A Work of Heart: what do users think?

Joanna Vii: Amazing art store with great positive vibes!Art expertise with kind hearted service was an awesome experience. Definitely my go to art stores as a creator and designer!Selecting the right tools and paint for art and crafts is easier when talking to kind hearted experts like in Work of Heart.I was looking for markers and ballpens for fabric to signature clothes and I found what I was looking for because of an amazing expertise of the products the expert at the store. The signature fabric ballpens should be part of every celebrity bag tools so they could write signatures to the clothes and caps of their fans and the clothes also could be washed without signature fading off.I was also looking for some calligraphy pens and there was a wide range of different products to create beautiful calligraphy art and designs. There was also variety of products for other crafts, paper, cartong, etc. Thanks for an amazing service experience!God Bless 🙏😇☀️🌹 👁️With Love,Joanna

Clayton Moraga: Wow! A surprisingly well stocked art supply store. Not big in square feet but the range and quality of supplies is amazing. Start to finish what you need for painting, drawing, pen and ink, book binding, stained glass and more. Hours open are brief, but well worth it for the depth and completeness.

Visionary Arts: what do users think?

Yan Tan: I was trying to find a art class for my 9 years old daughter, we tried few places and finally stay with this school. Teacher Helen and other teachers are so nice, they are good on both skills and teaching, they teach students individually and everyone got good attention. School provides high quality supplies, like drawing paper, canvas, oil paint color, water color, acrylic, color pencils, etc. When my daughter taking class, I don’t want to wait outside and do nothing, the school takes adult students too. I am my daughter’s classmate now, and I am so happy to draw and paint there, that was my best time ever. After 8 month study and practice, both my daughter and I got some progress and we will keep learning here.

Irene Shu: , which allowed for the instructs to teach the students one on one. An instructor would draw the subject together with my son, which really is the best way for children to learn how to draw. I was so impressed by the progress my son make in her studio. But I felt like the biggest impact was on me personally. All my life, I wanted to get better at drawing. I wanted to get better at using color pencils. I wanted t get better at understanding color, how to choose color, identify the color, and conceive the color. I have often felt that I was too old or it was too late for me to learn art. Now an adult, I finally found the teacher who can help me attain that. Her level of empathy was astronomical. She could not only pinpoint where I was frustrated but also what to do about it. She would tell me to "learn to enjoy the process" and not simply to focus on the output. I was drawn to her passion and energy and her warmth and encouragement. She not only loves teaching her craft but also building up her students as well. "Keep practicing! We are always learning and getting better!" she would say "Nothing can stop us from creating art!"Under quarantine, Teacher Helen has been streaming her classes and has added more classes to include watercolor, multi media art, and digital art, a class that I am taking as well. The biggest progress I'd seen was when I attended her Color Pencil Art Challenge class. Teacher Helen wisely advised that participating in art challenges really pushes you to improve your skill. Under her guidance, I was able to win the August 2020 Color Pencil Magazine

Ting W: The teacher is nice and patient. My daughter learned really fast.

Minna Xu: Great place! I like the environment. And teachers are professional and very kind.

Zheng Fu: Helen is a Great teacher!

Min Tan: Visionary Arts is a great place to learn drawing. My son is 7 years old, he enjoys learning there so much.

Jing Huang: and day camps

Wendy H: This is the best art studio so far I have seen in this area. Clean and bright, teachers are very passionate and professional. My daughter likes drawing very much. She went to another studio earlier for a couple of years but found out later that some studio are too commercial and the guidance is not enough for her desire of improvement. She quitted for half an year at six until we found this studio, this is exact what we want. I have visited many studios but feel this is best suitable for my daughter. Teachers are nice and guide her very well. Studio is not big but it gives you flexible way to learn as you desire. For young kids like my daughter, she can learn the famous painters' inspiring spirituality also the skill set of real drawing. She so likes here. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Shirley Huang: Great teacher, great learning experience! Thank you!

Ichen Art Academy: what do users think?

