Katie Squire: Step into the past and learn more about the Valley of Heart's Delight that predates Silicon Valley. Homes, businesses, infrastructure like the firehouse, schoolhouse, and houses of worship all give the opportunity to appreciate the past. Cultural museums of many of the ethnic groups that helped to shape the community as well as historic artifacts are displayed throughout the park. If you come on a warm day make sure to stop by and visit O'Brien's Candy Store, the first place to serve ice cream west of Detroit. The park abounds with mature trees providing cooling shade, picnic areas, and giving you the ambiance of San Jose of the past. If it is running, take a ride on the trolley a precursor of today's light rail system. A wonderful place to visit for people of all ages.

꧁༺Richard_Z༻꧂: Almost everything is free during non holidays from free trolley rides to a large trolley barn. The postcards are only 50¢ per card when other shops charge $1. The trolley’s“motorman” has taught me a lot about the history of the trolley. Best park ever!Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …

Seo Yatsushiro: I saw MG Luong‘s patrol cap and the shoulder straps in the museum. He was one of the best generals, and I was honored to serve under his command.

Tam Pham: Amazing place to have the history about the boat people of Vietnam. My heart was dropped and my eyes were filled with tears when i saw the real boat, which thousands of people had used to escape Vietnam to find the freedom land. The sad news is half or two third of them couldn't make it, my condolences for those and their family

無名: I dropped by and they let me walk around the place but not inside. Older people, friendly but not really any English. They laughed at my few Vietnamese words. I wish I could sit with them and talk story
Khyber Catcott: nice museum
Mei: A small museum that has displays of a lot of props from Vietnam war. Unfortunately most of the descriptions are in Vietnamese only and not translated. The museum also has a small souvenir shop.
Michael Burkhart: Eclectic & colorful account of the Vietnamese peoples who emigrated to California

gary miskimon: Small but well curated to help visitors learn a bit of local history.
Iryna Berezan: I visited the museum with my 6-year old daughter and it was such a fun and delightful time for her! It is a small museum, but it has surprisingly many things to do and learn for the little ones about the old times and how the things was back then. The best part is that you can touch almost everything! My daughter played the post office, the local store and little farmer's marker, "cooked" following the recipes and even tried to wash clothes in the old time manual washing machine! The museum keeper was very helpful and friendly, and ensured us to discover all the kids activities. The great little museum; we'll definitely stop by again during our local walks.
Gary Webb: Fun clean spot
Rachel Turkal: A great local museum that packs a lot of local history into a small space. Well air-conditioned on a warm summer afternoon. Interactive exhibits that are sure to peak the interests of young and old alike.

Supriya Reddy: . The inside of the dome is very beautiful. They have phaeton, wagon, the park drag , the saddles from different years are on display. The Morse code machines and old telephones were interesting. The interactive rail driving was a good experience for kids. The interactive surfing was fun for kids. The immigrants gallery was informative about what immigrants brought into the USA and how they traveled to the USA. The courtroom was exciting for us

JP G: We were tipped off about this. This museum by going to another museum nearby. And wow, this is a great place to spend a drizzly afternoon. Studying local history really opens your eyes and gives you a better appreciation for where you live. Gorgeous architecture and there were several different exhibits so you could always choose one and that is of your interest and stick with it and spend the good amount of time with it. We spent some time in each of them and and could have spent even more time but we had to get going. Lots of restaurants and things to do nearby to and there's a nice plaza outside as well.
Yetunde O.: My first time at the San Mateo County History Museum. It depicts the history of the Peninsula from the original Native American inhabitants to today. It helps place local history in context by showing how the story here has influenced the outside world, and how the outside world has influenced it. The cost is $6 but worth it.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …
