Casey Patterson: Extremely kind and clean gym. I am a white belt woman, in town for a conference, and decided to visit a new gym for the first time. I’m so glad I chose Professor Melo’s gym! Nicest people, great instruction, and I was able to safely roll with men and women of all levels.Thank you to Professor Melo and those who train here! Appreciate the welcoming culture!

Krishin Asnani: I glance at this place when I stand opposite it on Pacific Avenue waiting for Bus 12 to arrive ; children wrapped in in white kimonos practicing their chops; tutors supervising with a black sash around their kimono. It’s like watching men walking on the moon ; If their teeth get knocked out, there is dental place next to it . Love the word jiu- jitsu which I need to use more often;Love the scenes on Pacific avenue around this place

Alex P: I've been training here for almost a year now and it's been a really amazing experience. The community is very welcoming and supportive. Everyone trains with everyone. People are pretty laid back, but also take their training seriously. Romulo is extremely passionate about the sport and cares deeply about the safety and success of all his students. He continues to compete and further develop his technique alongside us, which we all benefit from as the sport evolves. The gym is almost always open even through the holidays and on the days classes are canceled we often have open mat. The gym also offers a free trial class to try it out without committing. As a woman it can be tough training in a male heavy sport and while there is a solid group of women training here right now, I really appreciate the men that have been friendly, welcoming, and supportive of my growth. The women that train here are some of the most amazing and passionate individuals. We laugh a lot and also push each other to grow. This gym is one of the few places where I feel that I can really be myself in every way. And I almost always feel better after training.Definitely recommend trying out Romulo Melo BJJ.

Alex Donado Tejera: Amazing place, amazing people and of course AMAZING coach!!

Paulo Fernandes: "Romulo Melo Jiu-Jitsu isn't just a place to learn martial arts; it's a family. From the moment I joined, I found a warm, welcoming community of friends and fellow enthusiasts. The atmosphere is professional, yet incredibly supportive. The training is top-notch, with techniques that are pure and authentic, straight from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Romulo himself is the real deal, bringing a high level of expertise and passion to the mat. It's a place you'll want to keep coming back to. Highly recommend for anyone looking to dive into Jiu-Jitsu!"

Jarrett Lucero: and one thing that stands out about training at Romulo’s is knowing you will consistently get some of the best training in CA every single day. From the moment you walk in, you feel at ease. The mats are clean, the people are friendly and helpful, and Romulo always greets you with a big smile and a handshake. He is a master of his craft and explains things very clearly until you understand.Regardless of your level, gi vs no gi, age, etc., all are welcome here. So if you’re ever near the city, come train with us! Oss!

Aria Saberi: Romulo and his family are the most welcoming, caring, and dedicated people around. Have personally travelled with him to Rio De Janeiro and trained with him at the gym - a high level coach + competitor and just a fantastic person overall!

Richie Miller: I'm a new blue belt and I stopped in for an open mat session over Thanksgiving holiday. This was my first time visiting a new gym. From the moment I walked through the door the vibe was relaxed and welcoming. The gym was clean with plenty of space to roll. Overall, I had a great experience at Romulo Melo BJJ and I highly recommend checking it out if your looking for a welcoming and supportive BJJ gym.

David Head: Great gym. Feels like a family!

Aashita Patwari: This gym made me feel very welcome when I was new to the city, and it has been amazing training with Romulo and the rest of the people in the gym. Romulo is always encouraging and welcoming and I have made some lifelong friends through the academy. I would recommend it to anyone starting or continuing their BJJ journey

Brandon Goodrich: I recently took a trip to Brazil to train bjj with Romulo and his team. They were all amazing and the trip exceeded my expectations. Amazing coach and guide to his beautiful city of rio.

Austin J Day: RMBJJ is the best jiu jitsu in the city. Top tier coaching and environment for all levels of athletes and intensity. My favorite part about SF.

Matt Ish: Romulo is a great teacher and very personable. He and his students are always hospitable and welcoming everytime I'm in town and visit, I consider it my home-away-from-home gym.

