Eddy G: Quilts and textile art aren’t usually my thing, but this gallery was pretty nice. Actually stood out as one of the better ones on this street for the First Friday Art Walk.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Not sure …

Laurel Clayson: The highlight of my trip to the Bay Area! It is on the smaller side, but incredibly well curated. I spent over an hour here. Your mileage may vary depending on your level of enthusiasm for textiles. I especially loved "You May Recognize Yourself," a show of mostly monochrome sewn portraits of women seen from the back, made of household textiles of the type that may have historically been found in a dowry, like tablecloths and bed linen. I did indeed recognize myself.Recommend for everyone who enjoys art, textiles, sewing, or crafts.

Charlene Teets: Cute little Museum, if you sew in any capacity you will appreciate their pieces. They had some really cool pieces especially in the back rooms. They also had a small shop to get some interesting gifts. We found some easy parking on the street but I can imagine that it is difficult at peak times. The front desk person was very kind and approachable.

Harry Jung: This place is worth dropping by.

Seo Yatsushiro: I saw MG Luong‘s patrol cap and the shoulder straps in the museum. He was one of the best generals, and I was honored to serve under his command.

Jerry Nguyen: Awesome to see this and what our people went through and the prices paid in pursuit of freedom. Brought tears to my eyes.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No Price for adult entry Free …

Aaron Menjivar: Was a fun experience among the other little places to visit in the park, learned a lot of things that I didn't know about those that arrived here during and after the Vietnam war. Tam Pham: Amazing place to have the history about the boat people of Vietnam. My heart was dropped and my eyes were filled with tears when i saw the real boat, which thousands of people had used to escape Vietnam to find the freedom land. The sad news is half or two third of them couldn't make it, my condolences for those and their family

Zaida Bavaro: It is OK. Didnt stay for long. II am sure others will find it better than I did.

無名: I dropped by and they let me walk around the place but not inside. Older people, friendly but not really any English. They laughed at my few Vietnamese words. I wish I could sit with them and talk story

Khyber Catcott: nice museum

Mei: A small museum that has displays of a lot of props from Vietnam war. Unfortunately most of the descriptions are in Vietnamese only and not translated. The museum also has a small souvenir shop.

Michael Burkhart: Eclectic & colorful account of the Vietnamese peoples who emigrated to California

Bruce S.: Wow, the Japanese American Museum is amazing. Though it's not huge, there's a lot to see. There's information and photos from J-town in the past. The 442nd regimental combat team with their motto "Go For Broke". They were the most decorated combat team in WWll. They rescued "The Lost Battalion" from Texas. There's a lot of information and photos from the internment of Japanese Americans, including a replica of an internment barrack. There was also a Kimono exhibit when I went, but I think that the exhibit is over now. There's also a section on Redress with information and photos. It was very touching to tour the museum and I'd recommend that you visit the museum!!

Regina B (RejB): Great history and fun experience for kid to wear kimono and make paper dolls. Worth checking outVisited on Weekend Wait time Up to 10 min Reservation recommended No …

Rosalinda Rodriguez: Great historical museum! It's a moderate size facility with a vast amount of information and authentic displays of American Japanese history. There's a lot to see here so plan accordingly. Docent tours are also available. Beautifully and honorably done!Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Not sure …

K M: We spent about an hour here looking at the amazing history shared by the museum. We learned more about how Americans has to over come the bias of fellow Americans because they are Asian. The museum did a great job of showcasing the lifes of so many great people.I wish I has taken photos but I was so immersed in learning that I forgot to take pics. But we will be back next time we're in San Jose.Entrance was $16 for two people and we spent about an hour here. There is limited parking on the side of the building and also free street parking. You can park on the street and walk around JapanTown!

Joe San: Clean and nearby JapanTown. The ticket menu says “Military Family Members Free” but should say “Active Duty Military: Free” since only the service member is admitted free, not their family members. Lost a star because of this.Aside from that, the museum is clean, items well described, and well organized. Excellent barracks display and farm equipment display. Heavy emphasis on FDR’s unconstitutional internment of US citizens following the “sneak” attack on Pearl Harbor. They showed case studies of three honorable US citizens of Japanese descent who filed lawsuits but lost their court cases because the FBI hid crucial evidence that they exhibited zero risk to the security of country prior to their internment. Politicians and the media should be doing all they can to prevent any U.S. citizen from being victims of this type of government conduct today.

New Almaden Quicksilver Mining Museum: what do users think?

kaliador18: Must visit!! The local volunteers are, themselves, the biggest reason to come to this small, remote piece of Californiana. Warm, welcoming, enthusiastic story-tellers all, & offering literally first-person, primary-source history, because they were there, & this is their community. Unbelievable just how critical this mining area is to history & heritage. Very family friendly location, coupled to a pleasant back garden available for picnics & scheduled events. Free, donations welcome. Plenty of parking.
