Thomas Manolis: “The Calista Organic Hotel is a great place to stay! Clean, great location and great customer service, all this packed in a best value for money approach. Before arrival, the hotel’s personnel stored my luggage until the check in time. The room was very clean and fresh, the bathroom was contemporary and convenient, even equipped with shampoo/conditioner and body gel. There was a small fridge, perfect to keep your beverages or meals cold, there was also a microwave oven to warm up your food if needed. A red bottle of wine, was also a nice gesture where you don’t find that often. There was cable tv installed, and the internet connectivity was good enough for flawless VPN work, but also to be used for streaming services at the same time. Really glad that there was a desk and a chair, where I could work with a laptop in convenient way. Very easy to check in, you receive an e-mail with detailed instructions, and the smart locks, make it easy to get into the hotel 24/7, without relying to human intervention. You type your pin codes and you ‘re in quickly and safely. The bed was very comfortable, and sheets and towels were soft and of good quality. This is not a cheap hotel. This is a value for money hotel in a very good location, surrounded by many restaurants, public transport is close, even one of the iconic SF cable train stop is very close. Last but not least, the hotel’s personnel were super helpful during all the different stages of my stay. People were there while I had to check in, helped a lot during my stay by providing useful tips about the area in general and on top of everything organized my departure from the SFO until the last detail. There’s also free bottled water and chocolates at the reception. Highly recommended!!! Had a great experience overall.”

D W: My wife and I stayed in San Francisco for a total of 6 days at the Calista Organic Hotel. The service in the hotel was very good, the receptionist was always very friendly and helpful. A free transfer from the hotel to the airport was even organized on the day of departure.Unfortunately, the rooms are anything but comfortable and do not look like the pictures on the website. The rooms are disproportionately small and are a maximum of 10 square meters. In addition, there are no cutlery, cups or a kettle in the kitchenette; you will only find a refrigerator and a microwave. The location of the hotel is good, bus stops right on the doorstep. Line 49 runs every 10-15 minutes towards Fishermans Warf.On California Street you can easily get on one of the 3 cable car lines and travel across the city. On Polk Street just around the corner you will find many small shops, bars and restaurants. Supermarkets are also within walking distance. All in all, San Francisco is a beautiful city and the trip there was an incredibly great experience, even if the tiny room dampened our mood a bit at the beginning.P.s. We were actually only in the hotel to sleep.

Lina Bobrova: Hotel is perfectly located in the middle of the town making it very easy to walk everywhere. The rooms are clean and the bed is comfortable. You have everything necessary in your room such as fridge, microwave, corkscrew, shampoos and shower gels. The staff is extremely helpful and nice with any request. Code locks are convenient, so you don’t have to carry around the actual key. They always offer water and some small snacks at the reception. Highly recommended for the great value for money.Rooms: The rooms have all necessary equipment and are clean.Safety: The staff is always on site, the doors are locked with the codes. The area is safe and pretty crowded any time of the day.

Willow: Really wonderful themeing and staff. Very accommodating to my elderly grandfather. The breakfast was super tasty and the location is great. There's even a late night karaoke right behind the building! The lounge and bar downstairs was THE place to be.Rooms: Great bathroom set up with huge shower! The complimentary toiletries were so nice I actually took the lotion home, which I never do.Nearby activities: We went to the late night karaoke behind the hotel and my sibling and I felt safe walking to and from even at 2am. Also the malls next door were the perfect way to spend our day. We could even stay parked in the same garage! It clearly the local place to be on a Saturday, very fun.Safety: I informed them of my grandfather's condition and they made me feel very safe in knowing that if he slipped away from me they would make sure he didn't wander off.Walkability: Very centrally located in japantown. It's just far enough away from things that is not scary at night by yourself but still surrounded everything from food to shopping to places to just hang out and chillFood & drinks: Breakfast was very good. The fruit was super juicy and the options were very balanced leaving you ready for a day out on the town.

