Natsume Shiihara: I love the bento lunches from Shalala Deli inside Fugetsu Market. In particular, the "Shalala Deluxe Bento" recommended by Shalala Deli's manager, Nobu Iwahashi, contains seasoned chicken and fried shrimp, and the salmon with white sauce on the side was delicious even for me, who doesn't like salmon. If you run out of ingredients and only rice is left, it's a good idea to eat it with the vegetables on the side.
Polly Chan: I used to occasionally buy freshly made Japanese bento boxes. It turns out they also have so many cute little things~Lots of small plates and cartoon-shaped design cups~A lot of little healing things,In the end, I was willing to bring back a milk pot~So cuteAnyone who passes by can take a look!
Oxana Tuvina: Fresh and yummy ! 🤤
Alice Shih: Much better than any Chinese pretend Japanese food here!Similar to what I had in restaurants in JapanIt’s a real Japanese bentoAnd the bento is very affordable and reasonably pricedHighly recommended! !
Jaime Felix: This shop has everything here. When you think of Japanese food, they got it all— sushi, Kushikatsu, bento, and matcha soft serve. They just started matcha soft serve here and it was so delicious. If I lived closer, I would seriously come everyday. They give large portions like it should be for your hard earned money. Get your bang for your buck here! The dons that my family and I ordered were so delicious. The flavors take me back to Japan.Fugetsu is an Osaka-born global chain that specializes in okonomiyaki. However this shop along with Shalala deli is a special place in Strawberry Park.Quick grab and go meal for lunch, dinner or a meal for the next day. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Joshua A.: I got the okonomiyaki deluxe which was pretty good, a tiny bit heavy on the mayo/sauce, but didn't make it less enjoyable, plus there are a million other things to choose from here so I would definitely come back to try some others.

Jonathan Brown: Great yakisoba, would recommend to anyone!
G Lee: I’m pretty sure they changed their menu here. Because they have more than takoyaki now. They have stone pot maze yakisoba. And it’s good! Three of us tried the original, the garlic, and the spicy. All three were yummy. A nice little change of pace from ramen. Perhaps a tad on the salty side. But I love the egg you crack in the bowl and mix it all together. Excellent. And by the way, they still have mochi donuts. Also yum.
Yudhishthir Kandel (युधिष्ठिर कँडेल): Excellent

Sida: Probably the best Japanese BBQ I had in the bay so far, although not inexpensive. The lighting is good for photography.Recommend the skewers, uni with jelly and egg rice. Fish liver is too dry and I don’t recommend it.
Andy Jan: Gaku is one of my favorite restaurants in the Bay Area. I have never had a bad meal here in the last ten years I’ve been going. My consistent favorites are the fried shrimp, spicy chicken wings, and the Gaku udon. A new item we tried out were the yuzu fried chicken skins and those were fantastic as well. All of the yakitori is great and much recommended.Gaku is perfect for date nights and for nights out with friends. Definitely come here for a consistently great dining experience.
Jaime Felix: My cousin from San Jose recommended this to me and I'm glad I tried it out because yakitori is one of my favorite foods. The flavors, vibes and dim lighting at Gaku Yakitori take me back a visit to Tokyo. I've been twice to Gaku in two weeks and can't wait to come back for more. For my first visit, they ran out of a lot of items, so it shows how popular they are and how loyal their customers are. During dinner, the place was packed and I could here people speaking Japanese, so I could tell it's an authentic spot.My favorites were the chicken thigh and wing skewers of course, but everything hit the spot. They nailed the flavors here-- good quality meats, sauces, and everything was grilled to perfection. The appetizers were also tasty. Everything tasted great with the draft Asahi and brown rice tea.I do recommend a mix of appetizers and skewers here. Japanese people eat tomatoes and edamame with beer, so I recommend those two. Shrimp karaage, gaku spicy wings, chicken wings, chicken thigh, bacon steak, meatballs, butabara, and king oyster mushroom are great. The desserts are also good. When I went there was a special dorayaki with red bean and whip cream that we had to try. The green tea creme brulee was another tasty way to finish dinner.
Jianyuan Chen (Jack): Great great taste, tender and juicy on every skewer we ordered. Pricey. The decor is pretty, authentic Japanese yakitori restaurant.Recommended dishes …

Deven Olds: Food was truly incredible, and I couldn't have asked for better service. From order to table in 15 minutes tops and we ordered a large amount of food. Servers were polite, accomodating and had great attitudes. The best Takoyaki I've had.Seating is limited and it's a tight izakaya, large groups may have issues with seating.

