Joseph is passionate and knowledgeable about San Francisco and it definitely showed during the tour. He pointed out lots of good food to eat and shared dim sum with us. He also gave us a few minutes to make purchases at the fortune cookie co which was cool to get for souvenirs/gifts. It was great that the on/off bus tour came with the walking tour as an added bonus. The tour is easily walkable and lasts about 1hr 45 minutes. Would go again and do recommend!

Janet Wise: We had a blast! We had a groovy soul tour guide but the most fun were the other passengers and the people on the streets who were great as we shouted peace and love from the windows. Will go again!
laura navarro: Great tour around all the city you can know all about San Francisco places
Kalai Herko: Friday 10:30am3 people$309 totalWe really enjoyed ourselves on the magic bus in San Francisco! The bus was about 15 minutes late at the predetermined location so we thought we missed it somehow but discovered others were waiting for the tour as well so we just patiently waited for its arrival. The driver and tour guide were amazing! They welcome you on board with the sweetest of smiles and warmth. Once aboard the bus, you’ll be offered a daisy or other type of flower as a true sign of peace. As the bus makes its way through the streets of the Union Sq area, you’re treated to a short video taking you back generations to a much different era. The bus actually morphs into a small theatre, blocking outside light, noise and distractions while you enjoy historical clips; helping you to understand the movement of freedom and peace. Before you know it, you’re in the center of the Haight-Ashbury district where you will really feel the groove. Passengers are encouraged to express love and peace to all, like a friendly dog anxious to meet you from the car window. For over 2 hours, the experience, music, video clips stories and narratives of SF streets mesmerize you but as we find ourselves back in the 21st century, so too does the time pass and the tour brings you back to the starting location. Don’t forget to tip your host/hostess for a really great tour! I was not prepared for this and felt tremendous guilt afterwards. We opted to reserve the Magic Bus Alcatraz tour so we returned around 1pm which left plenty of time to grab some lunch and find ur way to Pier 33, where you check in for your self-guided tour and pre-board at 3:20pm for your 3:50 departure. Be aware that you will not claim your tickets at Will Call; you must go to the Group Sales window. The Alcatraz Tour was sooooooo cool! Please take advantage of the audio tours; they contain so much information and without it, you could be lost! The ferry to Alcatraz is about 15 minutes and the group size is pretty large, like 200? Once ur there on the island, you mingle and the crowd size is minuscule compared to the enormous island and prison. There’s so much to see and do on the island. There is a gift shop; two of them. There are two main areas for restrooms but be forewarned, they are small so lines will be long in the warmer months. On your way out, you can opt for a short video in a darkened theatre-like room as well as other smaller rooms featuring other artifacts and interesting info. The final ferry to SF leaves at 6:40, which is actually just the amount of time you need for the self-guided tour. On our way out, visitors who booked an evening tour were excitedly walking toward their first stop, wearing illuminated necklaces and anxious to hear the haunted tales of the prison. We live in Philly and have visited the Eastern State Penn many times. It seems that the same production company helped to develop both programs. They are actually quite fascinating but I kept feeling I was still back home, in Eastern State. Alcatraz is MUCH LESS dilapidated though.Overall, a fun and worthy expense for a day in SF. WE would highly recommend the Magic Bus w/Alcatraz Tour!
Masoud Lak: I like here to much
Stewart Stewart: The ride is Awesome, James your driver is so cool and knowledgeable about San Francisco it's amazing. Me and my wife had a great time and the bus is so Psycodelic, makes you feel like you're in the 60s.They teach you alot about San Francisco. We will be back

