Brock: Thoughtfully curated collection of books and a history that is as colorful as it is rich. What more could you ask for? Oh and I nearly forgot to mention the lovely gentleman at the front desk who watched our son’s stroller for us as we shopped/toured. 11/10 would recommend.
Joe Pfister: Nice place great selection
Dylan Gallagher: A very large and organized bookstore; Great customer service. A cafe inside. They have a wide range of reading options. Color rooms. You can find something for someone. paid parking; Depending on when you go, finding parking can be a challenge. I went mid-week and it wasn't bad. It was blocked from the entrance. There are also souvenirs available for purchase on site. 10/10 recommend.

Glen Thomas: Very peaceful spot with friendly management. But books here and go to their jazz shows!
Annette A Aguilar: Best in books and music
Darryl Diptee: . May want to call ahead to get your name on the list for entry, just in case as it's limited seating. A very unique experience, great for a date night ☺️
Stuart Fitzgerald: Best books & best live jazz. A San Francisco staple. The whole operation is run by Eric. One of the nicest human beings you will ever encounter.
Jon MacLellan: Attended a jazz tribute concert. Amazing host. Book store is a staple of the community.
malavika: one of the best places in the neighborhood. lovely bookstore that hosts live music performances mostly open to everyone. such a treasure!will highly recommending getting your books here to support an amazing local business!
Jeff: Is it unfair to rate a bookstore that I've only visited after hours? Not if it's to review world-class jazz at said bookstore! My wife & I saw the Joe McKinley quartet last week and it was a fantastic experience. As a band, you have to be tight if you're going to play in a bookstore because the acoustics are so intimate. No reverb to cover up mistakes, and these guys were top-notch. They played some standards and some originals, and it was all great stuff.
Justin Chiang: great collection, lovely store
Julia Selker: I am a seasoned bookstore tourist. I have never had such a transcendental hour at a bookstore. They have an expertly balanced selection of old friends and new discoveries all organized in a perfect orientation for extended browsing while live music enhances the atmosphere. Live music! Shelves not overcrowded but still pleasantly abundant, with mysterious extra piles in little corners. Brilliant and effective - will transport you entirely.
Marilyn Sullivan: Wonderful bookstore, and jazz too!
Stanley Pollack: Great little venue for great jazz musicians. Respectful audience. Eric is the consummate host.
Suvrajit Saha: Charming book store with some of the best live jazz in the city....a true hidden gem 💎

Ugo Coppari: Very bright library.
Erin Yu: This is the kind of business that makes you want to shop local! The service is fantastic - I ordered a book to HAWAII on December 19th and they had it delivered to me by the 22nd... Amazon could never. Fabulous little gem of a shop tucked away in North Beach. It's a wonderful resource across all levels of Italian knowledge - I'm a total beginner and got all my textbooks, reference books, and workbooks there.
Jessica: Lovely, light filled little bookstore in North Beach with a great selection of Italian language books- including textbooks, novels and dictionaries, for readers at every level. If you're looking for a book that isn't in stock, they can order it for you. There are also travel books, cookbooks and popular non fiction books in English. If you go in the middle of the day during the week, it's much easier to find parking, but you can also order via the website to have books sent directly to your home. Service is friendly and warm.
Barbara Williamson: I found book I wanted and even audio so I can listen to the material as I read it.
Navneet Rao (Nav): A fantastic, well lit place with a cozy vibe. They have an intriguing collection of books, and the proprietor is a wonderful person!
R. J.: I've ordered books from the website maybe 5-6 times, and they always get my order processed and shipped very quickly. I had one small issue that I emailed about which they addressed within 24 hours, and the person I worked with was very helpful. The selection is great, as well. I highly recommend ordering from their website if you're not local.
Terrie Chan: Clean, well lit, spacious, bookstore with generous selection of Italian related books, music and more.Pino helpful and informative with music cds, Live Italian Music evening info, etc.
Diana Rodriguez: Big thanks to Liberia Pino owner and staff for keeping such a wonderful cultural space open to everyone and for organizing events such as Italian music nights and book clubs.
Anna Lisa Gentile: An amazing space for Italian literature
Blanca Martinez: Awesome selection! Great customer service!
Eugenie Marek: Wonderful feeling to browse in this new, larger store! So many books, even a second level. Great service.
Raquel: Great local bookstore in North Beach, SF. I forgot about my book o specially ordered and they contacted me to come pick it up. Really appreciate and happy to have them in the city

