Justin Crespo: The blackberry almond croissant is sensational. If you’re not afraid to walk around unhoused people or those in more unfortunate situations, as many of the 1 star reviewers seemed to be, you will be rewarded with great pastries. They did initially forgot our coffee though.

Edward Pamintuan: on a Saturday. I was third in line. By the time the place opened there were 15 or so people in line. Line moves fast. The pastries were out of this world. Service line servers were friendly, quick and helpful. I ordered the plain, almond and ham and cheese croissants. They were all delectable. Plain had an amazing super flaky crunchy chewy and buttery quality. The ham and cheese had a great amount of ham and nicely aged mild cheese. The almond was very sweet with a crunchy glaze, almond marzipan type filling filling and also buttery. Get there when they open. Get it hot and fresh. What a breakfast!

Jacob Alfieri: Delicious food!!Recommended dishes Pastries …

Bryant Zeng: May 2024 Update: After trying all the other recommended shops, it's still the best croissants in SF.Their pastries were the most memorable food out of a week long trip to SF.The croissant is unmatched in flacky-ness, texture, and taste. The galette seemed pretty standard, but layering/laminating on the crust was unreal. We happened to meet the owner as we put away our dishes. One of the nicest people, and you can tell he really put a lot of passion into the bakery.

Geralyn Yparraguirre-Ong: Best chocolate croissant in the city. Hands down and I've had my share from the major fancy pants bakeries here. This place is worth the trip.If you've read the other reviews about the area being unsavory, yeah it's true and all but if you mind your own business and know where you're going you should be fine. Plus there's a ton of security out these days during the day throughout the area.

Rohit Pillai: *Their main location on Arguello Blvd is very busy so this is a nice alternative if you are looking to quickly get some really good croissants*A place to stop by whenever I'm in San Francisco. Their croissants are delicious. I usually have their Almond croissant and recently tried their blackberry almond hazelnut croissant and that's become my new favorite now. Their kouign amman is also really good. This location does get very busy if you are not there early in the day and they can run out of some items.

Nadia H: I’ve tried other croissants after arsicault and this is the one that I always come back to. The blackberry almond lives in my head rent free

Jack Boeger: Holy smokes the blueberry almond croissant is a mind blower.Food: 5/5 …

Ana Caroline: Great place to have a coffee and sandwichLovely service and the food was amazing

Janna Glaze: We’ve not been able to travel lately but coming here brings us back great memories. The lady and the guy at counter are nice people and the pastries are good.

gidi eig: Amazing almond croissant. Absolutely amazing

Tom DiPietropolo: Grandma is right... Wow

Mitch Mitchell: Les Gourmands is a surprisingly good for a neighborhood bakery! I try to avoid baked goods, but every so often, find that I just cant resist one of their pastries or sandwich specials. Every last thing I have bought from the folks that run the shop has been perfect. The folks that run the shop are true French and I think genuinely Parisian. They are always friendly and efficient. I love coming here, even if it is bad for me!

Marco Moreira: Great pastries

Dmitry Berezhnoy: Best French bakery in town, period. Delicious. Pricey. Worthless.

Jim Spinosa: Wonderful French bakery! Love their croissants & sandwiches.

Sanjana Singh: Delicious everything sold here except a bit expensive.

Samuel Singer: One of my favorites. I've moved away from SF but still enjoy this place when I get to visit. Pastries and coffee! 😀

Shahed Ameer: Wonderful bakery! Great croissants, danishes and a variety of other goodies. Very friendly owners too. Truly a taste of French boulangeries right here in the city

Barmak Heshmat: One of my top favorite bakeries, their chocolate puff is amazing

Gary Cole: French cafe which deserves your business.

Lina Bobrova: We happened to stay just across the corner from this bakery, so we went there every morning to grab coffee and freshly baked pastries. The croissants are amazing, the coffee is good with a lot of milk options. Staff is nice and the place itself cozy to stay inside.Dietary restrictions: Croissant are butter based, so they are ok for vegetarians.