Matt Halasz: Awesome tour! Can be busy but you can move at your own pace
Callie Johnson: Nestled in the chilly waters of San Francisco Bay, Alcatraz Island has long intrigued visitors with its storied past. The Behind the Scenes Night Tour offers an exclusive glimpse into the hidden corners of this iconic former prison. Here’s why it’s an experience worth every moment:Guided Exploration: Imagine stepping beyond the ordinary tourist path. With a group of 30 or fewer, you’ll embark on a 4-5 hour guided adventure led by knowledgeable experts. These guides unveil off-limits areas—the very spots where notorious inmates once roamed. You’ll hear tales of daring escapes, prison life, and the island’s eerie history.Off-Limits Areas: The tour takes you to places rarely seen by the public. Explore the hospital wing, where medical secrets and inmate stories intertwine. Stand in the solitary confinement cells, feeling the weight of isolation. These spaces hold echoes of desperation and resilience.Special Programs: As twilight settles, the island transforms. The Behind the Scenes Night Tour includes special live presentations—intimate glimpses into Alcatraz’s past. Listen to riveting accounts of escape attempts, riots, and the daily struggles faced by both inmates and guards. These programs change, ensuring a fresh experience each time.Cellhouse After Dark: As darkness envelops Alcatraz, you’ll join the regular Alcatraz Night Tour. Wander through the cellhouse, guided by an audio tour that brings the stories to life. Imagine the clank of cell doors, the whispers of desperate men, and the haunting echoes of history. It’s a visceral connection to the past.Breathtaking Views: Alcatraz at night offers a different kind of beauty. The city lights twinkle across the bay, framing the island’s rugged silhouette. From the parade ground, gaze at the Golden Gate Bridge—a sentinel guarding the entrance to the Pacific. It’s a view that lingers in your memory.Practical Tips:Timed Entry: Arrive at least half an hour before your ticket time. Security checks and boarding take time.Prioritize Ranger Programs: Attend any ranger-led presentations—they add depth to your experience.Embrace the Night: Alcatraz reveals its soul after dark. Let the shadows guide you.In summary, the Alcatraz Behind the Scenes Night Tour transcends mere sightseeing. It immerses you in the layers of history, leaving an indelible mark. Don’t miss this chance to step into the shadows and hear Alcatraz’s whispered confessions.Remember, Alcatraz isn’t just a place; it’s a chapter in the human story—one that continues to captivate and intrigue
Bret Salowitz: It was amazing to see the actual isolation and regular cells. Only seen it in television with Eastwood but stepping inside was unreal. I had no clue that they had woman and children also living there at that time. Also , they had a battle there that I've never heard of. A must see for sure. Only small drawback were those damn flies. They were everywhere from the ferry to the ground level of the prison.
Tarcisio Carvalho: We bought tickets online in advance and had no problem going on the tour on the scheduled day and time. The Ferry takes around 30 minutes to get to the island. Once there, you walk along a ramp to a higher point. Following the arrows, you reach the place where you pay for the audio tour. The audio is available in several languages, including Portuguese. With audio guidance, you can walk through the old maximum security prison, viewing its cells while listening to an explanation about the place. To return, just go to the pier and wait for the next ferry.
Superfm Den Haag: Really very interesting worth a visit
Randy Trimble: There is so much to learn and see. The tour is definitely with it.

Katrina L. Coker: , and he waited for us to use the restroom after the tour but before he dropped those of us staying in Union Square back near our hotels.Boat tour:Pros:- Get right up to and under the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and Angel Island.- Bar and bathroom on boardCons:- Difficult to hear the audio
Cp. Juan José: Super good tour
Catherine Phillips: They need to have the cruise ship be specific about where we meet the bus, it delayed our tour for an hour. Other than that glitch the tour was very good.
Brandon Siracuse: .I chose to get off the bus in Sausalito after Muir Woods and grab some lunch and catch the ferry back to SF. Great experience overall. Just would recommend driving yourself to Muir Woods if you want to spend more than 1.5 hours there.
Noel Rivas (PV Smile): Stunning views of Adam Francisco Bay
Angela Coto Perez: Great Tour! Staff onsite were friendly and informative as well as our driver, Erika. The audio worked perfectly and was easy to understand. It’s helpful if you follow along with the map and route provided at the link. This is an excellent way to get around the city and see several of the more known sites in a day. I will absolutely use them again. Highly recommend!
Zette S: We had a great time!
Mattgruff: James was a great tour guide. Very informative and funny. The drive across the Golden Gate bridge was beautiful and Muir forest was amazing. We decided to take the ferry from Sausalito. All in all a wonderful trip.
Kennard Yu: I really enjoyed this experience, and our guide was also really friendly. He took us to places where the other tour buses usually won’t go to, such as the palace of Fine Arts and the Painted Ladies. It was a bit longer than I thought, but overall we got a nice tour of the city and had a good time.

