Mathilde French Bistro: what do users think?

Kenechi: My wife and I had a dinner date here a few days ago; I apologize for writing this so late 😅 We had a marvelous time. The service is incredible: the wait staff was waiting on us hand and foot; they kept bringing us bread, pouring our drinks; it was like they had a sixth sense when we needed something. The food itself was incredible. We like to opt for dishes that best showcase the unique qualities of a given cuisine. We opted for the specials that night: salmon tertine layered with goat cheese and a grilled ribeye. We also got the duck leg confit, some escargot and mussels in white wine. Everything was cooked so well. The salmon melted in your mouth. We hope it ends up a permanent item on the menu. One small gripe was we ordered the steak medium but it came medium rare. We decided to eat it as is and it was still very enjoyable. For desert we got the profiteroles and they were so delicious: the combination of ingredients work so well together.Overall, we loved it and will probably be back very soon.

Peter Zeller: Onion Soup was awesome and the beet salad should not be missed. The onglet

Jeanette G: Mathilde is the place for authentic French cuisine with the perfect wine pairings to bring out each dish’s flavor. I recommend you order family style apps and I love their steak frites for my main.I prefer to sit outside in their heated patio because it feels like you’re dining at an outdoor patio in Paris.

Cheryl Hori: such attention to detail that I would 100% steal bites from him is truly above and beyond.- removing croutons from my salad and explaining it typically comes with them- every staff member was aware and accommodating!Thank you all for a great night, can’t wait to come back soon!!

Curtis Woo: So pleased to discover that the former bistro I once frequented when I worked in the area hasn't lost a step as Mathilde French Bistro. The escargot was perfect and the true charcuterie board was fantastic with the duck rillet and the saucisson d’ail being my favorites. The delicious plat du jour of perfectly cooked sea bass, shrimp, mussels mashed potatoes and saffron reduction was well executed and surprisingly light. Paired perfectly with a bottle of Sancerre. Finished off with an excellent mousse au chocolat. Will return for the cassoulet and profiteroles 🥂🇫🇷😋

Simona Constantinescu: First of all, the service was one of the best we’ve ever had. We came for dinner with our 2 years old son who was tired and hungry and they brought us French fries from the house for our toddler, in less then 2 minutes after our arrival.Food was great as well, especially Coq au vin!Definitely recommend for a cozy delicious French dinner!

Chapeau: what do users think?

Alexander Coughlin: A perfect evening! Impeccable service and exquisite cuisine. Chapeau is a tried and true French bistro with a distinctively neighborhood feeling that captures all the best things French food and culture have to offer. From the moment we stepped inside, the staff was friendly and attentive. We were there to celebrate a special occasion and they acknowledged this several times, which made it feel like they really cared. The food was incredible from start to finish, as well as the beverages. A wonderful place to celebrate, bring a date, or catch up with friends and family. We will return!

Rue Lepic French Restaurant: what do users think?

Cassie: We were delightfully impressed by the food and people at Rue Le Pic. Ordinary and old were all made extraordinary and classic. It was not difficult to tell that this restaurant had contained a lot of stories.

Misha Weidman: Really quite excellent food in this slightly funky tiny neighborhood French bistrot. Main courses are not cheap at mostly over $40, but they are certainly delicious. My sweetbreads were creamy and well-seasoned, the duck a l'orange was tangy and tender, and my wife's rack of lamb delicious. If the food is not cheap, the limited wine selections most certainly were. A French screwtop pay d'oc pinot noir for $40? Not exactly a burgundy but certainly good enough.

Douglas Palmer: A smaller venue with a well established and well executed menu. One of my favorites when in SF and a place I always recommend to visitors in the area. Never misses.Recommended dishes Duck Breast …

Sonal Uban: What a cute little find! One of my colleagues had been talking about this restaurant he's been going to for over 20 years, and took me to try it. It's been a gem of a find! Definitely one of my go-tos for french food now in the city. The owner and the servers are all very friendly and gracious!! Do try it. We always go for their price fix menu which is totally worth the money!

Matt Chiodi: Amazing food with old school ambiance. Highly recommended.

