Kimberly Austin Briggs: Omg, the bone marrow dish is to die for that was my very first time trying it,and it was just plain yummy. The crab noodles and the chicken.Hash was delicious. To top off this fabulous dinner, we had strawberry shortcake Delish.
J J: Along with the fantastic atmosphere & delicious food, you're hosted by the most kind and accommodating staff. This place is delivers mind- blowing service everytime, an absolute must-try if you're in SF. Enjoy a delicious cocktail at the bar while listening to the live jazz band. You WON'T be disappointed, this place is gem. Well done!
Hannah C: Good food and the vibe is very new York. I had a good experience but the place is feeling a bit dated relative to other great spots in SF.Recommended dishes Marrow Bones …
Scott Laine: .We ordered the deviled eggs and the steak tartar, which were excellent. The eggs had a hint of truffle, which, just typing this, is making me hungry. The steak tartar came deconstructed with toast and was mixed by the server for us; it was delicious.About an hour after we arrived, a piano player sat down and was joined by a bass player. It was the perfect sound for the room, and everyone seemed into it; that said, there wasn't much applause, but I always feel inappropriate at a restaurant unless there is a stage.I highly recommend BIX regardless of whether you have planned ahead or not. It's an excellent spot for dinner, drinks, or a little of both in a great space with exceptional service and delicious food.

Millicent Miles: , but no lack of service!! Kudos to our server, Eli, who was outstanding and ensured that we enjoyed everything 100%...Started with cocktails, then on to appetizers... Burgundy escargot and Little Gem Salad. Originally from VA, I was pleasantly surprised to see that they offered a Soft Shell Crab!! It was delicious and prepared exquisitely! My friend had the pork chop, and we ended the evening by sharing a slice of carrot and mint layer cake, coffee, and an espresso. It was a great ending to a lovely day!!
Isaac Smith: for quality and volume.Service was also excellent! We were never low on water or drinks, and always felt very well taken care of.Dessert was incredibly rich — almost uncomfortably so, so I wish that portion was slightly smaller, but it fits with the sort of vibe they have.
Jim Fawcette: Excellent service, very good food, in a nice setting along the waterfront with some tables having a view of the Bay Bridge. Despite the packed house every one of the staff were friendly, helpful, tremendous team. One of us, a visitor from Tokyo, left behind a gift for his grandson. The restaurant took it to his hotel. Amazing. We had a four course meal, and all five of us enjoyed each item. Sea Bass was very good, Ahi Carpaccio was excellent. Good wine list & countering a current trend, a good selection by the glass. Nice interior with curved ceiling whose tiles come from when the building survived the 1906 Earthquake.Parking: If you get there early, there is "License Plate Metered" parking right out front. Garages are a bit of a walk.
Sophie Eliades: . The wine was also wonderful. One of the nicest experiences we've had in a while. Thanks to everyone involved!

Amanda Peters: We stayed in the hotel as we had business in the area. We had dinner here the first night after researching the options. Staff was informal in a great way. Seemed like they enjoy working there. Recommendations from everyone were thoughtful and helpful. The drinks were unique and delicious. The food was stunning with imaginative combinations. We liked it so much we went back for breakfast and then lunch. Every meal was tasty with great service.
John Maull: I have dined at Villon several times and always like the ambience, service and food in this elegant restaurant in the Proper Hotel. Last night we had a very enjoyable pre-theater dinner. The creamy artichoke soup was a tasty starter. The pork katsu was large but nothing special. I would have expected a novel take on this standard Japanese dish. The chocolate custard had a delicious assortment of flavors, but I would have liked more chocolate.
Kevin W: How terrible outside is, how wonderful inside would be ! That’s my overall for tonight ! We order the set menu for 3 items and drink for each of us. The complimentary tarts were great ! And soup and salad was little surprisingly beyond my expectations, and I was even wonder if this is Michelin star restaurant ? My steak was just perfect, and asparagus were even amazingly delicious. Pork chop was huge and the only one like standard. The deserts were absolutely unbelievable boom ! The whole vibe and service is perfect and I’d highly recommend it! Definitely come back for the other time !
dena legaux: I really enjoyed the brunch menu. The proper breakfast was fantastic! The service was awesome, the place is clean, bright, and the atmosphere is cozy. I wish there was more of a bar selection for brunch such as a variety of juices for mimosas. Nevertheless, the server made it work. Great place to have a note before seeing a show at the theater. The theater is a 5 minute walk. I will return and thank you for a great experience.

Morgan Evans: . He made such unique and well-thought-out drinks, and went out of his way to ensure we had a pleasant experience. Definitely planning to come back another day for brunch or Happy Hour. Many thanks!
Matt Easton: , we appreciated the cheeky way to try and keep prices affordable. All the same, the burger was worth every cent we paid! The flavors were balanced, meat high quality, and service timely. The real highlight was the side of crispy onion strings. Wow! They were unlike any other battered onion I’ve had before; incredibly light and crispy and not at all overpowering on the onion flavor
Marifel Magsino: All of it are nice. The ambience, food and the over all look of old sfo. Love it.

Bharat Shah Sun Fine Papers: After reading numerous reviews, I ultimately decided to book a stay at this hotel. This is my review.During my stay at this hotel, the check-in service was incredibly smooth. Mr. Daniel at the front desk was exceptionally helpful throughout my entire stay. The rooms were ok old , and the location was excellent. I found it to be great value for money considering the cost. I came from India for vacation, and based on my experience, I would highly recommend this hotel to others.Walkability: Powell Station, a tram station, and bus stops are all conveniently close to the hotel. If you have a car, there's a parking lot right next to the hotel. Plus, if you want to explore the city, you can get a full-day ticket for local transportation and roam around all day without spending much. It's easy to get around and see the sights!
Fabian: Very central hotel with very good transport connections. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are well maintained and spacious, and the bed was very comfortable.I would prefer this hotel again on another visit.Rooms: The room was very well maintained during my stay. Is spacious by San Francisco standards. Only the equipment was a bit old. In addition, the room did not have a television.Nearby activities: Nearby there is a popular cable car station, Union Square, about 2-3 minutes away. The City Hall of San Francisco is about 15-20 minutes away.Safety: I think the environment is safe during the day. In the evening it is recommended to avoid poorly lit streets and to keep valuable items in your backpack/bag. The street is otherwise quiet overall.
Berkan Güven: The location of the hotel is very good, however; There are always problems with the cards. Other than that, there is no problem, the hotel staff is generally helpful in everything. It is a reasonable hotel to stay in for accommodation that does not have many negatives or positives.Walkability: You can walk everywhere
Jean CW: , the sound insulation, water pressure, water temperature, air conditioning, heating, luggage storage, housekeeping, and front desk were all very good, and even The front desk also helped transfer overseas phone calls to the room, which I thought was very good. Except that there was no view outside the window, everything else was really excellent.
