Max Stanton: , 14 pieces of nigiri, and option to go a la carte after. While everything was stellar, the standouts for us were the sake
Krista Schwartz: Cosy, intimate space where each chef serves only 4 guests. The sushi is top notch, with fish flown in daily from Japan. Our go-to for special occasions.Vegetarian options: There is no vegetarian menu.Kid-friendliness: Not for kids.
Secret Society: Words cannot describe how amazing it is to eat here! The price is well worth it. They prepare the sushi in front of you and tell you the story behind every fish!Every single sushi piece was delicious.
Yolanda: Pretty good, but pretty pricey.
AhmdReza “Reza” K: Ju Ni in San Francisco is an exceptional dining experience that deserves no less than five stars. Specializing in Japanese cuisine, the restaurant offers an intimate and meticulously crafted menu that showcases the finest ingredients and culinary skills. Holding two Michelin stars for two years is a testament to its consistent quality and innovation. The chef at Ju Ni is not only professional but also engaging and interesting, adding a unique touch to the dining experience. This place is a must-visit for anyone seeking an unparalleled sushi experience in San FranciscoP.S. I believe the dinner menu starts around 200 per person. Adding drink and some other items, it’s around 300$ per person.
Dummycom X: Ebodai and Kan-Buri good
Hannah Konitshek: Recommended dishes Ume Madai

Alex: I'd give this place a 4.5 star if Google allowed me. I came by with a coworker for dinner this past Friday. We arrived at the restaurant a little after 6pm, and were a little surprised that the restaurant was fully empty. It was a rainy day, so that may have contributed. We got seated and ordered some miso soup, edamame, hot sake, the serious nigiri combination platter, and a black & white roll. The miso was alright, a tiny bit light on taste. The edamame was well boiled, with a generous sprinkling of salt on top. The nigiri platter contained 12 pieces, and the fish all tasted fresh. The roll was also well made, with Yellowtail and tempura shrimp.Overall, this was a nice little restaurant if you want a low key and quiet dinner, with good quality fish and well made rolls.

Doug Gordy: The food here is really good.... Like I was back in Japan good. The rice is done just right, slightly sticky without being overly starchy. Their lunch specials are worth the price. They have this ginger dressing on the salads that was fresh and very pleasing. You should get the gyoza if you get any appetizer. The unagi domburi was some of the best I have had. Recommend this place as a nice lunch stop.

Diego Marquez: the food 10/10 the fish super fresh, their fried chicken excellent, their shashimis the same, the tokayaki incredible and best of all the attention the waitress was super friendly and despite being alone and serving multiple tables as if she was Rosey from the jetsons she takes the time to practice with me my Japanese, super grateful with everything! 100 recommended!
Dave Mitchell: Oh my.. what a delightful find. A killer joint run by a couple Kumi and Mike.. some of the best service and sushi I've had in a long time. Kumi was slammed at the front of the house and crushed it all night. Chef Mike kept orders flowing without missing a beat! Food and service were exceptional especially for the price... I will be back! Update: we've been here 3x now and haven't been disappointed. Super solid Sushi!
GuruGovind: The fatty tuna makes me cry with joy each time

