Masaye: You Do Not Need to Live With Your "Bad Back!"I never thought I would take weekly reformer Pilate. I was a cheap-as-possible gym membership person. When I switched from standing to desk work, I developed horrific back pain. I was seeing a great chiropractor, but my back would still go into spasms. During a spasm so bad I considered calling 911, I decided enough is enough: I needed to strengthen my core.I went to Mauricio at Pilates SF, the studio with the cute bull dogs. He is a true Healer. Like a miracle, I no longer have back spasms. He has taught me how to stretch and works out muscles I didn't know I had. Yes it is an investment but back surgery one day would be a lot more expensive and not the road I want to go down. If you have back issues, I urge you to go to Pilates Vita SF. The staff co-owner Greg, Scarlett Maya are outstanding and truly listen and cater to your specific needs.Over 18 months later I still go to Pilates Vita SF as an important part of my wellness. As anyone who's suffered pain knows, health is wealth. Invest in your vessel: your one and only body at this amazing, healing place.

Those of us Pilates enthusiasts know that a regular pilates practice is wellness strengthening and expanding, quality-of-life building, challenging, fun, invigorating, and research-backed. Now, add: I'm an enthusiast of Pilates Vita, specifically. Mauricio and Greg are the originators of Pilates Vita SF. Their years of experience, warmth, dedication to whole health, intuitiveness, skill and flexibility in planning for each person's needs make it a rich time spent! Besides Mauricio, more regularly working with Maya, a true wizard of extraordinary expertise about the human body and movement. For example, she has known how to safely integrate the types of movements that signal my injured hand/arm to gain function. After seven years post-accident and still struggling, this was an iconic happening that has allowed me to clap again. Maya has the keys to full-body strength/balance building and maintaining. The sessions are worked and reworked according to where you are and where you want to be. Plus, Maya's input gives you the bigger realistic picture on how to sustainably get there. It's a blast to be challenged by new sequence combinations. There's an are infectious calm, positivity, and enthusiasm about all that's possible in one-to-one Pilates; and I'm an example in my full lifestyle. Add Gaston and Zander, Mauricio and Greg's Bulldog sons; and, for sure, your cheeks will tire from smiling at the cuteness. Pilates Vita is not just a one-to-one session. Maya and Mauricio have helped me take from their whole wellness environment and integrate it into my daily life. Stay consistent with Pilates here and you'll experience its consistent staying power!

Crickette Brown Glad: Maya is an incredible Pilates instructor! She is what I call a “bodyoligist” and can target specific muscle groups to strengthen them. She is helping me build muscles to support better posture. I’ve been doing Pilates for 24 years and she is by far, the best instructor ever!

Knives Chao: Over the past four months I’ve consistently taken private classes w/ Mauricio, Greg, and recently Lena. They each have their own style of teaching, but they all observe good form, and intuitively challenge my physical limitations🙏🏾. At first I attended classes 2x/week, but have increased to 3x/week. To me, it is very clear that my body is getting stronger, more flexible, and increasingly relieved from pain and muscle imbalances. He’s really good about catering and personalizing each session to my needs and is always great about checking in on my back condition after sessions too. I'd done physical therapy with 2 other providers without much benefit, but improved significantly after just a month of treatment with Justin. wanda leonard: If you need to get out of pain as well as strengthen any injured part of your body then I recommend Justin. Not only is he a great trainer but he has extensive training of anatomy. I have frozen shoulder and by the time I leave the session my arm has more range and my back is getting so much stronger as well as the rest is my body. I always look forward to my session’s.

Dennis Rice: Fantastic workout, knows how to work on my problem areas. Always walk away knowing I'll feel it the next day but in a good way. I’m able to keep going to session working my body and staying fit through injuries, pulls and strains, as Justin can workaround any problem and improve recovery time at the same time.

Nicole Lim: Justin is hands down my favorite instructor. He is thoughtful, attentive and intuitive. He works with what is going on with your body, rather than what should be happening with your body. He is also incredibly knowledgeable and creative - if working this muscle in this way is not the best for you, he will find another way that is better and safer. He is also patient, which is great for someone like me, who wants to rush through things, or impatient to achieve a certain level. He helps me get to where I want to go without pushing my body beyond its limits. You could say that sometimes he’s more in tune with my body than I am!

Grace Song: I learned that subtle minor muscles in my body weren’t firing properly and Justin got me back on track with the crazy Nordic pulleys, levers, and contraptions he uses. I think he’s one of the only people certified in the US with this method!He’s also very kind, checks in on his clients after every session, and is very detail-oriented to make sure you’re getting the best possible result in every session.Life changing and highly recommend!!

