Brock: Thoughtfully curated collection of books and a history that is as colorful as it is rich. What more could you ask for? Oh and I nearly forgot to mention the lovely gentleman at the front desk who watched our son’s stroller for us as we shopped/toured. 11/10 would recommend.
Joe Pfister: Nice place great selection
Dylan Gallagher: A very large and organized bookstore; Great customer service. A cafe inside. They have a wide range of reading options. Color rooms. You can find something for someone. paid parking; Depending on when you go, finding parking can be a challenge. I went mid-week and it wasn't bad. It was blocked from the entrance. There are also souvenirs available for purchase on site. 10/10 recommend.

Krishin Asnani: My doorman informed me that this store was closing and so had to pay a visit to see and say goodbye to it’s manager Jerry Thompson who was one of the first people I met when I arrived here 18 months ago ;I hung out with him manning the cashier and exchanged bon mots ; after he saw my essay, he was the one to gift me Herb Cains classic book of essays on SF; it was variegated store with its tentacles that start with literature and then move into in all departments including American studies , travel essays , photography;Hope it finds a new home.
Thomas Yan: Closing at the end of April 2023. Currently 45% off, please stop by for a visit before they shutter their doors!
Katie Koche: This store is going out of business in the end of April 2023. They are currently offering 25% off everything: endless selections of books, journals, maps, puzzles… I would recommend checking the title of the book on their website to see if it’s on the shelf. Or just get surprised. It’s sad to see another bookstore going out of business in SF.
Shreya Arora: What a treat it is to visit this bookstore. Great selection and wonderful staff
David Jarvis: Great bookstore in Financial District SF. Solid selection.
TCW Sam Vimes: Great selection, helpful and very friendly service.
Jet Lepper: I like this book store well enough. They have a large selection of books and I appreciate that they mark down damaged books rather than sell them for full price. Worth checking out if you're in the area.
Felipe Cejudo: A very familiar and traditional place to find a good book
thibaud lacoudre: Large bookstore, lots of choice.Good advice
Laura: Awesome independent bookstore with an amazing selection of books, cards, and gifts crammed into three glorious floors. You could easily pass an afternoon here, wandering through and discovering new authors and titles.
Neal: "Three Floors of Books"If you're looking for a reading material, look no further. Inside this well-lit bookstore, you'll find thousands of books ranging from poems to photo books. There are books on sale, but most are full price. In my opinion, the best titles are in the basement. Even if you're not interested in buying a book, this is a peaceful place to check out.
Richard Murray: Great people, great books!
aLLeYWay macK415: I like the 3 floors. I like the business, computer section. Staff friendly, professional and knowledgeable.

Taha Zaidi: Great selection of used books nestled away in a quiet bookstore. They also have some nice greeting / holiday cards at the front. The folks working were very helpful and polite.
Ariel: What can I say about Russian Hill Bookstore that hasn’t already been said? I’ve been to many bookstores in SF and naturally I love them all because, hello, books. But RHB is something special. The staff are SO KIND, the gift area up front is full of cute stuff, the greeting cards are plentiful and is my go-to for card-worthy-occasions, the children’s section is adorable and although I’m an adult you can bet I’ve bought a Jellycat plushie for myself. They even have a horror section which, ugh, fills my heart ever so. For me that’s the mark of a good bookstore, but I am creepily biased. Also I LOVE that they started carrying minis in the store!!! Smiskis, people, SMISKIS!! RHB has only gotten better through the years and I can’t wait to continue watching them flourish. A must if you’re in the area.
Kate: Very atmospheric place, cool souvenirs to buy. Just couldn’t find Self-Help section.
ha ngan le: This bookstore becomes one of my favorite 5 minutes stepping in!!!!!! Its a used bookstore and the selection has like toni morisson, james baldwin, viet thanh nguyen, etc like all my favs?! They also has a vintage/ archive selection of photos and cards please please check out
n feehan: incredible selection
Taro Sato: , and we have fewer used bookshelves in the Bay Area compared to just a few years ago. It's not a large store but I like Russian Hill Bookstore for its quirky

Emil Roennow: Amazing 😍
Colin Richardson: Great for books, cards, games, little gifts. Marvellous independent store that was available during the pandemic and continues to be an institution.
Pia Relles-Powell: and the shop keepers were knowledgeable and well informed with recommendations which he loved. I’m so grateful for your assistance in making it a great birthday for him.
Fernando Gomes Araújo: Amazing book store with friendly staff
F W: Okayish selection, a bit on the expensive side.
Jun Li: It's very nice of them to let me post a community card on the board. I thank the gentleman for that. Sorry I didn't get a chance to purchase a card. Maybe next time when I swing by. Thank you. And happy holidays to come.
Nicole Segura: It's a very cozy bookstore. I love that they also have other things, like candles, boardgames, notebooks, cups, even socks that work great for small gifts. One of my favorite things is going through the old photo collection in the back.
Matthew VanDerhoof: Best book store in San Francisco. Great selection of new and used books. Somehow they have everything. In the back they have a great Sci Fi collection. They also have a lot of board games and card games. On top of all that , it's a great place to get gifts for people.

Krishin Asnani: I wish I could buy this entire store ; its design and display achieves a sublime balance between high art and warmth ; your eye flits amongst books and posters and makes unexpected connections ; this does result in nice impulsive buying; I will visit more often as I am registered to take a modern architecture class at Stanford. Vernon and staff are well informed, dispatching their knowledge with ease and warmth.