Jess Tetro: Friendly staff and quality rooms. Awesome art on the doors. Comfy lounge with cool theme. Love the court yard with fish pond. Clean and comfy room. Spacious shower. Would definitely stay here again.Rooms: Clean, comfy. Nice shower. Space to do work.Nearby activities: 2 min for Ramen, 2 min tonJapan mall, 30 min walk to escape room, 5 min to Korean hot pot restaurantSafety: Card keys work well. Rooms lock nicelyNoteworthy details: Beautiful art, nicely decorated lounge, nature filled courtyard with pond

W: The lobby was decorated nicely and the gym was well equipped. There is a fully automated coffee maker and seltzer water station. For $33 pp plus tip / tax for the breakfast I was expecting a lot more. Fruit and coffee were fresh and nice, but potatoes were stale and the only egg choice was slightly undercooked scrambled eggs. No options for fried eggs or omelets. Other options like sausage / pancakes / oatmeal / granola were good. The service was very friendly. The room was ok, but a little loud from the toilet / pipes and street / cars. Bedding was nice and there was a mini fridge.

junior vallejo: Great

Iqbal Bharoocha: Very clean and neat

Edward Altamirano: Stayed there when I was offered a job at TGIF in San Bruno. The room were nice and the location of the hotel was centrally located for our excursions around town. The beds were ok, and one of my buddies slept on the floor. He said it wasn’t too bad. For my first visit to SF, the hotel offered us everything we needed for the trip at a reasonably good price.

Kenneth Cooney: This place is use for I'm glad it's around

Live Wire TV: Not bad. Questionable neighborhood unfortunately.

Michael Candelaria: Clean, safe, secure, pleasant staff, good prices by comparison. Close to transit within 1-2 blks to everything in all directions and the Metro and Cable Cars.

Douglas S: This is one of my top 3 budget hotels. It's older, but it's totally clean. The beds are new and really comfortable. The 40 inch TV has DISH. The shared bathrooms are very clean. The owners are really nice. Its one block into the Tenderloin so the hood is creepy, but its just homeless they don't bother you. A block away is Market St and its fine. It's a budget hotel. It's a great value.Safety: The neighborhood is a little sad but in reality its homeless and I've never had any problems. It's one block into the "TL". Stay east of the hood. No one will bother you.

Ernesto Larrondo: Excellent, very clean, very friendly owners, it is the second time I have stayed and I would like to continue coming, the location is very goodRooms: They are comfortable and very clean, now they have a small refrigerator, it is much more comfortableNearby activities: Union square, tram, market street, mall, Saks outlet stores and northdromSafety: It's a tenderloin but people don't botherWalkability: It is very close to everything and transportation

adrien elizabeth: The staff are friendly and welcoming. The hotel near the main street is very pleasant.I stayed there alone with my daughter and the previous comments made me dread my stay. Outside of the site, I felt safe, so yes we met homeless people but they never bothered me. Being homeless doesn't mean violent, don't have unnecessary prejudices.Value for money at the height.Thank you for everything French.

jessie le roux: Friendly staff, great location. There are few homeless people on the street, they don't bother you, don't worry about them. Shared bathroom and toilet but very clean. I recommendRooms: Basic room with TV and personal sink. Clean bed with towels included.Safety: You feel safe in the hotel as well as outside.Walkability: Well located and close to all transport!

Giuseppe Stawallera (CAPOCCHIA): Very nice family oriented small hotel, great rates, clean shared bathroom, very unusual for the area, stayed there multiple times and they usually take good care of meNo complaints

Elena Demidova: Great, clean, family run hotel, exceeded all expectations for a low price. The staff was very attentive to our requests for directions, leaving things and other questions. The location is very good, walking distance to Union Square, branded stores, cable tram, Ferry Building and many other attractions. The rooms are very clean, clean linen. The toilets and showers are constantly cleaned. Quiet, cozy place in the city center!P.S. The homeless people did not interfere or pester us, even when they returned late, but on the contrary, they added variety to our journey.