Angela Lindow: I was visiting SF and reached out to Romulo about a drop in class. Ended up dropping in twice and everyone was so incredibly nice, welcoming and helpful!

Lawrence Arevalo: My family and I have been coming to Colhado for about 4 years now. The community at Colhado is great. Lots of fun, respectful people that like to roll hard. Lots of respect for each person and great instruction from Professor Matheus, Coach Jeff, and the rest of the black belts at Colhado. Our kids have also learned so much over the last few years and their confidence shows!

Max Souza: I would like to express my sincere appreciation for this wonderful jiu-jitsu community. It undoubtedly stands out as one of the finest in the city of San Francisco. The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming, and the instructors are highly skilled and dedicated. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking an exceptional place to train and forge meaningful friendships.

marcos tirox: The best teacher

Izra777: I’ve being training for years and it’s one of my favorite places to go for self improvement

Micah Dulak: Great gym, friendly atmosphere, really good instruction. Whether you're looking to get in shape, learn self defense or have ambitions to start competing in jiu jitsu - this is a great place to train.

The Messy Monkey Family Channel: I feel so gratefull that I was introduced to jiu jitsu through professor Matheus Colhado, my JiuJitsu is awesome ☺️ and I feel strong and confident… The Colhado Gym community is very friendly!!

Alex Nguyen: I dropped in for a few weeks during a recent trip to SF. I was impressed by the degree of hands-on training and welcoming atmosphere. Matheus Colhado and his team, in addition to being highly skilled and accomplished, are some of the most approachable and down to earth people I’ve met. The mats are clean and street parking is surprisingly easy to find. Whether you’re starting BJJ or looking to improve your existing game, I would highly recommend checking out this gym.

Marty K: I started training BJJ under Coach Matheus back in 2017. From the very beginning I was greeted with a warm welcome not just from Matheus, but all the other long standing black belts and training partners. The coaching is top level and the atmosphere that’s been built there is geared towards developing the beginners as opposed to focusing solely on the colored belts. It has a nice mix of males and females with females only classes held weekly. This is also a great place to take your kids and give them the benefits of BJJ with the multiple lessons scheduled during the week. The jiu jitsu is top level, and you will leave each class on a high whether you spent the night getting tapped or caught a submission or two during the 30 mins of open mat at the end of each class.I have since relocated but I visit SF on an annual basis, and will always pay my first BJJ gym a visit to relish the same experience I had from the day I first started training there.Start your BJJ journey at Colhado BJJ, San Francisco, or make a switch to here if you want fun, friendship, a warm embrace and top level jiu jitsu served to you every time you walk through the front door.

Josh Bloom: My kids were training here while I was training elsewhere. After feeling the vibe at Colhado, I happily switched gyms myself and now I train here as much as I can.Matheus is a great instructor, he teaches the fundamentals and sprinkles in fun and exciting challenges, positional sparring, flow rolls, etc to keep you guessing and to keep training exciting. There's a really great crew of people here, all body types and skill levels, so come on by and learn something.

Sean Higginbottom: , has become something that has had a profound effect on my life.I was encouraged by my wife to try Jiu-Jitsu, and even though she hadn't gone to Colhado's at the time, her experience at her previous academy and what she heard/read about Colhado made her direct me here. Since then I have become the strongest I have ever been physically and mentally. I've been surrounded by amazing people with positive and supportive attitudes that encourage cyclical growth among us. And I have achieved what I wouldn't have imagined possible for myself.I am still a white belt at the time of writing this review, but have won 3 gold, and 1 silver medals through the World League tournaments. My wife now also attends Colhado's and competes alongside me. It has been a new bonding experience for us and I love it!I encourage anyone that wants to try Jiu-Jitsu to come here. We can help you grow just like everyone else continues to do for me.

Giovanna Martinez: Profesor Matheus is like no other, his classes are always fun, always learning something new, the most important thing for me as female is feeling safe and confident, training at Colhado provides that, love the sense of community and positive attitude of everyone, super friendly place, no bad energy, come and join us!

