Fae LeDawson: This mid-priced Sardinian restaurant has a lot of charm with only small flaws. When you step in, you'll find a charming compact dining area with a loud buzz of conversation. It can be hard to hear others at a table of four and I wish the restaurant had more noise dampening. Service was kind but our water glasses sat empty for too much of the meal, considering the number of servers for the handful of tables. The pork sauce gnochetti was intensely savory and had the perfect texture. My table shared some Sardinian flatbread and olives, which were as expected. The lamb tenderloin was excellent, but I wish there were more vegetables to accompany it. The roe spaghetti was excellent with interesting flavors throughout. And the whole prawns came in a generous serving, also perfectly cooked.Vegetarian options: There's a strong focus on seafood with meat dishes. There are a handful of vegetarian dishes but not a large selection. It would be hard to find vegan options.Parking: You might have to park around the block, and larger cars will struggle to find suitable spots.Kid-friendliness: The atmosphere is casual enough for children above toddler age, but you may have to ask an advance about simple dishes as there are only a few that picky eaters would enjoy.Wheelchair accessibility: The tables are tightly spaced and the restaurant can be slightly crowded. If there are only 1-2 people with wheelchairs, staff might be able to reserve a table with space to wheel around. Without planning ahead, there may be difficulties.

rogueacosta: Exceptional food in quaint digs served up with great service. Started with the burrata served with a lemon and EVO drizzle. Bright, fresh and delicious. Then had the spicy octopus stew. Generally I say that if a place can correctly cook pulpo, everything else is bound to be great and that held true here. Spicy, quite hearty, and chock full of delicious octopus. Then had the gnochetti which was exceptional. Imported Sardinian pecorino, bright flavorful sugo and a dang good sauce base. Loved it. Table had some seared lamb as well which was itself, exceptional. A taste of Italy not often experienced. A must check out!

Joshua Waldman: And to top it off they offered us dessert on the house! We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in San Francisco, don’t miss this place!

David Baker: . Whenever we've gone to La Ciccia, at least one of us orders this dish, and in this visit, it did not disappoint.I decided to try something different and get the fettucine with a tomato and sea urchin sauce, topped with a shaving of cured tuna heart. I love Marcia's pasta with bottarga, but I'm so glad I tried something new. The sauce was amazing -- the tomatoes didn't overpower the sea urchin, and that wonderful flavor of the sea shined right through. For dessert, we split the chocolate panna cotta. It was fine. Marcia liked it more than me. Toasted hazelnuts added a nice texture and flavor to the dish.

Alexandra Carter: My gf and I had made a reservation here for Valentine’s Day, which we’ve had for about a month. Regretfully, I had to cancel last minute due to unforeseen circumstances. I called and spoke with the owner who was incredibly respectful and understanding despite it impacting her business. I’m giving 5 stars for refreshingly great service. We have been dying to come to this restaurant which we’ve heard is a hidden gem. Hoping to make it here soon.

Hari Jagannath: The food is just fantastic. I have been here several times and have tried pretty much everything on the menu and possibly all the wines 😜.The seafood options are the best though we did try the lamb tenderloin tip as well and it was perfectly seasoned and cooked but I would still stick to the seafood options as that is what they are known for, being a Sardinian restaurant. The restaurant is small but they do have a courtyard area that would be great when the weather is nice. The servers were warm and friendly so this added to the pleasure of the evening dinner.Parking: As this is a residential area in the Upper Noe Valley, street parking can be hard find and you may need to go further up the hill to find it which can make for a “digestive” walk back after the meal 😬

Kanishka Seth: Nothing less than promised. Super service, great wine selection and delicious food. I didn’t think much of the restaurant decor, and to be fair, it was a bit underwhelming. Restaurants of this quality usually have lavish set ups and better artwork. We were fortunate to have tried Chef Seth’s ‘A tasting of vegetables’ menu. Highlights included the truffle risotto, and the kohlrabi mains. Absolutely spectacular and so flavourful. Desserts were underwhelming. The restaurant does not have a parking lot, which was also surprising, but there’s a safe-ish looking garage across the street. Pretty good overall, wonderful experience and would go back to try another feature vegetarian menu.

D Gonzales: . They really are better than some of the 3 Michelin star restaurants in the city.Dietary restrictions: They can accommodate a dietary restriction but don’t go crazy!

Christopher Barnum-Dann: Absolutely stunning restaurant. Don't sleep on this amazing place. Food was so well thought out and compelling. Balanced and perfectly executed. Service was so warm and kind and such great descriptions. Pairings were amazing, and that is very rare. Raphael was amazing.Such an all-around experience.

