Jason Nguyen: This is by far the best authentic pho spot in San Jose! The broth is rich in flavor and the size of it will make you full. The bo ne dish mentions it takes 20 minutes, but even during busy lunch hours it only took 10 minutes. The bo ne meat is fresh and soft while the baguette adds a nice crunch. The com chay ga nuong dish is also a must try. These dishes overall were great and I came back more than once. The service is fast and easy as well.

P J: Really good food but not one vegan main dish available!

Fei Yu: - came out on a metal grill with fish filet chucks on a bed of herbs and onions. The fish was fried well, juicy and fresh. I was expecting a whole fish instead of chucks to get more flavor of the fish instead of breading and herbs. Tasted like it was basa? Fun to wrap it in lettuce and mint and cucumber that came on the side. Had to add some sriracha and fish sauce. Also got the chef special beef stew w/ rice noodles

Ady: Had to try the grilled fish wraps. Totally worth the hype !! I recommend trying out the green leaves separately before hand as they may not suit your palate and hence spoil the wrap. It’s a fun meal experience with your loved ones to bond over DIY wraps. The fish comes in a bed of dill and onion with a flame base . If you want the fire out sooner, please do so as it may char the onions otherwise. Just the grilled fish by itself is so good too. They give a fermented fish sauce with rice crispy. I suggest tasting a drop first. This place is a gem.

Saja Shaheen: Vegetarian options: There are three or four dishes for vegetarians so not too many options.

Kimberly Nguyen: .Presentation was pretty.Chicken was pretty dry though 😔Came out to be $21.32 with 15% tipParking is limited, I think there’s more behind the restaurant. A bit tough to find off the street… kind of a stand alone building in a tiny business center area. Will definitely come back to try other dishes!

Chelle T: My husband wanted to be reminded what mi quang tasted like. I wanted to try a couple of appetizers. We ordered mi quang with fried fish. Tasty, almost seems like a chicken broth with the noodles. I think I would like yellow noodles to the fish, it has more of a bite. I liked the fried gio and banh beo. Went again with friends for dinner. Fun seafood noodles. One with udon noodles in a broth and a dry vermicelli noodle. Both tasty. We doubled the banh beo order which were great. A bo kho with banh mi bread was tasty as well.

Vicky Leung: , Mi Cao Lau, and Mi Quang Ca. Everything was very delicious and came out quickly. The Mi Cao Lau was very flavorful but a bit salty for our preference.Service was also very friendly and good on a slow Saturday night. They have a parking lot. They also have a karaoke stage that it looks like Friday is the fun night.

Steph Eats n Travels: I'm a Vietnamese food blogger, and Mi Quang Co Thao is a hidden gem in north San Jose you should know about.🍜 Mi quang is a central Vietnamese dish from Quang Nam region consisting of flat rice noodle, turmeric, pork, shrimp, toasted peanuts, sesame rice crackers, and hard-boiled quail eggs. The mi quang here is solid. 👌 I also have to mention their bánh bèo; most people go to Hue Restaurant for bánh bèo, but you need to go here for them. Sooo much bigger, more intricate, and flavorful than Hue Restaurant. One thing I don't recommend here is the bun bo hue. It's mediocre; go to BBH An Nam for that. But the mi quang, hell yeah. You have to try it. Show the Bay Area food scene that you're not a normie.

Matt Hamilton: Introduced an old friend. It's a good restaurant which serve vietnamese food. Banh Mi is pretty good. But is even more special when I met my really good buddy, Rylan! He served as a missionary in Viet Nam many years ago. We built up the relationship over years. It's just like before, same food, but many thousands of miles away. Although he lost some Vietnamese, I still love him. He is a soldier now, in US army. What a historic day!I remember this moment forever!

Thuy-Vu Nguyen: Good service with attentive and fast staff. We love Bun Bo Hue really authentic. Other food like Com Tam Suon and Banh Beo are ok

Coy Tran: It seems they've got a great new limited time and supply promotion: choice of 4 popular entrees for $12 takeout only or choice of 4 appetizers $5.I tasted their mì quảng and it seems like a full portion. Tastes great! I'll try other dishes next time.

Zamir Mamytov: , it's a dish I could easily devour an entire order of by myself--it's just that delicious.Equally satisfying is the banh ram it, featuring a delightful contrast between the fried chewy doughnut base and the steamed shrimp dumpling on top. While each order comes with three pieces, every bite is incredibly filling.Rounding out the appetizer selection is the banh bot loc, featuring tapioca dumplings filled with shrimp and pork. Chewy and slightly sticky, each order includes five dumplings alongside pork rinds to add textural balance. For our main course, we indulged in the renowned bun bo hue, opting for oxtail. The resulting soup was a comforting blend of flavors, with the expected spiciness complemented by lime, mint, and bean sprouts for a refreshing touch. The noodles were perfectly cooked and well-balanced with generous portions of meat, pork blood, and oxtail, ensuring a satisfying meal.Despite its popularity, Hue manages to maintain fast and efficient service. Despite a Saturday lunch rush with six parties ahead of us, we were seated within 10 minutes. Ordering was a breeze, and our food arrived promptly thereafter. We found it easier to order in person rather than navigating the online ordering system via QR code. Additionally, the provision of physical menus simplified the selection process. The staff also maintained cleanliness and ensured our water glasses were topped up promptly. While the restaurant tends to be lively and bustling, we found a comfortable corner to enjoy our meal without feeling crowded. The modern and minimalist interior design adds to the overall ambiance. Despite its unassuming exterior, the restaurant offers ample seating space, extending deep into the building. In conclusion, I eagerly anticipate my next visit to Hue! If you're considering dining here, I wholeheartedly recommend it--it's an experience not to be missed.

