Cynthia Colas: The service is superb and the place gives off a very southern soul vibe to it, but the food isn't quite flavoral. It's missing seasoning. I would recommend that the cook works on putting more season into the food.
UV: I need a deep dark roux in my gumbo. Brendas gumbo was more Filé powder based which didnt really do it for me.But I ABSOLUTELY loved the oysters. I dont even know if i EVER want to eat raw oysters again. That BBQ sauce one was BOMBHowever props on the beignets. You're about halfway there. You need the hole in the middle. But it is incredibly difficult unless there's one person dedicating themselves to the beignet dough. So I can't blame you for that.
Alexandria Ulve: were everything I wanted out of a New Orleans classic. We grabbed a few to take on the flight home. The oysters had good flavor but the texture was a 7/10. I would purchase them again but I’ve had better. The service was attentive even during busy brunch. The atmosphere makes me feel like I’m back in New Orleans. Other items we ate that were also phenomenal and worth the mention: garlic spinach, gumbo, and spicy seafood pasta.
Forrest Spellman: The crawdad beignets are to die for... and everything from appetizers to entrees is delicious. We were helped by a friendly waitress. She deserved every last dollar tipped!
Phil M: Anytime a friend comes to town I recommend going to this place because of all great options they have. I've tried most of the things they've had on the menu. Today it was the pork belly and grits and the beignet flight. My friend went with a more sweet option of bananas foster French toast and Ube beignet. We both ordered the molasses coffee as well, they gave us oat milk on the side for a great lactose free option. I shared my flight and we were both gladly stuffed at the end. There are so many things on the menu that make the choice difficult every time I go and the wait staff is always so great.
Wayne Earl: The food was soooo good!

Fae LeDawson: . The catfish and grits were excellent, the andouille sausage was amazing, and the beignets were supreme. Service was impeccable! I'm definitely going again, with a reservation instead of blindly trusting Google's busyness meter. Expect to pay $30/person, with the amount increasing or decreasing depending on appetizers and desserts and beverages.Vegetarian options: The menu has vegetarian options, but meat is integral to many other dishes. The chef and cooks are obviously talented so every dish would be delicious. I think this is suitable for groups that include vegetarians, but if a majority are vegetarian, I'd recommend a place with more options.Dietary restrictions: The staff seem willing and eager to accommodate requestsWheelchair accessibility: I don't remember if the front door is powered. Tables are tightly packed in, and the hallway to the back patio is tight with 90° turns. Bar seating is elevated so you'd need a table.
Connor Mitchell: Best southern food in SF by a country mile. We've been for dinner several times, just tried brunch this morning. The johnny cakes were the best dish I've tasted this year; they came with 2 but we inhaled one before I had time to take a picture. Quality mimosas/bloody Marys too. At this point I feel confident saying anything on their menu is delicious. Service is excellent, atmosphere is relaxing, hard to ask for more.
saltfishing: I used it for breakfastVery kind and all the food was delicious
Carey: One of the best brunches in Bay Area! Must try their beignets, it was delicious, the granny smith apple one was the best. Red beans and rice were tasty, not too spicy. Benedict with grits was good. Cute pigs decoration around. Patio looks nice. Cool atmosphere. Friendly service. Would definitely recommend it if you want to try something different for the brunch.
algothal: Most delicious breakfast we've had in a long time 3The two plates we had were perfectly balanced and well combined. They did not only fill our bellies and warm our hearts and soul, but were also very pretty to look at! We're so sad that we don't have Brenda's Meat & Three back in Germany and we hope it won't take us another 6 years to come back!
Tyler Neumann: because the first time I ate one here it was pillowy and heavenly, I went home and told everyone it was the best biscuit I ever ate in my life, no joke! Tonight it was super hard and crumbly. Not sure what happened, but it disappointed me a bit. I’ll def come back because the food is so amazing overall, was just a bit unhappy this time in that regard. Hope I can experience the heavenly fluff once more!

Jim Scott: Always great food and drinks, exceptional service, and great views of the ferry harbor. Our server, Jim, is a real pro - on top of his game. The house barrel aged old fashioned is always a must have. We've been there several times and have never had anything less than fantastic.

Tri Vo: Hardknox Cafe is a must-visit for anyone who loves soul food. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, featuring standout dishes like fried chicken and waffles, tender oxtails, and delicious ribs. The French toast and Eggs Benedict were also exceptional. The food was delicious across the board, and the customer service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend for a satisfying dining experience!