Chen Lee: Food: 5/5Recommended dishes Le Filet De Saumon Saute a L'Aneth Sauteed Salmon Fillet with Fresh Dill Sauce

Julie Jackson: We had a wonderful dinner here before going to a concert at The Warfield. Every dish was outstanding; the highlights for us were the Seafood Pasta and Cream of Mushroom Soup. Service was warm, prompt, and friendly. We ended up being too full to try the delicious-sounding desserts, so we will have to come back! Highly recommend.

Joe Sajjad: Some of the best traditional French food in San Francisco. We will be back.

O' by Claude Le Tohic: what do users think?

Lukasz Zbylut: O by Claude Le Tohic is a Michelin-starred restaurant, nestled on the fifth floor of ONE65, is the crown jewel of Chef Claude Le Tohic's culinary empire. It offers a multi-course tasting menu, with both five and nine-course options available. Each dish is a work of art, a symphony of flavors and textures designed to tantalize the taste buds. Imagine starting with a generous trio of caviar, each paired with a different type of freshly baked bread, whetting your appetite for the culinary journey ahead. Every element on the plate complements the others, creating a harmonious and unforgettable experience. The desserts are unforgettable and the menu has a large list of non-alcoholic mocktails. If you're a foodie, a Francophile, or simply a discerning diner looking for an unforgettable night out, O by Claude Le Tohic is a must-try. Be prepared to be impressed by the innovative cuisine, the impeccable service, and the luxurious ambiance.

Daniel Dafoe: The service was immaculate, the culinary journey was exquisite, and never once did the staff or experience disappoint. The courses were described, brought out in perfect timing, and presented and plated incredibly.I did not once think I was getting a subpar experience because I got a vegan tasting menu. Everything was crafted with care and obvious passion. You absolutely get what you pay for—and price you pay may be a barrier to entry for some. All in all, this is the perfect anniversary or special occasion spot to take your loved one or special friends.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian tasting menu. Call or email to ensure you are able to request a vegan tasting menu.

Alyssa Y: The best meal I’ve had in all of my life and worth every penny. How this restaurant has only one Michelin star is beyond me. The 9 course tasting menu was absolute perfection that it’s impossible to pick one favorite course. The caviar trio was to die for and the crispy skin on the kinmedai was unlike anything I’ve ever tried. Would love to come back again!

Elizabeth: Absolutely enchanting birthday celebration at O’ by Claude Le Tohic. My fiancé and I had an amazing time and the staff and chefs really made our night with their high level service and food presentation. We had the 9-course Grand Tasting Winter experience and each serving seemed like it brought you just a little closer to heaven. I’m so thankful for how awesome everyone was and glad that they were a part of our special night.Vegetarian options: If you request vegetarian options, they will do their best to accommodate your needs.Dietary restrictions: If you have any dietary restrictions, they will do their best to accommodate you. For example, I don’t eat seafood so they gave me a customized food options menu with recreated original dishes with vegetable supplements, instead of seafood.Parking: Paid self- parking garage adjacent to the restaurant.

Katelyn: This was such an incredible and creative dinner. From start to finish, every bite was cooked to perfection and the flavors were delicious and complex. The caviar composition was such a unique course, and I especially loved the madai tartare with radish and green apple, it was so addicting. They even had a complimentary abalone dish if you sign up for a zestpass, and it was one of my favorite dishes! The turbot was also incredible and really stood out. All of the sauces were amazing and complimented each dish so well. Both of the desserts were incredibly flavorful and satisfying, they weren't too heavy and were the perfect ending to this wonderful meal. The chef even came out and greeted everyone which was very kind of him! I highly recommend dining here, this was my favorite meal i've had in San Francisco and I will definitely be back.

Beryl Jones: Wonderful spot, tucked into a little food marketplace. Close to Chinatown and a couple of terrific hotels. Authentic French cousine, C'est magnifique! Wait staff was attentive and super friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: I'm disabled, the whole International food marketplace was level and wheelchair friendly, with enough authenticity to satisfy the soul.

Licorne ARC EN CIEL: We came to see the opening rugby match 🏉 France-New Zealand. The atmosphere was great. Only French people came to see the match. TV screen everywhere in the room. We had the burger, good meat, crispy fries. The waitress was very friendly, making a little effort to speak to us in French for a few words. On the other hand, I find it expensive to pay more than $20 in tips. I recommend coming to eat hereLong live France 🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵

Trash Roberts: Always a great meal! Staff is friendly and a great wine list. Chef is great and helpful and I love sitting at the bar when solo. Always a stop when coming through San Francisco. Highly recommend. Thanks Chef! Pork Chop was great, sorry I don’t have room for dessert. The Gigondas was fantastic.

