Sandra Lomeli: Cute little spot. Staff were very sweet and welcoming. Service was very fast. Food came out rather quickly. We ordered wonton soup, orange chicken and egg fried rice. The orange chicken had orange peel on the plate and had a soft crunch. The glaze was perfect. Not thick, chewy or overpowering like some places. Rice was 馃憣. Wonton soup was tasty. Perfectly flavored. Everything tasted freshly made and not generic, old or warmed up. Authentic place. You will not be disappointed.

Andrea Nevermind: So glad the three of us chose this place for lunch! Food was excellent!! We sat outside. The owner asked if we had been there before. When we said no, he smiled, took our menus, and ordered for us: pork bao buns, steamed dumplings, crispy shrimp packets, BBQ ribs & zucchini spears. Shrimp, beef and Broccoli in a Dijon honey mustard sauce and table made sizzling shrimp and chicken fried rice. I would visit again!

Linda H.: Stopped by for a quick bite as part of our drive North to Healdsburg. There was a line at the door but it went quickly. I actually had to decide what I wanted to order on the fly because I got to the front of the line too quickly. We ordered shrimp dumplings, shrimp and chive dumplings, sui mai, turnip cake, and dried shrimp rice noodles. I would get the dumplings and sui mah again. I was mixed in the turnip cake. The dried shrimp rice noodles were ok....the spread of onion and dried shrimp was a little uneven, so there were bites that were just rice noodle. It was also a bit too dense for me. Very reasonable pricing though. We got a box full of food for $19.90. Cash only. There are a few tables inside where you can sit down to eat after ordering your food at the counter. There's also a bathroom available.

Shen K: Please note: The address is correct, however, the directions from Google Maps will take you to the old location on Commercial St. Hopefully they will fix this soon. The restaurant is across Walter Lum PL from Portsmouth Square. So if you find the square, you are almost there. Don't go to Commercial St, it will say the restaurant is permanently closed.The food is good, but not the best. This is San Francisco after all, a city where there are more dimsum places than most other cuisines. It's not bad, but I've had better elsewhere. But it's a great place for families & large groups. The food comes very quickly so you don't have to wait long.The atmosphere is a little loud, but what Chinese restaurant isn't? This is a great place if you are from out of town & want to experience a good dimsum place in the oldest Chinatown in the US.

Vince Cimo: The food was amazing, the staff is extremely kind, and the atmosphere was great. This restaurant is 3 generations deep and it really shows. Their flavors are perfectly balanced. I'm extremely critical of food and would strongly strongly recommend this place.Vegetarian options: Just go here. You will find lots of good options.
Rowan Jones: Henry鈥檚 Hunan is a SF institution that used to have locations across the city. COME GET DIANA鈥檚 SPECIAL!!! An invention of the founder and named after his wife. It is my favorite dish in the world and Henry鈥檚 is the only place you can get it. Everything is fabulous, from their homemade dumplings, to string beans w meat sauce, to chicken salad, to other entrees like Henry鈥檚 shredded pork. You can choose your spice levels, from mild to kick your butt spicy. I cannot recommend this piece of SF history enough.

Salvadorian: I was really hungry and didn鈥檛 eat all day. Early on the evening I wanted to have a satisfying dish as my first meal of the day to keep me going. On my way home the first place that I could find parking nearby was Henry鈥檚 Hunan, I parked and went in hoping to get a satisfying meal. The servers working this had a great attitude and took my order promptly, I was curious to know what the table next to mine was having, it looked like a dish prepared with green beans and scrambled eggs, I asked the server that I wanted to ordered the green beans dish, I was informed that the dish I was asking about was a dish made with jalape帽o and scrambled eggs and is not in the menu but if I was interested they will gladly prepare it for me, I went ahead and ordered the jalape帽o dish, a delicious variety of peppers, scallions with sliced onions expertly stirred fried, surprisingly enough not a very hot dish. I had to ordered another plate, I went for the smoked ham chow mein, noodles with sliced pieces of the smoked ham with very little vegetables. In the beginning i really wanted to take half of the order home with me but the food was giving me an emotional sense of comfort and I I felt that the righteous thing to do was to finish both dishes.Vegetarian options: Numerous vegetarian options and plates can be accommodated to be prepared without meat.
John W: This Henry's Hunan location is one of the best. It's not big at all, but it's in the neighborhood and easy to get to, and there is usually a place to sit or the wait isn't too long. The food is absolutely awesome, and everyone who works there is super nice and accommodating. Love this place. Parking, being in a neighborhood, is definitely hit or miss, so go a little bit early and expect to go around the block a couple of times. Well worth it.

Patrick Tuite: The food is exceptional. I鈥檝e tried nyc chinese, florida, washington DC etc and this place was really good. The sesame chicken and pork dumplings stood out the most. We also tried the cucumber salad and that was something different but really good. I would definitely recommend giving this a shot for lunch or dinner. If I ever visit again this place will definitely get a 2nd visit from me.
