They were kind to my kids and very thoughtful and responsible. They cleaned up after they were finished. We had a small issue with our A/C yesterday evening and I emailed James. lorimer ancheta: Admittedly, this review is long overdue since I noticed that I never wrote one for their service to replace an old furnace and install new AC to my home in 2017. But I asked for a service call several weeks ago and wanted to write another review only to notice I never wrote an initial one.New install 2017: I did my due diligence to find an HVAC contractor to install new AC in the fall after the scorching summer of 2017. I received quotes from 4 contractors and Rescue Air came in with the lowest bid. I don’t automatically choose based on lowest price, but it meant something to me that the actual owner was the one who came out to provide the quote. I could also tell that he wasn’t trying to upcharge me with any extras like updating and cleaning ductwork, additional vents, or higher efficiency units, especially since I was clear with what I wanted. I asked for an additional quote to replace a 20-year-old furnace and he gave me an honest and reasonable quote based on my own research. Like others have said, he doesn’t frivolously add mark-ups to his cost like what you would expect other contractors to do. I understand contractors are entitled to profit but his costs are not meant to gouge customers.They performed the install in one day, was very respectful of walking in and out of the house, kept a neat and clean area of work, including coming in and out of the crawlspace, and followed all requirements per the permit. James the owner himself made sure his crew left the home clean and replaced everything they had moved. He stayed to explain the maintenance and operation of the unit and the next steps for the inspection. During the inspection, the inspector wanted some minor corrections, which James was happy to oblige. He came and took care of the issues himself, which included wrapping some unsightly insulation around the ductwork coming directly from the furnace into the plenum that the City required. I noted that it looked ugly and he said he’d take it down after the inspection. James and his team were professional, courteous, honest, accommodating and dependable. James takes pride in his family business and it shows in his work. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone else.Service Call July 2019: So for some reason after a really hot day in July, I noticed the air blowing from the vents were not as cool as previous days. I went to check on the condenser and noticed that the fan was not turning nor could I hear any noise coming from the compressor. It was a Thursday and with 100-degree heat scheduled for the weekend, I was sure anyone I called on Friday would not have any availability to come by before the heat arrived to fix the issue. I tried to troubleshoot it myself, but was afraid to really touch anything in case there was still any valid warranty. I tried calling James to see if maybe he could come out by Monday. To my surprise, he looked at his Saturday schedule and said he’d squeeze me in on Saturday morning to take a look. He systematically went thru his checklist of possible issues and eventually diagnosed the problem as a burnt relay probably from an insect or pest. He replaced the relay in about 20 min. I’m sure the piece was cheap, but he still spent 30 min on site. I expected to pay for the work at an hourly basis as what most contractors would charge. He told me the service call was free of charge. I was mildly shocked, I had my credit card in my hand. He said the service was on the house as long as I wrote him a review. This again shows what’s important to James is not always the bottom-line but his customer’s satisfaction and the relationship he builds with them. If you want an honest, hard-working professional excellent at his craft, don’t hesitate to call James and his Rescue Air Service team.