Chef Chris Barnum-Dann: Absolutely wonderful experience. The food was extremely delicious, well executed, beautiful, and served at the perfect temperature. My highlights were the signature rigatoni, quail, lobster, caviar course, and the desserts! The service was beyond exceptional as well. Everyone not only cared for me impeccably, they had great energy between each other. This gives way to a wonderful experience that leaves you wanting to go back.Lastly, the wine pairings! Most of my experiences with wine pairings are not meaningful and don't actually pair well with the dish.Raphael was not only an extremely knowledgeable and professional sommelier. He loves wine! I found most of all the wines paired incredibly well and he explained not only the bottle but WHY the pairing worked.Incredible nightLiterally can't wait to go back.

Mandi Drake: We had a wonderful experience! You can tell this is a local favorite. Small corner restaurant in a convenient location. Waitress was very quiet & maybe a bit shy. Starter bread was ok. Absolute best chicken picatta I have ever had! Steak was wonderful as well. Fresh veggies cooked perfectly. Pasta was simple & tasty. The crème brûlée & tiramisu was fabulous & generous potions. Definitely give it a try!

Eva D: Without a doubt the best Italian food I’ve ever eaten. The seating area outside was cozy and even had soft blankets for each guest! Service was also great - our server made us feel very welcome and the entire staff was super attentive and polite. I definitely recommend the Raviolo di ricotta if you’re here, but I’m sure the entire menu is just as amazing!

Marissa Thienes: Very tasty food and attentive service!

Wilson K: Great food and great place, quite possibly the best Italian food I've had outside of Italy! Had to take away a star because it was abnormally cold and the heater was too close to the plants to be turned on!The must order dishes are:Halibut crudoRaviolo di ricottaTagliatelle chanterelle mushrooms and creme fraicheFogline farm chicken alla diavola

Seerat singh: I finally understand why it is impossible to find reservations for this restaurant! We went there for our anniversary meal. exceptional food, and service.Dietary restrictions: They offered to make one of the pasta vegetarian to cater to our dietary restrictions

darren daigle: Heard about this wonderful place from a man walking his Husky near the beach area. We stopped by after walking through Chinatown. We ate the halibut daily special and the homemade tiramisu. Fish was fresh and locally caught tiramisu was best we ever ate. Great service and reasonable price, especially for high quality of the food!! Thanks

Giuseppe Lacitignola: I recommend it to everyone, they make you feel at home with truly Italian cuisine, impeccable fast but above all quality service. The owner Giuseppe is an exquisite and comfortable person...top coffee and to say everything is excellent 💯

Art: TRUSTI've been here a few times, I love the food, and prices are fair.Although, When coming with a large group they will automatically add an 18% service charge, which is great! I would pay that and more. My problem is that I was not made aware of it, not written in the menu, not mentioned by the server, not mentioned when paying the bill. Only written in the subtotal section of the receipt. The receipt comes with the standard bottom suggestion checkboxes to leave the standard 18%, 20%, 25% etc. ON TOP of the total with the automatic 18% service charge added.Food still good, prices are still fair, but I lost a sense of trust I had with this business.I would suggest you make your guest aware of the 18% service charge when paying, or write it on the menu.

Karol Zdebel: Highly recommend if you're looking for good Italian food

Nick Taber: Best pizza in the world. It’s as good as ever. Don’t miss out.

Denise Bostrom: My family has been enjoying Tommaso’s food — especially the pizza — since 1980; 44 years. This restaurant is the real deal, as far the Tommaso family raising children in North Beach, attending church in North Beach, and running a business in North Beach — way before I even thought about moving to North Beach. It’s a terrific restaurant with deep roots in the neighborhood.Kid-friendliness: Of course children are welcome and appreciated in Tommaso’s; it’s an Italian restaurant, owned by a warm and generous Italian family!

Sophia Lopez: Service: 5/5

Samat Davletshin: BarZotto has a nice vibe to it. Feels like your local restaurant that you can come to for no reason just to hang out. The ambiance impression I got about it from envibe definitely lived up to expectations. However, unfortunately the food was not as good as I hoped but not bad!

Denis Rodrigues: and meatballs were a little bit more spicy than it should be. Their bread is amazing, highly recommend.Their patio outside is perfect for sunny days.

Nikhil Shankar: The homemade pasta is excellent and the meatballs are also some of the best I’ve had

Andreza Faustino: Beautiful place and delicious food!

Andrea Jesse: I had the pistachio pesto pasta last night at Barzotto on Valencia St. at 24th. Both the pasta and the pesto were freshly made from scratch - delicious! The service was efficient and not in-your-face which is how I like it.

Raimi Nicole: Absolutely beautiful restaurant and amazing ambiance. Has an upscale Italian vibe that is hard to find nowadays. Ordered one of the house made pizzas and found it to be good yet the sauce was a little sweet for my liking. Had a little issue in which they added a tip for themselves for my takeout order that left me questioning the integrity of the staff and very unhappy.

Syerra Carigo: Amazing food! My family and I visited this restaurant during our trip to SF and we all loved it! It’s a nice, family-friendly restaurant in the Tenderloin. The food was absolutely delicious and our server was great! I had their pepperoni pizza, calamari, and Prosecco. No complaints from anyone in my group. It was a great experience, and we’d all go again.Kid-friendliness: Kids are allowed at this restaurant.

Frédéric Bigard: A superb welcome in French please...Well-crafted and copious dishes.

Stella Seych: . The servers spoke Italian and our food was ready very quickly. My only gripe is that I felt the portions were too small for the price, especially since they were served on paper plates and you bus your own tables when dining there. Overall I definitely recommend, but be aware it’s not a huge meal.

Mayra Castillo: The best place to have a no fuss bowl of fresh pasta with sauce. I am a fan of the meat sauce myself but they are all delicious.Parking: Parking in the Marina can be tricky on the weekend but there are plenty of paid lots you can choose.

Giraut Alexandra: but I still recommend

Laura Peters: Stopping to eat in The Italian Homemade Company was the perfect solution for what to do between films at the SF Film Festival. The pasta and sauces are handmade on site, fresh and delicious. Seating is usually easy to get because a lot of their business is take out. I had vegetarian ravioli with pesto and a fresh salad. My friend had meat ravioli with a divine creamy tomato sauce. None of the food lasted long enough to be photographed.Parking: Public transportation to Chestnut Street abounds. Ditch the car at home and take the bus.

Will S: Some reviews say it's terrible, but then you have others actually from Italy who say it's great. People forget that like other countries, there are regional differences and just because you only know one kind doesn't make the other bad.We love the food here. The lasagna is my favorite, this style is made with fresh egg noodles with ragú, bechamel, Parmesan. It is not the style made with dried noodles and layered with ricotta and mozzarella. Pappardelle with Bolognese is always delicious. Tiramisu has good flavor but needs more substance, maybe more lady fingers.Look up the differences between northern and southern Italian pasta. They have flat bread here which is also a Northern thing.

Fae LeDawson: This restaurant far exceeded my expectations! My partners shared a pesto pizza and salad, while I ordered the double pork chop special. Our salads were generously sized, we had plenty of garlic bread, and service was great. My $18 pork chops were breaded and cooked just right; with sides of vegetables, mashed potatoes, and my aforementioned salad. For the price, I was stuffed full with delicious food and we'll definitely be coming back!Vegetarian options: There's not many specific vegetarian dishes besides a few pizzas

My Google Reviews: The staff is great but the chef does not prioritize food correctly. He put DoorDash and to go orders ahead of customers that were in person and prioritized people they knew. People were waiting 40 minutes for food because the cooks were ignoring the people in the restaurant. They got food out to a regularly that showed up after seven other people who were waiting.People that came after were given free food to hold them over but those who’d been waiting were given nothing.

Krista Howell: I have been frequenting this place for almost 20 years. The chef is consistent and kind. The wait staff has always been polite and efficient. The menu has changed quite a bit over the years, but was told by staff that you can order whatever you want, and as long as they have the ingredients, they will make it. I have always loved their chicken Piccata. It is a huge portion with two large pieces of chicken, perfectly cooked veggies, and your choice of pasta, or potato, served with a generous and ingredient packed salad. The prices are extremely fair, especially considering the hip location. Their breakfasts are also fantastic. They have done some remodeling, but kept it simple. They have an updated and clean more spacious bathroom. I definitely recommend supporting this old school long standing small business.

The Simple Travels: First off, how we were greeted and welcomed was far more impressive than our table service was. Not that it was poor, just not as lively and as friendly. Ok… enough of that. The visit was certainly worth it. Fior d’Italia was recommended by a friend and certainly being able to claim we ate at the oldest active restaurant in the U.S. made it a must visit. We very much enjoyed our meal and visit.

Julien Clavel: . For a very acceptable value for money. The service was perfect, kind and very commercial. As a family of 6: I recommend. Thanks again.Kid-friendliness: No children's menu but they have "split" a dish for 2. Adorable, without being asked.

Connor Scallon: Wonderful place with wonderful service. We had pasta and chose their house specialties. They were amazing.Book reservation, the place fills up fast.

Maggie Sinnig: Last night at Trattoria Contadina was one of my favorite dining experiences I’ve had in San Francisco. The vibe in the restaurant felt so warm and welcoming and it seemed like everyone knew each other. The service from all of the staff was incredible, from helping us choose our wine by letting us sample three tastings, to never letter our wine or water glass empty. Finally the food was amazing. The pastas were perfectly cooked, the sauces so tasty, and the fresh bread was lovely. My personal favorites from our meal were the Clams & Nduja, the meatballs in the tomato cream sauce, and the Carlesimo pasta. This neighborhood Italian spot just became my new favorite and stands out amongst the numerous others in North Beach.

