Ramona Hartmann: This pub has very good food and delicious beer.We were warmly welcomed and served courteously. We felt good.I would come back here at any time.
Melissa Harris: I think that it's time for renovations. It really would make the dining experience more pleasant. The fish and chips was good, but I've had better. The waitress was EXCELLENT!!!
C Marsh: . The service was impeccable and the attention to detail when plating the food was “5” star. It out does any other breakfast restaurant in the area! And all for a very reasonable price point. We had the Sutters breakfast, Taylor combo, Smoked Salmon Benedicts, California and Baja Omelet. Look at the pictures with their fruit cup…made you feel special. Thank you, well done…now that’s what I call customer service!
Alexander Contreras: Great place no doubt wish it was open late

James Gomez: Excellent and friendly service. We finally had the food here, starting with the sourdough bread and salted butter appetizer which was great! We decided on the Wednesday Dinner special: Grilled bistro steak with Béarnaise sauce, cooked medium with garlic mashed potatoes, and grilled asparagus! We paired our meals with sparkling wine, Rotari Brut and 2nd Amendment’s watermelon wheat beer. We finished it with the chocolate cheesecake, which was a bit dense, but packed full of flavor with an excellent presentation with the fruit and cream. Glad we ended up here on a Wednesday!

Leon Bang-Hetlevik: I love the burgers here!
Bryan Kitahara: Great hole in the wall—cell service doesn’t work inside, great to escape.
Robert J Tallon Jr: This is a small neighborhood bar with a limited menu that was recently sold. But it's not open right now, so my comments could be moot, depending on the new owners.
Jeffrey: Casual pub atmosphere. Friendly staff. Outdoor seating
anonymous anonymous: Absolutely cool spot to ✔

Rebecca Oreamuno: Jawaun was a great and super friendly bartender. We had an an antelope burger and vegan hot dog with vegan chili!! Sweet Happy Hour with $2 off the great draft selection and unique premium cocktails! Everything was delicious and everyone was welcoming!!! I'll be heading the spot anytime I visit San Francisco.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian hot dog, vegetarian burger option and amazing vegetarian chili!!
Christopher Pratt: . Fries sold separately, but were crunchy, hot and fluffy on the inside. Beer selection better than a lot of pubs, got a good stout that wasn’t just Guinness. Decor is mood. The red booths would not be ideal for eating, but there are a number of two top tables, a four top or two, and the bar for eating meals.Vegetarian options: Impossible Smash BurgerDietary restrictions: Vegan available for smash burger
Mathieu Perrais: One of the greatest bar in the area.Manager has so much knowledge and wisdom.Just go, eat, drink, listen.
Freddy Clark: Good beer list with a nice variety, thier rendition of poutine was tasty and a big portion, burger was well executed.Bartender was great and the overall vibe of the establishment was perfect for unwindingVegetarian options: They have non meat replacements on some items for whatever reason
Josh Montero: The best way to get a feel for any city is to explore its bars. San Francisco is the sort of city that's almost schizophrenic, so many different iterations of itself all over. For some, that's great, and others a drawback, but I love it. Shovels embodies that perfectly. From the exterior it has the feel of a real dive, almost sketchy, but like the city as a whole, looks can be quite deceiving. Inside, the bar has a throwback vibe that feels much more sophisticated than its exterior would lead you to believe. A well curated drink menu offers some impressive options, all very well made. Now, I get that a lot of bars don't want to mess with the added complications of serving food. Sure it brings in extra revenue, but also means more staff and a kitchen space that eats up already scarce square footage. Though Shovels actually figured out that really good food is actually a game changer. While I was visiting on a random weekday afternoon, multiple orders came in over the phone for pick up orders for food, meaning a mostly empty bar on a weekday afternoon, was bringing in more money than just the patrons inside. I had the fried pickles, which were the best I've had, and enjoyed them tremendously. I will be back, for sure, and suggest you stop by as well.

Eric Hillje: I stayed at the Bartlett Hotel and checked into my room. I was hungry and started typing for a restaurant near me. No need as the Bartlett Hall is next door. Bring a friend or make one to bring before you go as the portions are giant. The Smashed Barlett Burger is so good. It paired well with some of their own brewed beer. This made for a good day. The staff were knowledgeable and provided fun conversation.
Suren Chelian: Food is… Spectacular!!!
Gail Ann Williams: The brewer won a Medal in an international beer competition and we heard there was a chef’s pairing with that beer. Stopped by last night and thoroughly enjoyed dinner and excellent classy beers from IPAs to Belgian golden to a Quad that was velvety smooth and dessert without being overly sweet. Amazing hidden gem.Recommended dishes Beer Flights, Salad …

