Jason A: mayo.I also haven't seen many places that serve Orion beer which originates from my family's hometown of Okinawa so I order it when I get the craving. The staff here are nice and are pretty accommodating of our kids. When I ask my kid where she wants to eat and she says "Japanese food", she always means that she wants to go here and as a picky eater herself, that's tantamount to a ringing endorsement.Overall, we've found our go-to place for us whenever we just want to go out to eat somewhere that's cozy and familiar.
Sung Cha: Updates: 4/12/24Moeka and Itsuka did amazing to take care of our dinner. I am very satisfied with their service and the food I ordered was top quality; Karaage, Takoyaki, and Ramen noodle soup were all top notch! I would absolutely spread words to my circles to come try! Thank you.Black Garlic Miso! First time ever I’ve ever had this. I tried spicy version, and man, it has nice kick in its broth. Special experience I had, and I would love to come back and try other types.
Ruth Temple: Fabulous broth in these dishes! Delightful, we stopped after seeing the evening cherry blossoms at Hakone Garden; perfect cap to the evening. 🌸🌸🌸Dietary restrictions: I eat GF and had always thought of ramen places as being about the wheat noodles? No, no: it's all about the rich broths, and you can find rice plates or order with no noodles. I went for an appetizer seafood soup with a side of rice and side of kim chi and that made a perfect meal.
G Lee: .The other person had the katsu dim and didn’t like it. She said the meat was all breading. I tried a spoonful and thought it tasted good but maybe she’s right. Also enjoyed a nice small bottle of warmed sake. I have to say, their place had an odd smell. Not sure if it was their cleaning formula or what.
Liz Brizuela: The atmosphere is casual and there is always a long line. The food is really good with a lot of flavor and very delicious!! It also has a variety of drinks, but you have to drink them a little quickly because if you finish eating you have to leave the place. I like the atmosphere, I love the food, but I would like to feel more relaxed and have more time to enjoy my lunch or dinner.
Josie Guerra: Food is comforting, delicious and the quality is consistent. Service is wonderful. They are kind and accommodating with customizing orders.Be aware it will be first come first serve as the location itself is very small. The tables are pretty close to each other, so be ready for that. There is also a countertop option to sit at...You may need to wait in line, so plan accordingly. This place is worth the wait.Kid-friendliness: They are accommodating with customizing food options as some children are picky.Heads up though the location itself is smalland the tables are are very close together. You'll notice very quickly if there are noisy kids
Arthur T: Grew up coming to Kahoo Ramen...first time visiting in 10+ years. I'm glad they survived COVID.I was sad that they updated their menu to phase out their simple shoyu/shio ramens. Two of us ordered:-karaage $9.95, the fried chicken here is still really delicious, must order-yakioni mentaiko $5, crispy rice was good-black garlic miso ramen $14.95, ramen was ok. Not the biggest fan of miso ramen, but not too many options on ramen side nowDefinitely a great spot to eat! Excited to be back to try their other apps/a la carte items.Parking is super tough in the plaza.
Etson Choi: For those people who said the ramen is very salty, either they never tried ramen in Japan or they are less sodium people. The ramen is not salty at all compare the ramen I have tried in Hong Kong and Japan. The soup base is soso but not bad. Soup base doesn’t have strong pork bones flavour or any sign of pork oil/ pork fat which is a minus but other than that, everything is a plus.

Eve Lim: Went there a little past 8pm on a Sat night. Saw the staff starting to close part of the restaurant already. There was only 1 other table of 2 customers in the almost empty restaurant. Ordered the deep fried oysters and ramen. Wanted to try the ramen with Yuzu broth but when I enquired with the waiter if I’ll be able to taste the Yuzu, he said I won’t. Thought that is strange to have a description on the menu of broth having Yuzu taste but in actuality won’t taste it🤔 So I ended up going with his recommendation of one with chicken and pork base broth instead. Food was served fast. Oysters looked kinda over-fried as the batter looked rather dark, but tasted fine. The ramen noodle had a nice chewy texture and the broth tasted ok but nothing impressive. I wanted to try their ramen as I saw the pics online that they were chunky pieces of pork belly vs the usual thinly sliced ones. It is served chunky but it wasn’t as tender as I had hoped for. The taste was standard typical ramen taste except noodles were more chewy than most other ramen places. My friend had the Buta-ramen which had minced garlic, lots of bean sprouts and an egg which I noticed was a hard boiled egg and not soft boiled. I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to dine here again since I can get better tasting ramen elsewhere.
JM Wu: The pork chop rice here is also highly recommended! The pork chops are tender on the inside and crispy on the outside and delicious!PS: If you like my comments, you can follow them~I will take photos of the appearance and color of the food I saw on site and present it to everyone. I will go to various places to discover delicious food and unique places! !I wish everyone’s wishes come true!
Divij Patil: I visit this place at least once a month for the curry rice and karage chicken. Good food.
El T: when you order.
Elijah “Japs” Espino: . The karaage is super crunchy and flavored well. The takoyaki has alot of stuff on it that mixed well, and the octopus inside was not sparce. The food was served in 15 mins

