Ariana Rodriguez: Quaint and cozy buddhist center. Tomoko's quick 45-minute class was lovely and beneficial.
Michael Young (quietD): This place is where I go to get my mind right and to find peace. Please consider going here and checking it out. I know that meditation is hard bit it is worth it. The meditations are practical and the teachings are from the heart. Gen Choma is great and the people there are always happy to see you. Go get some peace.
Lu Bonguardo: An encounter with your inner self and great people. Namaste
Doug Yarn: I like this place. It's the only place where you and I can 'HANDLE' the truth!
Sean Mamola: An oasis of community and tranquility smack dab in the middle of all the chaosAlways leave feeling recharged, mentally refreshed and grateful. Such a treasured hidden little gem of SF.
Maria Carnevale: Having moved from Europe to San Francisco, I am very grateful to have found and be part of this loving and kind community. Everybody is welcome, whether Buddhist or non-Buddhist. The teachings are very practical and have helped me find a meaningful and joyful life.
Justyn Myers: Very lovely and welcoming community. The Buddhist teachings and meditations are very practical and helpful for daily life. The center is very beautiful and peaceful and they offer many different classes for all levels.
Ryan Shay: This center was my first introduction to Buddhism and meditation, and very thankful for it. The resident teacher Gen Choma is an amazing teacher, everyone is welcoming and friendly
Michael O'Shea: love the people here, warm and friendly. Nice to go to a place where the people are practicing what they are teaching x
Cris Azzola: The Kadampa Meditation Center is a beautiful, peaceful space that allows me to take a break out of my busy day to learn mediation skills and practice with friendly people. They create a very welcoming atmosphere, whether you are a novice mediator or long-time practitioner. I enjoy learning about Buddhist practice and have taken a class with Kelsang Shinchok, which was amazing! It helped me deepen my mediation skills and taught me how I can apply ancient Buddhist principles to thrive in the modern world. New classes are constantly being offered and I look forward to exploring more wonderful topics!
Reuben Alvear: Seven years ago I first set foot in KMC SF, and I was instantly soothed by the welcoming, practical and down-to-earth vibe of virtually everyone I met. I have consistently cultivated my meditative practice here because the teachings have an uncanny knack for correlating with things that are currently flowing through my emotional and mental currents.
Tomoko Saeki: . I really love being here, and am so grateful this center exists as my second home.
Antoine Sindhu: KMC is an incredible place. I became interested in meditation a few years ago and tried drop-in meditation classes at several different centers around San Francisco. None of them really resonated with me until I found the Tuesday night class at KMC. It’s a combination of beginner meditation instruction along with a discussion of some aspect of Buddhist teachings, or dharma.Having tried meditation and dharma classes at various places, I can say that KMC is by far the most helpful, at least for me personally. There is little emphasis on ritual or doctrine, and much more emphasis on making everyone feel welcome and accepted, and on simple, accessible, and practical teachings. The regular teacher, Gen Choma, is absolutely amazing – she has a way of presenting the ancient wisdom of Buddhism in a clear, systematic, and completely modern and relatable way. This isn’t a religious sermon for an inward-looking group, this is powerful and practical life advice given in the most open-minded and open-hearted way possible.Perhaps different people want or expect different things out of meditation or Buddhist centers. What I can say for sure is that this center is the absolute best place to go if you are looking for a simple, accessible, and practical way of improving your life and becoming a better person without necessarily going all in on Buddhism, or wholeheartedly embracing all of the mysticism, rituals, and traditions which you may initially find intimidating or obscure. The Tuesday night teachings are always logical and directly applicable to helping you address the daily struggles of life, like building meaningful relationships with other people, dealing with difficult circumstances or people, developing more happiness and joy in your life, etc.And if you want to go further there is a full calendar of events that delve deeper into Buddhist tradition.
Paul Burke: - to receive blessings from that specific Buddha. It is also a great way to learn about the tradition.I look forward to meeting you there!
Kristy Earnest: I Love it here. So convenient and reasonable. Check the schedule for a quick meditation........

jocelyn jessica jacinto: Great for Group Discussions.Run by Senior Members!