Andy Rector: Fast and attentive service, and tasty food!Went with a group of four on a Thursday night, Trattoria was lively, but not loud. The mushrooms, shrimp scampi, and bruschetta were all tasty. I'd recommend the gnocchi with the tomato sauce as a main! The only downside to the space is there's only a single bathroom, so depending on how busy it is, there could be a line.

Antoine ZARUBA: Home feeling like in Italy. Always happy to support serious business owners who provide great service and delicious food!

Bryan Thouvenel: Authentic Italian flavors, cooking, and experience.Wonderful and friendly staff that explain the history of the restaurant, the process of making the food from scratch, and so gracious and prideful in knowing you were satisfied. This was the best Italian food I've ever had. It's a must stop for anyone in San Francisco. Highly recommended!

Nishu Sing: but has the energy of a lady much younger. She was beyond endearing and impressive, and treated all the waiters like sons. It was clear she is loved. She personally recommended a number of dishes. Two that stood out as the best I've ever had of their types:- Gnocchi

caroline cleland: Had dinner here after a wonderful vacation. Was top notch in service and ambience. Not too mention how authentic the food is. Delicious and fresh. Felt like being in Italy surrounded by family in a family run and owned restaurant. We met the lovely Lusia. Try her wine it was delicious. We had our bottle signed by the lovely lady.

Andrea Paullus: We were traveling to SF for a few days and looked up good reviews for Italian food. Came across this place on tik tok. Booked a reservation online with open table. I don’t know what happened but we got there and they were not aware of our reservation and had another res for 3 at the same time. We opted to sit outdoors vs waiting 20 min. At first i was super annoyed because what’s the point of booking a res in advance if you have to sit outside in less than ideal temps. But they had the little heat lamps and the wind is blocked by a window. The table service was quick and friendly. There were three of us and we ordered 4 main dishes because we wanted to share and try the lobster ravioli in addition to having our favorite items. The waiter/owner questioned why we had 4 mains and i told him why. When he brought out our garlic bread and bruschetta he bright the lobster ravioli with it 🤩 such a great idea. Everything was delicious. He made suggestions for wine. I had a merlot. Very good. We ordered the lasagna, gnocchi in vodka sauce, and chicken parm. Everything was super tasty and fresh. We all left feeling so satisfied but yet wanting more because it was so good! You need to go here! They were busy and have limited seating. I would say make a reservation but…. lol

Praneeth W: Kid-friendliness: Great kids menu, everyone is there with kids so no pressure on kids running about or noise. Colors, lights, games are very kid focused.

Carla Deasy: Dietary restrictions: Non dairy options available for me. They were able to work with friends. Nightshade allergies.Kid-friendliness: They have kids eat free Tuesday. Seemed very welcoming to kids.

Deb Z: The hostess was rude. She was not prepared to open and made us wait outside in the cold and rain because it was time to open and she had not set up the entrance way properly. She was totally dismissive to us when we asked if we could enter after your open time. On a high note, the food was delicious. It is a bit pricey but the quality of the food is good.

Paula Sadler: Amazing food. Pretty sure they had live jazz. Loved it!

Abhishek Singh: We were visiting SF for couple of days and wanted to grab something not very spicy and a quick bite. We found this place close to our hotel and went to give it a try.Since I been to Italy recently, I was all set to compare the food with my Italian food experience and I will not lie but was amazed with the strong flavor and authenticity of the food. We started with bread and olive oil based sauce..very amazing. My wife loved the pizza and insisted to go again...capelinni was little softer in aroma but overall it was a nice experience. Service was very good.good staff and honored all our requests.. would definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area..

Carol Smith: Excellent risotto - variety of complex flavors in each bite. I recieved quick friendly service and a lovely drink. Just what I was looking for.

Peter Park: Good happy hour, great service!

Joshua Wettergreen: My $30 spaghetti was exceptionally tasty and fulfilling. But too expensive

Kai Fabian: Tasty Italian food with an American note. A tad expensive. The waiters appear to be quite stressed, so that I did not get into a relaxing mood. Main course arrived before starters were finished. Overall okay with slight potential for improvement.

Trevor Canavan: I loved my food, and the atmosphere was perfectly fancy without being over the top and making me feel out of place. Only minor complaint is finding the restrooms since they're down a couple halls and in a hotel lobby. But that doesn't matter. Great spot.

Bob Ng: Very nice old school restaurant, traditional and non-traditional Italian options. Enjoyed the happy hour drinks and dinner. Will be going back when we see Harry Potter.

Lee TheEclecticGoddess: Flavorful food
