First, he’s a big dog person so you know he’s good people 😁, second, he explained the whole process, including how the insurance companies use the appraisal if you, god forbid, get something stolen and need it replaced. The hour I spent with him was educational and fun and he provides a hard copy of the appraisal as well as a digital copy to send to the insurance.

Katherine Taylor: Patrick isn't afraid to give you bad news, which is exactly what you want in the guy you hired to evaluate your $$$ luxury purchase. And he doesn't do feel-good overvaluations, which is going to save you money on your insurance. You know those jewelry store commercials that tell you your purchase will appraise for double? Well, they're not staying in business by giving things away at half price, so it's actually worth about what you paid. If you insure it for more, the insurance company makes extra on your premium and you don't recover that money whenthey replace the item at market value.I found Patrick on Pricescope because I wanted a real valuation of our heirloom stone. He walked us through the various tests he was doing, showed us how he was coming to each of the determinations, and did a lot of diamond education along the way. Although the specs were a bit lower than I'd hoped, since I had walked through the process with him I understood why and felt that the result was very fair.If we're ever in the market for another diamond, we will definitely be running the stone by Patrick before we purchase it. It's already an inherently useless item, so I definitely want to make sure we're getting what we're paying for!

Rp: The owners and the other employees were very helpful and hospitable. I was having a bad rash on the back of my neck from my 14-karat gold necklace. One of the workers there said that it was the oxidation that was built up on the necklace. They set it off for a special cleaning, and sure enough! I could wear the necklace again! No rash! The necklace looks beautiful!!
