The Pad Studios: what do users think?

Roohi Ebrahim: . But honestly what I love most about practicing at the pad is that I feel like I’m part of a community and I’ve made some meaningful connections through the Pad.

Heather Sweeney: Have been going to the pad for years! Great classes and good options for before/after work during the week. A nice variety of instructors, always clean, and lots of props. The prenatal classes have been excellent!

Sue Hu: What a beautiful space to practice yoga. The teachers are kind and talented; the community warm and inviting; and I especially love the unique offerings like restorative yoga with sound bath.

laura williams: Amazing studio! Great teachers!

Elizabeth Feldman: Amazing instructors and community!

Natalie Belyea: I love this studio! Great variety of classes. So happy to have stumbled upon it!

Noa Elliott: SUCH a nice place to take a fun, approachable class. I have been going for about a month, but I have never felt like a new person sneaking in. It was never cliquey or annoying, and the yoga is good. Also, the teachers each bring a unique thing to their classes, so its nice to both have access to variety and pick some favorites.

Emilia Shelton: Great classes and beautiful studio space. The Restorative Flow and Sound Healing class is the perfect way to spend a Sunday evening.

Mahwash Bhimjee: My favorite studio in SF. Such a calm environment and really good teachers. I love that this studio offers classes outside of power yoga. Their slow flow with sound meditation on Sundays is amazing and I love their yin yoga too!

Crystalle Jacobo: I have been taking Chandra’s prenatal yoga class on Wednesdays and I find it invaluable! I have since moved further away, but I try to find the time to incorporate her class when I can before I give birth!

Catherine Lennie: I have consistently gone to the Pad since 2016. It’s the perfect location and the space is great. The teachers are consistent excellent and welcoming to the class.

Daniel Cogan: Awesome yoga studio on Union Street. Really love the Yin classes and laid back atmosphere. Highly recommend getting a pack of classes to use over the course of 3-6 months.

Karen Horn: Great classes, loved the livestream option so I could take classes on my own schedule, with the same great quality

Melissa Gugni: The Pad is a great studio! I like it because it is close to my house, parking is relatively easy and they offer many different classes everyday. I feel like post-covid, many yoga studios only offer a couple of classes a day and I appreciate having more options. It is a very calm and relaxing environment and folks of all levels are welcomed and challenged. The teachers range from very good to really freakin' awesome - there are a couple who clearly know their stuff and have a lot of experience to share.

Rina Wang: yoga has been a consistent weekly workout for me. all the teachers have been skilled and welcoming. it's an authentic yoga studio that gets steamy with the body heat, usually a great playlist is in the background. I love the vinyasa flow for the energy and stress relief. I would like to try yin or slow flow, but have not been yet because it is too late at night. due to my schedule, I am available to go to class weekday evenings right after work or weekend mornings. recent yoga teacher trainees have been humble but great. community classes are more inclusive for both students and teachers.

Kara Woods Hamilton: The Pad is a truly amazing space to learn and practice -- warm and inclusive, and the very, very best teachers. Livestream available for those of us out of area.

Laura Firestone: One of the top yoga studios in San Francisco. There are some fantastic teachers like Nicole Cronin, Rosemary and Emma Peck.

Lauren Frager: This place is so special - everything about it!

A II Z PRODUCTIONS: I spent a week in San Francisco in Dec of 2023 and I took a few classes at The Pad Studio and absolutely loved the energy there.I took classes led by Lauren Choen, Marguerite Imbert, Sarah Shahfi, Amanda Malone, and Emma Peck and they were all very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. I highly recommend anyone with any degree of yoga experience to give them a try.Thank you all for the amazing experience!Alireza K

Rebalanced SF Pilates & Strength Training: what do users think?

Marc Joshua: Justin's expertise and tailored approach to Pilates have been instrumental in alleviating my chronic knee pain. His deep understanding of biomechanics and rehabilitation techniques sets his practice apart, providing me with effective solutions that I haven't found elsewhere. I highly recommend Justin's Pilates practice to anyone seeking holistic and personalized care for their physical well-being.

Saira Rahman: . Under Justin's guidance, I've noticed a significant reduction in discomfort, an improvement that has been nothing short of life-changing.Justin's sense of humor makes each session fly by; I often find myself chuckling while in the midst of a challenging core exercise

Kerry Myerson: Justin has trained me on Pilates and Red Cord for two years. Whereas my workouts normally focus on strengthening and toning, Justin was able to address and resolve two different issues relating to injuries l sustained over the last several months. I trust Justin to challenge me but to also make sure that the exercises are safe. ~ Kerry

Jean Bai: It was really amazing to work with Justin. He was able to pinpoint my weaknesses after an injury and treat them. I came after working with Kaiser’s PT team wasn’t helping me at all and after the first session with Justin, I already felt much stronger than I had working with Kaiser’s PTs for a month.