Aidan Peter: I've been a student at Ichen Art Academy for over 4 years now, and needless to say, I've grown a lot within my passion because of the instruction I received at this school.I came in with a love for art, but little knowledge in the technical aspects. Through Ichen's summer programs, I got to explore many different media including charcoal, oil painting, and digital. The academy's instructors are very well educated in the arts and provide a plethora of resources and materials to help me succeed. They provided guidance in composition, technique, color, etc. while motivating me to enter my art into competitions... ultimately which I won a few!Ryan, Ichen Art Academy's Artist in Residence, has provided me with fantastic support over the years. I got a perfect balance of instruction and freedom to allow for the full expression of my artistry. I never felt bored or unmotivated because the instructors constantly provide me with ideas and recommendations when I'm stuck. My AP and college application portfolios both contributed largely to my successful MIT and Harvard application processes, and I am forever indebted to my time at Ichen for this accomplishment.

Ben Lee: . Initially, many years ago, we researched several art schools in the Bay Area, specifically in the South Bay, and even tried out a local one near our home for a year

John Carrasco: Great students and staff.

Sundararajan Sankaranarayanan: My kids have been going here for more than a year. Can’t say enough good things about this place. The teachers and staff are amazing and the confidence I see in my kids when draw and try other art forms is a joy to watch.

Kevin Yang: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueReally awesome place! All of the teachers are really experienced and helpful. I took mainly Digital Art, Drawing and Sketch, and AP Art. Those classes really helped me improve my art skills and guided me while I was building my portfolio for ArtCenter.

Art IsHealing: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityI've been taking weekly brush painting classes with Ichen and manga/character design in comics with David T. The instructors create a very supportive learning environment where students of all ages can study, practice and progress at their own levels.

kevin cui: I have studied with Ichen since high school and the teachers have all been very helpful. They helped me a lot with getting a 5 on the AP art portfolio and getting into Artcenter College of Art and Design! There are plenty of teachers who have experience in design and art as a career, as well as art college professors who also teach here. Developing these portfolios can also help with applying to schools such as UCLA and Carnegie Mellon.

Alisa Ho: . Kevin did a wonderful job teaching kids online. I whole heartedly recommend Ichen Art Academy. They are professional, friendly and have really knowledgeable, technically trained staff. Thank you Ichen Art for providing this community with such a wonderful art school.

Alex Hsu: My daughter decided to have art as her major when she was in 11 grade. She didn’t build up a solid foundation on any art skills before. But with all the help from their teachers, finally she is in her dream college - Art Center in Pasadena, LA.I do really appreciate Ichen Art Academy which offers the students to be able to learn the knowledge and skills of art with a pure, open mind and away from the pressure of academic staffs.

Lynn Wang: My daughter has been in Ichen Art Academy for a few years and she has dramatically improved since she first started. The staff are very professional and help students improve. My daughter has enjoyed the classes we signed up for and the art she produces is very nice. The summer camp workshops are also very nice.

Serena Yep: I am an art student at Ichen art academy for three years. The teachers here teach exceptionally well. They give fantastic feedback and tells me what I should improve on. Every summer, they have summer classes for people that are interested in art. The summer class I recommend the most is figure art drawing. This class is taught by Oliver Sin, a well known artist that has 200k followers on Instagram. Another amazing teacher is Ryan. He specializes in oil painting and charcoal but he is extraordinary in all fields. I highly recommend this art school And your art skills will improve if you join this school.

Lily Zhao: I’ve been in this academy for 4 years and I’ve learned a lot at this academy, from the classes and summer workshops. The instructors teach us all the fundamentals while still giving us the creative freedom to draw what we want. All of the instructors are still in the professional art field so they give reliable incite on the the field. This academy has instructors that teach different art genres.

Jessica Hsu: The teachers and students are so friendly and are really good resources if you ever love to do art. I’ve improved dramatically because of them.

Elaine Z: Both of my children attended this art school for many years, in the regular school year and in summer camps. Both Ichen herself and the teachers she has are great. They not only taught the skills, but more importantly, let students maintain and develop their interest in art. This is not easy especially considering how busy students are nowadays on all the other things they have.