Douglas Chan-Wing: Really good food. Service was quick and attentive. Amazing bun bo hue. Would recommend the appetizer dish #1 and #2Parking: Plenty of parking

Sou Saelee: Wait time for food was 15 minutes, there were ample seating however the food was okay.Parking: It was a challenge to find parking spot, there are multiple restaurants within this plaza.

Lingchao Mao: The best pho I ever had. The few chicken soup broth is super good, you can tell the difference with the standard beef pho in other restaurants. The spring roll also very good. Roasted pork is fresh and tender, much bette quality than other restaurants.

richard rey: One of the best Pho noodles in California! If you are passing by the South Bay, this should not be missed!Parking: Parking is always available!

M P: Visited Pho Mai on a bustling Saturday night and found the place nearly at capacity, yet the ambiance was welcoming right from the start. We were greeted promptly upon entry and given the flexibility to choose our own seating, a small yet appreciated gesture that set a positive tone for the evening. The ordering process is a bit unconventional—you place your orders at the register—but it’s straightforward and the staff there couldn’t have been friendlier. The food was simply delicious, showcasing authentic flavors that resonated well with our palates. However, patience is advisable as the preparation time leaned towards the longer side, and dishes didn’t arrive simultaneously. Despite this minor hiccup, the quality and taste of the food were undeniably worth the wait. All in all, Pho Mai offers a delightful dining experience with its friendly service and flavorful dishes. Just be prepared for a slight wait, especially during busy hours, which is a small trade-off for the quality meal that awaits.

Will Feetham: I've had outside of Hue Vietnam where they originate. The proprietor give me directions to a place in Hue to try them and I made the trip while I was in Vietnam. After trying them all over the Bay area, in Orange County and in Paris France these are second only to the ones from the restaurant in Vietnam.Incredibly friendly staff, outstanding food, what more could you possibly want?

Vinh Vincent Bui: Recommended dishes Duck Noodle Soup

Leng Ooi: This is one of the only few places in the Bay Area that sells Hainan style boiled duck. Amazingly well made ducks too, without the gamey smell of the duck and perfectly tender and moist. The menu has duck organ porridge and duck fat rice, which are both recommended if you are a duck meat lover. Nothing purer in duck taste than boiled duck.

anita wong: I was looking for a place for lunch in the area and this spot came up in my Yelp search. I tried the duck salad, banh beo, and banh bot loc. I would definitely recommend coming here if you like duck salad. Their salad is pretty big and the pieces of duck are huge and meaty compared to a few other places I've tried. I would definitely come back to try some other items if I'm in the area. I wouldn't recommend coming here in the summer because the restaurant faces the sun and there is no AC or fans on that hot summer day I visited.

Viet Nguyen: They are temporarily closed until 03/12/24

momo: CASH ONLY PEOPLE!This place is fabulous. I purchased the lowest amount of the freshest and tasties banh beo from the nice ladies behind the counter. $9 will get you 50 pieces ...but I could only finish half. They also generously give you a big amount of nuoc mam. Which is great. The parking here is incredibly small, so get here early for your order.

Trang Thu: Great mini bánh bèo. The fish sauce comes with bánh bèo is really good too. Affordable price. I got a tray of 100 mini bánh bèo for $17 or a box of 50 bánh bèo for $9. To-go only. Pre order before you come and pick up. Great for party tray. Down sides: very small limited parking. The fish sauce is not enough for me lol. But i can buy extra for a few dollars more which is fine. Highly recommend.

Jack Luong: Best Banh Beo in town. Fish sauce makes big difference.

Chanh Pham: Very good mini banh beo. Sometimes they get so busy, they take over phone order bu do not full fill it. Then it'll become first come first serve.

Alisa B.: My friend brought these to a pot luck and they were great! I really enjoyed the flavor of the dried shrimp and the mung bean. The texture of the bánh bèo was pretty decent considering it was sitting on a buffet table for a few hours. Drown them in some fish sauce and it's pretty decent! Definitely an affordable option for parties.

Linda Huynh: Excellent!

