Overall, I had a great experience with Oak Hill. I would definitely recommend them to any family that is in the position of choosing a cemetery, and the cemetery is just so peaceful and beautiful it brings me reassurance that my loved ones graves are taken care of and well maintenance and again, I really appreciate all of Que's help with everything!
Gretchen is a phenomenal, caring, and thoughtful funeral arranger. She exceeded my expectations, and was a comfort at every stage in the process. From the first phone call, the entire team at Oak Hill was very professional and kind. I liked that my Super Mom wouldn't be moved around to different facilities because the care center and crematorium are located on the same site. Haley, who is another funeral arranger, stepped in and assisted when my schedule was outside of Gretchen's hours, and I was surprised by her professionalism and level of caring as well. Gretchen and the staff at Oak Hill put a lot of love into their work. I would recommend this team to anyone. They are simply the best. In my time of loss, they were truly there to help support me through my grief while assisting me to plan the best service possible to celebrate the amazing and extraordinary life of my Super Mom. Veronica Keller: This review is specifically for Lavana Jenkins in her current capacity as a Funeral Director and as a human being. The truth is we were misinformed by others and it caused an overwhelming amount of stress and anxiety on top of our recent loss. As soon as Lavana Jenkins stepped in to help, things w/ Oak Hill took a completely different turn for the better. She made the difference and prevented us from having to possibly consider legal action to protect our pre planned contract terms. Her calm, respectful and patient demeanor -her soft skills- were exactly what we needed. And coupled with her extensive education from her own personal family business background w/ funeral homes and her education as a Funeral Director and a mortician...and her aspirations to further her education even more, enabled her to give us nothing but the best service possible. She identified the miscommunication, acknowledged it, was not defensive, explained why or how miscommunication transpired and she took the time to right the wrongs herself. My mom and I felt she was in total control the whole time and very compassionate and kind which really matters in this industry. Working w/ Lavana, I actually felt happy and forgot about the deeply sorrowful grief of my Dad passing just a week before. She kept it professional and compassionate. She also was there for us with some follow up questions and answers and I can tell she is an extremely busy, highly needed person but she reached out to me directly after our meeting for info. I needed. Lavana Jenkins as a person and a professional is a high quality person, educated, kind and has all the makings of a very reputable leader in that industry. She made a corporation like Dignity/Oak Hill feel like a personalized, one on one, intimate family funeral parlor. I had the opportunity to work with Christy at Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel for services for the sudden passing of my husband. I greatly appreciate the empathy and patience Christy had shown to my family and I as she explained all that they had to offer. I told her what it was that I wanted and she reassured me that she could do what I envisioned. I was a little nervous about how my husband would look when we got to see him one last time. But Lima did an amazing job, he looked like himself. He just looked like he was peacefully sleeping. I am immensely grateful for them giving me him looking peacefully sleeping as my last image of him before I said my final goodbye. I was so happy with the care I received from Christy and everyone at Lima Family that I have just recently made pre-arrangements with them. David Tabora: The team here helped us have a beautiful and private celebration of life. The hall was large and comfortable with an area outside to comfortably provide food and drink for guests. There was free and abundant parking in their private lot in a nice part of town. They had the technology for music and a slide show and mics and a podium for speakers. They also helped us with small items such as an online interactive obituary, a guest book, token cards, and directions at the cemetery. The staff during the actual day of the burial was very knowledgeable and guided us on how to give the best presentation. Christie was eager to listen to our story and worked closely with us to troubleshoot things. We are very happy with the great send-off for mom.

BetzBookkeeping: Lima Family Erikson has been around as long as I have. They have always been a trusted source for taking care of a loved ones passing. They are gracious and caring and are not high pressure salespeople. They are accommodating to a families individual needs. You will walk away with a feeling of contentment after everything is done. I highly recommend Lima Family Erikson. And, a big shout out for Wren. She was amazing thru the whole process. We actually had crazy fun planning my dads services and internment. Wren and Gisele were amazing. Last minute item almost forgotten.... so I call Wren and tell her OMG! I forgot socks and shoes! My dad would be very unhappy if he wasn't dressed properly. They made it happen. The only reason we didn't do the catering there, was size and spreading the wealth so to speak. We elected to have it at the church he attended. I also brought in an old family friend to do the catering. We had live music played by my fathers musician's groups. I couldn't be more grateful đđŒ for all the help we received from Lima Erikson.

Ann Okamura: Nobody wants to have to deal with a funeral home, but eventually we all do.And if you have to, Willow Glen Funeral Home is the place to go if youâre in the San Jose area. Cristina Escobar has been in the business a long time and is very knowledgeable. Not only that, sheâs very empathetic during such a difficult time.My mother had a pre-planned funeral, which made things easier. However, since I live in a different state, there was some more work involved with flying back and forth with her ashes. Cristina made sure I had all the relevant permits and paperwork necessary.I didnât return for another year to scatter my motherâs ashes, but service at Willow Glen was seamless. Cristina made sure I got the salt urn my mother had ordered to bring her ashes to sea.Remains are cremated with an identifier tag, so you know you are getting the ashes of your loved one.It was comforting knowing that things were taken care of the way they should be.

Fernando Chavez: Yesterday I went into purchase a prearrange cremation plan for myself. I had a meeting with Francis Carrasco-Leyerly. She was very pleasant and friendly and explained the plan. She also covered some important details and legal aspects that I had not thought about. April Balderrama: I am so thankful for Margarita Carranza and the staff at Lima Family for the care and support they provided during the most difficult time of my life. Losing my husband shook me to my core and I was overwhelmed with knowing that I needed to arrange his services. From the first appointment to the day of service I was showed so much care and compassion as they walked me thru the process. Margarita listened to me to understand how I wanted to honor my husband and then was able to make all my requests happen. She even offered things I didn't know were possible such as keepsakes made for each of our children which they will cherish. We rented the house they have onsite and held all of the service and reception there. Being able to have everything in one place cut down on logistics that I just didn't have the capacity to deal with in my grief. The day turned out beautiful filled with lots of stories, love, and laughter of my husbands life. I am forever grateful to Lima Family for holding my hand every step of the way in honoring my husband as we laid him to rest.

We planned a relatively quickly service and Tatiana Kaska was the Funeral Director. She was so fantastic to work with. One of the photos we were printing didnât come out well due to pixelation and Tatiana was sitting side by side with me to figure it all out. Now, being confronted with some health issues in my family, it was a no-brained to take the initiative and prepare the funeral arrangements to ensure peace of mind for us, but also for my children. Another aspect for this step is to think through wishes at end-of-life and make sure they are granted.Frances at Lima was just wonderful to work with. She was professional but also had the right tad of humor that I needed in that situation. Pre-paring for these events donât have to be all serious, Frances was able to keep the conversation just say the right level of âlightâ. I would recommend her to all my families.

The only feedback that Iâd like to mention is the day of my husbands burial service, a staff member by the name of John was a bit rude to my pallbearers, they asked what was going to happen as far as carrying the casket & his response said â Itâs common senseâ, he should have been more empathetic as this their first time & obviously it was a difficult day,â. But overall we were satisfied, Tatiana & Sara were very helpful.

This time though was for my father who's the last in our family so it fell upon me to make all of the arrangements. I worked with Nathan who was very kind, courteous, and professional. After the arrangements had been made, he followed up with me every couple of days with the status of how things were going. In the end, everything was perfect from the public viewing to the day of the funeral. Amy was our director on the day of the funeral and was fantastic. She was so kind and understanding which made it easy for everyone. We couldn't have asked for a better experience...
