It may be the best deal around, especially against chains like the panda X. you get freshly prepped dish plus rice and soup. so in many ways far superior deal. and it taste good. nothing to backflip over but its good, huge portions, and the broccoli was crisp, not limp. great meal in my opinion. check the video evidence!

American Angler: My old pals Wi Ting Limp and Ho Lee Fuk were up from LA, and in the bay area for a Jin Si tournament at San Jose State, and wanted to meet for lunch. They wanted BBQ and I wanted Chinese so we flipped a coin and I won. Not knowing where to go Wi Ting Limp asked some of the other Jin Si combatants where to go, and they all said the Great Wall is the best authentic Chinese Restaurant in San Jose! And it was Spectacular!5 stars all day long. ☆☆☆☆☆

The correct tip calculation should be: consumption amount + tip + consumption tax = total consumption, but Shaoshan’s impression is that consumption amount + consumption tax * tip. Consumption tax is included in the tip amount. I haven't encountered this before when checking out at other restaurants. I hope the boss can pay attention to this issue. Thank you!

L Glass: I have been a customer of Jade Gardens for over 30 years and have always found them to be a dependable, delicious choice for dining out. We actually had a standard take-out order for the last three years that kept us going during Covid. The owner has always been friendly and helpful. I was truly sad when I saw that the restaurant is closed and will not reopen. I do not know what happened to them but I hope they are ok.
OhSnap ANerd: Their service is quick and good. Crab ragoons is to die for! Been looking for a new spot since Cheesecake Factory took it out of their menu. Soups and salt and pepper everything is good! Kung pao chicken- I can honestly eat the whole take out if I didn’t have to share. And the beef broccoli- I’ve never had such tender beef broccoli. Will def be coming by more often and they just a regular!

Elaine K: I love the food that I've tried thus far, but there is almost always a busy signal when trying to call to place an order. It's for take-out only. Eggrolls are better in other locations, but their crab rangoons are very tasty, and their salt and pepper chicken wings are delicious. Just ask for non-spicy if you don’t like spicy food. This is a nice little mom-n-pop place for Chinese take-out that I recommend. They also do party trays.

Lo: We wanted dim sum but didn’t really know which one. We decided to give Jade Cathay a try. There’s plenty of parking next to the restaurant. We were seated and we scanned the QR code and started ordered. We ordered jumbo fried crab claws, siu mai, black bean ribs, baked bbq buns, and beef chow fun with tender greens. The dim sum came out relatively quick, the black bean ribs were a decent size and tasted good. The siu mai was smaller than some places but not bad. The baked bbq buns had this amazing glaze on it and was super fluffy with great cha siu inside. The fried crab claws were huge!! It had minced shrimp and in the very middle there’s crab meat attached to the claw, it was fun to eat and very delicious. The beef chow fun was a big size but we were already pretty full after two of us ate 4 dim sums. We ended up taking a lot of the beef chow fun home to eat. The noodles had wok hay and there was plenty of beef and bok choy. Overall, pretty satisfied with the dim sum here!

The sauce had perfect balance of sweet and sour.Hot and sour soup was delicious! Be ready to order a large bowl to share, they do not serve individual cups. Mongolian beef was not what we were used to but still very tasty. Perfectly cooked General Tso's shrimps. The portions were large, we had to take almost a half of them to go.Suggestions for improvements. Get rid of annoying hip-hop music, play something calm and sophisticated, or opposite - really energetic like "Bond on Bond", or "Rasputin" by Boney M., or even Rolling Stones. A small vase with a flower on the table can significantly improve the entire feeling.

When we asked, we were told it was not chicken legs but feet! No matter it was good.

I must say it was good decision. We tried few items and we loved every one of them. Spicy fried potatoes were instant hit. Hint of Sichuan peppers in every dish would make me want to visit this place again and again. Only thing that this place could do is better service. I don't think they are short staffed as they had only 2 tables full but our server chose to hide behind the counter and use his phone. We kept wondering someone would show face so that we could ask for hot oil or salt. Having said that, it won't keep me from visiting the place again.