Frisco Ninja: teach us yoga for improved mobility. As a Father , as a Husband , as a working professional....it’s imperative to learn self defense and empower yourself - Brazilian Jiu Jitsu can be that vehicle. You’ve heard about it. You’ve read about it. You’ve seen it in the Mix Martial Arts

karmbir chima: I have been training with Matheus since 2014. After being in the jiu jitsu community for as long as I have, being comfortable in the gym is the most thing. This place provides that. This gym is welcoming and does not have a toxic atmosphere. You will find a good mix of people who have different motivations. If you are a weekend warrior who is looking to stay in shape or if you want to prepare for a tournament this is a great place to do that.

Alan Ng: I've been training at Colhado for the last 3 or so years. I've definitely seen improvement in my overall BJJ game. Its definitely a very welcoming place to be. The other classmates and Professor Matteus is very positive and uplifting. The school does host bbqs, picnics, and have charity fundraising events here and there. There is a sense of family and comradery training at this school.

Liliana Buitrago: are great people, it's a big family where you can feel like home. They are very professional, and well trained to teach you and support you, I've grown as a person here and that makes me very happy.I've trained in other places and i definitely can say that this is a high level academy, i've learned so much, and i'm so grateful for it.They are also amazing with the kids, my host kid is training there too, and he loves it, he has a lot of fun while he is learning all the different techniques, they are really good with the kids and adults.Highly recommended !!!!

corey moore: Wonderful place with great instructors. My son experienced some bullying at school before he started Jiu Jitsu now he protects his friends. I’m so greatful I can’t recommend this place enough.

Adriano Pappalardo: A cultural Experience you must try...It's not easy to find a high level gym that is also fun and pleasant.I enjoy visiting different gyms and its not easy to find a very difficult bunch of roles that you walk away from 'happily defeated'...I'm a half decent blue belt and I found some lady-blues that tied me up into a pretzel, so this tells me that the level is great, BUT it was never a bad energy tap or roll. The members seem to all be cultivated to have a real pleasant rolling nature even in their high level= this is very rare to find!No egos, all positives! The owner of the gym must be commended on creating a really great culture.I'm big on hygiene and it looks like they clean the mats before every class as its spotless and smells good. There is sanitizer all over, plasters and pretty much everything the germaphobe in you might need...It's not only the best gym in the world that I've experienced this far, but a real experience of authentic Brazilian Martial Arts culture, that has become a part of the San Francisco experiences you need to try.

Bernice Fan: An overdue review. Truly an incredible environment Travis has created at this gym.I was terrified starting BJJ because of the high risk for injury, but I learned to feel comfortable in the sport with Travis’s skillful teaching and patience. A very welcoming environment with dedicated athletes who are both beginners and veterans of the sport. A gem that prioritizes BJJ and community rather than a business trying to suck your money such as some other places i’ve been at.

Elijah Wright: One of the best gyms I’ve trained at. Travis is a very knowledgeable and technical teacher who has helped me improvise my jiu Jitsu game. Great gym for drop ins.

George Winer: Best NoGi bjj instruction in San Francisco. The owner Travis has created a great community, helping students improve their skill, while providing support. As a beginner- and newbie to the city, I’ve been grateful for my experiences at Magalit BJJ.

Colin Jackson: This place is great. Travis was super nice and accomodated me dropping in on his class. He taught a great passing to sub series and offered some really unique details. It was great to to meet his team and catch some live rolls.Highly reccomend and will definelty stop in next time I'm in town.

Chad D: Stopped in for a class while I was in town for work. Travis was very welcoming and accommodating. He taught a fun class with great attentiveness while providing awesome details on the techniques we were drilling. His students were friendly, technical, and fun to roll with. Will always be a stop whenever I am in town and I encourage others to check this place out whether they are locals looking to get into jiu jitsu or practitioners just visiting town.

Dylan McD: Dropped in here on a layover and it was nothing but a pleasure. Travis reached out personally after I inquired online and had no issues with me dropping in. The group of guys were nothing but accommodating and overall great vibe to the gym. I highly recommend checking them out if you live in the SF area.

