Autumn Adamme: I completely enjoyed the meal I had here recently. All of the food was delicious, the young man who was our waiter was incredibly attentive. The restaurant was empty other than our group of three, but we could see the kitchen was quite busy with takeout orders - it was a very rainy night. We each ordered an entree and only one appetizer and had food leftover. They brought us a complimentary gulab jamun, which I never order as I’ve rarely enjoyed it, but I was quite grateful as it was soooo delicious- rarely is that dessert served warm. What a treat!I’m glad it’s my local, I look forward to my next visit.Dietary restrictions: My friend dining with us is very spice sensitive. She expressed her concerns before ordering and was very happy with her meal.

Swap: , matar paneer with Green chili naan and garlic naan. We actually ordered the paneer tikka masala but the order got messed up. I didn’t have any complaints about the matar paneer though! And our favorite was the cauliflower roast with the khichdi - a must try!If you’re in SFO and looking for some seriously good Indian food - stop by here! Also a special mention of their service - really, sweet people! After ordering, I realized that I was out of lactaid in my wallet and my spouse needed to make a quick run to Walgreens. They accommodated our request to bring the food out when he was back. Thanks to that kindness, I enjoyed my lunch without having to deal with a tummy ache later!

melanie carroll: Best Indian food I’ve had in a long time. Delicious

Gia Punjabi: We're really grateful this restaurant is in our neighborhood! The owners are so kind and provide the friendliest service. We really like the saag paneer, samosa, pulao, gulab jamun and kheer. The tandoori is pretty nice too. I feel like the naan isn't the best. The Chicken Tikka Masala sauce is really yum! I would encourage them to add some onions or bell peppers to the chicken tikka masala dish to make it a little better.Overall, really great food and we particularly love their dinner for 2 deal. We happily eat here often.

soul celebration: We have gone out to celebrate Mother's Day this is the most beautiful restaurant we have ever seen! The art on the walls is exquisite! Beautiful ceilings white tablecloths red napkins fresh roses on every table! The food is spectacular the service is out of this world we are thrilled we're coming back from my husband's birthday this week! Thank you so much this is the best food in the world we have a family of 8 people thank you so much we are so happy we found you!

Cynthia Madonna: & it was my first time ordering plain rice pilaf; the score should really be 4.9 though for all the spices, sauces, heat - temperature wise, food comes out quickly, and is reminiscent of pre-pandemic consistency. Also, prices weren’t over the top. We tend to order something extra to take home with us,I thank them very much and will be back again soon.Vegetarian options: Many appetizers, naan, and entrees are on the menu consistent with Southeast Asian cuisine. I didn’t pay that much attention but believe there’s a whole vegetarian selection.Kid-friendliness: Lots of kids- babies to young children on my last two visits.

Nagari Swamy: An absolute gem for authentic Indian flavors! From the moment you step in, the aroma of spices fills the air, setting the stage for a culinary journey. The curries here are a symphony of flavors, each dish bursting with its own unique blend of spices and fresh ingredients. Whether you prefer mild or spicy, there's a curry to suit every palate. But what truly steals the show are the naans - perfectly baked to golden perfection, with just the right amount of chewiness. They're the ideal companion to the rich and flavorful curries, providing the perfect vessel for savoring every last bit of sauce. The service is warm and welcoming, with staff who are passionate about sharing their love for Indian cuisine. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a casual dinner or a special celebration.Overall, if you're craving authentic Indian flavors, look no further. This restaurant is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates delicious curries and mouthwatering naans."

Shiva N: Came here randomly on a day when they had brunch on a Saturday. It’s lunch foods plus bottomless mimosas. They had a very wide selection of foods that were made very well. Everyone in your group will find something they like. Also the fresh naan is amazing ! The food was high quality and tasty. They had both vegetarian and meat options. They also had lots of desserts and chai as well. The environment feels upscale but relaxed. The service is great. Servers check on you frequently but in a subtle and slick way, not overbearing or annoying.

Robert Sirchia: Ok so the food was good. It’s Indian so you can never say it’s traditional because someone will disagree and argue.Atmosphere here was ok it felt like a modern 80’s restaurant. Nothing wrong with that just making the observation.Let’s take a moment and talk about the staff. Freaking spot on amazing. They were all over us and we didn’t even notice. They make the experience here as good as it is. Not sure if the owners read these reviews but take care of your staff they make Amber what it is.Bottom line go and enjoy this gem in the Bay Area.

Аlisa Paludeti: Went there on Saturday evening and got a table instantly. It got busy around 8pm so probably it’s better to use reservation, especially for bigger parties. The place is very spacious, has several large areas and all of them are very cosy and intimate.I liked the menu, as it wasn’t too large and it was pretty easy to find what you’re in the mood for and make an order. We went with Tandoori Chicken, Malabari shrimp and Garden collage from tandoori. All the dishes were delicious and the presentation was great too.The service was also good. We had our water refilled without having to ask and our waiters were knowledgeable and friendly.I’m definitely putting this place to my to-go list for Indian food and can recommend it for cosy dining experience in SF downtown.

