Matthew Danver: we liked the classic musicif you maneuver with the car, try to arrive a bit earlierspecial experience

M C: . With better sightlines, sound, and picture, I think it will be even better for watching films. It comes down to what kind of programming they will have in the future moving forward.

Knoxesdad: Historic venue with an amazing staff!

memoryalphamale: Excellent, intimate venue. Pro staff.

Vera L Arias: The night is young, this theatre is magic ✨

jason doyle: classic, vintage, now, a great place to see a show! This is a great venue and I heard they might be bringing musical acts here. Movies are great too

Ben Raia: Beautiful and historic theater, there are a lot of memorable experiences to be had here. A San Francisco icon!

Jerome Espinosa Baladad: It's very conveniently located from where we started to get to this theater. It was packed that night. Nice, well maintained events place. I will not hesitate to come back again when given the chance.

Janine Perky: at The Castro Theatre! Fun family entertainment!

Camila Osorio: Cool peephole movies in an allley. True SF

Zach: Bit over hyped.

Jesse Lasley: Great spot!

Andrew Middleton: It's a peephole!

D H: Visited this late at night when I heard about it from a visiting artist from Mexico. Funny how someone visiting told us about something new in our own neighborhood of ten years! Really fun experience being in the alley and finding this mini silent cinema. I’m not really sure who the haters are that reviewed this poorly. Art like this is generous.

A B: Stopped by after reading about this on Atlas Obscura. Worth a walk-by for the novelty.

john “Optionworld 2000” smith: Good, but long lines, more waiting for to get in/out, and beautiful in people/area/feeling. Mostly, very respectful, nice and kindness people with more free times. Good place, for good soul, spirit and mind without any worrying, sadness and concerns.

Jorge Gonzalez: GOOD

Einstein Jr: The revamped theater is just great. Comfy cozy seats with plenty of room to stretch your legs and they will be opening a wine bar soon. Great place to see original off beat movies. My favorite theater.

Krishin Asnani: Because very few people show up here , Its cinema halls don’t have communal experience which is one of the reasons of watching a film in a theater ;But the cinema halls are clean with the most comfortable leather seats in any theater. The prints are pristine ; the acoustics are superb.Matinee prices are reasonable - they include the symphonic snoring of the elderly in the theater .I doubt this cinema will be around for a long time.

Tina Stromsted: I love this theater! The film selections are wonderful - a mix of independent, artistic, and mainstream - and it's easy to purchase reserved seats ahead online, reasonably priced with discounts for students and seniors. The theaters are small and clean with great sight lines and sound quality, comfy seats, yummy popcorn, friendly staff and a lovely vibe - a fabulous way to see great films on the big screen. And it's next door to Max's Opera Café for lunch or dinner beforehand, or drinks and discussing the film afterwards! I hope more people begin to leave home again to watch great movies in more of a community setting, and that we can keep this treasure of a theater open - a gem in San Francisco!

eva fortune: Great movies . Nice theatre . Great staff

Emmanuel Loggins Jr: Nice

Claire Tremblay: Completely renewed! Pleasant surprise for a quiet moment in a frantic week!

Jennefer Martinez: Comfy leather seats. Popcorn was good. Clean theatre. It’s reserved seating. Small theater and cozy.

Ella Askren: I love this little theatre. They play amazing movies for great prices, with some non-new releases being only $5/person if you log in with the free account. It’s an unbeatable deal around here, and these kinds of theatres are becoming more rare these days. I saw a screening of Maestro here, and they gave out a pack of several big, beautiful prints from the movie to everyone for free on the way in. It was a full house, seats were comfy, it looked and sounded great for such a small place, and the popcorn was good. The theaters aren’t very big, so even the very front row seats were well worth it, which is all that was left that night. I hope this place sticks around 3

Adrian Gaino: Secret spot

Sheila Xie: Awesome small movie theaters with great movie selections. Highly recommend.

Sir. Christian T Hadsell (Fusses): They have the best movie setup. They do have a selection as well.