Saulmurillo: Excellent service and delicious foodThe owner is a very kind personAnd very aware of his businesscongratulations
Jess Catli II: During my visit to Kumako Ramen & Sushi in 2019, I was treated to an exceptional culinary experience that seamlessly blended traditional flavors with contemporary presentation. The ambiance of Kumako Ramen & Sushi exuded authenticity and warmth, providing a welcoming setting for a delightful meal. The menu showcased a diverse selection of both ramen and sushi, each dish a testament to the chef's dedication to culinary excellence.
Kyle Panaga: Ordered: miso ramen with an extra egg on the side, chicken karaageTexture on the noodles is firmer than most ramen places which I like over a softer noodle. Some of the best ramen eggs I've had in the Bay Area as well. Karaage was piping hot and well seasoned with good dipping sauces.Wait staff is unobtrusive but diligent. They don't come around like every five seconds to ask how the meal's going, they just get their work done without interrupting your meal.Small tables, a counter, and a couple TVs kinda make it feel like a small noodle bar in a cyberpunk movie, but that's part of the charm. They really make every square foot count.Great place for ramen and great place to hang out solo or with any company!
Court Ranger: Amazing experience and food. I try something new every time and leave a happy full customer. Portions are hearty and quality is top notch.Kid-friendliness: Kid options
Josh Baltazar: One of my friends who went to SJSU recommended this ramen place so we all went to go and try it. A cosy space but nonetheless big enough we got a table for us. I ordered the Japanese Curry Cutlet which is a deep fried breaded pork cutlet topped with mildly spicy pork curry. My friend got the Miso Ramen which is a soy bean flavored broth, topped with wakame and diced fresh tofu. For a drink I got Soju Cocktail and I chose the lychee flavors.

Dan Meyer: .If you get anything spicy added, stir well. I thought I had stirred well, but it turned out the bottom half was far spiced than the top.Very little comes in the default dish. No egg, etc. so even though these are listed as extra in the menu, you need to add them to get anything at all.Lastly, #2 spicy is barely spicy at all. If you get Original and actually want it spicy, 2 isn’t going to be enough for you.

Mars: I’ve been going to Santouka ever since Kinokuniya Books was across the parking lot from Mitsuwa. It’s totally awesome to know that it’s still around and they make a great bowl of ramen. The ramen has always been great here. Not mind blowing but they deliver a taste that hasn’t changed since they’ve opened. The noodles are good and the broth delivers. The roast pork is darn good. I can’t think of any other ramen places that’ve been in San Jose for as long as they’ve been. BIG props to Santouka for having the stamina of a long distance runner.
Torsten Keil-Long: This is one of my favorite ramen spots in the South Bay. It is inside a grocery store, so expect a food court style seating arrangement. The food comes out quickly, and on days they take longer there is a whole grocery store and book store to look through. They are friendly and always get the order correct. We usually get the 36 and the 63 when we go, and I personally love how the spicy char sui miso soup!
Jeremy Roberson: If you have to choose one ramen shop to try, this. Classic is the one.
Amy H.: I ordered the #2 Salt Ramen here and it’s absolutely delicious and creamy. The broth is the best! This ramen spot is located in Mitsuwa Market. When you order they will give you a receipt with your order number. Back then, water was provided but now this spot doesn’t provide water to go along with the ramen. The Salt Ramen includes chashu, which I usually like since it’s very soft and tender. However, the chashu this time was a bit over cooked. The ramen noodles has a good texture and the broth was rich in flavors. I would highly recommend this spot!
