Steve Evans: Seven adults with varying culinary tastes enjoyed a delightful Cambodian dining experience at Angkor Chef on Thursday of this past week. The manager, Kent was very helpful in advising us in the "spicy" levels of various dishes. I am partial to low-level spicy and was pleased with the Angkor Noodles while others in our party enjoyed the higher-spice dishes like Tuk Prahok and Ku Tev Cha. One of their signature dishes is Salmon Skin, which I have never seen anywhere else. The Head Chef, Channy, visited us several times to inquire as to our dining pleasure. The restaurant is on the smaller side which was nice in that we could easily hear each other, yet neighboring tables were not so close that we were packed in el-bow to elbow with other guests. The decor is modern, yet also modest in tone. Reservations might be recommended for a larger party like ours, particularly on a weekend. Parking was extremely close - a major public parking garage is right across the street. The metro system is also convenient as it runs down First Street in front of the restaurant. It was well worth our drive from Fremont!

Thia Le: This is one of my Favorite Vietnamese Restaurants in San Jose bay Area.I always swing by here during Lunchtime, where it is nomally pretty crowded! Although this Restaurant is quite small and Parking Space might be very difficult at times, it is absolutely worth it for me since the food is always so great!I really like this Restaurant alot! Just down the street off of Alum Rock, which is only about few minutes away from me, that is another reason why I didn't mind coming over here to eat.I normaly ordered their Hu Tieu Nam Vang, Hu Tieu Trieu Chau, Mi Trieu Chau or sometime both Hu Tieu and Mi combination. Definitely like the portion size! I can enjoy a nice lunch and always have more then enough later for Dinner!

Kathy Nguyen: The food and service are great, but the one issue I have is the order that the food comes out. We got canh chua with a variety of side dishes. The canh chua was the last thing to come out by far, which doesn't flow right because it's the main dish. I was not even hungry when it came out since everything else had already been served long before.All dishes are packed with flavor and well made. The fish in the canh chua comes out pretty raw so give it plenty of time to cook. Suggestion: Cook the fish a bit more before serving it with canh chua. I recommend ordering individual dishes that you want instead of being limited to the sets.

Nam Ng: If you're looking for a close-to-authentic Phnom Penh noodle and pork, this place is it. I think the owner is Cambodian as well. The seasonings for a bowl of hu tiu is on point, not too sweet nor too salty. Keep your mouth salivating and yearning for another bite right away. Pork ribs are almost melt in your mouth. I usually submerge my shrimps and squids in the soup for a sweeter broth. Pork balls can be a hit-n-miss for me. Nothing worth to write home about. Service might not be up to US standards but you shouldn't care about service when the food is this great! At least, we don't mind bad service back in Southeast Asia. Truly a mom-n-pop vibe for Cambodian dishes.Parking: Can be crowded during the weekends. Your car might get scratches from other people. Don't mind the homeless man.
