Rachel Yarnold: and they brought her a water bowl. The wines are reasonably priced and tasty. The staff isn't overly chatty, which is actually a plus at a winery. They checked in on us at regular intervals and did not hurry us to leave. Made for a great afternoon!
DanielIvan GarciaBenitez: Enjoyed a smooth cab, the unique atmosphere within the production warehouse added to the overall experience. Scott provided thorough explanations, going above and beyond by recommending other fantastic wineries and delightful food options to explore in the East Bay.
Latisha Wallace: I visited this place with my aunt and cousin. They are members. I don't believe you have to be a wine drinker to visit this place because I'm definitely not, but the wine is good. The view and your company is what makes this place great!!!!
David Sayen: Great wines and fun events
Olivia Bautista: and we'll be returning again next month.
Peter Spivack: Really great wines. Immersive tasting experience. OAK departures or arrivals over the patio if you’re into that sort of thing.
Michael Lien: Nice casual wine bar, amidst the setting of oak barrels. A different food truck setup is available based upon the evening.
Zer Oine: What’s not to love about excellent wines with amazing views?
Marc Evans: and friendly - one of our best wine tasting experiences. Great location in Alameda - we have visited Napa and Sonoma many times - this winery and tasting experience was on par with our favorite visits to the North. If you live in the Bay Area, save the drive and taste local!
chris hartmann: Excellent wines
Andrew Wiedlea: Wine on the bay. 5 stars, very happy with that.
Len Moore: I just opened a bottle of Dashe 2014 Ancient Vines from Bedrock Vineyard, planted in 1888. It’s a blend of 35% Mourvedre, 32% Carignane and 33% Zinfandel. Omg, Michael and Anne Dashe, thank you so much, this wine is no less than amazing. It rates right up there with a premium Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. Different but top quality and great taste. I’m in Red Bluff, Ca. at my son’s home, it’s 111 F here. This red wine is so good, I don’t care how hot it is!
Marco Ambriz: A true hidden gem in Alameda! A great way to enjoy good wine made on location here in the Bay while enjoying a phenomenal view of San Francisco and the water. I have visited 4 times now and I'm coming back for more.Their wine is great! I have done 2 tastings and have bought multiple bottles of reds and whites to take home and have loved each one! My personal surprise favorite this summer was their 2018 Grenache but they have so much good variety. You can do a tasting for about $25 each person OR for a $10 corkage fee per visit, you can totally have them open up a bottle or more for you on the spot, enjoy them at your leisure and take the rest home. The staff team is wonderful. I have now spoken with at least 6 staff members in my visits and they have all been kind, knowledgeable and very attentive to their guests. I am not a wine club member and they make me feel like I am.The location is gorgeous inside and out. Theres no bad seat in the house. Outside is a beautiful patio with shaded tables and plenty of space. Inside is the wine bar with the great open view of all the wine barrels resting while you sip. The outdoor area is a great space if you have kids and it is also pet friendly. We brought our kids and our dog on a Sunday and were able to enjoy without worrying about making arrangements for them. You can bring outside food or you can order from different vendors they have on Saturdays and Sundays.
Khalid: and the views are amazing! The outdoor setup and scenery are the main draws of this place for me, but that bay area weather can sometimes make it less enjoyable, especially once the sun starts to set and the wind-chill kicks up. The only reason I'm holding it at four stars is because they don't have a consistent food menu to pair with the wines. They have pop-up food trucks that can vary. It can make it tough for folks with allergies or dietary restrictions depending on who's there on the day you go.Ambiance: 5/5Food: N/ADrinks: 4/5Service: 4/5Price: 4/5Overall: 4.3/5
David Borel: Good wine in a secluded spot with a nice view.
Susan R: Always a great visit

Dave Methvin: I happened by this store since I was staying at the nearby Hilton in Union Square. What a wonderful place! They carry bottles from many small local unsung wineries. As an east coaster I'd never heard of most of them, but Don talked me through many of their choices and I decided on a bottle that my wife and I loved. I was pleased at the prices, it's hard to believe that I could get a great bottle of wine for $50 that only had 8 barrels made in total. I suspect we will sign up for their quarterly wine club.
Terence Reis: I walked in looking to buy just one of the well-known labels. What I got was an amazing lesson about the Californian wine production and history. And left the store with great local wines. If you want wines from California, this is the place.
Brian “Mo-Fo” Dean: Came into this shop on a mission to find a good bottle of California wine, came out with 3. I love this place and Andy turned me on to a few Cab Francs that were delicious AND affordable. Thanks again, I’ll be back in your store the next time I’m in San Fran.
mushi 44: The wines are wholesaled from local wineries, and all wines are carefully selected from wines that are not produced in large numbers. It's fun just looking at the wines lined up on the wall, but you can also learn about the characteristics of the wines from the knowledgeable staff. The asking price goes up in order from the bottom up, but if you decide on a budget per bottle, say 30 to 50 dollars, and the number of bottles you want, then let them know your preferences and they will recommend it to you. They also sold me a cover that wouldn't break when I put it in my suitcase at a low price of $1.50, and advised me to bring another cover the next time I came. This is a shop that can be recommended to many Japanese people as there is explanation in Japanese.
Benjamin Fheng: Wines are very well priced and shopkeepers personally only put out the stuff that they love. Would absolutely come here again in my next visit!Came here mid December 2023 and got 3 bottles of wine. Rick was incredibly accommodating and friendly when I told him I needed some Californian wines. He was able to explain with lots of passion which wines he loved and would recommend. Don came out and went into an immense depth on some nice history of California wines and its production. Super rare find and really happy I found this place.
山崎祐治: I bought a wine as a gift for my friend. I got a nice wine thanks for kindness of the staff! Wines are affordable to purchase. If you find gifts about California, here is the most recommended shop!
David Baker: Stopped in before heading to the airport with no idea what I was looking for. The guy in the shop gave me a quick run down on different wines and where they come from and what would go best with a meal I wanted to make for my wife and I. All that and he found something EXACTLY in my budget.Perfect way to end my work trip , will absolutely come back next time I’m in SFO
Marten: An absolute gem. Highly recommend them, AND ...what they recommend. Can't say enough. Thanks, Andy and Hanson 🙏🏼
Renata Almeida: I have been part of their Cabernet Club for almost 5 years now. Amazing Cabs! Some from small vineyards with outstanding quality. Forget about Opus One… this place will offer you much better quality wines for a lot less than $400 a bottle. The club wines will be pricy from $65 to $120 per bottle but worth every penny. the quality is really outstanding! I believe Don’s knowledge/experience in the Nappa area is beyond what I have ever expected. I just love their Cabernet Club! ❤️🍷 If you are looking for an outstanding Cabernet club join this one, you will not regret if you are a real Cabernet lover. I promise you! 😉
Itsu: I visited for myself and for souvenirs. I'm not an expert on wine, but the staff were very knowledgeable and recommended the best wines based on my general requests. They only stock the ones that they tasted and found to be the best.
William Jordan: Took a respite from the rain while weekending in San Francisco. Nice selection of less common wines that speak to their relationships in the wine industry. Andy was a pleasure to talk to & he has great depth of knowledge and a passion for their offerings. Highly recommend for a special bottle and I look forward to returning.
Mike B.: Nobody in this world knows more about wine and the back stories of every vineyard than Don Gillette! Bring a notepad or better yet, just record him. Amazing selection of wines and recommendations!
kristin yeo: A 50 year old winery exchange in San Fran city. If looking for good Napa wines and winery is out of the visit list, they have great selections here, owner Don is knowledgeable and able to share his wine expertise and knowledge too!
Phongthon Tharachai: The owner is super knowledgeable . They do not sell wines that do not taste .Strongly recommend for wine enthusiasts.
Kendii Tharachai (Ken): Excellent.
Kristina Outland: was so nice and knowledgeable! I felt like I got the perfect gift for my mom. I wasn’t going to buy one for myself but I felt so comfortable that I had to grab one for me. Both people there today were great- will return. Thanks!

Michael McGinley: Best wine shop in SF. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, amazing patio out back, and great selection of wine.
Guilherme Norci: Great wine selection. Staff is friendly and attentive. They have a nice backyard to enjoy the wine.
Sergei Sorokin: Great back patio.
Michael Wu PhD: We ate at Arbor next door, but it looks like the back garden is sure between Arbor and Arlequin. This looks like a nice wine merchant with a big selection of wine. We will find opportunity to check it out.
Iman Rasheed: Great affordable prices for a street with kinda more expensive food. Ive gotten their Mac and cheese and the chicken sando, and they're both amazing. My fave thing though has got to be their soft-serve!
Nora Morinda: My chicken sandwich was delicious. Fast Service and friendly. Thank you.
Lynne Rolland-Newburne: Just went in to browse, nice selection and reasonable prices
Jeremy Cole: It's a good place to buy wine and their wine club is a good value

G N: GREAT wine shop. I don’t live very close by, but I regularly make it a point to come here because their wine selection is extensive. They’ve got wines from Europe, North America, South America, Australia. And they have a good deal of sake, shochu, and the like from Japan too. The people here are great—friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. The tasting events are really fun, too. Shout out to Francesca for her wonderful hospitality!
Pei-Hsuen Liao: A wonderful shop to have in the neighborhood. I go there to shop for myself, but especially appreciate the selection and service when I need to buy something to gift.
Francois L: . Worker was very helpful and not pushy when it came to the trade offs in varietal and costs. Genuine folks.
Dan Streetman: Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff. Unique collection of wines.
Yohan Ko: This is a great wine shop. If you're from San Francisco and like wine, there's no reason not to go. I didn't know, but I heard that if you order from the website and pick it up, there's even a sale, so I thought I should definitely do that next time.
Lynne Zeleny: One of the best wine shops in the Bay Area. Selection is amazing. The nooks and crannies are so fun to explore. The staff is crazy knowledgeable and helpful. I love the wine bar, cozy and perfect place to hang out. And the bargain table! Love the bargain table
Jasmin Arneja: great selections. staff is always helpful and knowledgeable. a favorite wine shop
Alex Rosales: I went to Flatiron Wines Spirits I really like it.
Glauco Silveira: Excellent option to purchase local and foreign wines in SF.
stefany leui: This place is aweosme! Gave me a great wine recommendation and were super attentive. Very knowledgeable and super welcoming! I will be back for more great wine. They have a great selection of snacks that pairs great with your wine of choice. Some delicious bubblies that I will get when I come back sooner then later. Thank you. They also sell cork screws which I definitely needed.
Paul Harvey: This store is BART Convenient, great selection of Champagne including hard to find producers, largest Burgundy selecion in Northern California, and a griendly, helpful staff.

Xu Lu: We found a bottle of vintage wine last minute as a birthday gift - it arrived in time overnight after order confirmation. Tristan was incredibly patient and helpful in sorting out all the details. Thank you!!
Essaime -: Extraordinary range of fabulous wines and spirits, inspired advice. Best place to buy liquor in West Portal!
Jon Hoidt: Great place to find local and imported wines
Marc Petersen: I’ve been shopping here on and off for about a decade. The wine is high quality. I also like the Japanese whiskey and scotch selections. I do miss the weekend tastings and I hope they return soon.
Robert Ahlers: Love the new layout and selections
Dan Cross: great little spot to find what you are thirsting for, but I still dont understand why it is closed on the weekend and open on monday and tuesdayodd hours to sell alcohol.
Dan Quine: Always a neighborhood gem, known for its wide selection of wines and spirits. At the end of 2022, they refurbished the interior, and it now has very comfortable seating in the main room and a delightful curved bar in the back room. The staff are as friendly and knowledgeable as they always were - there to offer good advice whatever your budget, and happy to let you get on with it if you know what you want. No high pressure sales tactics or attempts to up sell you here. Thoroughly recommended.
