Jon H: I highly recommend Mike for the help he gave us with the training of our miniature Australian Labradoodle. Our puppy was so frightened during our walks we could barely make it around the block. After our training was completed, we can now enjoy long peaceful walks with our beloved pup once again. Justin Capsuto: I cannot speak highly enough about Mike Hatjes and his instruction/advice with our kelpie/lab mix Milu. Milu is a rescue from Taiwan, and has a lot of anxiety. Prior to getting in touch with Bay Area Dog Training, she was growling at guests in our house, being somewhat difficult on leash, and actually nearly got hit by a car when something spooked her during a walk.Mike taught us how to correct all of these behaviors - including how to teach Milu to use her doggy door at home. He is incredibly knowledgeable, easy to work with, and an overall fun person to be around. But he also takes discipline/training very seriously; at the end of the day, YOU have to put in the work to train your furry child using the tools he gives you.Milu is now a much happier dog. Her walks are enjoyable for all of us. She now understands that guests in the house are welcome unless *we* say otherwise. Nima jouzi: I鈥檓 absolutely amazed with the results, everybody told me that your puppy is too much and now they鈥檙e all surprised how he acts and follow the orders. Michael is very well aware of how dogs are and the way he trains them is morning but their own language rather than keep them hungry or keep give the tests to do things. Definitely worth the money for private sessions.

My dogs have learned to wait for permission to enter the house from outside and wait for permission to exit my car. This impresses all my friends and makes being around these pups a pleasure. I am so proud when they behave. I highly recommend Mike and his crew; they get 5 stars from me.

They made the best of everything in the midst of Covid and having to do these classes outdoors, and I am so thrilled we went with this training group. I was worried my dog would have a harder time because we rescued him as a 1 year old rather than getting him as a puppy, but Mike and Emily were always paying attention and would help the owners if any particular dogs were having a harder time. Alison Huber: puppy, but because of it's size it was going to be a nightmare as an adult if I couldn't get it's manners under control. I was so happy that Mike started the beginning level classes back up since the covid issue. I used him for my other dog 13 years ago and she is deaf but still going strong. The hand signals we learned were so helpful in now dealing with our older deaf dog. The classes are super productive and Mike really treats the dogs as individuals not a "one size fits all" kind of situation. I would highly recommend taking his class. We are actually going to take the next level because we had such a good time and want to learn more! A+ for Mike and his helper Emily!

Dolores Nelson: We first startled going to BADT in 1995. All 5 of our dogs over the years have ended up very well behaved as a result. After the first dog, we realized it is mostly human training and all family members should participate. We have a new puppy coming and are going to go get our BADT trading refreshed.

We had a consult with her about some troubles we were having with our adolescent dog and she helped us understand things from our dog's perspective and suggested ways we can change the behaviour. I liked that she charges per session rather than pay up front for a bunch of sessions. That way we can work on things that she'd suggested and setup follow up consultations as necessary. i would definitely recommend Rebecca's services to anyone looking for some canine behavioural training

Rebecca is passionate and experienced in puppy/dog training. Her systematic training course works like a wonder. After just first week of this four week training course, our puppy behaved much better. He not only commended basic cues but learned a good social skills when playing other pups. From Monday to Wednesday, our puppy was so excited when I dropped him off at Rebecca's house. I could see he was having such a good time while he was getting trained. She understands him completely.Unlike other trainers, she is very easy going and kindhearted with him and us. She takes her time so that we all understand what we're supposed to do. He is so much calmer now. Our relationship with him is growing and our bond with him is much stronger. He listens to us now and looks us in the eye for approval.
