klarese donnelly: pool table, a photo booth, and a partnership with Front Porch across the street for food

Andy Volk: Great relaxed neighborhood bar, wonderful vibe, and they serve a damn good Sazerac. And they have a vintage Galaga machine that only charges a quarter per game. ❤️Highly recommended.

J R: This is the best bar in SF. A miner theme! Hot food from Front Porch, great location, a photo booth, pool, black and white movies, and a bar tender who plays OSees. What more could a person ask for?Recommended dishes Fried Pickled and Fried Okra, Deviled Eggs w Bourbon Bacon Jam, Hushpuppies …

John McClain: Friendly service in a low-key joint, what's not to love?

colin miller: Friendly bar with pool and DJs

Jon Reitsma: Prescilla is the best bartender

Monica Rangel: Good place to have a drink after the game!Recommended dishes Something with Vodka …

Cynthia Colas: I love the decorations at this bar so I would describe this venue as a 10/10. The venue is super decked out in a tech/alchemist type of vibe. Almost like the type of thing you would come across watching Full Metal Alchemist. The drinks are also amazing and the appetizers are great as well.

Brittany Romick: Cute little cocktail bar. Service was a little bit slow for the bigger groups, but overall good 1st experience.

Joshua Foltz: Very cool spot, steam punk theme and great, unique, cocktails🍸 🍸

Isabelle Anderson: Just go.Updated review: Trick Dog is my Roman Empire… I think about my experience here every. single. day. Between the perfectly balanced cocktails, the inviting atmosphere and the incredible service from Tone and Billy Bones I really have a hard time finding anything else that compares.

Alison Enthoven: options for food, but it's good quality. Even the salad is quite good.

Katarina Stein: Cool little bar next to the Penny Roma. Tasty tropical drinks. I tried the Rising Sun and thought the strawberry taste was unique. My friend ordered the POG drink but that really didn’t have much taste at all in my opinion, but it was very pretty with the flower.

Bro Mo: . she looked it up and it came out in these large, heavy ceramic tiki cups... INSANE good, like she had always known how to make one. Anyway, earns a special place in my heart after that.

Jack Tuggle: I liked the environment. Cute bar. Was accommodating for our group. Drinks were good while I would have loved something more alcohol forward so I ordered an old fashion. Tho I liked the drink menu.I also liked the food it looked good and tasted good. The fries were on point. The hot dog was overpriced but still tasted good

Alice Hou: I tried the Kimchi Martini, and it's a unique delight! The blend of gin, soju, sweet vermouth, kimchi brine, and lime juice offers a surprising and delightful flavor profile. The kimchi garnish adds a tangy kick, elevating the experience.

KEVIN THOMPSON: Cool bar

Claudia Sanchez: If you get a little earlier than 10pm you get a nice table, they have good music and at some point they play at little bit of reggaeton which is refreshing. My only suggestion would be to check people before entering the place.

Katie McCulloch: and lead bartender

klarese donnelly: Great spot. The bartenders and regulars are always nice, it's never terribly packed without being totally empty, they bring in vendors to do free tastings of liquors, allow dogs and outside food, and it's got a cool almost saloon-like vibe to it. They have a decent selection of beers and of cocktails. I'd specifically recommend their old fashioned because they do them well.

Nicholas Pun: and it was interesting. The information was a bit all over the place, but what a great opportunity to taste test different whiskeys against each other. The bartender was also super knowledgeable and readily answered our questions.Would recommend if you want to get into whiskey, I had a great time!

Nikhil Kundra: But our friend Mark who lived in the area took us to this gem in his neighborhood, and it was there I got a chance to see just how incredible the whiskey selection was at this place. After doing a few rounds, the OWNER of the bar came around to check in on us... but he didn't just ask how we were doing as a courtesy; he actually cared about where we were visiting from, what we had done, and if we had been to XYZ place + offered recs and even help making reservations by calling different bar/restaurant owners to help make our already-incredible trip even better. He spent a good 10-15 min with us, educated us on different spirits and mixers we were curious about behind the bar—and then before we left, bought us a round to drink and enjoy one of those spirits we had inquired about with him.True hospitality. From the owner to the manager to the bartenders and other staff.Year later, a different friend of mine and I were visiting—so I recommended we check out Elixir. Upon entering, my friend asked if I had ever tried Pappy since he noticed Elixir had the full lineup. Neither my friend and I had, so we marveled at the idea and then pulled the trigger. 🥃 🥃To my surprise—and I know Pappy is rare, let alone expensive—but when the flight came, the owner and staff recognized me from many years prior, asked how I was, recalled I was last there for that conference, how the rest of it was, and even offered us some incredible stories and education about the history of Pappy as we sipped each year.My friend and I stayed a lot longer than we had anticipated and the owner and manager even offered us a personalized tasting of rare Wild Turkey bourbons they had in stock if we wanted to come back before we flew home and see how we liked them, especially to compare to the Pappy flight.Safe to say, we came back and had a wonderful time exploring