Zachary Swan: Great place, great community, and great instructors! Both my son and I attend this school and have absolutely loved it!

Krishtof Korda: I had a great experience training at Magalit Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with head instructor Travis Magalit while traveling in SF. The facilities are excellent, and Travis is an experienced and patient teacher who cares about his students' progress. What stood out to me was the welcoming community he's created, and I was grateful that Travis allowed me to join in, even as a drop-in student. His students are all wonderfully experienced and respectful practitioners and made me feel at home in their gym. I'm looking forward to training with them the next time I'm in the City. Go check them out today!

Jeanie Portus: Enjoyed watching the discipline and character building of the children.

J V: For any beginners on the fence about making the commitment whether it’s the fear of being injured, the technique might be too complicated, or it’s just intimidating to put yourself out there I can promise you that the environment is very safe and friendly. Before training at Magalit BJJ, I had no experience in BJJ but I had goals in mind being that I wanted to learn the ground game and possibly even compete one day. After having my first class with Travis and talking with him about my goals, he has been able to help me get closer to hitting those goals and become more knowledgeable about the martial art.The gym is full of students that want to be there and learn, some for competition, some for fitness, and some just to keep themselves active. Although everyone has there own reason for being there, the community as a whole is very uplifting by helping each other to better themselves, ego doesn’t really have a space here. Both Travis and Junior are knowledgeable instructors who not only have competition experience but are passionate about what they do, showing real care in their students. When teaching techniques, you’ll find them both breaking down a move throughout the week only to find that the next week builds off the previous weeks move. During the actual drilling portion of the class, you’ll find them both walking around the class answering questions, offering advice, and even showing more advanced techniques that might support that students game better. With all that said I can’t say how much I regret not starting sooner, Magalit BJJ is a great gym for those just starting or returning to the art!

Renee Kolb: , and the people skills to meet folks where they’re at regardless of their goals. While there is a large group of competitors training here, there are also a lot of people who come for fitness/self-defense/fun.The group dodges a lot of the toxic hierarchical structures a lot of martial arts groups seem to fall victim to. People of all skill levels train together and share techniques and the feeling of helping each other improve is far more common than petty competitiveness or power dynamics between teammates.I never felt unsafe or belittled here due to my gender

kevin do: Highly recommend Magalit BJJ for anyone wanting to learn the martial art. Travis welcomes all beginners and veteran practioners alike.I joined in Fall 2021 as a complete beginner and loved it. All the students and instructors are constantly supportive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Every class is catered to all levels. He will demonstrate a move for beginners to practice and will continue adding important details for intermediate and advanced levels. He wants everyone to learn Jiu jistu and will answer every question in detail even if it takes more time.I really enjoyed the live rolls towards the end of each class. He looks out for everyone's safety and offers pointers when rolling with others. Also, he would adjust to your skill level when you roll with him. I found myself learning quickly when rolling with all different types of people. If you're on the fence about learning BJJ, Travis is your man!!

Kenneth Jenq: attends twice a week: he's consistently built his discipline and ability to learn here.

Pedro Arrigoni: Excellent place to train Jiu Jitsu! Travis is a very knowledgeable trainer and loves what he does. Lucky for those who have the opportunity to learn from him!

Celeste Bean: is a fantastic coach who's managed to cultivate a team that approaches BJJ is a very joyful way. People are excited to collaborate, practice new things, and train without ego. The atmosphere is very safe, and the coaching and other students are top notch. Really glad to have found this spot.

Bryce M: Great instructors and a friendly community. Very welcoming to jiu jitsu newbies like me

Han Tran: I’ve been training here for almost 2 years and have been enjoying being a part of the community Victor, Lucio, Nayo, and Mascara have built. They are high skilled and knowledgeable instructors.Additionally, the students who train here are talented and have a strong sense of sportsmanship!Highly recommend anyone to join.

