know that it will take a while

Ardo Kusuma: , basically it comes with some uni, Ikura, and some sashimi on a bed of sushi rice. It came with some kind of bamboo looking box as well. Don't know whether it's just plastic that looks like bamboo or real bamboo. Though the 2nd time I got the same item for delivery, it shows up in some kind of plastic container instead. Maybe cutting cost? Anyway, not as "presentable" as before. Then for dining in for dinner, we got some hand rolls, only hand rolls. And it was, quite disappointing. Like, all the hand rolls, all I could taste was just their cured cucumber. Whatever you get, the cured cucumber will take over the taste. And the seaweed that they use is also soggy, not crispy like specialized hand rolls restaurants.

Joshua Szepietowski: The BEST fresh sushi.

Makena Kong: This is a great place to get dinner before hitting your favorite bars on Polk. They had the freshest, tastiest sashimi! We got the Spoon Set A, I dont even know what 4 fishes they were but they were all great. Even my friend who doesnt particularly like slimy things enjoyed them. We also got the monkfish liver, toro handrolls, victoria secret roll and the spicy tuna roll.Plus, the waitress was so nice - they were fine with accomadating no cucumbers in our rolls. We came on a rainy Saturday evening so there was about a 5-10 minute wait to get seated - if you add your name to the waitlist on yelp beforehand I'm sure you wouldn't have to wait.