Katie Hopkins: Amazing experience and fantastic attention to detail from the staff.Gregory helped me make selections for all courses and found the perfect wine to accompany my meal.Highly recommend adding the bread plate. It seems simple, but it had the perfect contrast of soft pillowy insides with toasted crisp crust. The butter used was so creamy and complimented it perfectly. The Adventurous appetizer was a fun and quite different opener to the meal. It definitely could have served 2-3 people so I was quite stuffed by the time I got to the end. I enjoyed the opportunity to guess what I was eating. It was so good and I was definitely surprised by what it was! While I’m not usually a fan of French onion soup, theirs was incredible. The cheese was complimentary instead of overwhelming and bread retained its crispiness throughout.I had the Cornish hen with potatoes and mushrooms as a main, and I was impressed with the variety and pairing of the mushrooms to the dish. They were hearty but not overwhelming. Including 5+ types of mushrooms gave a delightful contrast to the rest of the dish. The Chantilly cake had perfectly crispy edges and was the right weight for the end of such a rich meal.

Robert McLain: Had a lovely Valentine's dinner at Bouche. Service and staff were wonderful and the atmosphere quaint and delightful.Dinner was a Prix Fix affair which was very good, but couldn't show off the full strength of the kitchen. Included a delicious cauliflower soup, a small simple salad and a very good, if small Lobster Thermador. Desert of a chocolate cake or cheese plate rounded out the dinner with an excellent wine pairing. The seating is tight, but the atmosphere delightful. We will return!

Albert Huang: Brought here by a vegetarian, and I’m happy to have experienced this place. I would never had tried this out myself being a meat lover but now I have a place I can bring vegetarian friends to. Not exactly sure what I had but it was tasty.

Steve Engle: Small, intimate restaurant with a menu listing whatever's fresh that day. "Got any specials?" "They're all specials."There were exactly two secondi options the night we went. I kind of wanted both but we'd done enough damage with starters and pastas it wasn't to be.It was the most authentically Italian dinner I've had in the city. Maybe some of that's due to the outrageously delicious tomatoes available this late in September. Chef knew what they had and made the most of it.Parking: Parking? It's Russian Hill. There's no parking.

Rickie L Jones: San Francisco is one of the few cities to set boats restaurants with Michelin stars I live in New Orleans we’re food is a big part of the culture but it’s never particularly great or varied how thrilling it was for me then to find an old-school wonderful French restaurant with such creative thinking and perfect delivery And not too fussy I look forward to returning to The City for a wonderful meal with a fried. C’est tres Cher. But so interesting. And it’s OK if you don’t drink, I don’t drink and never feel like I need to drink when I’m having wonderful food.

William Nugent: Read a review in the paper so we checked it out over the weekend. Getting there was a breeze on the light rail. The waitlist kiosk was easy enough and after lapping the open shops we waited about 30 minutes total. We sat in the back patio area. The wait staff were great, as was the food and drinks. It was refreshing to see true menu pricing with tip included and no add on fees. Definitely will return.

Yuri Moreno: 6 starts for this place! The food is amazing!!! Quality ingredients and very well prepared. Their Divorcee eggs Benedict's are out of this world.Just make sure you arrive early and are ok waiting, otherwise try to go on the off hours.Sitting in the front is first come first serve.

Phillip C: Any word when/if they’ll reopen? This is my favorite SF restaurant!

Jason Claiborne: This place is the best French food I have ever had. Great service and location

Danielle Canta: This is probably one of the most underrated restaurants in SF. Cozy, authentic and delicious French food. I'm veg and try to avoid dairy. I always get the ratatouille. Great food doesn't have to be complicated and this dish always delivers for me!

Jules Clark: Simply the best.

Jenny Stevens: faced the wall and that was fine, but almost immediately two seats facing the kitchen opened and we were able to switch.

Or Jan: An excellent place, a small and cute French bistro, if you want a quiet and delicious dinner this is the place for sure.Quite close to the park so you can also continue from there for a walk in the park or vice versa. Also courteous and skilled service from a very pleasant waiter team.

bonafidehan: and staff. Taste is by rich ingredients, not by a ton of additives. Atmosphere is casual but super cozy. And yet prices and portion sizes are great. One of my faves in SF!