Josh Gelfand: Just the perfect bar. Want as fine a craft cocktail that the city can provide? It's here. Want to see one of the best whiskey selections anywhere in the country? It's here. Want a chill but lively neighborhood bar where you can get a fairly priced shot and beer? It's here.Go to Elixir.

Tee Ponsukcharoen: Beautiful bar with high ceiling. The redwood walls and pillars really give a feeling like sitting in a towering woods. We came on Thusrday night and we were welcomed by the live Jazz quartet! The drinks are great. We particularly like Taramind Magarita. Unfortunately, we missed the chance to try croissant bread pudding that my friend hyped me about. The kitchen closed at 10 PM so come before that time. I will come back to try and update the review.

John Anton: Extremely well executed cocktails and food. Beautiful setting.

Stephanie Costa: I probably should have written this review a decade ago. Zeitgeist is a San Francisco institution that has evolved with the times. The food, drinks, ambiance, and service are all fantastic. It’s a casual, edgy beer hall that is unparalleled on a sunny day but wonderful always. Zeitgeist has been my favorite bar in San Francisco since I turned 21. I had my 24th birthday party here a decade ago, and I recently hosted my wedding welcome party here. Coordinating with Nicole, in particular, for my wedding welcome party was an absolute joy!

Jacqueline Tona: 36 years of enjoying Zeitgeist.Their burgers and fake burgers and fries are great. Big beer selection and strong drinks. Of course the bier garden is the draw.Vegetarian options: Faux burgers, grilled queso, etc

mrk p.: Good music, good drinks. Tip your bartender. Update 2024: pandemic changed everything for better and worse. I miss the zeitgeist of yore, but the food is much better!

klarese donnelly: Zeitgeist is a great spot. Kind of a punk patio beer bar with excellent food. It's great to go to on a nice day, especially after a visit to Dolores Park. Sometimes when it's really crowded it can mess up food orders and leave you waiting for a long time. However, it's almost always worth it. I especially love their burger but most of their offerings are great. Their beer selection is both good and varied, and the bartenders are cool even if not always the friendliest. I've never had a bad time here. If I lived closer I'd be here all the time.

Tee Ponsukcharoen: Good hangout place especially for people who loves pool. I am not sure how crowded this place can be but we got a table and play several games when we arrived around 4 pm on Saturday. It is only 2 dollars a game and you can purchase food and drink easily. You can even go to play a pool without food, but you will feel like you want to support the business. And the food is legit! I got a burger and it is delicious. I wish the patty is bigger even if a higher price. Still it is a solid burger with bacon and cheese. Tater tots is also great, crispy from the outside, piping hot and soft inside. Definitely a good place to hang out with a pub vibe.

Max Stanton: inside the bar.Fantastic schnitzel sandwich. Really perfect.Vegetarian options: There are some veggie options.Kid-friendliness: It's a bar.

James Deperalta: Super cool bartenders. Even cooler patrons. Came here solo for a boilermaker and also an old colleague was womaning the food bar serving up mean Bette's chicken parm sandwiches so I had to show support for those delicious Italian American sandwiches on shokupan. The vibe is classic San Francisco punk. All walks of life come through here so don't be hater, drink, be merry and tip the bartenders.

klarese donnelly: Great spot with a bit of a punk rock vibe.Excellent pool tables mostly for sharks. They have cool shows, and play good music even when they dont. It can get a bit crowded just like any spot in the city but it's never too overwhelming. The staff are always friendly and cool. They pay attention to taking turns ordering but are also quick enough you often don't have to wait too long. Beer selection is a decent range, not sure I've tried much of anything else in my visits but have heard they have a good burger. It's one of the highlights of first moving to SF and remains a favorite even though I don't always make my way over there.