Jocee J: Tibetan Buddhist chanting, walking and sitting meditation.
Jeri Hirvela: Newly renovated to a smaller space, the San Francisco Shambhala Meditation Center is a wonderful place to enjoy meditation and instruction. While many of the center regulars are Buddhist, and there are also Buddhist teachings offered, the primary focus of the center is on the secular practices of meditation, mindfulness, and creating enlightened society. A wonderful place to connect and practice!
Gabriella Sannino: Great space
Janie Lu: Warm, unpretentious, and welcoming. Very cool that some of the instructors worked alongside Pema Chondrom and Trungpa Rinpoche way back when.
Jessica Locke: Wonderful community of practitioners and teachers; lots of programs geared toward relating meditation practice to social benefit. Love this place!
Mina Dadgar: great meditation instruction and community

Hellen Vital: Gratitude for the method for rescuing me and giving me the opportunity to live a happy and positive life with my family
Aaron C: This meditation has a clear goal and method to achieve that goal. It is a practice that can be challenging but definitely worthwhile. It is no joke when it comes to changing your outlook and world view. I recommend to anyone.
LOVE Lace: is what saved my life. What I like most about this program is that they care. They are definitely invested in our mental health and well being. I have been apart of this program for a few years now and this is the reason I keep coming back. SF Meditation, has been my saving grace.I have been experiencing mental clarity and this was my reason for signing up with this program. It has definitely given me a new outlook on life. I am so happy that I am finally in a good place mentally after so many years of mental turmoil. This method is definitely a God send.
Barry Schaeffer: fault. Already I feel like a huge burden in my mind has been lifted. I am significantly less bothered by things and almost never blame. And I catch myself right away when I do. It is so freeing. This meditation method has been around for years and is a prescriptive method consisting of a series of steps that you work through over the course of 1 or 2 years. Such a method requires guidance. And this is where SF Meditation and its sister centers really excel. In particular in SF, Emily who runs the center is amazing. In addition to my joining group Zoom sessions, I have had individual sessions with Emily both on Zoom and in-person. She has not only personally guided me exceptionally well through this method, but she is an incredible listener and is authentically eager to hear my ‘story’ and make sure the mediation is giving me the most it can.I would highly recommend San Francisco Meditation.
Vivi T: Since starting meditation, I worry less, I am more calm and relaxed. It’s nice to have access to unlimited guided group classes available at different times of the day. I also get to have individual session once a week with my guide. I mostly attend online classes but I also find it helpful to go in person sometimes. We used to have a lot more get togethers with music and food before Covid. After Covid, everyone’s situation has changed but we are slowly bringing the community back together again.
Kamal Hasan: I noticed a difference right away when I joined San Francisco Meditation. I've used several meditations with some success, but none of them compare to the meditation method taught here. I also studied the theory behind spirituality and meditation and this method fits perfectly with all the spiritual concepts and the science of it. It puts together all the necessary requirements for ego-dissolution and consolidates it into a single method. I am very satisfied so far with the results of it, and it exceeded beyond my expectations by far.
arielle siem: Before SF meditation I began developing high levels of stress and anxiety. I’m so lucky I found this effective method of meditation that has forever changed my life. In addition to alleviating the stress and anxiety that I was experiencing, this practice has improved my relationships, promoted inner peace, and enables me to live with present and grateful mindset.
Nicte Gon: Emily is a very nice and dedicated guide. Her sessions are comforting. She explains and guides the meditation in such a simple way, that is very easy to follow. I would encourage you to try the meditation method practiced at San Francisco Meditation. It is a very effective method that really allows you to let go and heal from the inside out.
aarush: I started meditation in late August 2021. Since that time, a lot has improved. Not only did I rise up the levels but I improved as a person. I became more calm and kind and I am able to focus much better in academics and sports.
Saumya Shrestha: I think that meditation has helped me control my anger a lot more than before. Meditation has also made me feel happier than before. I think of meditation as a time of reflecting on my life and improving how I live and what I think. At first when my mom did it, I thought it was a waste of time but then my aunt asked me if I wanted to try it. I said ok and I tried it a few times and I started to enjoy it.I think this meditation will help anyone like it helped me.
