jocelyn jessica jacinto: Great for Group Discussions.Run by Senior Members!

Jocee J: Tibetan Buddhist chanting, walking and sitting meditation.

Jeri Hirvela: Newly renovated to a smaller space, the San Francisco Shambhala Meditation Center is a wonderful place to enjoy meditation and instruction. While many of the center regulars are Buddhist, and there are also Buddhist teachings offered, the primary focus of the center is on the secular practices of meditation, mindfulness, and creating enlightened society. A wonderful place to connect and practice!

Gabriella Sannino: Great space

Janie Lu: Warm, unpretentious, and welcoming. Very cool that some of the instructors worked alongside Pema Chondrom and Trungpa Rinpoche way back when.

Jessica Locke: Wonderful community of practitioners and teachers; lots of programs geared toward relating meditation practice to social benefit. Love this place!

Mina Dadgar: great meditation instruction and community

Erik Irvin: Helpful classes, warm community, and a great space to learn meditation

Ariana Rodriguez: Quaint and cozy buddhist center. Tomoko's quick 45-minute class was lovely and beneficial.

Michael Young (quietD): This place is where I go to get my mind right and to find peace. Please consider going here and checking it out. I know that meditation is hard bit it is worth it. The meditations are practical and the teachings are from the heart. Gen Choma is great and the people there are always happy to see you. Go get some peace.

Lu Bonguardo: An encounter with your inner self and great people. Namaste

Doug Yarn: I like this place. It's the only place where you and I can 'HANDLE' the truth!

Sean Mamola: An oasis of community and tranquility smack dab in the middle of all the chaosAlways leave feeling recharged, mentally refreshed and grateful. Such a treasured hidden little gem of SF.

Maria Carnevale: Having moved from Europe to San Francisco, I am very grateful to have found and be part of this loving and kind community. Everybody is welcome, whether Buddhist or non-Buddhist. The teachings are very practical and have helped me find a meaningful and joyful life.

Justyn Myers: Very lovely and welcoming community. The Buddhist teachings and meditations are very practical and helpful for daily life. The center is very beautiful and peaceful and they offer many different classes for all levels.

Ryan Shay: This center was my first introduction to Buddhism and meditation, and very thankful for it. The resident teacher Gen Choma is an amazing teacher, everyone is welcoming and friendly

Michael O'Shea: love the people here, warm and friendly. Nice to go to a place where the people are practicing what they are teaching x

Cris Azzola: The Kadampa Meditation Center is a beautiful, peaceful space that allows me to take a break out of my busy day to learn mediation skills and practice with friendly people. They create a very welcoming atmosphere, whether you are a novice mediator or long-time practitioner. I enjoy learning about Buddhist practice and have taken a class with Kelsang Shinchok, which was amazing! It helped me deepen my mediation skills and taught me how I can apply ancient Buddhist principles to thrive in the modern world. New classes are constantly being offered and I look forward to exploring more wonderful topics!

Reuben Alvear: Seven years ago I first set foot in KMC SF, and I was instantly soothed by the welcoming, practical and down-to-earth vibe of virtually everyone I met. I have consistently cultivated my meditative practice here because the teachings have an uncanny knack for correlating with things that are currently flowing through my emotional and mental currents.

Tomoko Saeki: . I really love being here, and am so grateful this center exists as my second home.

Antoine Sindhu: KMC is an incredible place. I became interested in meditation a few years ago and tried drop-in meditation classes at several different centers around San Francisco. None of them really resonated with me until I found the Tuesday night class at KMC. It’s a combination of beginner meditation instruction along with a discussion of some aspect of Buddhist teachings, or dharma.Having tried meditation and dharma classes at various places, I can say that KMC is by far the most helpful, at least for me personally. There is little emphasis on ritual or doctrine, and much more emphasis on making everyone feel welcome and accepted, and on simple, accessible, and practical teachings. The regular teacher, Gen Choma, is absolutely amazing – she has a way of presenting the ancient wisdom of Buddhism in a clear, systematic, and completely modern and relatable way. This isn’t a religious sermon for an inward-looking group, this is powerful and practical life advice given in the most open-minded and open-hearted way possible.Perhaps different people want or expect different things out of meditation or Buddhist centers. What I can say for sure is that this center is the absolute best place to go if you are looking for a simple, accessible, and practical way of improving your life and becoming a better person without necessarily going all in on Buddhism, or wholeheartedly embracing all of the mysticism, rituals, and traditions which you may initially find intimidating or obscure. The Tuesday night teachings are always logical and directly applicable to helping you address the daily struggles of life, like building meaningful relationships with other people, dealing with difficult circumstances or people, developing more happiness and joy in your life, etc.And if you want to go further there is a full calendar of events that delve deeper into Buddhist tradition.

Paul Burke: - to receive blessings from that specific Buddha. It is also a great way to learn about the tradition.I look forward to meeting you there!

Kristy Earnest: I Love it here. So convenient and reasonable. Check the schedule for a quick meditation........