Karl TBNR FRAGS: me and my friends had fun we watched the Garfield movie and we took photos also the snacks are good and I sat at g13 in room 17 and after that we took a silly pictures also I only did rating because of Ryan trayhanAlso the arcade was good

Maelmew Mew: Best movie it was garfield and the snacks were really good and the seats were really good and not food in the ground.

Osvaldo Martinez: Excellent

Jacob Fraser: Great place to watch movies! Tickets are pretty cheap considering Bay Area pricing. The best part for me was the "recliner chairs". The food and drink is a little pricy for me but it's good! There's also a Bar inside where you can buy beer, wine and hard seltzers. Overall, it was a good experience. I would recommend this place if you're planning a movie date with family or friends.

Sarai Ponce: Excellent 👌

Krishin Asnani: It’s a theater where I happen to see the year’s best films ; Turkish film “About Dry Grasses “ at Little Roxie which is very decent sized screen; fun rings are pristine. Love the flowery artwork on the wall in its water closet. Also saw La Chimera here. Get the membership as it reduces movie tickets to ten dollars only. Also saw “ Joyland “ and “The Worst Person of the Year” here.It does need a facelift : the repertory portion isn’t as strong - past directors are mostly forgotten unless their death causes a splash - Goddard.

Abed Amas: A diamond in the rough. A San Francisco iconic location

David Chimes: Classic Indie theater in a wonderfully vibrant location.

Don Hall: This is not one's chain movie theater. It's funky and very down to earth with older equipment and older seats, but it really works. Great place to watch a movie with a marvelous ambiance and a very appreciative audience.

Chris Young: Perfect Days. Popcorn could use some help

Lane Jameson: An independent theater gem in a sea of lifeless theater chains. The Roxie is the real deal if you're a film fan. Great movie selection, good popcorn and concession choices, chill and friendly staff. What's not to love?

Benyam Ephrem: good vibes

Dean Sofer: Somehow always culturally relevant

Gord McCaw: Took in a movie in the Little Roxie, would have preferred to be in the Big Roxie but it wasn't doable that evening. Great place to see arthouse movies and documentaries you would be hard pressed to find elsewhere...

Jim Coursey: One of the last bastions of SF's once deep film culture, and now more than ever the best movie theater in town to see something completely unexpected.

Asher McInerney: New people is an awesome collaborative of stores enriching the entire ambiance of Japantown. Ultra modern flair and design gives the structure and complex a true neo Japanese feeling. Make sure to check out all the elevens and stay updated on their list of events.

Martin Sigvardsen: A 5 star experience. So many wonderful specialty shops. High quality, an absolute must visit in San Francisco.

Lluis Higini Melero Peris: Modified.. During our stay in San Francisco, we were able to visit, among other things, the different attractions of the city, we could not miss the shopping centers, in this case Westfield, located in the heart of the city, therefore we had to enter the same than the other C.C., to shop around. What impresses most is its enormous dome and the stairs that run through the many floors of this center. Most of the shops are located there and to complete the visit, on the ground floor there are several buffet restaurants. Of course, a temptation in which you can spend a whole day without leaving it, truly crazy.

michael crepinsek: Movies and a mall Central downtown

Robert Black: No place to purchase luggage.

Yana Oganesova: Beautiful mall and building but a little run down, eerily empty and lost shops over the years

R. S.: Large and modern shopping center. Especially interesting because of the rare reversing escalators.

Sharon Takamoto Hasegawa: Sad to say that there appears to be about a 70 % vacancy rate here. Stores that are left seem to be fairly well stocked. It's clean and seems to be safe. Photos are of the dome that used to grace The Emporium department store. It is still beautiful.

Guylaine Lamontagne: Nice place

ALIWOOD: This is a really cool theater with plush sofa seats. The staff are genuinely nice as well.

David James: Dated old school theater. If that’s your thing this place is great. Old school popcorn popper. Candy and drinks like usual. Not a crowded place or city. What else can I say? Staff was cool. No issues.

Illy Duarte: It's a nice cozy theater with good sound. It's usually not too crowded so it's the best place to go watch movies as if you were at home.