Sara Vancil: We had a fun two hour tour with Anthony! We had five adults and fit comfortably and the heated seats and warm, waterproof blankets were awesome. I loved that they took photos for us along the way and then sent them to us via AirDrop at the end! We did a two hour tour and got to spend a lot of time in the Presidio, down near Fort Mason and the Golden Gate bridge, into North Beach and Chinatown, down Lombard Street, up to Coit Tower, and along the wharf! One thing I should have done is asked up front where the tour would go...I would have liked to get out to Golden Gate Park and the ocean but he said that we would have needed to book the 3-hour tour for that. I should have asked or I should have inquired if we could have focused on the park instead of Chinatown/North Beach as the tour was much more pleasant in the Presidio, etc rather than in traffic, but that's no fault of theirs! This was a fun and fabulous way to see the City and I highly recommend!
christopher richardson: Great way to see and learn about the city!
E R: This was a super fun and informative way to see San Francisco. Brian was very knowledgeable and engaging. Our three teenagers all said this was their favorite part of our trip to SF, so that should tell you something! Adults agree with that sentiment.
Abby: This was the best tour! Our guide was fantastic and we saw all the best known SF spots plus so much more! It was entertaining and informative and the perfect pace. Blankets and seat heaters kept us warm. My 13yr old son loved it. So far it has been his favorite activity from the trip.
Mike_ DC3: Jo Jo was a great tour guide. We saw the entire city along with the special stops, which were amazing.
Ana Romero: Our family was in San Francisco during Christmas Break and we booked the Tuk Tuk really not knowing what to expect and my family and I had such a blast! Edith was amazing I would highly recommend her! Edith continually fed us nuggets of the city throughout the tour and we learned a ton while having a great time in the Tuk Tuk. We will do this again on our next trip! Changa we appreciate all the fun memories you have given our family for many years to come you are absolutely amazing! My kids have talked about this tour so much with friends/family. Cant wait to do this again!
jay murphy: My family had a great time with the holiday TukTuk tour. Our guide Brian was funny and cheerful and chill. Was worth every penny.
Cam: Edith was such a wonderful tour guide for our trip!! She is so personable, knowledgeable, and such a genuine person. We 110% enjoyed our experience and glad we chose to do the tour!
Eric Cornel: "5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"It was an enjoyable and different experience. And our tour guide/driver was pleasant and accommodating. Keep it up!
Ulrike Schuster: We had a really good time by driving with our guide Edith and by Tuk Tuk through San Francisco. It was an amazing experience which I would not like to miss. Thank you, Edith!
Niki Barnes: Edith was great!!!! I recommend!!!
Cassie Ott: Such an amazing ride!! The karaoke option is so fun. Every pedestrian we passed had a smile on their face seeing us go by. We went through the Presidio, all the way down to the Embarcadero/ferry building and down Lombard street. I was celebrating my birthday and it was everything I wanted and more. Felt comfortable and safe the whole time.
Elizabeth Skordinski: 10 out of 10! THE BEST EXPERIENCE & MUST DO! W/ LUCKY TUK TUK TOURS!I was so nervous to self drive the scooter. Lucky Tuk Tuk was professional, kind, explained route so well and got to make incredible memories w/ my son based off their recommendations. It was so fun and I'm grateful for the experience. It's a MUST DO in San Fran!
Thomas Gallardo: I love this tour! The guide Brian clearly knew his stuff and was extremely personable, which made it feel more like a day out with an old friend. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a good time!
KC Green: Touring SF by Tuk Tuk was AWESOME. It is a really cool way to get around and see the sights. Our tour guide was superb, taking us places the buses cannot go, educating us and sharing great stories about the spots we visited, and just overall having a great and fun personality!

Timesh Amtha: Great time!
Lee Spoor: We had a great time! We loved the ride and got to see much more of San Francisco that we thought we would. It was easy to get set up and fun to do. We’d do it again in a heartbeat!
Chris Smith: Great way to see the sights of San Francisco and have extra fun in the GoCar with it's guided tour using its own SatNav which I was sceptical would work that well but it did. Staff were really helpful. I would recommend 👍
Mary: This was a SUPER fun day. Loved the guided tour, but with the ability to stop and savor the sights.
Ivan Hermosillo: Great ride
Alina Maria: Taking a GoCar tour in San Francisco is a great idea to explore the coastline areas by the Golden Gate. You'll enjoy lots of green spaces on a somewhat ‘clear day’ for hiking, picnicking, and views. We were able to explore some of the touch points on the GPS within a 3hr time frame.1st time doing this and for sure gave me a lasting impression - would highly recommend for those who just need that time to be slightly spontaneous while still organized with how to spend your day outside.
Carlen Crespo-Farias (CRESPO-FARIAS): Excellent! It was a little out of my comfort zone but they offer good guidance and support. Be aware that you are definitely going to pay extra because with traffic and normal city events there is no way you can do the route in 30 min or an hour. We purchased the Groupon and we had the 1 hour tour as part of the included attraction. We are locals so we knew how to get around in the city to avoid going too much over the hour but if we where tourists we would have payed a lot extra since it's a dollar per minute after the established time. Overall it's a very cool experience and staff was friendly and chill!
Linda Baron: A great experience to visit different neighborhoods without getting tired and with lots of laughter. The GO CAR is great, and with GPS! I recommend 😜
Marie Gregg: The gentlemen that worked here were very accommodating and friendly. Helped with questions and the like very willingly. During the tour we had a great time! We took our children ages 8 and 10 and they had a blast. The only thing concerning was the fact that we were part of traffic but because we moved slowly cars tended to go around us which is intimidating when you are so small. We've been telling all our friends how fun it was!
Jayne Porta: I was hesitant at first but this was so much fun. Saw much more than I thought I would and the staff at GoCar Tours were great. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 was because the upgraded GPS tablet stopped working. We called and explained what happened . They sent some one with a new car to where we stopped; on the road we went again. Would recommend 1st time visitors to the city to tour this way. The history and directions are told to you through speakers on the car. Easy to hear and follow.
Sara Carter: So much fun! What a great way to see San Fran. Didn’t want the tour to end. My son loved it too
Simone Mims: who have lived in SF for years. We learned so much!!!!
Jon Flynn: The best time driving around seeing so many sites. The all day option is the way to go....too many photos to add
CJDonnigan: Highlight of my trip to San Fransisco, buying for the day is a must, there are just so many places to stop along the way for amazing views and experiences.
