Wesley Hogan: They have an entire gluten free menu! Lots of gluten free options for people with Celiac disease. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive! My girlfriend and I loved it here. The food was delicious and affordable!

Manuel Rendón: Excellent. The exquisite food.

Philip Laird: A hidden gem of a Cantonese restaurant in Chinatown. Dim Sum for lunch, full menu for lunch and dinner.

Valentina Antonini: We stopped for lunch and I must say that I found a welcoming and absolutely characteristic place. But the surprising thing is the DEDICATED GLUTEN FREE menu!Ate very well!Advised!

Karon Rilling: Such a treasure! This was the best Asian food I have ever eaten. Seven of us sat down for a leisurely, conversation-filled dinner. Our server made sure we knew how many servings the designed-to-share dishes included. Her assistant offered suggestions about which sauces complemented which appetizers. Our wine was excellent and very reasonably priced. When the main dishes arrived, we were very happy with the tasty offerings. The several shrimp dishes were especially excellent.Vegetarian options: The vegetarians at our table were pleased with the variety of choices available. They were delighted with their tasty dishes and shared little samples with the rest of the guests.

Kayci Ogden: Gluten-free menu! It is difficult to find gluten-free menus that have good food on them. I ordered the Prawns with Honey Glazed Walnuts. Totally worth it!

Nayeli Constantino: Good taste!!

Pat Toner: Nice for dim sum and small plates, service was wonderful and food was great

Wook Chung: China Live is unique in many ways. You are put in this street market type of atmosphere with touristy, yet quite authentic and modern interior, loud and noisy as ever, while being served pseudo fushion Chinese food. The experience is great overall, especially right by China Town. The food is tasty in most ways. The sea bass was spot on. Some of the buns and dumplings were great. The shrimp / crab spring roll sticks were mindblowing. But also, there were some unnecessary garnishes and overly inventive twists where perfectly good classical food was over spiced or peppered. The presentation was perfect - not too gaudy and adequate to generate a sense of homeliness and small-town street market. Ingrdients are fresh. I would just hope that the chef didn't try too much to pander to tourists. For example, the Peking duck in a pocket is a fabulous idea on paper, but clearly they had pre-made it and it really was cold in the inside. Again, this isn't your classical Chinese restaurant.Service was quite hectic and dismal. Because it was a street market, food would arrive in random order by random people. You had no idea what had arrived or what hadn't, how much you had left, etc. The 8 of us were served in a genuine random way. Even till the very end, we weren't quite sure who our server was. Oh, did I mention our drinks only came out half way through the unstructured meal? Also, they put us on this 6 person table with 2 of us squeezed at the two ends where there was really no place to put your legs.Again, the atmosphere was wonderful and overall, we had a good time. The prices are quite expensive for Chinese food but then, you are paying a premium for the "gentle fusion" experience.Great place to have a date or a business meal. Will certainly return!Vegetarian options: Decent vegetarian selection across each section.Kid-friendliness: This place isn't friendly for kids. Too noisy and street/bar style.

Stephanie Curtis: We really enjoyed our food. We had the yangzhou fried rice, the spicy curry, the wings, chicken dumplings with that delicious chili broth, and the char siu crunchy buns. The shaved mango ice with sesame ice cream was sooooooo good.More than anything, we deeply appreciated our server Rafi. My husband always says, "What comes from the heart has a tendency to reach the heart." We felt Rafi's care and attention to detail. He answered our questions and made our first-time experience at China Live unforgettable. He seemed like a genuinely kind person and was absolutely the best server we've ever encountered.

Vivaan Barai: One of the best Chinese food!

Angad Bedi: Szechuan chicken

Fabs Guts: The restaurant is very busy, which, in addition to the Michellin recommendation, makes a good impression. The food was tasty, the service was quick. The service fee is debatable, we found it quite high…

Grace Tong: Despite having Michelin awards, the food was honestly just mediocre to me.Additionally, the wait line system was not explained clearly. When we first entered, they asked us to wait outside. After we came back in 30 minutes, they said we should write our name down and wait for another 30 minutes. So, we ended up waiting about an hour to get to a table, which we had to share with others. There is a mandatory 18% service charge along with a 4% SF Employee mandate, and they still asked for a tip. Just no, lol.