Drew Rodrigues: Bomb croissants! But $6? Jesus!

Aaron Thomas: Absolutely a delight to have breakfast here. We were trying to find a French bakery in the area and we were pleasantly surprised to find this one. The pastries they had on offer presented a great selection as well as tasting amazing. We had asked for a mocha and were fully expecting to receive a paper coffee cup in a lid, we were excited to see that they had a large coffee cup brought out directly from the barista to our table. They are a little bit expensive but it is very much worth it in terms of flavor and quality. The atmosphere in the building is very nice, and they have pleasant music that fits the theme of the bakery itself. My wife is from France and she was very happy to find this place.

American Angler: Then, he said.."It's on Pine Street, on the left..right by the old Joy Hammer's Clamatorioum, where Weasel Stickinbox got her start. The La Boulangerie de San Francisco...you can't miss it. They've got Amazing pizza, Joy used to take all her girls there. So, I said.."Who the hell is Joy Hammer and what's a Clamatorioum?Well...he said "Joy ..and in her words...is the owner and the official taste tester of the Clamatorioum, and the Clamatorioum is where all those girls hang out when they're in town from Monte Rio. Too much info...way too much I said, and I bee lined it straight to La Boulangerie had had some Amazing pizza! ☆☆☆☆☆

Arthur T: Stopped by La Boulangerie with a friend for coffee and eats.We had a few of the pastries, but the ham and cheese croissant was the one I enjoyed the most. dreamynation: I came by this place due to the high amount of great reviews. The bakery I got in the photo attached did not disappoint. I was thinking about it all day after I had it. One of the best bakery no wonder why this place is so popular. I don't have much to say about their other items since I didn't try it, but I'd retuen to just try this one again!

James Leahy: Food is all 1st rate.Parking is a minefield of difficult to read signs. Got two parking tickets within 4 minutes with our two visits. It’s as if parking police are waiting in hiding for you to stop and pounce. We spent $180 on two tickets. We’ll never stop here again. Instead, we’ll drop someone off.Recommendation: don’t even stop in a red or yellow area to drop someone off or you’ll get pounced on by parking zealots who write tickets faster than you can roll your window down.

Michel Kattan: b. patisserie in San Francisco is an absolute delight! The enticing aroma of freshly baked pastries immediately captivates you.The selection of pastries, is nothing short of spectacular. We tried the famous kouign-amann, and it lived up to every bit of its reputation—crispy, caramelized layers on the outside with a soft, buttery center. The banana chocolate croissant was perfectly balanced, with a tangy filling and a delicate crust. Each bite was heavenly, with the perfect blend of flavors and textures. The staff at b. patisserie are friendly, efficient, and clearly passionate about their craft. They were more than happy to make recommendations and provide insights into their delicious offerings. The attention to detail and commitment to quality are evident in every aspect of the experience.Whether you're a local or just visiting San Francisco, b. patisserie is a must-visit destination. It's a little slice of pastry heaven that will leave you craving more. Can't wait to return and indulge in more of their exquisite creations!

Shantanu Telharkar: Almond Chocolate Banana Crossaint

Alison Pouw: amazing banana, chocolate, almond croissant. very unique. we went here on a saturday morning. of course there was a line but it moved really quick. we got the kouign amann and the banana chocolate croissant. everything was exquisite. so buttery and flakey. melts in your mouth. lots of seating too. this is a must go bakery in the city.

Yi-Chieh Chen: [Take out review] French bakery by the owner of Routier - loved the madeleine and macaron. They have a gluten-free almond cake as well.Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free

GG: I love their Kouign Amann, both chocolate and regular. They also have seasonal flavors, my husband likes the black sesame. The Ham and cheese is pretty good too. If I am not mistaken it has bechamel sauce on top. They can get busy depending on the time so I suggest doing a pre order.

