4worldlovers: Two major variations exist: rhythm (jazz) tap and Broadway tap. Broadway tap focuses on dance; it is widely performed in musical theater. Rhythm tap focuses on musicality, and practitioners consider themselves to be a part of the jazz tradition.

Ballet is an artistic dance form, originating in the Italian Renaissance courts of the 15th century; it later developed into a concert dance form in France and Russia. It is now a widespread, highly technical form of dance.

Jazz dancers “feel and fill out” impromptu variations based on the feelings of the performer and the audience’s response to the music. Jazz is the physical embodiment of the popular music of any given time.

Hip-hop – street dance styles that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture; includes a wide range of styles primarily breaking, locking and popping. Breakdance – a style of acrobatic dancing that originated in the streets and is characterized by intricate footwork, spinning headstands and improvised virtuosic movements.

Our Primary Program classes are designed for children ages 3+ and incorporate fun and imaginative activities to help students develop both technique and creative artistry. Ballet and creative movement is a great activity for kids and toddlers! From socializing to improving coordination, your little ones will benefit from our Primary Program classes.

CBC’s Conservatory Division is designed for aspiring dancers ages 8+ who have a strong passion for dance and would like more opportunities to grow and excel in their dance education. Following the Vaganova method, Conservatory Division students lay down a solid foundation of technique, strength, and artistry to ensure their development into a well-rounded dancer.

The Open Division offers a variety of classes for students who want to enjoy the benefits of dance at a recreational level. Students will get to explore different forms of movement and have the opportunity to develop artistic creativity at their own pace, while learning in a warm and supportive environment.

Tutu Performing Arts is proud to offer fun & exciting classes for ages two years old and up. We offer a supportive, inclusive environment where all dancers are welcome.

Not only do we offer classes at our Roseville studio but we have several onsite preschool locations for early dance education.


Dancing from a young age allows children to feel that sense of accomplishment and acceptance early on, and provides even more years to grow in their skills.