Caroline Sims: were not active/didn’t work.3. I am a female that travels alone for business and more often than not elect to order food via a courier service and have it dropped at my door. This is also a convenience as I take multiple virtual meetings from my hotel room. I ordered food 6 times during my three day stay, and was called twice by the front desk stating it’s a security issue. Perhaps you all need to collaborate on your security processes for the courtyard rooms - you definitely didn’t seem to notice the first four couriers. Makes me wonder how often they’re really paying attention.4. And I respect that this was due to availability and the hotel likely having no other rooms available. They posted me up right next to the utility closet. Door slamming at all hours

Simone Guzzi: From the reviews I read I expected a disaster... but I don't understand what people are complaining about...Nice, clean, friendly and smiling staff...security in the evening/night....rooms equipped with many comforts....Excellent experience

Miguel Gómez: First you have to know that the Google photos are old, there is currently no homeless outside the hotel and the streets are clean. Now talking about the hotel, it really is one of the cheapest in SF, it is nice, it is not luxurious, it is not 5 stars but it is clean, tidy, the staff is attentive except for some security guards, the rooms are comfortable and clean, the bathroom is large and clean, it has Parking for $65 per night or day, if you bring a car, this hotel may not be the best idea because those $65 per day double the price/day of the room. The location of the hotel is the best, it is close to all forms of transportation MUNI BART ECT. It is close to food stores, shopping malls and close to the China Town Market Street Pier financial district. I recommend it . I leave you some photos of how we found it in March 2024.

David Perez: I never leave reviews but they deserve it. Staff was very friendly and informative, building was very clean and smelled good. My favorite part was NO parking fee!! I'm glad we stayed here we'll be back next time we come to the cityService: 5/5 …

marcia craw: Rooms: Clean comfortNearby activities: Everything was in walking distanceSafety: Felt very safeWalkability: GreatFood & drinks: Amazing

Laura O: on one slice of sourdough bread. The menu said BLT on baguette with blah blah aioli...sounded good. It was not and the waiter then tried to argue with us about what a baguette was, then tried to tell us that because we were tourists we didn't understand. We aren't, we are from Alameda and just stayed over to go to dinner at HOPR and not have to drive home late after drinking...The calamari was OLD. Like fishy smelling/tasting. We had lunch for four people and it was $250 before tip. Lunch. We went to dinner at HOPR and paid far less for WAY better food. To make a long story long....stay at this hotel because its nice/clean/in a great location but avoid their restaurant like its the plague.Rooms: Rooms are super cute. The beds are comfortable and everything is clean and nice.Nearby activities: There is a cool museum/arcade a few blocks away. You're basically in the middle of the wharf so there is a ton of stuff to do if you're new to the area. If you are not new to the area, you will be sad to see all the old timer restaurants are shuttered

Steve May: Loved our stay at Argonaut. It was clean, the staff was friendly, the neighborhood felt safe. Great location for exploring San Francisco. Really loved our morning walks to see the Harbor Seals and grab coffee.Nearby activities: 10 minute stroll to the Harbor Seals.

Vivian Y: Excellent location and plenty of amenities. But I ended up having to contact the front desk a lot about things that I was supposed to have included in my package like free breakfast and late checkout. The room was cute, but more dimly lit than I prefer. The Jacuzzi tub was a huge highlight, but many of the bathroom fixtures also felt outdated.Overall, I enjoyed my stay and might go back due to the excellent location, but I'm not sure.

Kraig S: , but it did not accumulate. So, you were expected to use the hotel services daily and even with the credit applied, it was fairly pricey for the area.

Elisa Cavaliere: was delicious and they have a VERY good happy hour from 4-6 with half off food and drinks. Pretty much this place is fantastic and you should 100% stay here! Oh yeah and EXTREMELY IMPORTANT, the Bed and Pillows were like sleeping on clouds! We slept like babies and woke up so rested! 10/10 stay here !

Antony Savvas: A very pleasant three night stay, a very welcoming reception, a well pointed room for chargers, good air con if u need it, perfect location for piers and alcatraz trips, and trams, walking distance to metro, nice pastries and coffee served in the morning as part of your stay, and integrated with the popular Perry's restaurant which has a very varied all-day menu.