Bryan Huang: I credit Alliance with kicking off a long term desire to practice jiu-jitsu. I was in search of a new hobby around a year ago and immediately found a passion in learning the art.Classes are challenging and sometimes difficult, but my fellow students have truly pushed me to try to get better little by little every day and I appreciate that the gym has cultivated a culture that fosters continuous improvement

DeMauriae Gregory: Simply put, Alliance SF is excellent!Lucio and Victor are incredibly knowledgeable, and their curriculum is very methodical. I enjoy how they dive deep into the techniques. It never feels like I’m just learning a bunch of random techniques. Their curriculum has a particular flow, which makes the experience of learning BJJ much more fun and interesting. The gym itself is always clean. The mats, the changing room, and the waiting area are well-kept.What I value the most about Alliance SF is the camaraderie. Everyone is so nice and willing to help—professors and students alike.I highly recommend checking out Alliance SF for anyone looking to start learning BJJ.

Miguel Bernadin: Great school, professors and students! The of the best BJJ school in the bay area.

Minny Le Nguyen: I was a little shy in my first week of training because of my size I’m pretty much pretty small compared to everybody else. But the more I train here the more I love Jiujitsu! The instructors Lucio, Victor, Mascara and Nayo are super technical and kind! I love the friendly environment and thats always something I would look for the most in a dojo. The more I come the more I train the more this gym makes me feel like my second home! The people here understands I am smaller so they’ve been helping me a lot and I couldn’t be more thankful for that and I have definitely improved. Highly recommend this gym for anyone who has intentions of starting Brazilian jiujitsu!

Keny: best gym I've ever trained in in my life, the cleanest I've ever trained in 👊👊

Raphaela Cavalcanti: The best BJJ academy in SF! Excellent teachers and classes. I recommend it to all my friends.

Claudia Martinelli Cavalcanti: Excellent teachers, clean gym, caring professionals

Ana Grasel: I've been training at Alliance for over 4 months now, and I couldn't be more satisfied! I felt very welcome since the first day. The instructors are amazing—attentive, thoughtful, and dedicated to make sure students are learning while having a good time. The vibe on the mat is very positive!everyone is very friendly, and students are encouraged to help each other which creates a collaborative and inclusive environment. The mat is very clean, and they have a well-organized space. I started with Alliance because a good girlfriend told me about them and now I've been telling other women because I know it's hard to find a place where you can train feeling safe and comfortable. Alliance is definitely that place, and I'm very happy to be a part of it. My experience has been amazing, and I'm excited to keep training and improving my BJJ skills with them ◡̈

Calvin Wang: I have been doing jiu jitsu here for almost half a year. The instructors are very knowledgeable and good at teaching. Other students here are also friendly and helpful. In my personal experience, this gym is a very good fit for beginners to jiu jitsu.

Stevan Rodjali: My time at Alliance BJJ San Francisco was short but a very memorable one.I’ve spent a few years in different martial arts and dabbled in grappling before deciding to finally focus on jiu-jitsu exclusively. I tried out in different academies before eventually trying out at Alliance BJJ San Francisco. From the beginning of my trial class, I could tell that Alliance BJJ San Francisco was different. The instructors, Victor and Lucio, were very structual and cohesive in teaching the gentle art of jiu-jitsu. Every instructions were clear — every micromovements and details were explained in a very organized detailed, but simple breakdown. The culture of the gym was also something that I feel another thing a lot of places may have overlooked, but was very well cultivated by Victor and Lucio. Everyone was friendly and respectful. Whether your goals were just to get in shape, to have fun or even as serious as to compete, we were a solid team. And nobody was excluded from anything.I eventually had to leave because I had to move back to my country. I sure hope one day I can revisit Alliance BJJ San Francisco and see everyone again.