Victor Yates: Food was impeccable, the only thing that wasn't excitingly flavorful was the tea which was to be expected. The staff did a tremendous job of serving us amazing food. The actual service was a tad bit slow, however if you don't worry about that then I highly recommend this place. If I was in the area, I would immediately return. Whether you have kids or not, for AMAZING Chinese food this is the place to be.Dietary restrictions: Whatever your need, I'm sure they would be flexible per your request. If unsure, call before hand.Parking: It's downtown so I would park at the closest parking garage then mosey on over.Kid-friendliness: They did an excellent job of serving our children and we had a lot of them.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access for entry and exit of restaurant.

Andrea Nevermind: So glad the three of us chose this place for lunch! Food was excellent!! We sat outside. The owner asked if we had been there before. When we said no, he smiled, took our menus, and ordered for us: pork bao buns, steamed dumplings, crispy shrimp packets, BBQ ribs & zucchini spears. Shrimp, beef and Broccoli in a Dijon honey mustard sauce and table made sizzling shrimp and chicken fried rice. I would visit again!

Delilah Liu: Visiting from Washington and stumbled upon this place, which is a few blocks from my hotel. If you come to SF for a conference, and you like spicy Chinese food, come to this place. As someone from Hunan’s adjacent province, i can attest to the authenticity of food here. however, pls go with a friend who speaks chinese or ask for the chinese menu. they do have separate menus. The meat is appropriated seasoned, veggies very fresh, flavorful yet not too saucy. My favorite Chinese restaurant so far.

Kushal Pawar: but I recommend getting the sweet tea with it to combat the spice. Between the 2 of us we had 5 dishes and took home whatever we didn’t finish. I’ll definitely be coming back to try the pork belly

Mary Rose Baker Catalan: Parking: Needed more parking

michelle arguelles: During Covid they had to let their servers go so the wait to get your food is long and slow. But the food is so good, I didn't care. My favorite Chinese restaurant on Clement Street.Update: the wait is a little shorter and they have been closing earlier than usual. Best to call in your order early and give them time.Update: They are retiring on February 21st, 2023.

Danice M: Best crispy noodles - tomato beef chow mein. Customer service amazing! Wait time fast.

R Joseph: Top shelf Peking Duck. Very affordable and high quality . This is a great local option in China town. Highly recommended!

Kimbel Welch: Everything was fresh and delicious. The Mongolian beef was tender and full of flavor. The onions were lightly grilled to perfection. The hot and sour soup was tangy and spicy, the shrimp being a nice touch. The Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce perfectly cooked and lightly crisp. I left very full and very satisfied.

Ron Cain: Please Support their efforts.

rus vold: Food was amazing. Easy to order and made fresh everytime. Portions are large too!

Kay Chapman: It was really good!

Alzila: Super authentic Chinese food, kind of reminds me of home. Owned by a lovely couple, the food never disappoints. A hidden gem in the neighborhood.Vegetarian options: Non-meat options availableParking: Parking throughout the areaWheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair button for access

Toby Bruce: It's not about the ambiance. It's about chicken fried rice with salted fish, snow pea leaves in garlic sauce as well as bitter melon with beef in garlic and black bean sauce. Shrimp and vegetables with stir fried noodles is also very good. In five months of eating here I never had anything I didn't like. I think the same couple have been running it for 35+ years.

Natalie Woods: I had vegetable egg Foo young, fried rice, and saute spinach and garlic. It was very good with fresh veggies. 😚 it's one of my favorite Chinese restaurant. Love it.Recommended dishes …

Josh Carrion: Great food! It's a small place but everything is awsome. My family loves this place.

Steve Brown: Hands down best chinese food. My go to place whenever I'm nearby. I like vegetable fried rice and they chop up chunks of vegetables instead of the tiny diced pieces other places use. Real quality, fast and prices are fair. Best cook I've found. Gotta try it!