Heather: tub, but has very little natural light. The hotel is cute and located in a good area, a short walk from the Ferry Building Market and the Embarcadero BART station. As others have mentioned, there is a $20 "amenity fee" payable directly to the hotel no matter who you book with, which they justify saying it pays for WIFI

Terry WC: Decent restaurant a bit pricey

Eva Tutone: Another great stay for my cat. The pics were wonderful and Luna looked like she was really enjoying herself - relaxed for a cat in a new environment.

Linda Smith: This was our first time using a dog daycare service. The team was inviting and pleasant; and we appreciated receiving photos.

Karna C: Cash loves running around the fishbowl with the staff.

Maddy L: Wag hotels is really a godsend. We were struggling to find affordable good care for our dog at the last minute and wag really saved us so much time, money, and stress. Pictures were sent every day to check in with our dog and we always felt she was in good hands which helped us relax while we were away. Staff was super friendly and accommodating and helpful with booking questions. Thank you Wag!

Randi Swindel: They take great care of my dog, and send photos every day. Easy to make a reservation and staff is good

C Ba: 100% recommend !

Kat: The best Wag hotel my dog has stayed at. Very attentive staff.

M H: Coco having fun in the sun with her friends

Patrick Callahan: Wag hotels has been really great with my 9 yo husky. I needed to board her for the first time during a week trip away and they offered free daycare to help her adjust to the new environment. They send multiple photos per day when you’re away to check on your dog. Will absolutely be bringing her back. Thank you wag!

Sarah Williams: frequently and can also access the camera. Thank you, Wags!

Raymond Moczulski: Prompt, excellent service at check-in desk by Francisco and great care and grooming by Francisco the groomer. Both men treat my mastiff, Bixby, as their own! Highly recommended!

Kayleigh Lamerand: Great place

Eyckens Brenda: Bring my dog to wag hotel for day care while having to go for corporate meetings in the city. The drop off and pick up process is usually smooth and people are always very friendly. I love the pictures they take of my during play time and the app makes it easy to update vaccinations as well as making bookings and reservations.

Johnny Mon: Excellent service. The staff there seems to really care about the pets My baby boy Koda is a handful but the staff took it in stride and performed with the utmost care and patience

Christine Ngaruiya: is manageable. We are satisfied Frequent Waggers.

Elisa O'Dell: Love the all day play!

vanessa magdaleno: I loved the experience my dog, Abby had here. Also in comparison to other dog boarding in the area it was more affordable. My favorite part is that they let the dogs play with each other and have playtime versus other boarding places that will charge you extra by basically guilt tripping you that your dog will be locked up in a cage the whole time. I got pictures throughout the day of her and it brought me so much joy to know she was in good hands! Thank you Wag staff, you guys rock!

Margaret Colfer: Great service

Tara Christian: . They administer medications and follow your feeding schedule. The staff members are very caring and easy to talk so. If you ever feel uncomfortable boarding your dog, you can book them a suite with a camera so you can check in to ease your mind! You can even take them toys and treats for their stay. Overall, Lando was socialized and had a great experience while we were out of town! Thank you Wag team!

Amod Desai: Eryn and her team were incredibly patient and thoughtful with my dog - would highly recommend this location. My pet has special needs and medical conditions and these were all addressed by the Wag SF staff, led by Eryn.

Chris C.: This hotel exceeded my expectations for the price. It's very clean, with hard wood floors and a fully stocked minibar and snacks. The room was tastefully designed and relatively quiet aside from some occasional street noise. They supply ear plugs in the rooms if you're a light sleeper. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The woman I spoke to left the office and walked down the street with me a bit to show me where to go for the BART.

Ra Wi: You can hear the street noise and the nightly clean-up work on the street clearly. But it didn't bother us.

Giorgia Chirchiglia: , only 2 mins walk from union.Recommended

Louis Lombardo: Great hotel, nice and clean rooms, well located near union square.