Ogust Mac': Good pastry at “La Française”Bin Croissant and very good coffee.

Peter Farejowicz: Neighbor Bakehouse has long been a Dogpatch icon but I finally got to try it and can’t wait to go back already. The selection of yummy pastries here is rather large so whether you’re looking for sweet or savory they have you covered. The inside of the shop is small with all seating being outside in the patio area. They have a small coffee bar to the left and a couple racks of pastries sorted by sweet and savory. Things do tend to run out so go early for the best variety.I tried two things on my visit the banana bostock the pistachio blackberry croissant. While the croissant was good the banana one definitely was the winner. They have a lot of other specialty options which I didn’t try that I want to on my next visit like the strawberry matcha one.For parking, you can grab some nearby on the street so if you’re ever in Dogpatch drop by!

Esther Park: The ginger pull apart is heaven

Scott Lee: , to the friendliest staff, it’s always a pleasure to be there on weekends to get my baked good fix. Ham + cheese croissant and mushroom tart. My favorites!Pro-tip: Starting at 9am, you can order from their online platform so you can skip the long lines and pick up from the window. It’s saved me tons of time!

Susie Su: was average. They run out of things by end of day so I recommend going early!Recommended dishes Bakery …

uvin: Friendly staff, not like the other Mexican bakery on 24th Street, I bought 5 loaves and it was only 12.50 so it was a good price too, next time I will buy tamales they say they are good

Sam Holladay: Even in a cutthroat city like San Francisco, some places are still run with love--with the kind of welcoming kindness you'd expect to see in a small village, not a few steps from a BART station. The owner of La Mejor Bakery is generous and thoughtful, once allowing me to come back hours after buying a pastry to pay for it, since I ran out of cash. One block away is Arizmendi--overpriced, overrated, and perpetually staffed by douchebags. It's a perfect reflection of the New Mission. In La Mejor, the Old Mission lives on.

Bob Brown: 1 dollar for small cookies and 4 for a chicken tamale. I had a tamale with green sauce and it was a big tamale, but lacked on the ratio/amount of chicken inside. Friendly owner and took my trash after eating.

Alexander Martinez: This is a great little bakery. It's conveniently off of the BART 24st exit and is also super close to El Farolito which is a banger. The only downside to this location is that they only accept cash. So be ready, if not you can stop at the liquor store 2 doors down and they have an ATM.

Angela Yee: I come here once in a while, and every time I have, the ladies behind the counter are always so friendly and kind. What's more is that despite that there's no prices written, it seems to not be a worry, because I will order multiple pastries and it will be much cheaper than I expected, like 2 big conchas was $3 last time I went. I have ordered multiple cookies and a pastry or two and still was under $5 too. They only accept cash so that is something to be aware of.

Eugenia Casillas: The best bread in the bay area💯🙏🤤 the service is cordial and friendly! It definitely always makes my day! He traveled an hour just to buy the bread FROM THE BEST BAKERY💕🥖🍞

Edgard Montenegro: Nice employees and friendly atmosphere.

Hailey Jones: We loved everything we got here! The custard pastry was my fave but the strawberry jam roll was a close second.

C. S.: As the name says, this really is the best little bakery. One of the women working behind the counter reminded me of my late grandmother. She was very kind. I was asking what the pig-shaped bread was called and my friend was translating for me. I then jokingly said that I was a sweet pig too and it made her laugh. I asked for a second piece of bread and they told me it was called a worm and I said well hey I am worm coloured. She seemed to be delighted. I really hope she has a wonderful day.Thank you so much for the free banana bread piece! I don't usually like banana bread but this was so delicious! You really are a fantastic baker. I hope to come back soon before I go back to Canada. Thank you thank you thank you.Muchas Gracias!

Jesse Boyes: Legend.

nestor ramirez: A good place to have coffee and pastries and have a chat with friends.