David Schanen (musicscene): While I was waiting for my first order ever, I met a woman who had been coming here since she was a child. She spoke fondly of the hot and sour soup, "..nobody else make it like they do!' So I added it to my order and it did not disappoint! I also tried the Mongolian lamb, Sichuan eggplant, garlic spinach, and general's chicken, all were fresh and delicious and made to order! I'll definitely be back!

Benjii gaming online: , golden china is a very good personal alternative. Not as fast as others but just as delicious.

Harry Liao: The food itself is pretty good and I'd say pretty authentic as a northern Chinese restaurant. The food is meant to be eaten dine in tho because the taste changes a lot after it sits in the delivery for a minute. The staff is overall friendly but the restaurant itself felt a bit like a warehouse. You essentially eat alone and for me it makes the vibes off and they got boxes everywhere on the service counter for some reason.

Ty Yip: good servicefood is goodParking: free parking lot is kind of small but there are many metered parkings

Em Bee: Best for take out. Good Chinese food especially their dumplings, Mu Shu, garlic eggplant. Large selection, quickly prepared.Vegetarian options: Lots of good vegetarian options and you can request certain meat dishes be make without meat.

Andrew Kollen: A gem! Great service and the food is fantastic. Can’t wait to go back!Food: 5/5 …

ApeMistake: Dragon well is a cute, intimate restaurant that would be great for date night or taking an out of town family member to a nice dinner! It's a great spot for taking out of town visitors for a great culinary treat! The service is second to none with friendly servers and great ambience! For San Fran, their prices are pretty reasonable. That being said, the food didn't hold up to that pricing. We ordered the wok- tossed prawns first which were a great start to the food. The flavor was great, but it definitely was not as spicy as I was expecting. The wonton- soup was very good and exactly what you would expect and more! Unfortunately, the stir fried vegetables did not deliver. The tofu was a great consistency but suffered the same blandness as the veggies in the dish. We also ordered the walnut prawns, a sweet dish with fried prawns and candied walnuts. It was an absolute delight and paired well with the wonton soup! All said, Dragon Well is ready to be a gem of the restaurant scene in San Francisco but is lacking some finesse as far as the food goes.

Kathleen Caine: Came in on a whim and what a fun lunch. Sat on a small deck overlooking the very scenic alley. Great day for it, sunny with a light breeze so we didnt need them to open the shady imbrellas. There were a few special treats but the quick, friendly service is what stood out. We had 4 different meals and all of us were pleased with the flavor and freshness. They do put the suggested tip in the bill, but you can adjust, so don't double tip! You also need to order rice. That said, you're set for a great meal and unique dining experience!Vegetarian options: Tofu and vegie dishes, our vegetarian guest was happy with his options.

Krazy Gma: This is the way they start you off with a nice warm towel… Then they serve you hors d’oeuvres… Of course they’ve already taken your drinks… And then you decide what you want to eat… I have tried multiple dishes… I’ve eaten here multiple times… You cannot go wrong. This is one of the oldest restaurants in Chinatown… You will not be sorry… The people that work here is absolutely fabulous… So kind and so warm… and then at the end of your meal, you also get a wonderful treat… More than one… Enjoy yourselves we sure did

Sophia Zhong: This place is so pretty and the service was amazing. Food was great loved it. The honey walnut shrimp was so goodVegetarian options: I love how it have a menu just for vegetarians and selection is great

Steve Mmm: Had a wonderful dinner. Set menu was excellent with lots of complimentary flavors in each of the 5 courses. Just the right amount of food. Nice selection of Wines by the glass to pair w the range of foods. Staff was exceptional, knowledgeable and helpful. They are even able to accommodate vegetarians or gluten free requirementsNoise level is high.Note that dessert is extra and not included in the set menuGreat views of Coit Tower on a clear dayAn exceptional experience

Ishmael Fasina: Took my girlfriend here for her 25th birthday and she love everything about it. From the view of the sun set, to the amazing food. Everything was great. They had very good substitutions for my dietary restrictions as well! Will definitely recommend to friends!Dietary restrictions: If you don’t do pork, caffeine , or gluten they got you covered

Kartier: This place was absolutely outstanding in almost every way possible! I’ve dined at all ranks of Michelin star restaurants across the country, and this place could be deserving in coming years. It also won’t break the bank as it’s only just over $100 per person for a hefty 5 course meal. Cocktails are fantastic and the wine list is curated expertly. The only things that need to improve -This is a Chinese / Cantonese restaurant but only has one Chinese wine….and it’s $700 😂😂I agree with others that having to add on dessert doesn’t make sense. I’d rather pay more per person and have dessert included.Everything else was perfect and can’t wait to go back!