Jinny Abi-Sarkis: Small romantic French restaurant with the most delicious food ever!!! Very highly recommended!!

Colin Daunt: Gamine is a hole-in-the-wall restaurant with great food and a great ambiance. Everything on the menu is amazing. We come here for dinner every time we're in San Francisco. We've always had great service each time we've come.

Oriana Munoz: Splendid food and service

Thao Devine: I've been dining here for the past decade. Lovely neighborhood spot, serving incredible French food. Prices are reasonable and every dish is delicious. Will continue to be my go to for French food even though I now live in Marin.

Alexandre Snappe: My neighborhood go to. The staff is cool and the food reminds me of home. Escargots, duck, mussels, the baked combozola, I’m stopponf here. Go try

Pavol Celuch: The food was delicious and really tasty. We got there very early and so the place was empty with not very appealing decor. Once the food arrived it turned out amazing and would definitely come again.

Nancy Kirshner Rodriguez: We have been dining at Gamine for more than a decade. Last night I took a colleague from out of town. Dinner was magnificent. Try any dish you won't be disappointed.

ONE65 San Francisco: what do users think?

Michelle B.: Came up as a restaurant on Google, but it is actually a French style bakery with a few limited lunch items. My husband and I both ordered their burger and fries option and they were some of the best French fries we ever had. Light and crisp on the outside with just a little bit of soft potato on the inside. That being said ONE65 is all about the pastry desserts. They each looked like works of art. We were on a bit of a time schedule, so I ordered a pain au Chocolat to go. It was still delicious hours later.

Kay Bee: Update: This just re-opened under new ownership. The 3rd one since we've been coming here. The menu has a wider selection. My husband thinks that it leans more towards Italian. I still see echoes of the French menu. We ordered the rock shrimp and scallops. Glad that we asked for warm bread and butter to soak the sauce. He ordered a salad and I ordered the salmon. What I love the most is the wine selection. The previous owners offered European wines which was good if you like that style. I personally prefer California wines so I'm thrilled. I ordered a flight of the Chardonnay. The creme brulee was so good but I wasn't fast enough to take a picture. We sat outside though they also have seating inside too. So glad that this is open again! This is a hidden gem. It's off the beaten path that locals go to. We've been going for over 10 years. It's French but not pretentious. We sometimes go right when it opens without reservation. It gets packed on Valentine's Day and Mother's Day.We usually order steak and fries, mussels with curry and risotto. They always accommodate kids' request for pasta with butter and cheese. We try their escargot from time to time. I'm glad that they offer California wines too and just not just French wines. They offer brunch which I've never tried though.

Kristie Drawe: I was looking to make a reservation for 10 on OpenTable and stumbled upon this cute restaurant! They serve a 3 course meal every day from 4-5:30 for $25. What a great value for SF! The food was delicious! I loved the shrimp pasta and the salad. The sea salt gelato was delicious too. My friends had a fun time and we will definitely be back! Street parking close to the panhandle. Staff was so friendly and service was excellent 👌🏼

Monsieur Benjamin: what do users think?

Scott P. Hu: There are very little French restaurants left in the City, so Monsieur Benjamin stands out.Although not a traditional French restaurant, it’s a good expression of a French/Californian cuisine. We started with the Butter Lettuce Salad and ordered the Whole Sea Bass for our entree. I also ordered the French Onion Soup. All dishes were delicious! I may have accidentally added more salt to the soup, thinking it was the pepper grinder, but que cera… The Sea Bass was deboned, which made it easier to serve, and it was cooked perfectly.Service was good… the server seemed like he was a bit distracted.Overall, the food is still solid, served in a wonderfully modern venue.

Pasha Gleyzer: Another great dinner. They were able to accommodate a group of 7 and cook delicious food for us. Efficiently with making us feel welcome.Review one year prior:Excellent food and impeccable service. They have a semi-open kitchen, and it was a pleasure to watch them work. Like a well-oiled machine: every move is efficient and has a purpose. Highly recommend.

Doug Pauls: My wife & I enjoyed an amazing pre-ballet dinner at Monsieur Benjamin. From the bread to the salad to dinner - every bite was a feast to our mouths.Thank you for creating an incredible dining experience.