Candela Fernandez: They have so many wines and liqueurs. All neatly organized. The staff is very well versed on their merchandise. You can find Pacharan there! These days they are renovating the store, but they are still open.
Scott Keck: Putting in a new tasting bar. They offer 10% off any wines in their tastings if you buy them that day. I will always go here rather than save a couple bucks at BevMo or Total Wine. You can't beat local!

Teresa Waggoner: I love popping in here and picking up unique and special wines. The staff are always great about balancing between letting you browse the selection but also ensuring you don’t get lost in the vast options they have. I am not a wine expert but I do enjoy drinking it. They always have great suggestions to match my flavor profile and preferences and I’ve enjoyed every single bottle they’ve ever suggested. Highly recommend!
David Kwon: Peter and crew are not just amazing wine stewards, they are also superbly friendly people. Incredibly knowledgeable in old world wines, they are no slouches in up and coming new world trends. My favorite part of Wine SF is that they work with many of the wine makers to import directly. I believe it's this level of relationship that allows them to know the wines inside and out and provide us with gems we would not find at your typical wine retailer. It also doesn't hurt that they have phenomenonal discounts on a regularly basis.
Edmond Hirota: Very helpful people. Great wine can be had here without breaking the bank. Just tell them what you like and you’ll come away with some satisfying wines.

A Juerg: Online order to Midwest here. Great experience finding some stuff I can't find at home. Shipping was fast, everything was packed great as well. Thank you! I'll be back for more!
Courtney Kelley: This is an in-store review, not online! We had a lovely time at Blackwell's and found the selection and staff to be great! The store is well marked and easy to browse with helpful tasting notes on the wine bottles. Austin gave several great cocktail suggestions and even a new dinner spot for us to check: Mama Ji's! Really tasty, we're here now!Great cocktail suggestions, gin knowledge, and local tips, Austin - Thank you
Jonnathan s: Not gonna lie, I was hesitant to order any kind of spirit online, especially being an out of state buyer. This place is legit! They have my business for days, weeks, months to come!
Robert Bridgeforth: Awesome selection! Awesome staff. Blackwells is a caliber of shop all stores should aspire to be.
Dung Nge: Very skeptical in the beginning when I found out they can ship liqour to TEXAS on their website. After reading some of the reviews I take the risk of order online and get it ship to TEXAS. Yes this is a legitimate website/online liquor store. Package came in very well packed, they care about their product and customer. 5 stars
Cathy Fong: Got my favorite liquors here. Trevor and Brittany are very helpful. Will return for future purchases.
Bob Regan: Fantastic selection and good prices. Highly recommended
Mike Piech: Great selection of mezcal and Scottish whisky; good prices.
Buddy Kane: Legendary service and product quality.
Shannon Wicks: I recently purchased some rare items from them. Everything shipped out and was received timely. I had to reroute FedEx because I got stuck on a trip and had no issues doing that with fedex. This is my 2nd time ordering all the way from East Coast and it was packaged securely and everything arrived as expected. No complaints and pleased with service.
Jeff G.: Great service. Fast shipping!
Fred: I recently ordered two bottles of bourbon that I can't find anywhere else. My order arrived quickly and in great shape. I will be ordering from Blackwell's again!
Zach Howard: . One of the biggest positives for me is that Blackwells doesn't put an insane upcharge on shipping costs like most online liquor retailers. I was also very impressed that they shipped out my bottle the same day that I ordered it. Order was placed on a Thursday and I received it Monday morning. The bottle was packaged very well. After looking at and considering dozens of online liquor retailers, this will be my go to!
Gary White: Decent prices given the current bourbon boom. My order shipped quickly, arrived earlier than expected, and intact. The only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars was that the price of one bottle I ordered increased by $10 in the day I had it in my cart.
Kelley Jefferson: My product came as described and within a few days of ordering. I will order from Blackwells again. So excited to find a reputable business to purchase Bourbon from online.
Bryce Carter: , nicely folded as well. I appreciate this, as some selections in my orders are intended as gifts. I have never had a problem with any order, and I will continue to do business with them in the future.