Kimberli Hiller: Great food and drink, great decor, only downside was the disco music playing, loudly, the entire time we were eating. Felt at odds with the look of the place and the menu. Fully expected Irish music instrumentals to be playing or Irish pub songs. Would have been great if it was. Food was excellent for the price, we had the chowder, grilled bacon wrapped prawns, bangers and mash and mushroom ravioli. All wonderful.
Goose Letona: Been an all time favorite of my wife and I.Distinctly Irish pub and do excellent food.Love my Guiness pour.....Live music!Feels like home...
Global Explorer: We had a great meal and drinks! The service staff was incredibly nice, fast, and courteous. The fish and chips were great and the beer went perfectly with it. A lively and noisy atmosphere that makes you feel at ease and that you are in a place of friends. I wouldn’t advise for those with hearing difficulties as a conversation would be difficult. We will be back!
Luke Ranger: Great place.Parking: Hard to find, park in garage.Kid-friendliness: Kids menuWheelchair accessibility: Ramps

Jennifer Moras: we got the appetizer sampler the onion rings are so seasoned. The breaded mushrooms are very good. The potato skins were very good nice bacon flavor. Wr got the corned beef quesadilla. Don't sleep in this. It is very flavorful. It wasn't dry or to soggy. Delicious. We got the full fish and chip platters. The fish is so tender the batter sticks perfectly to the fish. The fish is buttery . You get the wonderful pop of grease nit to much the perfect pop. Then you add the malt vinegar and tartar sauce . Omg such a experience of true authentic fish and chips. The chips are seasoned well. They are not dry . Very delicious. I got the bread pudding. I didn't try it yet but I bet it is 100 percent fire just ad was the food. I look forward to ordering from here again. Highly recommend 10 stars
Greg Feneis: June 22, '23Michael & Patrick at the helm tonight and they did not disappoint!August 24, '23 Still just as nice 👍October 26, '23The crispy buffalo chicken sandwich was delicious. Andrew Miller: After visiting the city many times over the years, my parents had me meet them there for a few drinks and boy I am glad they did!! Love the vibe and energy of this restaurant. To add sugar on top, meeting Marissa was the true highlight. She was so sweet and never short of awesome conversation. Very welcoming. Also if you do visit, I recommend the corned beef hash for breakfast. Also the traditional Irish breakfast looked just as yummy!! Thank you, Marissa for everything and see you on our next SF visit!❤️

Shelley Costantini: My friends and I always enjoy Jamber. Last night we met for a happy hour and shared a jug of delicious 🍷tempranillo. Plus, we ate the tastiest and fluffiest pretzels with a mustard and a 🧀 chessy dipping sauce. 😋 Nice ambiance and staff.
Danielle Thoe: Great beer and noms as usual. Staff taking covid19 precautions seriously. Glad to see them back open!
Nissa Guerrero: Soooo happy Jamber made it through the beginning of 2020!! Yuuuuum!

Daniel McNamara: As authentic an Irish pub experience as you'll get in the city. Hospitable and friendly Publican, perfect pints of Guinness, great conversation. Food is decent pub fare as well. The real fireplace is great for those heavy, foggy days on this side of town when you want to sit by a fire and have a pint. As others have mentioned, have come by with my dog in tow and was welcomed in. Happy to have Durty Nelly’s as my local.
Andrea Jesse: Though 3 miles from my apartment, I consider Durty Nelly's to be my neighborhood bar. Irishman Odhran has owned and run the the pub for many years and has kept all the original charm of the place. It's a friendly hangout. Come on a Wednesday for Trivia Night. Come back on Thursday for Karaoke. You may hear Odhran himself sing - what a treat. The man can sing!
David Flaherty: irish welding is a pejorative term for fixing the problem with duct tape

Gosia Ozga: One of the best fish and chips I got! The portion was pretty big but it was really so tasty that somehow I manage to eat all! The fish was perfectly friend and juicy inside and the French fries were fried in a point! The service was really nice. The place was costly and quite empty when I was there. If you pass by and you are hungry it is your place!
N “Knickerbocker” Márquez: A coworker told me that she had been checking out British pubs in the city because she was preparing for a trip to England. I thought to myself why I had never thought about looking for a British pub. I am constantly reading all things British. After a hike I stopped by and wow, yes it was absolutely worth it. I absolutely love the Shepard’s pie. I love the ambiance. The bartender was great. I really am looking forward to stopping by again.

Peter Gilgunn: Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name...The staff give this classic pub a personal touch that'll make you feel at home. Long bar, open spaces for watching the footie, and a few wee nooks for those more intimate moments with friends. Highly recommended!
JP Pasteur: Freddie and Valentina were exceptional tonight. Even with a packed bar and only two bar tenders they were so diligent about drinks and service.