Ariel: , but also because my love for this store knows no bounds. It’s truly my dream come true. A bookstore that specializes in horror, Sci-Fi, and fantasy? Are you KIDDING ME? Take my money. Not to mention the owner is kind and welcoming, Jude is an absolute doll, and Eleanor is everything I hope to be in life… Borderlands is a must. An institution. You’ll always find something here 💛🔪
Chris Conrad: Best sf/f selection in the entire region!!
Lindsey Hall: It's a bookstore filled with sci fi/fantasy and horror. Inherently delightful. On top of that you can tell the employees love these genres and helping people find books they'll love. I was lucky to come in while Scott was working and his recommendations were spot on first try. Easily one of the best experiences I've had in a bookstore.
Jason Siow: Amazing place for sci fi and fantasy. Got all 3 books of The Farseer Trilogy used for $16.
Eli: I came in during the holidays for a last-minute gift. The sci-fi book series i was looking for was small batch printed and hard to find, so i went and asked for some advice or recommendations. there were two people, and they were both incredibly helpful in finding a book even better than what i was looking for. I have limited science fiction knowledge, but the people at Borderland Books were so helpful in finding the perfect book. They have a great selection and awesome staff.

Taha Zaidi: Great selection of used books nestled away in a quiet bookstore. They also have some nice greeting / holiday cards at the front. The folks working were very helpful and polite.
Ariel: What can I say about Russian Hill Bookstore that hasn’t already been said? I’ve been to many bookstores in SF and naturally I love them all because, hello, books. But RHB is something special. The staff are SO KIND, the gift area up front is full of cute stuff, the greeting cards are plentiful and is my go-to for card-worthy-occasions, the children’s section is adorable and although I’m an adult you can bet I’ve bought a Jellycat plushie for myself. They even have a horror section which, ugh, fills my heart ever so. For me that’s the mark of a good bookstore, but I am creepily biased. Also I LOVE that they started carrying minis in the store!!! Smiskis, people, SMISKIS!! RHB has only gotten better through the years and I can’t wait to continue watching them flourish. A must if you’re in the area.
Kate: Very atmospheric place, cool souvenirs to buy. Just couldn’t find Self-Help section.
ha ngan le: This bookstore becomes one of my favorite 5 minutes stepping in!!!!!! Its a used bookstore and the selection has like toni morisson, james baldwin, viet thanh nguyen, etc like all my favs?! They also has a vintage/ archive selection of photos and cards please please check out
n feehan: incredible selection
Taro Sato: , and we have fewer used bookshelves in the Bay Area compared to just a few years ago. It's not a large store but I like Russian Hill Bookstore for its quirky
Greg Collins: Great bookstore with new and used books. They have a really cool christianity section.
Emil Roennow: Amazing 😍
Colin Richardson: Great for books, cards, games, little gifts. Marvellous independent store that was available during the pandemic and continues to be an institution.
Pia Relles-Powell: and the shop keepers were knowledgeable and well informed with recommendations which he loved. I’m so grateful for your assistance in making it a great birthday for him.
Fernando Gomes Araújo: Amazing book store with friendly staff
F W: Okayish selection, a bit on the expensive side.
Jun Li: It's very nice of them to let me post a community card on the board. I thank the gentleman for that. Sorry I didn't get a chance to purchase a card. Maybe next time when I swing by. Thank you. And happy holidays to come.
Nicole Segura: It's a very cozy bookstore. I love that they also have other things, like candles, boardgames, notebooks, cups, even socks that work great for small gifts. One of my favorite things is going through the old photo collection in the back.
Matthew VanDerhoof: Best book store in San Francisco. Great selection of new and used books. Somehow they have everything. In the back they have a great Sci Fi collection. They also have a lot of board games and card games. On top of all that , it's a great place to get gifts for people.