Neesh Shah: Last stop during our night out and it was the perfect end-point. Super chill vibes, dimly lit but also packed in a good way. The bartender was hilarious and totally went along with us asking for a single shot that is good, but also strong but also different but also 10 other things. All in all, we'll be back!

Faraz: Quiet still lively place. Great drinks.

Mackie Bella: Excellent service and great drinks

Jane Zimmerman: I love hidden-away neighborhood gems like this. Plus, no TV makes for a great vibe.

Shelayne Mathieu: great vibe and music

Teresa: A classic. Solid drinks and bites.

Nero&Seneca Maidenlane: 15 Romolo cocktail bar was the perfect place for Nero and Seneca to unwind after a long day of adventures. The pimm’s cocktail was a refreshing treat and Gabriel, the bartender, was fantastic. He not only mixed amazing drinks but also made us feel welcome and at ease. The bar is known for its cool drinks and cool vibes, and it lived up to its reputation for great cocktails.Nero and Seneca were the stars of our visit, but it's important to note that they didn't consume any alcohol or food that wasn't doggy approved.Disclaimer: No dogs were harmed or given any alcohol or non-dog-friendly food during our visit.Overall, 15 Romolo is highly recommended for anyone looking for amazing drinks, great conversation, and a relaxed atmosphere. Gabriel, the bartender, was truly exceptional and made our visit unforgettable. Don't miss the opportunity to experience this gem for yourself!

Raghav Srivastava: Decent bar, good for a larger group. Can be loud and crowded but less grungy than other north beach watering holes

Edward “Eddie” Harper: Thier cocktail selection is great. They have a buttered whiskey that is absolutely fantastic. It's probably for the winter but I am definitely doing this next year for the holidays. The ambiance is dimly lit and nice. This is absolutely one of the best bars in the city. Getting here may feel strange but in the end it is most definitely worth it.

Melissa Santarcangelo: Amazing place to go dancing for hip hop and pop music, they play the music videos on the wall and I felt like I was transported in time! The staff is incredibly friendly. They serve good drinks in nice glasses, there's a lot of people around cleaning up glasses as well. So bouncers were also incredibly nice.

K Fire: Editing this review for posterity. $20 for a drink at a dive bar in the mission is a bit much, which is why I only went once in 2021 and never again. This bar doesn't really have anything to offer besides its primo location on Capp which is an easy place to score a lady for the night. Even then, she wanted 300 and the ones near downtown only asked 200. There's nothing else going on though: no dancing, no live music, no craft cocktails per se, etc. From what I'm gathering, there was a chess club and free pool Mondays. I'm not hating on dive bars, but there was so many better choices in the mission. This city has the highest bar to households ratio at 6 to 10k, so you havta do something to stand out and I never really saw them promoted anywhere. Just a little quiet hole in the wall.

Tracy: One of my favorite dive bars in San Francisco! Lots of memories!

Anonymous Ghost: Uptown has a special place in my heart! Toward the tail end of a bar crawl, this bar is the place to ground yourself and have beautifully drunken conversations with good company. The service is top notch. You won’t feel overlooked or over exerted while you pause and regain your senses to request a drink. It is truly a shame that they will be closing come January 1st. Do yourself a favor and visit Uptown before then.

Selby Glynn: Very kind bartenders and a fun hang place to hangout. They have a pool table and a jukebox. Queer friendly and cash only!Wheelchair accessibility: All one level with flat access from sidewalk.

delaney ross: Dope little punky dive bar

Tim Clancy: Low key

Alaina Zulli: I love this place. It's a perfect specimen of chill queer dive. It's not a Gay Bar; it's a queer bar, and as a queer cis woman I feel totally comfortable, I'm not intruding on a space that isn't made for me.The beer selection has a nice mix of mostly indue ferries breweries with a few old standbyes for those who like their Guinness and Rolling Rock. The vibe is very much "chill dive". There's a pool table in an open adjoining room. The vinyl booth seating is heavily patched. The bartenders are friendly.I live in the Castro and have my pick of queer bars, but this is by far my favorite.

Bradner Bond: Small, tidy, good cocktails, great bourbon selection. Quiet for a weeknight, which I appreciate. Weller and Booker's deep-stocked. Nice joint

Dr. Carla Ramos: Nice bar with good cocktail options as well as beers. Reasonable prices for their drinks as well.

chynmk: Everything is excellent here. Food quality is top tier.

Adam Wright: Pretty cool bar! Really nice bouncer and bar tenders. Good drinks. The "save a bear, ride a horse" drink was awesome