Andrew Wood: I started seeing Justin to help with posture-related pain from desk work. It didn’t take long to start experiencing relief. Justin is a very knowledgeable instructor who knows precisely what areas to target and how to safely strengthen them. The studio itself is also very clean and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Lawrence Chyall: . He explained how the RedCord system works and along with traditional pilates-type exercises how it could me. He carefully guided me through the exercises, keeping in constant communication with me about my body.I would typify his approach as one of caring based in a deep knowledge of the structure and function of musculoskeletal system.Justin gets my highest recommendation. He will help you get back in touch with your body so that you will be able to do the things you want to do without pain.

joy chung: Justin’s redcord pilates has been so incredibly helpful for my back pain problems! He’s really good about catering and personalizing each session to my needs and is always great about checking in on my back condition after sessions too. I would highly recommend his studio for anyone with injuries or specific physical goals.

Jen Fox: I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Justin! I came in with pretty bad hip pain from sitting all day as well as balance issues. Ever since working with Justin my hip pain is near non existent and I have so much confidence and control over my balance I’ve been able to fully enjoy sports again!

Nick Alesandro: I came to Justin after suffering from bad lower back pain for over a year. I'd done physical therapy with 2 other providers without much benefit, but improved significantly after just a month of treatment with Justin. He took the time to really understand what's going on and developed a treatment plan that actually worked! Definitely recommend.

wanda leonard: If you need to get out of pain as well as strengthen any injured part of your body then I recommend Justin. Not only is he a great trainer but he has extensive training of anatomy. I have frozen shoulder and by the time I leave the session my arm has more range and my back is getting so much stronger as well as the rest is my body. I always look forward to my session’s.

Hasoo Lee: It’s been very difficult to find a pilates instructor that suited my needs in SF. So glad to have found Justin - he is extremely knowledgable, very hands-on, and patient.

Steve Gallagher: I have been going to RebalancedSF for a few months now and my body feels stronger and more flexible because of it. Justin is great at listening and pushing you just hard enough to make a difference. Feel better than I have in a long time. Thanks Justin

Dennis Rice: Fantastic workout, knows how to work on my problem areas. Always walk away knowing I'll feel it the next day but in a good way. I’m able to keep going to session working my body and staying fit through injuries, pulls and strains, as Justin can workaround any problem and improve recovery time at the same time.

Nicole Lim: Justin is hands down my favorite instructor. He is thoughtful, attentive and intuitive. He works with what is going on with your body, rather than what should be happening with your body. He is also incredibly knowledgeable and creative - if working this muscle in this way is not the best for you, he will find another way that is better and safer. He is also patient, which is great for someone like me, who wants to rush through things, or impatient to achieve a certain level. He helps me get to where I want to go without pushing my body beyond its limits. You could say that sometimes he’s more in tune with my body than I am!

Grace Song: I learned that subtle minor muscles in my body weren’t firing properly and Justin got me back on track with the crazy Nordic pulleys, levers, and contraptions he uses. I think he’s one of the only people certified in the US with this method! He’s also very kind, checks in on his clients after every session, and is very detail-oriented to make sure you’re getting the best possible result in every session.Life changing and highly recommend!!

Amy Monroe: I was looking to supplement traditional physical therapy with additional strengthening but needed to find someone who could work around my recently dislocated knee. Enter Justin and Redcord - the perfect solution. If you've never heard of Redcord, well, neither had I, but let me tell you it is awesome! Justin has been able to make me stronger while working around my injury safely and without any pain. I've seen great results in a relatively short period of time. Plus, Justin is really kind. I am not athletic and was initially worried I wasn't going to be any "good" at this, but Justin always makes me feel like I am capable and motivates me to keep getting stronger every session. I'd give him 6 stars if I could!

Alex Goodkind: Justin is great and I always feel amazing after finishing a session!

Mercury Fitness High Performance Pilates: what do users think?

Tricia Xu: I’ve been going to Mercury Fitness throughout the past year. I’ve enjoyed my classes, which have been challenging but also very refreshing. I came in not knowing how to use a reformer but the instructors took time to teach me, which was greatly appreciated. Additionally, the small class sizes are great because you do get a lot of attention from the instructors who can help correct form. Overall, would recommend attending classes here!

JenMarie Landig: Great class with added challenge of laying on a roller on top of the mat. Felt like my core was especially engaged. Good leg work as well. Perfect pace. I’d return!

Casey W: Mercury Pilates is great! Super attentive small classes really work every muscle. You'll definitely be sore after in the best way!

Lauren Madigan: Absolutely LOVE Lauren. Her classes are amazing!

Christine Lim: Took a few group reformer classes with Mercury Fitness, and I feel great every time I walk out the door! Had no problems registering for after work hours classes and will definitely be back to take more classes with them.

Carisa B: Great studio and teachers!

Megan Kim: This is one of the best studios I've ever practiced Pilates in. It has every piece of equipment you'd want and the instructors are great and keep each class different, fun, and challenging.

Arnaz Ensani: My favorite Pilates studio in San Francisco. Great location and personalized attention.