Kirill Avery: bjj at alliance is one of the best things that happened to me in my life. personal shoutout to Victor with his guidance

Philip M: I started at Alliance BJJ SF In July 2021. I was a student there until March 2024 when I left SF.I loved it, Victor, Lucio, Mascara and Nayo are welcoming and always have time for everyone. They all adapt their teaching style depending on what the student needs in that moment which is impressive.I started off with zero experience and with time, hard work and ALOT of help I was awarded my blue belt.Getting to Blue belt was my first goal in BJJ, but the journey, working with the coaches and meeting other students was the highlight for me.The environment is very special. There's people who are hobbyists and those who compete but everyone learns from one another and there are no egos at all.You will be very welcomed by students and coaches alike and the coaching you will receive, no matter your goal will be second to none. One of the best things I have done was join Alliance BJJ SF.Give it a try, you won't regret it!

Josh Wright: Great place to train - friendly, patient and fun instructors in a great location.Highly recommend the free 1-1 intro class!

Austin: I trained with Alliance SF for 6 months, going from my first Jiu Jitsu class to competing in my first tournament. The experience was fantastic.A tight knit community, top of the line instruction, and willingness from all fellow students and professors to help improve my game. The team was very open to supporting me as a beginner and quickly helped me ramp up to more advanced instruction—I would highly recommend Alliance SF to anyone looking for a gym in SF.

Joe Nefkens: I travel a lot for work and train all over. I can confidently say that the instruction at Alliance SF is second to none. If looking to train in San Francisco, Alliance SF should be a no brainer.

Amir Babaei: Very Skilled and knowledgeable instructors. Great and respectful crowd. The cleanest gym I have experienced.

joseph silva: Amazing learning environment, everyone is so welcoming and helpful!

John Cantu: I have been training at Alliance SF for about a year now, and I can confidently say that it has been an incredible experience. The instructors are knowledgeable, approachable, and dedicated to helping students improve their skills. The atmosphere at the gym is welcoming and inclusive, making it a great place for both beginners and experienced practitioners to train.I have seen significant progress in my BJJ techniques and overall fitness since joining the gym. The classes are well-structured, challenging, and fun, providing a great balance of technique drilling, sparring, and conditioning. The camaraderie among the students creates a supportive and motivating environment that encourages growth and learning.I appreciate the emphasis on technique, discipline, and respect that the gym instills in its students. The facilities are clean and well-maintained, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Alliance to anyone looking to start their BJJ journey or continue their training at a top-notch facility.Thank you to the instructors at Alliance for creating such a positive and enriching training environment. I look forward to continuing my BJJ journey at this exceptional gym.

Michael Makarov: Amazing jiu jitsu school and the community. Recommend 100%.

SurvivalBayArea: I trained under Denny for something like 18 months ish and only left due to location. I love this school. On any given day you will receive very high level instruction, very effective jiu jitsu, compatible in the constantly changing modern jiu jitsu world. While I was there I trained kettle bells and gained 10 lbs of muscle. GAIIINS son!!! Last but not least Denny is a really, really fun guy and he cares deeply about his students Jimmy is also hilarious. Osssssssss

Ralph Baptista: Excellent Place to Roll, dropped in while on holiday, Denny and his team very welcoming. Recommend

Stefan Belanov: Dropped in for 2 classes during my vacation in San Francisco. Denny was very welcoming and all the guys there were very friendly. Denny is not only a very experienced grappler, he also teaches jiu jitsu with passion in a very pedagogical way. I will definitely visit again when i come back to San Fransisco!

Christopher Charles: Amazing!!!

Amanda Wilson: This is a good school and the owner, Kasey, has a positive outlook on life as well as a good understanding of how to properly deal with children. His daughter often helps out with the younger children as well. She is a patient and quick to smile. Both Coach Noel and Coach Andrew are very knowledgeable and highly skilled in JiuJitsu. If you have concerns or complaints I would encourage you directly contact the owner Kasey. Most likely he's already working on it.

Michael Palladino: A great school with a great vibe. I dropped by here this past June when I was in San Fran for a few days. Recently, I was back in San Fran for a tournament and ran into a bunch of the grapplers from here at the tourney. ALL of them said what's up and chatted it up a bit. I can't tell you how highly that made me feel about the quality of people that train at this school. Great people, Great Grappling! If you're looking for a place to train or if you're like me and find yourself in the area for a few days, you need to DEFINITLEY check this place out!