Amy Monroe: I was looking to supplement traditional physical therapy with additional strengthening but needed to find someone who could work around my recently dislocated knee. Enter Justin and Redcord - the perfect solution. If you've never heard of Redcord, well, neither had I, but let me tell you it is awesome! Justin has been able to make me stronger while working around my injury safely and without any pain. I've seen great results in a relatively short period of time. Plus, Justin is really kind. I am not athletic and was initially worried I wasn't going to be any "good" at this, but Justin always makes me feel like I am capable and motivates me to keep getting stronger every session. I'd give him 6 stars if I could!

I came in not knowing how to use a reformer but the instructors took time to teach me, which was greatly appreciated. Additionally, the small class sizes are great because you do get a lot of attention from the instructors who can help correct form. Overall, would recommend attending classes here!

Rosa Wan: My favorite aspect of this studio is its small class sizes -- meaning attentive instructors, manageable pace, and focus on form and safety. I'm personally more drawn to a relaxed, chilled-out vibe than a charged workout, so if you also feel this way, this studio's your best bet!

Sara Walsh: classes and reformer only classes and they have both been an excellent workout. Don't worry about classes being too challenging if you are new, they ask you about your skill level and background before the class and while the classes have kicked my butt they haven't felt outside of my skillset at all. I've only done evening classes with Lauren and she has been wonderful! I've been doing pilates for a couple years now and needed a good studio while I was in town for a couple weeks and Mercury has fit the bill! I would go here regularly if I lived in the area.

Mariette Lapiz: David is an amazing instructor. I’ve been taking classes and private sessions with him for the last five years. He’s extremely knowledgeable, and encourages and pushes me to go beyond my comfort zone. His classes are challenging and fun, and his private sessions have allowed me to advance and deepen my pilates practice. David always provides a great workout that challenges my body and my mind.

Shams Zakhour: We continued with remote classes, twice a week, for over a year. Eventually, I was able to go in person again. I now go twice a week, for 2 hours total.It has been a life changing experience! My core is now SO much stronger. I remember one day, after I'd been going for some months, I was lying on my sofa, thinking that my underwear was too tight. Then I realized I wasn't wearing any and that I was feeling MUSCLES in my abs. That was a first in my entire life and I'm 63!What is *best* about the teachers there, is that they really know how to work with your individual needs. At 63, I have all sorts of issues to work around

Cheryl Larsen: The Pilates Story studio is first rate. Clean, fresh, professional, fantastic energy, a community resource. Hye-Yeon, the owner, is a true healer. Intuitive and patient, she understands what chronic pain can do to a person and how to partner with her clients to help them strengthen and improve their ability to move. She is always learning and growing, bringing everything she learns back to her work. I'm grateful to have found her.

Adrian Chew: I’ve been having private Pilates classes with Hye-Yeon, the owner of Pilates studio for a couple of years. I like the private classes as you can work on any particular issues that you have. I’m kind of intermediate and Hye-Yeon guides me well. We also talk about life the universe and everything, and our both Sci Fi fans, so we have plenty of fun conversations. The studio is well set up, with all the equipment you need, and is well located in West Portal. I would definitely recommend doing Pilates here!

Shedrack Anderson: Beautiful studio and love their variety of classes. Right in the heart of San Fran with awesome instructors.

Gavin Freeman: Maiden Lane has a warm feel as soon as you walk in. All the instructors are very well trained and knowledgeable. Also, the studio was very accommodating to me when I needed a refund for some classes due to a personal reason. Would highly recommend to anybody living in or visiting SF.

Lisa K.: Very nice feel, a friendly place. The workout was exceptionally good, the teacher -professional and funny. Level of cleanliness very high in comparison to otter things in town. No shower, but they provide small towel and lockers

McKenna Brown: The classes at Maiden Lane are by far my favorite work out, EVER. I absolutely love how the instructors at the studio teach the classes! I am now located in Los Angeles and I cannot find a barre class like theirs. My favorite class was the booty bar class and I loved how much time we spent on the bar, it seems like every other class I have taken is mostly floor work. You will not be disappointed if you take any class at this studio. Everyone is so welcoming and helpful.

Cynthia Wisehart: . I was greeted by Ramona, who swiftly adjusted to my unorthodox appearance and request. Yes, actually she could do a private right then. I'm pretty much a beginner, I have never taken a private, and she adapted almost immediately--spontaneously creating a teaching experience out of thin air. I got so much out of it! I came away with some critical clarifications that I have used every day since and which have pushed me forward in ways I could not have imagined. I'm grateful she went with the moment, and also grateful for the choices she made in how she saw me, and what she corrected and communicated. Seems like a quality place with a sincere mission.

Dark Army: Not only is this place totally gorgeous, the instruction bang on, but they're just nice peeps. I visit them for Pilates and fascial stretch therapy every time in town.

Rachel Lamas: Wonderful time at booty barre. I was amazed at how much of a workout it was. My prior experience with bar method was that the workout just wasn't enough, so I was very happy with booty barre.The studio is amazingly beautiful. I've never seen one this elegant and cool. Great job who ever designed it. The location could not be better in the heart of Union Square on the cutest street in the city, Maiden Lane.