Brandon Yung: Honestly pretty impressed with this place. The name of the restaurant was a bit off putting but I’m happy to say the food surpassed my expectations. We got the toro roll, Kobe beef ramen, agedashi tofu and edamame - everything was perfect and reasonably priced! I couldn’t find anything critical to say about any of the dishes honestly and I eat at Japanese restaurants very often. I’d easily come here again. Definitely recommend the Kobe beef ramen.
Angela Dao: Wow, can’t believe i haven’t heard of this place! The duck ramen was some of the best ramen I’ve had in the states. We also ordered a few rolls and appetizers - the raw fish being super fresh and roll combinations were delicious and unique.Easy parking too! Definitely stop by, you might add it to your sushi rotation.
dominic galletti: Best in San Francisco!
Darius Bahgeri: One authentic Japanese place, very friendly staff
Kevin Onorato: Wow, I have been eating sushi for 35 years and this is the third place where I was ever truly surprised and delighted. While I am not a real officionado I can say for certain that all the boxes got a check mark. Food, atmosphere, and staff were not just wonderful but really a cut above my expectations. I’ve never had makerel that was so mild but still flavorful. We had a type of poke salad with mixed fish and mixed greens and pickled veg that was fantastic. The atmosphere, the ambiance, the art, the lighting, the architecture is pretty darn cool as somebody found a way to integrate the dated and rustic concrete building which was likely a auto garage or something back in the day, with a sweet room modern vibe. The caterpillar roll looked like a damn caterpillar and the dynamite roll was the best I’ve had. I hope I’m not being dramatic. My sushi experiences range from Monterey, Seaside, Marin, SF, Santa Cruz, and Portland. Never been to Japan but after this sushi I ran home and started to research trips to Japan as I was inspired.
Michaela Nee: Truly a hidden gem - amazing, amazing food, kind staff and honestly it’s just really beautifully decorated! This is our favorite place to take friends and quickly became a go-to.Vegetarian options: 2 veggie sushi rolls are available on the menu

Venessa Giordano: The sushi was extremely fresh and absolutely delicious! So many delicate flavors hitting with every bite. One of the best sushi experiences ever.
Armin A: Great omakase and a good value at $125 for the highest tier. I would definitely return for this. However I would NOT recommend the wine/sake pairing which costs an extra $90 -- completely overpriced and not worth it at all.
Vikram Haer: The chef and staff are all very attentive and make you feel so welcome and cared for. We came for our anniversary and they brought us a lovely desert. We had the grand omakase which has a great range of flavors and some amazing bites. Would recommend sitting at counter which feels more intimate. Drink options are a bit pricey but foods the star of the show. Their serveware is very elegant and creative as well.
Vicky T: For $125, we got an excellent omakase experience in SF. I’ve been to several omakase places and normally $100ish range omakase is quite mediocre comparing to $200-$300ish one, but this place has amazing quality for a very affordable price. The restaurant is clean with limited seatings at omakase table where you can see the chefs preparing the dish and several separate tables for dine in. They also have a la cart menu if you want extra fish and try other kinds. The service was great. Having reservations ahead is recommended. We were lucky that we made reservation a day before and got in for Saturday night dinner
Jenny Xu: Came here for a Valentine’s Day dinner early and what a cool omakase experience! We got the grand experience.Good:- We got seated right in front of the chef so got to talk to him as he made the sushi in front of us- Good amount of food - there was some appetizers and dessert and a lot of nigiri- Super nice service and the fish was all so so fresh and tasty- Romantic ambiance inside, its dim and quiet for catchupsBad:- expensive!Overall it was a great date spot and a really nice vibe.
andy liang: The wife love this place. It it is worth the price. The food is great, but don't change much over the years, which kind of defeat the purpose of Omakase. The service is great. The hostest know the sake we ordered last time we visited a years a go.
Kelli Ellingson: This was an excellent omakase experience!! Incredible sushi with the most perfect flavors, amazing service, and good value. I was really impressed, this is the best omakase I’ve had in quite some time, the fish was so fresh and paired with excellent flavors. Normally I’m not a big fan of mackerel, but they served the best mackerel I’ve ever had in addition to the amazing snapper, toro, black miso cod with truffles, and so many more! Highly recommend!!!
Jennifer Tsang: Got the grand omakase for $125, 18 pieces. If you like sake, I suggest people pay the corkage fee of $35 and bring your own bottles, it’s way cheaper than paying $$$$ to get their sakes.Came here 5 years ago and it was delicious.. decided to come back again to celebrate my husbands birthday. Servers were very attentive and made sure our sake glasses were always full.
Mike Chiu: Me and the wife had such a fun night here, we got 2 bottles of delicious sake and we drank with the chef Kyle and the other staff. We got the whole shabang, $125 omakase course + caviar supplement + extra supplemental nigiri + extra nigiri at the end. I would say you can go without the caviar unless you really want to try it. Everything was delicious, vibes were immaculate, staff were amazing.