Lois Dunning: San Francisco Meditation is a little known gem situated in Daly City. With the pandemic, along with in-person classes, the majority of the classes are offered online. The meditation guides are very friendly and caring. For a reasonable monthly fee, I have access to daily meditation sessions, both group and individual sessions. The meditation technique practiced here not only helps deal with stress and worry, but it also changed the way I look at the world. Even with online classes, there is still a strong sense of community among the members. I feel very lucky to have discovered this meditation center.
Roman Muller: Before meditation I was self centered, impatient, and not a very happy person. After meditating for some time , I became much more patient with my family and friends. Most importantly , my son. If you want to change your life, you have to change your mind first. This is the best place to do that. Your mindset will improve from negative to positive and so will your life. I highly recommend.
Liv Hua: The dedicated meditation experts at SF Meditation have helped me bring greater peace of mind, better sleep and more productivity to my life. The fees are quite accessible and the guides are incredibly committed--they walk with you the entire way. I've been doing mindfulness meditation off and on for a decade and have not experienced these kinds of outcomes. I'd say the approach is closer to philosophical stoicism than to yoga mindfulness breath meditation. By that, I mean that the meditation helps you to experience oneness with "what is" by letting go of your own preconceived notions, reactions to, and expectations of what "ought to be". It took some time to get used to and I may not have stuck with it were it not for the fact that it was originally gifted to me. Now that I have, I feel incredibly grateful and fortunate to have encountered them. Finding SF Meditation is definitely one of the silver linings of my pandemic lock down.
Melissa Marie Gamble (Madamdoodles): I'm so greatful for finding a post on Quora by Brandon Oh, about how to over come depression & anxiety. When reading his experience it was like describing what I go through word for word. So I reached out to him & he introduced me the the San Francisco Meditation Center & he stuck with me & continued to keep in touch with me while I was going thru a really hard time struggling with depression & anxiety when I started doing the meditation course I met alot of really awesome members, very supportive and honestly I've learned on how to let go of things judgement, anxiety, habits just my life is alot more calmer & I'm more calmer & it has really made a difference in my life & my family.. I wanna say thank you to Brandon for being so supportive & patient & not giving up on me & thank you to his wife & the members that have been working along the side with me & so supportive it just really means alot thank you so muchMelissa Gamble
Audrow Nash: Positive Communication, Quality, Professionalism
Yushun Jo: This guided meditation is great. I had to fight negative thoughts mostly at night. However, I am not holding onto these stresses anymore because of these sessions. Won and Pralima always help me, I feel very warm and welcome and the online sessions are easy to follow. I highly recommend it!
성지윤: This meditation has really helped me overcome a lot of my negativity - something that I wasn't even aware that I had so much of before. Simple to practice, guides are encouraging and kind
Leema Shrestha: I have been meditating since 2017. This meditation method has helped me discover myself and be better every day.I was not so easy person by nature and I used to feel superior, but now I am able to give up my ego. My mind is very simple now.I was not aware of my body system so I was mostly sick, but these days I know how to keep myself fit and healthy by following certain food habits.I understand my husband better and he is my best friend now.I was not so easy with my in-laws as I had lots of grudges towards them but now I am friendly with them and love them.I used to take all the negative things from what people said to me and tried to act the same way but these days I try to look from their perspective and deal with them nicely.I try to be as humble, generous and helpful to people as possible and people compliment me as an encourager.THANK You very much San Francisco Meditation for helping me cleanse my mind and renew myself.
Maricar G: The saying “when the student is ready the teacher will appear” certainly holds true for me. I have been thinking about meditation and discovering the San Francisco Meditation center ten weeks ago changed my life. I experience a huge reduction in stress, worry and mind chatter, I feel more present at a given moment, and I just feel more peace. I am in awe of this practice because I feel like a different person in mind and spirit, and I truly love what I am becoming. The teachers of San Francisco Meditation are caring, genuine and their love of the practice shines through. The center is always very clean, comfortable and very welcoming.