K T: . One of the servers was empathetic and that, with the delicious food, dessert and drinks

AJ F: Awesome food and cocktails.Elevated semi-fusion Cantonese food, menu is definitely not stagnant and evolves with the season.Prix fixe menu at the table, limited ala carte items at the bar.Beautiful city view. The bartenders are true artisans! not very pocket friendly though.

Alysia M: What an incredible experience. As someone from French and Singaporean culture I was blown away by the dishes and the wine pairing. I was incredibly impressed by the wine pairing and explanation by Edgar. I am third culture raised and felt that the start to finish was curated to be for those who want to feel the elegance of asianatic cuisine with the height of French experience. I know that each section is curated to be about the customer from start to finish. Every dish was excellent I cannot recommend this enough.I want to also highlight the busboys, attentive to each silverware change and requests for new cutlery. It is difficult on a busy day like Lunar New Year to give individual attention. We were received with the attention of family and value of a long term customer.Thank you again Edgar for every detailed answer to my questions. You truly made the experienceThank you to the bartender that made all the Harry Potter themed drinks -I am a big fan of the Lumos.

Jean Tsou: Great Chinese New Year experience here! We enjoy the view to fire works and lion dancing show during our meal as well. Food preparation was elegant. Great service. Welcoming and serving then paying attention. It’s different Chinese cuisine fine dining experience for me. I love the caviar and scallop spring roll. It’s different than traditional Chinese spring roll taste it’s with full of umami flavors. This is such a great spot for Chinese New Year celebration 🍾 unforgettable memory.

Kayla Howe: We had a wonderful time at Mister Jiu’s. Our server was so helpful and attentive. The cocktails were fun. The duck and our fried rice, with smoked trout, salty roe, and crunchy peas, were the absolute highlight. I knew the duck would reach that level, but the rice blew me away. The space was lovely and we can’t wait to go back to expand our range and try the upstairs bar.

Sir Knightmare: Food and service was excellent, traditional Chinese techniques and flavors elevated and showcased at a much higher level. Really liked the non alcoholic drink pairing option. We ordered 2 main sharables for 3 people , and they did text us that it might be a lot of food, they were probably right. 1 would have probably been enough, but you can always take the leftovers home.

Tyler Browne: After seeing the viral Eater video of the 2-week long prepared peking duck at Mister Jui’s, the restaurant has been on my must-go list ever since. I finally got the opportunity to go to San Francisco and was able to secure a table for 2 for a late evening dinner. I was so excited and couldn’t wait for this experience to finally come. When I arrived at the restaurant, we waited a few minutes before making our way to the dining room. It had a very nice ambiance, but seemed like the restaurant could have more seating to me. But turning to the food…I’ll start by saying this was a very expensive dinner where there was a tasting menu cost and then another $125 charge for the peking duck. That being said, all the food was excellent. Perfect cook and interesting dishes. But, to me, it lacked in the rarer or more special foods for the price tag. For example, I thought the swordfish and razor clam dishes were solid, but I would expect more premium ingredients to be showcase like dungenesse crab, maybe some truffles or uni etc. The razor clam dish didn’t have much razor clam and was paired with a piece of asparagus. The swordfish dish was delicious but seemed thrown together. The other dishes with the healing broth and dumpling were superb. I really enjoyed those. Then, we get to the main reason to come to the restaurant, the peking duck. And I will say this was the best peking duck I’ve ever had. The duck was cooked to utter perfection, the skin was crispy and the meat juicy and so flavorful. It was so amazing and I’m still thinking about it to this day. The liver mousse, pancakes and crispy perfectly cooked duck was to die for. Topped with peanut hoisin, it truly is a special dish. So, was it worth it? All in all, the experience was special and the duck blew me away. I would want to return just because of that dish. But, I would do some analysis on the current season’s tasting menu before jumping to make a reservation here. That would be the deciding factor for me if I return in the future or not.The Peking duck is the best Peking duck I have ever had. However, that did cost extra on top of the courses. The courses were all delicious and interesting but I wish there was just a little extra sometimes. I definitely didn’t leave hungry and all the food is delicious. Maybe I’d return to Mister Jui’s one day.