Michael Webber: Denny has been an on again, off again no gi coach for me since I attended an Eddie Bravo seminar in 2007 and he was Bravo's demonstration partner. You get good at what you do, and Denny has been exclusive no gi since belt - and he's Eddie's first black belt. I wish I hadn't devoted my time to the gi, because Denny's has mad details and teaching skills.Plus, his academy is supportive and friendly.Props!

Mehdi Medjaoui: Denis and his assistants are great teachers too, focusing on pedagogy and efficiency. Stay consistent.

ultra: Best jiu-jitsu in San Francisco

Alex Furman: your limit and you will come out healthier than when you came in.Ever since I've started training with Denny, I have made new friends, my game shot through the roof, and I'm enjoying jiu-jitsu more than I've ever had before. It doesn't get any better than this.

Dylan Peters: Awesome gym. Great people. Tight jiu jitsu.

Megan Caluza: Excellent place to learn jiu jitsu. Friendly staff, clean, well organized facility. Strong community feel with sister schools in San Mateo and Walnut Creek. I have been training here for more than three years, and will continue to train here as this place makes me feel welcome.

Nick Lee: , and the first thing I should mention is this:Denny has created a welcoming, friendly, and attentive space that is

Paul McDermott: I walked into 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu SF about 2 years ago and was welcomed like family. Denny is an exceptional teacher with a long history of success in the competition world. He is very detailed and patient with his students and is filled with years of experience. The new location is set up well with onsite showers and mats wall to wall. I recommend 10th Planet Jiu JItsu SF to everyone I talk to. 10PFL!!

Reid Davis: From Australia travelling the States, met ownerCoach Renan, very kind and knowledgeable, he let me borrow a Gi whilst I trained. All of his students were great to train with, very welcoming. Cya next time, thanks Sunset!

Benjamin Russack: Excellent, highly technical instruction.

Jeff Chang: I’ve been training here for about 5 years now. All I can say is that this place is a hidden gem, you meet a lot of great minds to share experiences and knowledge. Training here has allowed me to achieve goals I couldn’t see myself doing anything when I first stepped into this gym. I can’t thank Renan, the instructors, and the team members at Sunset Jiu Jitsu enough for creating a welcoming environment and amazing gym for anyone to join!

Secret AsianMan: Renan is an amazing instructor and runs an awesome training environment. The way he breaks down techniques into memorable details is very rare to find in Jiujitsu instructors

Chad Leto: Incredible gym and an incredible group of people to train with. Really fun environment with an awesome instructor. A really great spot for all skill levels of BJJ and definitely one of the best gyms in the city

Brad Smallwood: and he's a really friendly and dedicated instructor. I've had Renan as a teacher for close to 11 years and so glad his gym has opened near Ocean Beach and where I live. The environment and vibe is very welcoming for both beginners and visitors and the level of training is strong. The gym itself is really nice- clean, great space, and plenty of parking in the neighborhood. This is a very welcome addition to the local jiu jitsu community.

Sam Balas: Awesome gym!

Nathalie Kaplan: have been training as well, and not only did their JiuJitsu and fitness level improved a lot, they also made awesome friendship through Sunset JiuJitsu. Renan got them and their teammates ready for their first tournaments this year, boosting all of their confidence in the most amazing way.

A: Very nice and clean place. A lot of different level and age practitioners, so anyone can have someone of similar level to train/roll with. Instructor, Renan, is very knowledgeable and easy going black belt, who promotes a very positive atmosphere on the mat. Pricing is very reasonable as well. Highly recommended place to start this great art of jiu-jitsu, or anyone who already practice it, came check it out.

Jack Grantham: Renan is the man. His knowledge comes from a deep lineage of traditional Brazilian Jiu jitsu. Only go here if you want to learn techniques that will work.

Shayleen Q: Great family environment and Renan is a very professional and knowledgeable instructor. Great place to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