Vivian Zhao: My 12 year old daughter has been attending this art academy for many years, IChen, her staff, and all the teachers are very friendly and knowledgeable. My daughter enjoys very much learning different skills from different teachers there. IChen and Ryan are great with teaching techniques and fundamentals of art.

Brian Liao: I have been coming to Ichen for 5 years or so. I have learned so much from all the teachers that I have been in class with. Classes were so fun yet at the same time extremely informative. I don't think I would've gotten into Art Center without the help of my teachers, not just informatively but also emotionally. They support and believe in all their students. I learned so many different styles of art and different mediums of art. It has made me only into a stronger artist. Teachers push you out of your comfort zone to get us to become better artists.

Joyce Shen: I’ve been at Ichen Art Academy for a few years now and I definitely feel like I’ve improved a lot here. They offer a lot of classes and the teachers are all very friendly and skilled. Very enjoyable and helpful!

自霞: Very friendly and talented instructors! A variety of courses are offered here, from digital illustration to Chinese watercolor, so there’s no shortage of different styles to try out. The location is very good too, since it’s in walkable distance of coffee and tea shops.

Japanese Art & Cultural Center: what do users think?

TheTrollerIs: I loved the person who owned the place I feel soo bad to what happend to him I hope he gets better

Asuka Ido: In addition to reasonable lesson fees, we also have a variety of time options.Above all, the teaching policy of the representative, Mr. Omi, is wonderful. It's wonderful how they watch over the children so that they can think for themselves and figure it out on their own, rather than forcing them to give instructions. It seems that he regularly travels to Japan to participate in training on children's education and growth, and is constantly updating information so that children can grow up in a healthier manner.

John SaberSlinger: I have studied martial arts from many different schools and trainers. This unique Japanese martial arts school that emphasizes compassion, kindness and character development through the study of various arts, including karate, kendo, iai, kyujutsu, aikido, bojutsu, etc. Great for kids AND adults. Highly recommended for those of us who are over 50 years old and are looking for a healthy way to remain active into our golden years.

Diane W: Very friendly stuff with welcoming environment.I have been tried many places which is kinda pushy but in here, I can relax and enjoy learning and practicing.

Rhonda Chan: The philosophy taught through their various programs always emphasize compassion, tolerlance, and acceptance. It is rare to find such a nurturing environment for children and adults.

Allen Collins: The Japanese Art & Cultural Center is one of the cornerstones of Japanese culture in the South Bay. It is rich with history and has had thousands of Japanese and other members of the community walk though its doors or grace it’s tatami mats all in appreciation and admiration of the Japanese arts it celebrates. The center offers a large variety of arts from martial arts like karate, kendo, kyudo, iaido, and aikido, to traditional arts like flower arrangement, calligraphy, and paining. It even offers dance and Zumba taught by wonderful teachers. The center is one of the treasures of the South Bay.

Divo Naturals: Wonderful karate and kendo family school for both kids and adults. Some kids may be very young, like 4 years old.

CalColor Academy: what do users think?

Lengleng Fang: I highly recommend Calcolor Academy, where there are very professional and responsible teachers, Alvin, Sean, Joseph…… ... My daughter has made great progress every year after studying here for three years. Her works created in CCA Summer Camp won the Golden Key Award in the School Artistic & Writing Awards, which helped her to prepare a strong Art portfolio for applying for a university. This year, she was admitted to her favorite university. Thanks to Calcolor.

Sayali Kale: Cal color is a great place to learn art techniques and create amazing pieces of art. They offer summer programs which I love to attend and learn so much from. I have loved the summer camps since I was 10 and Cal Color was established. These summer camps include a lot of fun time to draw, as well as breaks where kids can play in the local park. At the end of each camp is a showcase where kids can show their parents the amazing art that they made. The teachers like Mr. Alvin, Ms. Connie, and Ms. Hoai -My, and many many more make the summer camps super fun, engaging, and exciting. I have created many pieces during these camps that have won many awards for the Scholastic Art and Writing Competition that Cal Color helps students participate in.

L D: Calcolor is a very professional art academy for kids to go deeper into the field of visual art. All teachers hold an art degree from recognizable or top art schools, such as the Central Academy of Fine Art in China. At the same time it is also a place for kids to have fun. They have variety of topics from sketch, painting to digital. It is easy for kids to explore and find their true passions. My daughter started at a summer camp and has been with the academy for two years. I can see her growth almost every week. Every teacher who she has been with, Mr. Alvin, Mr. Sean, Ms. Michelle and Mr. Chao are so kind, knowledgeable and devoted. You can tell their great passion in both art and teaching! Highly recommended!

Mlaerok: Calcolor Academy is a fantastic place to learn art at all levels. I have been in a variety of classes such as the painting class and portfolio development class, with great teachers such as Mr. Chao and Mr. Alvin. Additionally, I would also recommend the summer camp classes. I have personally won an award from Scholastic's Art and Writing competition for an artwork made during Calcolor's summer camp.

天下无双: For the past three years, my daughter has flourished in her drawing classes at Calcolor Fremont. With the talented Mr. Alvin and Joseph as her instructors, her artistic skills have truly blossomed. This dedication was recognized at the scholastic art and writing competition, where she received a silver award last year and a gold award this year! Sincerely appreciate Calcolor’s professional guidance!

June Chen: Ms. Connie from the Newark campus is awesome. She is very inspiring and patient to the kids. My daughter loves her!

Jiajia Wang: When the pandemic started in 2020, both my daughters attended Calcolor’s online classes with Mr. Alvin. Then when Calcolor started to offer in person class again, we found out Mr. Alvin has PD class in Calcolor Fremont that will work for our high schooler’s busy schedule, even Fremont was bit of far for us, we decided to join. My older daughter has been going to the PD class in Fremont for a year now, she enjoyed the classes very much. Mr. Alvin is super fun, creative and inspiring. While taking the PD class at Calcolor, my daughter attended the scholastic art and writing contests 2021 and 2023, her works have gotten three silver key and one gold key regional awards. One thing I love about Calcolor PD class by Mr. Alvin is that his class doesn’t just teach skills and techniques, more importantly, there is aways an ongoing open dialogue to encourage students to explore and express new ideas and find new passion. I would highly recommend Calcolor, PD class and Mr. Alvin.

Anna Cao: My daughter has been learning here at least 3 years. She got the silver key in Scholastic this year. So proud of her. She is learning drawing and AP. Her instructor is Alvin and Rain.

Yuee Feng: My daughter took Ms. Rain's PD prep class and improved tremendously. She loved her teacher and said Ms. Rain spent lots of time helping each individual student.

Jingyu Kang: My kid has been attending cal color for a year now and he loves it!

Shalini Sasidharan: Great place ! Son has learned so much from here ; will be putting my daughter here when she turns 4

Grace Wang: My daughter has been learning art here for 6 years. She started at exploration, then foundation, advancement, Elite Advancement, now at PD Prep drawing. The teachers here are all fantastic! She’s had Yishu, Alvin, Rain and others as teachers, we loved each one of them. Now she is taking classes from Mr. Sean. Mr. Sean is absolutely great, too! He takes the time to learn about the student. He is encouraging but never stops giving the best feedback and help so the kids can keep growing in their skills. We are so thankful to have Mr. Sean!

Jinfeng Cai: Our two daughters signed to Mr. Alvin’s Elite classes at Fremont location. This is the best program our daughter ever had. They both improved drawing amazingly!

Ya-Ting Shen: the most critical technique to observe the objects and how to use watercolor bring the object alive on our artwork. Everyone was so proud of their artwork at the end. The entire class was also like a art therapy, fun and very relaxing after a long day at work. I highly recommend CalColor for its profession in arts and passion in teaching.

Hsiang-Chen Lee: to CalColor Academy Half Day Summer Camp. Kids spent 5 half days to complete 3 projects. Kids enjoyed the class and felt accomplishment with these projects. In addition, the instructors at the end of camp will give their observation and future advice to parents/students. This is a good opportunity for kids to improve their art skills in the summer.

Rui Zhang: My daughter has been studying at Cal Color since she was four. The curriculum is very structured and each lesson is inspired by the work of an artist. Kids learn the skills as well as how to appreciate art. We had lots of fun there.