Ken Wong: May 2024:Celebrated an anniversary dinner here and ordered the tasting menu. We also ordered an extra dish, as recommended, and got the whole fish. One person said it was a snapper while another person said it was a black bass. Tasted like a black bass to me.One complaint that I had was the whole steamed fish didn't taste like it was "live from a tank" fresh... Parts of the fish lacked that "vibrant" freshness. Also, the meat did not easily come off from the main spine when we were deboning the fish.Everything else was very good. Liked the fried rice that came with the fish. Also liked the chicken shrimp pig trotter dumpling and the guinea hen.I'd come back again but probably wouldn't order the fish.

Nandini Rajan: We had dinner at Mister Jiu's more than two weeks ago but I could not write a review because it to me some time to process the wonderful evening. My heart was so full. The food/drinks were outstanding, the service was warm and friendly and the music was fabulous. The evening was an experience that inspired me. You could feel nostalgia, a contemporary viewpoint and love for what the team was doing together. On top of that, the execution was flawless.

Jessica Gu: . Located in Chinatown. This young Chinese-American chef and Mister Jiu's have been named the best chef and one of the twenty best restaurants in the United States. Someone online commented that it is too fusion for Chinese food and too fusion for Michelin. Simple, but we really like it. The white asparagus is sweet and crispy, and the taste of the fish is a complex and delicious fusion of Chinese and Western. The meat and fish are cooked to just the right temperature. The Peking duck is smoked with tea smoke in the morning and roasted before the customers arrive. .

CoCo: From the moment you step in, you're enveloped in an atmosphere that's both elegant and inviting. The menu is a culinary journey, featuring dishes that are as visually stunning as they are flavorful. The attentive service and attention to detail elevate the dining experience, making Mister Jiu's a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a modern twist on Chinese cuisine.

Grace Brentano: was incredible - highly recommend.

Betsy Martinez: I keep coming back because it’s so dam good. Truly a gem in the city feels like you’re eating at home. The food is always fresh and the service is wonderful truly feels like home. I’ve had the Seseme Chicken over steam rice and the sweet n sour chicken over steamed rice as well as the the spring rolls and seseme balls. Both meals smacked 10/10.

O B: We ordered online through Uber Eats and were not at the restaurant physically. The food was good and the portions were large enough. Two of us could have shared the Rice and been satisfied without ordering the extra dish. The food arrived warm enough as well. Sadly, they forgot to include cutlery.Overall good food but a little pricey so I will not rate it as great value for money.

Jah Kay: For having one of the largest Chinatowns in the United States, it's surprising how hard it is to find good chicken and broccoli in San Francisco. Despite living closer to Chinatown, I consistently order my chicken and broccoli from YH Beijing on Haight Street. The glowing reviews caught my eye, and after trying their dish once, I’ve been hooked ever since. There’s too much risk in trying other places and being disappointed, but YH Beijing delivers perfection every time. This is my favorite Chinese-American dish, and it's perplexing why it’s not more prevalent in my immediate vicinity. Sometimes you find Chinese broccoli, but that's a different experience. For some reason, chicken and broccoli is harder to come by in Chinatown, or maybe I’m just not looking hard enough.YH Beijing’s chicken and broccoli has to be the best in the city. The portions could be a bit larger, so if you have the extra cash, consider ordering two servings, especially if you're sharing. The tender chicken, smothered in that classic brown sauce recognizable from Chinese restaurants, is simply divine. The generous amount of broccoli perfectly complements the dish. It always comes in a convenient take-out box, making it perfect for those cozy nights in.If you're a fan of chicken and broccoli, YH Beijing on Haight Street is the place to go. Highly recommended!

Valentina Kogan: The only downside is it's hard to find parking...Thank you very much to our waitress Jessica, wonderful presentation and service. 10+

Christopher Chung:
