My car needed brakes and due to my lengthy commute along 680, these guys were able to get my brakes and rotors replaced in a respectable amount of time. Jasmine Basco: My tire popped in Pleasanton on my way home from San Jose. AAA was not able to tow me back 90 miles away at 11pm on a Sunday evening so I got towed back to SJ. I called around the following morning looking for a specific run flat tires for my S550 and I reached Craig who was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about my needs. He provided me with a response in a timely manner and was also very accommodating in multiple ways. He was willing to match a cheaper price I found with another shop but most importantly, he was patient with me as my tow took 5 hours to get my car to his shop and yet, he was willing to continue to assist me with the change of my tires at 5pm even though they close around that time. Overall, I was pleased with the service that this shop provided and also had my 245 20inch wheels to get me back on the road safely with my two hour drive home. Five stars all around and I recommend this shop for any car service needs! Thank you, Craig and others- I appreciate you.

I first came to them when my regular mechanic got too busy and he suggested the guys at Tire Outlet.I mean, when your trusted mechanic suggests another mechanic? Gotta be be some serious credibility built up there.I am not kind to my poor, beat up old Mazda 5. And I usually don't go sprinting to the mechanic until there actually is a noticeable problem.The guys at Tire Outlet can at most times, see me that day. Point out the issue. Give me my options. A very reasonable estimate. And many times, get me back on the road by end of day.They've become my regular go to to keep my 'ol Mazda kicking just a little bit longer. And when I do finally get a newer vehicle, I know where to take it for any maintenance.Great work guys, as always.

Larry Bly: I had Raineri's do some work on my truck and really appreciated that they took the time to talk about some questions that I had and explain the work that they were going to do. I have gone to dealerships for fluid changes etc the past few times but they're always rushing you in and out and then of course recommending tons of services which don't appear in the manual and if you ask why they don't really want to explain their reasoning. Anyway the team at Raineri spent the time to look at each item and ended up recommending a lot fewer services than the dealership, not necessarily a sign that they're much better, but when I asked about why they were more than happy to explain their reasoning which I really appreciated.Services:Transmission,Oil change
Bradford Lynch: If you’re in need of a diesel mechanic, look no further. Luis is transparent, trustworthy, and timely, and runs an excellent shop that is capable of a wide range of repairs. I needed some emissions work done on my 6.7 Cummins, Luis worked with me to get the job done within my budget. As with any diesel, it took a while for the monitors to clear so I could pass a smog test but the truck just did so and has been check engine light free for several months now.

Ardeshir Ghoreishi: Good car mechanics are hard to come by. Mark this one as one you want to have. They specialize in trucks and vans but I am sure they welcome cars as well. Took my truck for a repair before my trip. As busy as he was he took me in, he did a great job and was very reasonable in his prices. His diagnosis was right on and he didn't try to fudge his work either. All and all don't take my word, experience it yourself
Matt Mrizek: Luis runs a great shop. Very knowledgeable, upfront, transparent and provides great customer service. He always makes time to talk you through your service and vehicle. They work on a lot of corporate fleets too which should tell you everything you need to know. Raineri worked on my LLY duramax and grand Cherokee eco diesel and knows both motors well. Will be going back to Raineri for all my mechanic needs!

Mike Blanchard: I brought in a small custom installation job and Luis was very responsive, easy to work with, quick turnaround, quality work and fair pricing. I’ve taken the truck back several times since then and the service has always been professional and trustworthy. Trucks are so complicated these days it’s easy for an unscrupulous shop to fleece you for stuff you don’t need, but I never have any hesitation taking it here knowing my truck is in good hands.

I showed up an hour later and he stopped what he was doing to quickly diagnose my car right in front of me, then write me an estimate. A few hours later and my car was back to normal. Dave: Believe all the stellar reviews, this place is legit. I do all my own maintenance and most repairs. My 2011 GMC Duramax was acting up with codes I couldn't diagnose. The owner Luiz scanned my codes, made the repairs and had me back on the road in a day. I went there because they are diesel specialists and had great reviews. And my experience at the dealer has been not great. Two days after the repair was complete Luiz called to check in and make sure all was good. A+!!