Toon Tran: Quan Hue Restaurant, located in Lion Plaza at 1818 Tully Rd #116, San Jose, CA, is an absolute gem for anyone who loves authentic Vietnamese cuisine. My recent dining experience here was exceptional, and I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a genuine taste of Hue in San Jose. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and seated promptly despite the restaurant being quite busy. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with tasteful decor that reflects the rich cultural heritage of Vietnam. The menu at Quan Hue is extensive, offering a wide variety of traditional dishes from the Hue region. We started with the Bánh Bèo, which were delicate and flavorful, topped with crunchy bits and savory shrimp. The combination of textures and flavors was delightful and set the tone for the rest of the meal. For the main course, we ordered the Bún Bò Huế, which was the highlight of our dining experience. The broth was rich and aromatic, with just the right amount of spice, and the beef was tender and succulent. The dish was served with fresh herbs and vegetables, which added a refreshing contrast to the hearty broth. It was, without a doubt, one of the best Bún Bò Huế I've ever had.We also tried the Cơm Hến, a lesser-known dish that's a specialty of Hue. It was an intriguing mix of flavors and textures, featuring baby clams, crispy pork skin, peanuts, and a medley of fresh herbs over rice. The dish was both satisfying and unique, showcasing the culinary diversity of central Vietnam. The service at Quan Hue was top-notch. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to explain the dishes and make recommendations. Despite the busy environment, our food arrived promptly, and our water glasses were never empty. The prices at Quan Hue are very reasonable, especially considering the quality and authenticity of the food. The portions are generous, and we left feeling completely satisfied. In addition to the fantastic food and service, the restaurant's location in Lion Plaza is convenient, with ample parking available. This makes it easy to access, even during peak dining hours.Overall, Quan Hue Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Vietnamese cuisine in San Jose. The delicious food, excellent service, and welcoming atmosphere make it a standout dining destination. Whether you're a long-time fan of Vietnamese food or trying it for the first time, Quan Hue will not disappoint.

Christina Dang: . I would also go out of my way for her banh bot loc because it tasted fresh and not reheated like other Hue restaurants in the area. I did wish her banh khot was crispier but that's a personal preference. And the bun cha nem nuong was good bang for the buck.I could go on. Like we also loved the tea - a lovely finishing touch to a hearty meal. Anyways, we'll have to come back for the banh xeo since she bent over the counter just to get our attention while at our table and told us we should try this dish next 😂Dietary restrictions: There are gluten-free options.

Chelle T: This is a favorite meal to share. The appetizers and soup from Hue, central Viet Nam. I usually order banh xeo, crispy crepe-like outer layer with shrimp, pork and bean sprouts, wrapped with lettuce mint and cilantro. It also includes other produce whose names escape me. This time I requested banh khot. Similar to banh xeo but chewy center and crispy edges. The cook's specialty. Tasty and full of texture especially wrapped with produce. Service is friendly.

Ruby Elk Grove: Absolutely delicious food and the owner is extremely friendly! Has been cooking for over 30 years and you can still see the passion.

A: Come for the #9 Thit Nuong BBQ Pork.

Bob Lou: Delicious bánh khọt! Came out fresh and crispy. The quality of everything is excellent and I'm craving some more already.

Tiffany Phu: the sauce is delicious. I buy party trays of this and everyone always loves it. Recommend to order ahead of time because they sometimes run out.I’ve tried this banh khot and banh xeo not bad but banh uot is the best!

Donny Pusawong: in the former Washington Bakery spot! But, I'm also sad that many places can't make it due to not being able to hire staff, rising food costs, or just owners retiring😔 I love it when places have been around for long time and continue to strive to the purpose of making people happy through food.Quan Hue

Nate Ulsh: . Fantastic ownership and great service.

Leo Chan: Came all the way down from SF just to eat here. Hidden gem in the food court!!! Mi Quang and Mi Vit Tiem is daaabombbb

J M: provides the best experience to her customers! She recommended her specialities, advised us on how to best enjoy the dishes, and made sure our entire plates were presented perfectly. The Mi Quang noodles were TO DIE FOR! If I hadn’t ordered 4 other things, I would have eaten another bowl of these meaty, turmeric, silky noodles. The BBQ pork rolls in rice paper had the most succulent meat and an amazingly savory sauce. The banh xeo

Irene Tang: .They also do catering at the same price.Great plaza for Vietnamese food because everyone can pick the dishes they want and you can share. Not a lot of tables but it’s covered and there’s AC. There’s also dessert in the plaza too.

Ken L: My go-to place for bun bo hue. Only place that still tastes good but don’t really break the bank. Comes with a generous amount of noodles and meat that can potentially feed 2 people.

With this being close to San Jose’s Vietnam Town, Nha Trang serves authentic dishes that take me back home.

My Le: We were craving for family style meals that included the sweet and sour tamarind catfish soup and braised catfish in a clay pot. My friend who’s a local, recommended this place. We got:-sweet and sour tamarind catfish soup-braised cat fish clay pot-salt and pepper wings-shaken beef w pasta-pork spring rollsAll dishes tasted fantastic. Everything was so tasty. Reminds me of home. The pork spring rolls were huge! Each roll came with its own sauce. The locals compare the sauce equivalent to Brodard put I disagree. We were the first table to get seated when they opened at 5. When we left at 7:30, every single table was occupied including the tables outdoor. Definitely a staple restaurant that the locals go to.In the end, they gave us complimentary dessert. The dessert was herbal jelly with chia seeds.