Teresa McGlashan: This is a cozy, sweet theatre. I enjoy going here. The people are nice too.

Guinevere Lucius: Wonderful local theater. I just attended the Hi De Ho show at the Mill Valley Film Festival. I have loved this theater since I was a child.

Haarlem Rokicki: Nice movie theater 🎦

Dunwoody Bells: Nice functional movie theater in Mill Valley. Only two movie choices with limited show times but it is fully functional with concession stand. Seats were comfortable and sound and quality of audio were good. If I was in area again would go back.

Marvin Galdamez: Screen and seats are amazing. Sound was underwhelming. Seriously, can they improve the sound ?

Barry Heisler: How can you ever go back to the old movie house after this experience? You can't...

Josephine Elmer: Great seats big n comfortable. Movie we saw was the new release of plant of the apes. Theater sounds was spot on! I always liked this Theater.

Usha Dawn: I was here to watch Fahad Fasil's movie Aavesham. I figured that it's been a long time since I visited this theatre. There's a lot of development outside of this theatre, new restaurants etc. The theatre is neat and clean. I decided to visit here more often.

Nadia Wit: I made my reservation a month ahead of time for my darling's Birthday. He is a picky chef who loves good food and I love movies-- We arrived and the host was very kind and accomodating. He had a bday card ready to go!!! The waitress was lovely and when I ordered the Ahi she made sure to let me know that there is a beef jus on it and that it was optional! Thank goodness as I wouldn't have known this and I do not eat beef. It was delightful. The oysters and lavender cheese dish were also fresh and delicious. We all enjoyed everything we ordered. I am really happy I chose this place for a bday and look forward to coming back for the next occasion.

Marc Hebert: Attended a special private event...wonderful atmosphere, tasty appetizers, great serviceParking: Big parking garage a block away

Mark E: The ambiance of the space was delightful, characterized by high ceilings and generously sized tables that provided ample comfort and space to savor our meal. Offering both indoor and outdoor dining options, the outdoor area featured a portion shielded by plastic, ensuring protection from the elements. Additionally, a second-floor dining room overlooking the main indoor area seemed reserved for private functions. The cuisine impressed with its excellence and visually appealing presentation. Service was both friendly and attentive, and portion sizes were fitting for a fine dining experience. An added charm was the outdoor movie screenings against the establishment's wall, which lent its name. Highly recommended.

Christopher Greenwald: best theatre in the north bay by a mile.

Brian Woodson: I have always loved this theater. It is a real shame that it is closing as of this Sunday, 11/25. I liked the staff that worked here, the variety of films and special events that it showed and the smaller crowds that came here. I will miss coming here.

J S (Sotapop): No one there, theater to ourselves and reduced price on Tuesday

Patty Wimpfheimer: We had a wonderful time at the theater. There were only about 6 people in the theater so we could choose anywhere to sit. What was most surprising is that the pizza here is really amazing! We were quite hungry and not expecting much from theater pizza, but we were honestly shocked at how yummy the pizza was! The seats are also comfortable and positioned well so that there is a good view of the screen from every seat. A nice place to enjoy a movie!

Rob Perica: The staff are friendly and the popcorn was fresh. The movie Oppenheimer was way too long but this cinema was great

Josh Kimbrough: Seats are comfortable, place is clean.

Teri Peterson: Wonderful new seating with recliners and convenient ticket purchasing. Lots of free parking.

Xavier Bahena: Quiet theater, small, and not all busy. Somehow they manage to always have fresh popcorn. They care.

Jaime Solis: Nothing to complain about here. Screens, seats, food, and customer service are all good. They accommodated my group when Northgate's power went out. It's an average quality theater with good service.

Vanesa Kaselionis: Large chairs in theater. As with many places best to get tickets ahead as low staffing does create some lines for tickets and food. Staff helpful and friendly and kept clean.

Kelly: The theater was clean and I liked how it is convenient to order food and purchase tickets ahead of time so once we were in the lobby we picked up our food and walked into the theater.