zike qin: Unagi chazuke is delicious, a nice place for rice based Japanese food.We got a seat without reservation on a Saturday night.Food: 5/5 …
Zamir Mamytov: Upon entering, it appeared there was typically a long wait, but we were seated right away at a table for two. Despite the bustling atmosphere, the servers were all very attentive and pleasant. We were surprised by the size of the dishes we ordered—they were all quite generous! It's no wonder why most people come in groups or parties. The prices were very reasonable considering the portion sizes. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of everything we ordered, but I must say, their salmon was absolutely delicious!Overall, everything was fantastic, and we're excited to return, perhaps with some friends next time.
Michelle Wang: Got the fancy tatami room and the food was delicious. I actually had more fish than rice. So the fish to rice ratio was great! I got the mini chirashi bowl for $19, added uni for 7.50They have a large variety of food items on their menu and I think I may return to try more!
Ting Ning: Amazing! This place is great, it has a wide selection of items from bento boxes to ramen. It also has a lot of seafood dishes and alcoholic drinks. The only thing I would say to improve was that it took WAY too long to make the ramen. The bento box has literally done for 10 minutes and the ramen only came
Emily “Rainnie” Xiong: I visited Dan Izakaya Restaurant twice this week; first on a quiet Tuesday lunch time, and then on a bustling Friday night. Making a reservation for Tuesday meant our large party was seated immediately, but Friday's visit involved a long wait, despite this, the staff remained calm and friendly throughout. I highly recommend the Sashimi Salad, raw squid, Unagi Meshi, and their bento box, although the Takoyaki included was a bit too soft for my liking, likely due to an excess of flour in the mix, and the sauce was overly sweet. Parking is ample as the lot serves the entire plaza, ensuring convenience no matter how busy it gets. Whether it's a weekday visit or a busy weekend dinner, Dan Izakaya impresses with its quality dishes and steadfast service.

Veronica Qiu: We came here a while ago and remmebered loving the food. This time although it was only takeout, the food still tasted great was also pretty fast 👍 😁Hope they open the restaurant to in person dining again soon
Ines Zhang: Very great
Shun Chen: We had great spicy tsukemen, the noodles were generous portions and excellent. I saw other reviews that they couldn’t tell if it’s open… it is definitely open but very empty probably because it was take out only. I’d definitely come back again.
Karvin Dassanayake: This place is not closed at all!Wonderful ramen broth with great cuts of meat. I wandered here during a lunch break since I was craving some ramen, and it did not disappoint. They’re currently doing takeout only, but the lovely couple took pity on me for needing to bike back to my office with a bag of ramen so they let me eat inside. This place seems to be missing the office lunch crowd, and is surprisingly quiet for the quality of food. Would recommend anyone check this out since it’s pretty good ramen for the price. Will definitely be coming again!
Mitchell Davies: The outside looks like it's under construction but they're still open!Their takoyaki tasted very fresh and was the best I've ever had from a restaurant. Close to what I can make at home. Their broth for the spicy tsukumen was outstanding! And their ramen was great as well.Features: They wear masks and have sanitizer, as well as social distancing tables!
Chloe John: Price is fair and taste is good!
Yuju Kuo: The best Gyu Niku Udon in town with affordable price and nice service!Dine in: Yes Takeout: Yes Delivery: Yes Curbside pickup: Yes …

Anupam Tripathi: Food: 5/5
Joel Falcon: We decided to try out Jinya for lunch while searching for a new ramen place. Arriving during off-peak hours helped us skip the crowds, which was a plus. The location is convenient, situated outside the mall near the Cheesecake Factory. The staff welcomed us warmly, and our waiter was attentive and friendly throughout our meal. Our food arrived promptly after ordering, and the flavors were delicious. However, we found the portion sizes to be a bit small given the prices. Despite this, the overall experience was positive, and I would recommend giving Jinya a try.
Hitomi Iwamoto: Ordered Tonkotsu black ramen .I love this skinny but hard texture noodles , I think even harder than Ramen Nagi . But because skinny , good match with creamy soup base !Service also quick and friendly here !

Liz #: If you want to eat okonomiyaki, you can't go wrong if you come here. They have Japanese sake and a wide variety of Japanese food. I brought some American and Indian friends and they loved it.
Lo: Came with a group of friends. We ordered the okonomiyaki, two of us got the combo sets, and others entrees. The food was large portion and very delicious. The 6pc nigiris were huge. The okonomiyaki has a lot of meat on it and an egg. We would come here again.
Elizabeth Ma: Food portions are large and they are delicious!