Alex R: A minimalist and quite reasonable omakase restaurant! The nigiri sushi are handcrafted with great attention to detail and balance in all components. The selection and quality of fish is compelling and the seasoning of the shari is perfect in my opinion - it is evident that a high grade red rice vinegar was used. The temaki course was mindblowing, not just because of the negitoro but also because of the world class nori choice. Bravo!
Lixing Fu: 1. Don't be surprised that they don't have a fancy entry door.2. During Covid the price of omakase is $85 which is pretty good for 10 nigiri and 1 tamagoyaki. Food is premium. But they didn't give the best portion yet. The toro given in the omakase was like medium fatty, which was not the best. I can take a star off for this but based on price I didn't. One suggestion is they can make less sushi but improve the fish grade. I can accept 8 sushi pieces with same price, but in better quality.3. Try the additional order, amazing. The uni, toro were blowing my mind.4. Their sea bream was really good. A bit chewy but full of texture. Just different than toro which melts in your mouth, it is a different feeling , but pretty good.5. Service was decent.
Richard Dizon: A Michelin-starred chef for a reason, omakase at Sasaki was an excellent experience. Despite being a finer-dining establishment, don't feel pressure to dress up, the sushi will speak for itself and probably won't judge you for your t-shirt. I'd strongly encourage anyone to try the sea urchin if you have any apprehension about it because it was easily one of the best items on the menu for the evening.
Philipp Streubel: Great experience and service. Sake pairing was wonderful. Best sushi I have had in a long time if not ever.
Miss Cool: Wonderful service, ambiance, and ultra fresh fish 🐟 🐠
Misha Rakytianskyi: Amazing spot! Great quality fish and nigiri selection, rice was good too. And their hand-rolls just 🔝❤️
Michael J: but none of them was quite tasty or remarkable, except from the uni from Japan. The raw tako has no flavor and was hard to bite and the hotate got too much wasabi which covered its flavor
Michelle: This omakase spot has a delicious and fresh menu. My favorite recommendation from the waitress was the toro - fatty tuna. It melted in your mouth good. The chef carefully prepared each dish in a timely fashion as we ate away. There were dividers between each table and masks and gloves were worn by staff. Definitely a safe and friendly experience.
nitin jindal: New omakase spot in mission. Awesome handrolls and uni.
Esther Du: Delicious! All the fish was super fresh and very tasty; 85 dollars for the 9 piece omakase! Would recommend!!

Willow J: Went here a while ago and got the tonkatsu ramen and salmon roll. The ramen was good but lacked a bit in its broth and toppings. It came with chasu, bamboo shoots, and an egg.Unfortunately the egg was overcooked rather than jammy as I was hoping for. The chasu was also overly charred and a bit tough to chew through. The salmon roll was good and well presented.

Drew Chappell Mathias: Amazing omakase and sushi chef expertise. The GM/bev manager was very over the top. She thought she was cute and friendly but she made our dinner awkward and less enjoyable. She needs to figure out how to cater to all guests the same and not make some regulars feel special and others feel ignored or awkward. She also spent so much time with others that several of our courses went by without the drink pairing. Overall the meal was amazing because of the food. She dragged the rest of the experience down.
D. Land: It was always pleasant to experience chef making your the nigiri in front of you.My favorite dish from the menu was:Honmaguro Toro Nigiri ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Anago Nigiri ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Kamasu Nigiri ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Hojicha Ice Cream ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Recommended to visit this restaurant to experience high quality Japanese cuisine!
Shanna Cancino: Lovely experience. Minimalist aesthetic. Engaged, warm, and fun staff. Great service. High touch. Went above and beyond remembering little details about us throughout the night. The food was delicious, fresh, beautiful, fun, and educational. So many things stand out but need to check the QR code to write the names. The sake pairing was just as lovely! The crystal and platter aesthetic was beautiful and I wanted to steal a lot of it and bring it home. They counted the spoons 😜So grateful. Thank you 💕💕✨✨