Peter Matthews: + clean room, comfortable bed, and good HVAC system+ good location as it is walkable to Union Square, Moscone center, and Bart station- can hear a bit of external noise in room as the window insulation is not great- The wood frame around the bed is weird. Be careful or you may trip and hurt yourself- The sink in bath is very small and has a shelf plank halfway over it, making it a bit awkward to use the sink- mini fridge in the room was stuffed with overpriced drinks Hotel wants to sell you and literally no room to keep anything you would buy on your own.- Table in room is very small. There is a separate lounge for working more comfortably.

Nicole Bliss: This hotel was conveniently located and cozy. The rooms are small, but well laid out and nicely decorated, so it felt like plenty of space for two people for a long weekend. However, the elevator was not functional during our stay, meaning a lot of steps to climb with luggage. Also, the scent diffused in the lobby was a nice smell but very overpowering. As someone who is prone to getting migraines from strong perfumes, I felt like I had to keep the amount of time spent downstairs to a bare minimum.

Tim: A fantastic hotel - what people say about the scent is true this is one of the best smelling places on the planet. Breakfast gets the job done, ok coffee and good croissants. Rooms are good size and comfy bed and pillows. No shower door or barrier in bathroom so very intimate, but other rooms may be different. Pretty quiet after midnight we had no trouble sleeping 7 hours uninterrupted.

Adam Saltan: An exceptional hotel in the center of the city, pretty and charming. The Palihotel San Francisco is probably my favorite hotel in the world. It is unique, with its own character and soul, offering a lot of charm. The hotel is stylish, modern and very well decorated. The rooms are of good taste, clean, comfortable, and big enough. The bathrooms are great, with walk-in showers and nice soaps from Diptyque.Location is great too, right next to Union Square, enabling you to travel around very easily. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel too, which is very convenient. Regarding safety, I felt safe going out even being alone as it’s in a good area of the neighbourhood. It is my second stay here, and I’m sure I’ll come again.

Leslee Watt: Small rooms, but clean, charming, and very friendly staff. Good pastries in the mornings and a great location right on the cusp of that epic San Fran grit.

When she found out it was our son’s Birthday weekend, she made it extra special by sending him a personal birthday card and a gift. Vinny T: Just a fantastic stay at this hotel last week from Tue to Friday. From Jane at the front desk to the room service staff, they were all extremely helpful and the rooms were clean and comfortable bedding, quiet AC. As a Marriott Platinum member I was made to feel special during the check-in. Definitely a benchmark for other Marriott properties.

DvGns DG: This place was really good I am kinda late to review this place but I was obsessed with the lobby and the pool. Once in a while they put movies for kids to watch in the pool and its old class made the whole hotel chic.

J. R.: , excellent service, the individual petit sandwiches were delicious and the desserts provided were nicely displayed and tasty. Beware, just the tea service will run you $65 each. We purchased a bottle of Chandon sparkling wine and that added another $75 to our tab, plus the Palace valet parking is another $30

The Simple Travels: Situated in the financial district of San Francisco the hotel is easy to get to from the airport via the BART Montgomery St Station. While the Palace Hotel is a fantastic overall hotel, the crown jewel is indeed the Garden Court. Situated in the heart of the hotel, enjoy breakfast from the menu or from the buffet or have lunch or tea.Visit the Pied Piper Restaurant to see the famous painting and visited the small mini museum of keepsakes from hotel past. The hotel staff was fantastic from Juan at the concierge desk to Yenny from house keeping. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and most certainly would return if/when we get a chance.