Aleatha Far: The order came out super fast! the food are fresh!
๖ۣۜSemiUnique: Breakfast food was a little meh, though the Soul Food and Chicken aspect was very delicious. Fish sandwich is also phenomenal, must try!
Diane Bunn: and the waffles we're crispy & fluffy. Great size to split, which I did, but I was tempted eat all of it. The sides we had were all very delicious. I like that the desserts
Joshua Basrai: Take out only but wow incredible. Went with the og meal. Food took awhile, but worth the wait. The syrup could be better, but I had no problem standing outside and enjoying my plate. It looks like they were preparing meals for less fortunate community members, so respect on that front. Perhaps that is what made it take awhile.
Davon Terry: Excellent customer service. Excellent food choice. The red velvet pancakes are really good and delicious.Dine in: No Outdoor seating: Yes Takeout: Yes Delivery: Yes Curbside pickup: Yes …

Fae LeDawson: This cute restaurant has solid Cajun food! The chicken jambalaya was nicely portioned and had tons of delicious chicken and andouille. My chicken po boy was pretty good, although I wish the fry sauce was more interesting. The fried okra was also well prepared. Prices were recently increased and entrees are now $16-$21. The water glasses are oddly small so you'll be refilling often from the carafe. Although there's no "wow" factor, this is a solid option for Cajun food.Vegetarian options: There are a handful of vegetarian options, including a veggie burger, but options are overall limited.Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is compact but there's only a few tables. There's also a few outdoor tables, and all could accommodate 2 wheelchair users when the chairs are moved. The front door is not powered but there are no other steps. The area is hilly so it might be difficult to wheel around, but at least there's a bus stop in front of the restaurant so you could unload there.
tex mcmahon: Nice place! I recommend the shrimp with garlic bread
Deborah D. Johnson: The Seafood Jambalaya was very good. Plenty of fresh plump Seafood in it. I also had the collard greens and cornbread which I took home. The Swamp ice tea was delicious, filled with fresh fruit. I give it a 4.5 overall.Parking: It's locates in a residential area so parking is somewhat limited as it is all over San Francisco. I managed to get a park on the hill.closeby, it was around 1:00 PM. The time of day will make a difference.
Stephanie Plese: Best of the best! Go to place on the hill! We’ve tried the po boys, jambalaya, fish’s and chips, muscles and gumbo and everything has been amazing! The owner is always so kind and they have outdoor seating for the folks with dogs!
Brett Marinoff: Food: 4/5
Mark Allen: This place is worth going out of your way to try. I have had most of the menu and yet to have anything less than excellent. Their fish and chips are by far the best in San Francisco or for that matter London. I lived next to one of the most popular fish and chip spots in London...Po Boys way better. Everything else from the Jambalaya to the fried chicken are also excellent.. It is a low key neighborhood spot so nothing fancy but prices are fair, portions large and food consistently awesome.
Pamela Vong: Great authentic Cajun food. One of the best fried okras I've had. Loved the gumbo too.Food: 5/5 …

Antwaniysha Anderson: One of the best southern food venues in the bay area, maybe even the golden state. Appreciate the superb customer service every time. Love it here!
Pam Debi: Chicken sandwich was delicious! All portions huge and prices reasonable.
Carlos Bedolla: Good burgers.
Jeff Sinclair: Loved this place. Came for dinner one night last week with a small group, everyone had an exceptional meal and the atmosphere in the place was great too.I had the hamburger and one of their draft beers, both of which were exceptional. Will definitely be coming back again.
Ben Schultz: Fantastic local beer selection and excellent food. The fried chicken is really good.
Stephanie Hancock: Extremely fast service, no wait to be seated, food was hot and yummy. A great example of a restaurant doing it right!

Allie Kumar: We popped in for brunch this morning shortly after they opened. We ordered food for takeout before but today was our first time dining inside. It's a cute place with a big bar and a lot of space. The food was good and the staff was friendly and attentive. We were pleasantly surprised by how inexpensive the mimosas were. Looks like we found another go to spot. We will definitely be back.
Catherine Malave: Best meal ever! Lovely and tasty food without allergens. They have a soul and heart in their service. Actually safe and amazing for celiac diners!Dietary restrictions: Their website has ingredients lists. It was very helpful to check out some menu items in advance. Gluten free and dairy free options are amazing!
Lindsey Masi: Firefly was our first dinner in San Francisco, and it was a great choice! All of the staff was knowledgeable and helpful about allergens. They marked the menu so that I could avoid the few items with gluten or soy. Most of the menu was top 5 allergen free. We loved our dinner and the dessert was spectacular! The chef is amazing at creating complex flavors and new takes on traditional dishes. I would recommend this place to anyone!
SN P2: As a longtime and frequent visitor to the City, I returned to Firefly last evening to reminisce about the decades of staying at a home on 24th St. Although the “vibe” on 24th St. has changed somewhat over the years, the cozy intimate setting, welcoming and helpful wait staff at Firefly has not. And neither has the excellent quality of the food or its preparation or the variety of menu items. Last evening I enjoyed the baby green salad with golden beets, avocado, and a citrusy dressing which was fresh, delicious, well balanced and textured -and a meal in itself. My partner raved about the creamy curry squash soup. We also split an order of the fried chicken which came with mashed potatoes, horseradish coleslaw and cornbread. The chicken had a spicy crunchy crust, the mashed potatoes were silken, the cornbread arrived with butter and honey, and the coleslaw had a tasty hint of heat.Everything was filling and delicious. So much so that we had no room for dessert. But dining there again was like meeting up with a treasured longtime friend. Thank you Firefly.
