M T: After asking a number of people in the auto business who were no able to answer, I stopped by E&J to simply as a question about my truck's electrical system and whether or not I could splice into an existing wire the access the 12V line. My purpose was to install LED truck bed lights myself and I only needed their professional advice. They seemed busy but the gentlemen working did not put me off. They had me pull my vehicle into their driveway where the inspected and tested the existing line to verify that I could use the line to install my lighting system. No charge and out of there in minutes. I really appreciate these guys taking time out of their day to accurately answer my questions.

Marcus Morroc-Bey: Akin’s Auto Repair has cemented itself as our new auto-repair shop.For some context, we called in on a Tuesday to inquire about an inspection on our vehicle. He told us it would be fine to bring it in the next day, so we did. We expressed we were on a tight timeline, as we had to leave for a road trip the following Friday. Akin and his mechanics were able to fix all of the problems on the car despite having a limited staff, but they didn’t stop there. They proceeded to fix things we didn’t even know needed to be fixed, practically free of charge. They realigned our car, installed new towers, and more. All of the work was done with high-quality parts amounting to far below the industry standard.Going to car shops can be anxiety-inducing as someone with no car knowledge. Car mechanics frequently prey on the inexperienced. However, my experience at Akin’s starkly contrasted prior experiences I’ve had. I will be going here for the rest of my time in the Bay Area.

Momo: Tried Akins Mechanic for the first time and I’m seriously impressed. The mechanic keeps it 100% real - no beating around the bush. You bring in your car, he tells you straight up what’s wrong. After dealing with some questionable mechanics in Palo Alto, Akins was a breath of fresh air. A friend recommended them, and I’m glad I listened. He even told me my brakes were fine and didn’t need work, but advised when to check them again. Ended up fixing the squeal in the brakes, and it was done quickly at a fair price. Definitely my go-to mechanic now.

Danny Thornton: After taking our Jag to Wheel Works for an oil change and a lifetime alignment, I had to take it to Leale's because of the incompetence of the service adviser at Wheel Works.When there is an issue with a vehicle, the advisor is supposed to point it out. Every time I would ask, he would mumble something and walk away. So, instead of dealing with incompetence, I sought out a better option. Leale's was within walking distance and was able to get the car in quickly. Little did I know the true issues with the car.When I purchased this car, I bought an extended warranty through CarMax, and I am so glad now. The car had a lot of "little" issues that turned out to be expensive issues because it is a Jag, and the warranty requires Jag parts.Jim and Tyler were both fantastic. Jim spearheaded the conversations with the car warranty company, and he got more than 80% of the repairs covered. While it took longer than I would have liked, that is another issue with owning a Jag.So, let me say it this way. If you have an issue with your car, regardless of the make or model, call these guys. They are phenomenal, and they will take good care of you. We are now customers for life.

They found the TCM is the problem but they cannot find the part because my van is too old. I found one on eBay. Jim let me take the van back home without charging me while I was waiting for shipping. They repaired the bumper with OEM parts with lifetime warranty.I came in and just expected my bumper to be fixed and surprisingly they also fixed scratches in other parts of the car. Even cleaned my car inside and out including all the dog hair :D. Equally importantly, everyone seem really happy working there which reflects the service that I received.