Shirley Kay Smith: Location may be less than desirable, but mainly people OUTSIDE of The Proper Hotel area who are unfortunately afflicted by drug addiction, but leave you alone and are non violent. The Proper Hotel is an absolute Oasis with beautiful eclectic design, amazing food and great service! Cristian was always cheerful and ready to help at the front door, we appreciate him! This is our third stay and we will be back! 👏☺️

Nicole Newman: The doorman, Adiel was extremely friendly! As soon as he opened the door, I was greeted with the most infectious smile! He assisted me with obtaining me access to my Uber. The hotel overall has been a pleasure!Rooms: Cute & quaintNearby activities: Access to the entire citySafety: Felt very self!Food & drinks: DeliciousNoteworthy details: Friendly and hospitable

Mariah Dillard: The rooms and service here are absolutely stunning! We got a complimentary glass of champagne when we arrived. Checking in was super easy! The rooms are amazing and you get quality amenities and toiletries. The location is tricky because it’s super close to a lot of attractions and fun areas but directly outside of the hotel there are unfortunately many unhoused folks and sometimes in the evening it can get loud. Still a great experience and I know there’s not much they can do about the homelessness. I would still definitely recommend that people stay here - it’s quite lovely!Rooms: Rooms are classy and luxurious!Walkability: Very walkable to different neighborhoods!

Marc-Aurèle Besner: Beautiful hotel, the art deco decor is elegant and the service is excellent 👌Rooms: The room is a beautiful, clean, great variety of care products and full mini barFood & drinks: The rooftop bar is awesome, with a great view and great cocktail

Amanda Peters: Great stay here. All the staff was friendly. Even better, it seemed like they enjoyed their job. The room was smallish but very clean. It had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and the sheets smelled of gardenia. The soap was great. Attached restaurant very tasty.

John Emmett Patterson: Proper is right down the street from my house. Proper is chic without being beyond grasp. I live for a dark hotel for the romantic ossibilities and because I have never seen a child in the hotel ever.Their Concierge service is flawless. The valet is so attentive. And i've seen them arrange unique vehicles such as a 1967 cadillac el dorado convertible for rent. It was for a couple to do a coastal tour. This hotel is dripping in hospitality. The only drawback to the proper hotel is that it's in my neighborhood, a neighborhood that was compared to the slums of Sri Lanka not too long ago in a local paper And I personally believe that was an understatement period don't hesitate to book yourself into the Proper, it's totally worth it.

Lynn Lomibao: Warren is the dude! I was traveling solo, and he made me feel so safe and taken care of. A true asset to this hotel! The hotel itself is gorgeous — every detail a work of art and also functional. Charmaine’s, the rooftop bar, is beautiful, with a lovely menu for both drinks and food. The neighborhood might be off-putting for some. But being from LA, it wasn’t a big adjustment for me. I will definitely be back!

From an excellent setup for keeping water in your room

Rick Albers: Walkability: You are in Pacific Heights. Emphasis on the "heights." There are hills. It is a residential neighborhood with not much in the way of services around it. Yes, you can walk 4 blocks to a market. Or 8 blocks to a shop. But then you need to walk up hill on the way back. Be prepared to use a car to go wherever it is you need to go.

Maria Victoria Otaño: It is not a 5 star hotel, but it is very charming. I loved the room, small but well appointed, with beautiful antique furniture. The super comfortable bed, the small but functional bathroom. Breakfast was in a hotel a few meters away, and it met my expectations.Walkability: Super well located to visit tourist spots on foot and to do shopping.Noteworthy details: Be careful with the parking. At the hotel they told us a price, and at the parking lot they wanted to charge us much more. So we left the car in another parking lot, a little further away but at a reasonable price. Those in the parking lot in front, a shame!

MIchael Dean: Totally charmed by the it's and bits that speckle the walls, the elevator is best, a bit like Alice"s fall into Wonderland.Very clean, well heated, cozy more than small, breakfast 2 doors down, at the French Hotel downstairs, not the Grant. Our host, "Skittles" and crew, greeted us when we entered and made us feel special, which, of course, we are.

Peter Leahy: walking distance Union Station but very steep. Can get Powell St Cable Car right from Station to Pier 39. Close to China Town and of course Lygon St a must.Safety: Never felt unsafe except for being robbed at rail station vending machine by the man in the last photo with his sleeping gear.!!!!!! He volunteered to help us navigate the ticket machine then ran off with the $20 banknote.Walkability: Very close in walking distance but steep for 70 yo.