Karen Madero: overall five stars for cool ambience, selection, and lots of friendly employees happy to help you. only feedback is, as a new customer, i was not able to find clear pricing on used books.
Lauren Cono: ! I've taken my team and many friends here esp when walking towards Dolores Park or on a lunch break. Always has nice foot traffic and discounted titles outside in a cart while the inside is piled with treasures. Literary events, friendly staff and I can stop by anytime and reliably buy an Italo Calvino book for a friend
Marlon Palma: Amazing collection of books even in Spanish!
American Lover: Dog Eared Books is The Classic, extensive vintage, the timeless bookstore experience. Outstanding museum of literature.
Pablo Coll: Great bookstore with new and second-hand books. Very friendly and helpful staff. 100% recommendable
Johnny Tisdale: I absolutely adore Dog Eared Books. A gem of the Mission, it is by far one of the most special bookstores I have ever set foot in. It's relatively small, but its shelves are lined with all killer, no filler. I could spend hours just browsing. The staff are extremely passionate about what they do. I had the pleasure of overhearing one employee respond to a customer's request for weird fiction recommendations. The way he waxed poetic about various novels, describing with childlike glee the depths of their strangeness, betrayed a sense of meaning and purpose. That individual was made to sell books.
Jessica w: Super cute and well priced book store. Super friendly staff. A must visit
Sophia: So cute! Bought a cute tote bag from there and I use it all the time
Gavin Zau: Nice local book store. Knowledgeable staff and interesting selections
Kathryn Fortin: Smells like a wonderful new & used bookstore! Go get a whiff and buy some cool books!

A Friedman: the only thing that was disappointing
Elizabeth Wroughton: .NO tv screens! Ambiance is “cool, cozy, librarian” and vinyl selection is deeeep.
Jeff Laprade: Oh the ambiance! Matched by the uniquely fantastic cocktail list that will entertain and satisfy. Friendly staff as the bar manager kindly answered my random questions about the drinks and didn’t the staff mind that we were at the bar for 4 hours and didn’t order too much.Very fancy tater tots.

Tatiana Hoover: This is a wonderful bookstore!! You can really feel the love for books and I wish I wasn’t just visiting the area, but lived nearby and that this was my bookstore ❤️Large selection, well organized and lovingly displayed. Lots of fun treasures for book lovers, including wrapped books with a single sentence written on the wrapper. The young woman at the register was friendly and welcoming. Cathy Lemons: I have performed every month, every year, at The Saloon since 1987. The residency I have still is the most precious gift from any club owner. It has anchored me in blues and American roots. The musician is honored at The Saloon. We are treated like the special people we are. Myron Mu and his sister Vera that own the club are the kindest, the most loyal, and the most honest of people. They have rewarded consistent musicisnship with a gig! And it's a free and open atmosphere, with a rich history. A priceless music venue in North Beach.
Richard Moore: ..Peet the guitarist/singer was superb, really enjoyed listening to him play..Will certainly make another visit next time we are over from the UK. Richard & Nicki.
Douglas S: Come out tonight!Classic of classics old dive blues bar. Cheapest, strongest drinks in all the land. Cash only..The bands are old school SF players. A lot of old famous players sit in regularly. The scene is classic San Francisco. Locals, tourists, freaks, weirdo's and a bunch of normals who end up letting loose on the dance floor cuz you'll have an unforgettable time of your life. Don't miss it...
James Chung: Loved the live music
Mike C: Nearly killed my self in the loos.Cash only. Good old fashioned type place.