Reginald Payne: Setting up my appointment was very easy, and they were patient with answering my questions. The office is clean and welcoming, and they even have coffee, water, or tea for free for you for while you wait.Although I only got a steam engine cleaning, I can tell by the number of cars they have on the lot that are waiting to be worked on that they are probably a reputable business.I would recommend them to others.

nick simakas: We drove from the Midwest to Santa Clara to drop the car off at our daughter’s new place. The last several hundred miles the car began to make an awful noise. We had only one day to find the problem and fix it because we already purchased our plane ticket’s for our return trip home. Could we find a garage that would see the car so quickly, would they be able and willing to fix it in one day, would we be price gauged because we have a Michigan plate, would our daughter be able to navigate car repairs? We were worried parents. Bill and his mechanic made us feel like family. A test drive and a lift on the hoist found a loose heat shield that was quickly fixed. Bill let us know that if our daughter needed any help with the car during her stay in California she should reach out to him. What a relief knowing she and the car will be in capable hands!

Manuel Hernandez: Very honest place!!
kevin: Ken and his team took my 2017 Honda Civic Type R in around 9 am. His team and him were able to add me in without an appointment. His team and him were able to finish the job less than 3 hours and that is also including the alignment after the suspension swap. I had known Ken for a while since since I brought in my Is300 manual, few Miatas, S2000, and now my Type R. I always recommend his shop to anyone that does any service or mods.I ended up swapping out my springs to Eibach Pro Kit. I wanted to have a drop but I had experience with coil overs before and they’re too stiff for me since I’m older.The Eibach pro kit is a perfect setup and to keep the stock struts with the dampener controls. I had Swifts springs but those were too bouncy. I had the RS-R coil overs and then the Fortune Autos. All had been too stiff and bouncy. I believe the Honda Type R setup needs to be on progressive springs instead of linear to have a firm and comfortable for the San Jose road condition.I did not have any before pictures but this is how my car sits on 18x9.5 inch +45 offset with 265/35/18 tires.

Aye_ Norby: Huge thanks to Ken and his team. My isf had suffered an unusual front passenger head failure. I had found an oil leak and thought it was the valve cover gaskets. Took everything off and discovered bits of rocker arms and a shifted cam lobe. Called 11 local shops and all declined the job because it was simply “a waste of time and a huge job”. Called Ken and was told to bring it in. Towed the car 130 miles over. Spoke with ken and immediately knew i was in good hands. Ken was honest and friendly throughout the whole job. Ken and His team were able to squeeze me in and perform a head rebuild. Will recommend them to everyone and will continue to go to them for my needs 🤝

I usually DIY most of my car maintenance so it took a bit of convincing from my friend, but I ultimately came into the shop at his referral for a clutch replacement on my RSX Type-S since I really did not want to deal with dropping the subframe or buying new tools for a once-in-a-while clutch job. Ken helped me pick and choose the right parts and services while being budget-conscious along the way. The entire process was made clear before beginning and Ken kept me informed of progress along the way. Service was completed overnight and I was able to pick up the following day. Ieng Lao: I took my Toyota Corolla 2016 for an oil change and there was no appointment needed. I requested synthetic oil and the owner quoted $60.I waited there and watched what they did with the car. The owner used Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy Motor Oil 0W20 Full Synthetic and took about 30 minutes to get the oil changed. I was very happy with service and highly recommended this shop.

Michael McWhirter: This guy was so awesome and helpful and very affordable. I went in to get an oil change and the guy put air in my tires and washer fluid and was even kind enough to point out that I needed to add more engine coolant, which I think if he had the right kind he would have offered to given me some also. I would definitely recommend taking your vehicle here as this is one of the best experiences I have ever had and I feel that it is very hard to come by people of this quality. I hope they keep up the outstanding work.

Marcus Morroc-Bey: Akin’s Auto Repair has cemented itself as our new auto-repair shop.For some context, we called in on a Tuesday to inquire about an inspection on our vehicle. He told us it would be fine to bring it in the next day, so we did. We expressed we were on a tight timeline, as we had to leave for a road trip the following Friday. Akin and his mechanics were able to fix all of the problems on the car despite having a limited staff, but they didn’t stop there. They proceeded to fix things we didn’t even know needed to be fixed, practically free of charge. They realigned our car, installed new towers, and more. All of the work was done with high-quality parts amounting to far below the industry standard.Going to car shops can be anxiety-inducing as someone with no car knowledge. Car mechanics frequently prey on the inexperienced. However, my experience at Akin’s starkly contrasted prior experiences I’ve had. I will be going here for the rest of my time in the Bay Area.

Momo: Tried Akins Mechanic for the first time and I’m seriously impressed. The mechanic keeps it 100% real - no beating around the bush. You bring in your car, he tells you straight up what’s wrong. After dealing with some questionable mechanics in Palo Alto, Akins was a breath of fresh air. A friend recommended them, and I’m glad I listened. He even told me my brakes were fine and didn’t need work, but advised when to check them again. Ended up fixing the squeal in the brakes, and it was done quickly at a fair price. Definitely my go-to mechanic now.