Ariel: , but also because my love for this store knows no bounds. It’s truly my dream come true. A bookstore that specializes in horror, Sci-Fi, and fantasy? Are you KIDDING ME? Take my money. Not to mention the owner is kind and welcoming, Jude is an absolute doll, and Eleanor is everything I hope to be in life… Borderlands is a must. An institution. You’ll always find something here 💛🔪
Chris Conrad: Best sf/f selection in the entire region!!
Lindsey Hall: It's a bookstore filled with sci fi/fantasy and horror. Inherently delightful. On top of that you can tell the employees love these genres and helping people find books they'll love. I was lucky to come in while Scott was working and his recommendations were spot on first try. Easily one of the best experiences I've had in a bookstore.
Jason Siow: Amazing place for sci fi and fantasy. Got all 3 books of The Farseer Trilogy used for $16.
Eli: I came in during the holidays for a last-minute gift. The sci-fi book series i was looking for was small batch printed and hard to find, so i went and asked for some advice or recommendations. there were two people, and they were both incredibly helpful in finding a book even better than what i was looking for. I have limited science fiction knowledge, but the people at Borderland Books were so helpful in finding the perfect book. They have a great selection and awesome staff.

Karen Madero: overall five stars for cool ambience, selection, and lots of friendly employees happy to help you. only feedback is, as a new customer, i was not able to find clear pricing on used books.
Lauren Cono: ! I've taken my team and many friends here esp when walking towards Dolores Park or on a lunch break. Always has nice foot traffic and discounted titles outside in a cart while the inside is piled with treasures. Literary events, friendly staff and I can stop by anytime and reliably buy an Italo Calvino book for a friend
Marlon Palma: Amazing collection of books even in Spanish!
American Lover: Dog Eared Books is The Classic, extensive vintage, the timeless bookstore experience. Outstanding museum of literature.
Pablo Coll: Great bookstore with new and second-hand books. Very friendly and helpful staff. 100% recommendable
Johnny Tisdale: I absolutely adore Dog Eared Books. A gem of the Mission, it is by far one of the most special bookstores I have ever set foot in. It's relatively small, but its shelves are lined with all killer, no filler. I could spend hours just browsing. The staff are extremely passionate about what they do. I had the pleasure of overhearing one employee respond to a customer's request for weird fiction recommendations. The way he waxed poetic about various novels, describing with childlike glee the depths of their strangeness, betrayed a sense of meaning and purpose. That individual was made to sell books.
Jessica w: Super cute and well priced book store. Super friendly staff. A must visit
Sophia: So cute! Bought a cute tote bag from there and I use it all the time
Gavin Zau: Nice local book store. Knowledgeable staff and interesting selections
Kathryn Fortin: Smells like a wonderful new & used bookstore! Go get a whiff and buy some cool books!

Jihyun Lee: They have great collection of books. I love this place.
kykynest YF: Lovely place. It is linked to Peet's entrance, so your can get your book and go read it with a nice cupa. Staff does a great job putting together theamed book displays. And all the little extras like journals, stuffed toys, greeting cards are nice.
Fabricio Garcia: My favorite place to buy books

Erik E.: An important retailer in the neighborhood! Great cards, puzzles and more in addition to books. Always a treat in the sale section.
Theresa: Nice, clean and organized store. I purchased a hard cover sketch book for $12.00!!
Ferry Swinkels: Nice shop. Bigger and quite a lot more books than you'd expect from the shops' photo.
Nothing Follows: to get One Nation Under Blackmail, but only the Vol.1 was readily available. Then, the store owner was kind enough to help me get the Vol.2.The estimated arrival of the said book was 2-3 days. It arrived just the day after my request. What a service. They got a handful of books about birds, but there's not much space in my luggage. But still, I had to choose two from the stack. One was on sale, so it was a steal. I just couldn't pass it up.
Sheila Vingo: An all-around great book store with good selection of books, cool stationary, magazines, cards etc. Very helpful, knowledgeable staff. Authors and other literacy events are hosted in-store as well. Graham Willcox: an incredible place for young kids & their under caffeinated parents
Tori C: and they explained they can make drinks more dry upon request. I was trying to communicate that I wanted a cappuccino as a cappuccino not a flat white type drink and well that didnt go well.It was like a weird cross between a macchiato and an attempted cap, the foam was thrown on top like it had been spooned out separately and there wasnt the normal natural transition from the milk to the foam. It was so disheartening. I did try to drink it but the flavor and textures were so off i truly couldnt.Back to something good tho, I got a normal green tea another day and it was good to drink and have with the sweets treats i could not keep myself away from haha.I would still go back and I do still recommend. Maybe just dont go with the mindset of having a normal cappuccino like I did.
Laura Austin: This place was so cute
Ksenia Postolnik: definitely come back!🎈
Joan Nguyen: I got the iced matcha latte with oat milk and vanilla sweetner. It was really good quality and one of the best matchas i’ve had so far in SF! Drink was a rich green color, so that was a tell tale sign it was good quality matcha.-1 star because the only alternative milk they have is oat milk. I would love if they had almond or soy too.
Ana Vizcarrondo Goyanes: Incredible pastries, I tried the tahini brownie and the babka
Ariana Ïoana: Tasty pricey cakes & lush backyard to relax, read, and enjoy the sweets ✨
Chereeka Biln: Beautiful bookshop with a wonderful selection of reads. Quiet reading garden was a great spot to sip my tea.
Jon Nykamp: This is a nice bookstore located in a great neighborhood near the beach and at least one great restaurant. There is a very nice garden in back where kids can play with trains while the adults sit near them and enjoy good coffee available at the Cafe.