Jennifer Guptill: I recently tried the Indian Kitchen food truck off Interstate 80, and it's safe to say it offers the best Indian food I've ever had! The flavors were authentic, and the variety on the menu was impressive. Highly recommended!

Valerie Ishida: We had such a wonderful time here. The food was delicious with all of our favorites, tandoori, curry, samosas, naan and roti, and lassi. Both the waiter and the kitchen were so accommodating with us, even helping us with a special request for something extra mild for a toddler. And they deliver!

Delene Wolf: , toffee pudding w/ice cream made specially for them by Smitten. We are very much rooting for them & looking forward to being able to eat in their beautiful dining room once again.

Charu Madan: , Fish and CHips and Palak Chaat. The Paneer tikka was unique since it seemed to have a hint of mustard oil and that just took it to a new level. In the main course, cthe kids LOVED the Shrimp dish in a rich sauce, and the Daal Makhani was good too. Also ordered the potato fig kofta and I would say that was the least favorite, so we might not order that again. Their naan was definitely amazing, but highly recommend the Laccha Parantha. Ended on a sweet note with theToffee pudding. and the Fig+Honey ice cream and both were exceptional. All in all, we are thrilled to find this place and will be certainly visiting again soon and hence with no hesitation, they deserve a 5 star!

Anna Amador: Food was pretty excellent. Found it to be a bit overpriced and the portions were not large enough and we were constantly ordering more food to be served only bite sized food. Which was the point I guess? All the veg appetizers were absolutely delicious though.

Maria Comstock: I love this place and can't wait to go back. The paneer and spinach lasagne was amazing. Super great service too!

Max Utter: Quick and affordable

Truly a delightful change from bread batter! It’s chickpeas for the batter!! Slightly crispy on outside leaving the eggplant moist n perfect on the inside. Lamb vindaloo was flavorful and the kids loved the chicken Tikka masala as their gateway to Indian cuisine. If you can stand the heat, the owner informed us that you can up the heat level in a few degrees from the menu to include authentic India hot

Renee Cohen: The samosas were big, crispy and delicious. The chicken tikka was delicious! The ice tea was so different and refreshing. Jelsun our server was friendly and professional. It's a great, cute local place.

allison whitten: . From the Papadam and chutneys offered complimentary

Ralph Edwards: , somosas, saag paneer, lamb korma, and butter and garlic naan. Everything, start to finish, was excellent. The best Northern Indian meal we've ever had. The service was exemplary. Another sign that the restaurant is very popular with locals was the many pickups for take-out. The only reason I rated the atmosphere at four starts was because the restaurant was just a bit noisy for my old ears. We had a thoroughly enjoyable experience for a very reasonable price, and look forward to our next meal at Royal Indian Cuisine.

Carlin DeCato: Solid , traditional menu. Attentive, efficient, friendly table service. Can customize the spice heat level - which is always super helpful. They offer zero beer which always goes well with East Indian meals. The papadam was perfectly done and arrived at the right timing. There are other larger , high ambiance Indian options in the area but when you don’t have time for a long wait or need a place where you can more easily converse with a friend without fighting the buzz of a large high energy dining room , this is a really great option I can readily recommend. Would return any day and look forward to trying more of the menu.

Caleb Sirak: Royal Indian Cuisine offers a delightful surprise for those who may be hesitant to try something new. Initially skeptical, I found myself completely charmed with just one bite. The menu boasts a variety of traditional dishes, each bursting with authentic flavors that are both rich and satisfying. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with decor that beautifully reflects the cultural heritage of India. What truly sets this restaurant apart, however, is its exceptional service. The staff are not only attentive but genuinely kind, going out of their way to ensure every guest feels special and valued. This amazing service, combined with the exquisite food, makes for a truly memorable dining experience. Whether you're a longtime lover of Indian cuisine or a newcomer, Royal Indian Cuisine promises a culinary adventure that's sure to delight.

joanna bradley: The food was really good. We went on a Tuesday night and got the butter chicken, saag paneer and naan. It was a cozy, small and on a fun busy street.I believe our servers name was Jensen. He was so sweet and accommodating and valued our opinion of the food. We definitely will be back-the food is great and the service is so kind which is rare these days.

Mark Swanson: Jackson was sensational as a host and the food was beyond delicious. Excellent service, the food was fresh, hot and tasty. I recommend the saag paneer, the vindaloo, the butter chicken and loved the large variety of Naan. This place is a gem. The new generation door dashers and Google eaters are missing out by not enjoying a sit down meal in this awesome and authentic restaurant.