Lisa Haggerty: Crowded and quiet on a long weekend Monday afternoon. Quick service, tasty coffee, beautiful latte art, and clean bathroom.

Nyanko: It’s nice place to take a break..I am crêpe otaku and I was so excited when I found out they have crêpe in their menu..!!I tried dessert crêpe with banana and strawberry and it was great 😃

Paulus L: and mini-baguettes. A few days ago, as they ran out of raisin swirls, we tried their blue berries muffins @ $2.75 ea. To my great surprise, these are the best muffins we've ever tasted in the city of S.F! Another addition to our favorites!

Redouane Elhattab: Nice service with a French flavor . Greatly enjoyed the ample space, French bakery and bread . Add to that, they serve the famous Italian coffee beans : Illy . I love the mille feuille cake and Moroccan mint tea .

Yan颜蔚: The bread is delicious

Rhonda Webb: Only stopped in for a drink; had a mocha that was delicious.

Damon Tighe: Had lunch at this cute corner bakery. Croissant sandwich was good. Coffee was also decent and the staff was friendly. They have about 10 seats inside, some tables but the rest are a counter facing the street.

Shivani Kaw: Yummy baked goods.

Forrest Hall: WOW - this is one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve had. The buttermilk biscuit was cooked perfectly, the bacon was thick and commanding how you want it, plenty of egg cooked perfectly. I got the garlic aioli - so good! They have a great outdoor seating area to soak up some sun too.Highly recommend, I will be back.

Winnie Xu: surprised to only just discover this place, their sweets look a bit intense for my lighter taste palette but the pastries are very well done! tried their biscuit, wasn’t too buttery and just the right size. can’t wait to try others!

Louis Jaffe: This large production bakery and kitchen supplying Jane’s handful of other cafes in SF has a takeout counter with abundant baked goods, including a subset of excellent gluten-free items. GF goodies can sell out by lunchtime however. In the cold case with grab-and-go salads, Asian chicken is a mainstay. There’s no particular atmosphere, but the esprit de corps of the diverse staff makes it fun to shop there. Parking can be a bit of a challenge and there can be a line to order at popular times, but that doesn’t deter the dedicated clientele.

Coline Deville: The baguette is absolutely delicious - as good as one made in France. The croissant and pain au chocolat were great as well. All these pastries are quite expensive, but this is the typical price of French pastries in the U.S. 100% recommend!

Duncan Alexander: The ham and cheese croissant was easily one of the best I have ever had. The ice coffee was fine, but the ham and cheese croissant blew my socks off.

sapir yank: Oh what a crazy place!! Totally mandatory.Maybe the price is not the cheapest but the variety and originality of the therapists is worth it.The staff was amazing, and today there were so many pastries it was hard to choose.

Tyven Gabriner: They have a lovely selection of various savory and sweet pastries including empanadas, quiches, tarlets, cookies, and more. I had the Banana Cream Tarlet and the Empanada Del Horno filled with beef, olive, and egg and it was delish! Super nice folks, fair prices, great vibes in a quiet neighborhood spot. Definitely coming back to try more of their goodies!

Ronald Migdal: The bread pudding, cinnamon rolls, and some of the tarts are exceptional.

Johanna Cunha: Love your menu

Colin Miller: Excellent empanadas and wonderful service

Steve J.: This place was giving off Lugeria vibes for me. The baked goods are the attraction while the store front is secondary-which is completely fine. The empanadas are excellent 👌.

Julia Cochran Roberts: Pastries were good. Coffee is meh. Bread loaves not available until 10am.

Theo Winston: Good coffee, great baked treats, and the best quiche I think I’ve ever had

G P: Possibly / likely the best chocolate croissant in the entire city. Show stopper

Atticus Ackerman: The woman who greeted us at the counter was very kind and charming, and we ordered a small drip coffee, a cup of water, and a cherry danish. The cherry danish was the best I have ever tasted, the water was great, and the coffee was amazing. Go here for great pastries and drinks.