Lauren G: Good workout. Slow paced but exactly what I was looking for. Targeted whole body.

Cathy Cao: Loved this studio - one of the best I've been to. Small class sizes so the instructors really tailor the class based on the class' needs, lots of individual attention given, great teachers, great soundtrack. Nicely renovated space that makes you feel calm and in your element. Definitely will go back!

Katie Everett: One of the best pilates studios in the city! Very personalized four person classes on reformers. I have yet to take a mat class but have heard great things.

Rosa Wan: My favorite aspect of this studio is its small class sizes -- meaning attentive instructors, manageable pace, and focus on form and safety. I'm personally more drawn to a relaxed, chilled-out vibe than a charged workout, so if you also feel this way, this studio's your best bet!

Sara Walsh: classes and reformer only classes and they have both been an excellent workout. Don't worry about classes being too challenging if you are new, they ask you about your skill level and background before the class and while the classes have kicked my butt they haven't felt outside of my skillset at all. I've only done evening classes with Lauren and she has been wonderful! I've been doing pilates for a couple years now and needed a good studio while I was in town for a couple weeks and Mercury has fit the bill! I would go here regularly if I lived in the area.

Mariette Lapiz: David is an amazing instructor. I’ve been taking classes and private sessions with him for the last five years. He’s extremely knowledgeable, and encourages and pushes me to go beyond my comfort zone. His classes are challenging and fun, and his private sessions have allowed me to advance and deepen my pilates practice. David always provides a great workout that challenges my body and my mind.

Patricia Velho: has been part of my journey there. He understands the body mechanics like no one and has helped me to develop a strong and healthy body. David Woods, you are the best!

Jen Verriere: Mercury Fitness is a fantastic pilates studio! The instructors are great it's an incredible workout. The space is also awesome.

Ulrica Jovita Soenargo: I have been with mercury fitness for two years and I enjoyed my session there, especially machine class with David. David encourages the students to go beyond their limits. There were a lot of time when I felt I was exhausted and couldn't do it more, but David always push me to keep trying to get healthier and stronger. The staffs there are also nice and helpful. They are super friendly.Last but not least, the location and the studio are very nice and always be one of several reasons why I have been so loyal to mercury fitness

Meera Pamidi: Awesome instructors and classes! The instructors push you just the right amount to make it challenging and a great workout. Love coming here.

David Herron: I have been going to Mrcury Fitness for years and am a huge fan. The staff is friendly, the music is good and the atmosphere is great. I get a great workout and somehow relax there too. Did I mention that the workouts are really tough?

Body Chemistry Studio - Pilates & Gyrotonic: what do users think?

Catherine Tyler: I wanted to post a review for the studio’s pandemic response/classes. Body Chemistry has done an amazing job of serving its clients. There are several options for classes - including in-person reformer classes that meet all city Covid-prevention standards and feel very safe and a wide array of online options. If you are looking for a place to do Pilates in person or online - this is the gold standard.

Erin Coull: , and truly care about your progress and your goals in doing pilates. The loyal folks who come here on the regular are also lovely and it really feels like a welcome place in the midst of the every more hustling and bustling city. Body Chemistry is a true gem, I don't know how I'd get my fabulous pilates body elsewhere without them!

Laura Fraser: This is a lovely Pilates studio with excellent, attentive teachers. I am very picky about Pilates teachers and have abandoned other studios where the teachers chat too much about themselves, don't pay attention to proper alignment, and don't zero in on students. Here, I have had a great experience doing both private and group classes. The teachers are exceptionally good, the space is gorgeous, and the vibe is friendly.

Anastasia Walia: .Cons:You don’t really know what body part the instructor will focus on & it often ends up being the same areas.Classes fill up fast. I booked 8-9 days out to get the times I wanted. Most of the instructors are hard to follow. I found 2 guy instructors to be the easiest to follow and had clear instructions about form and strength.Don’t expect advanced moves, you’ll have to take private lessons. I took private lessons at equinox and discovered that I was doing more advanced workouts after trying these classes.

Katherine Kodama: Great instructors - they are clear with instructions and use of the reformer which seems quite daunting at the first class. The studio is very clean, light and airy. I took advantage of the introduction 2 week of unlimited classes and I feel much more confident. Have I seen any improvements? I have knee and ankle issues and they seem to have lessened.

Alexandra De Martini: Been trying various studios in the area and this is my favorite so far. It's a good combination of kicking your butt and being good to your buddy. Also love the 7AM option.

Andy Lutz: Beautiful, clean space!

Casandra Higuera: Great instructors, different technics for teaching. Good location, parking is tough; reasonable pricing.

Megan Stevenson: I've been going to this studio for a week and my body feels truly transformed. I've been struggling with my right hip for over a year, and this technique engages muscles that were previously turned off. The teachers are great and you can try 2 weeks unlimited for $60.

Maiden Lane Studios: what do users think?

Shedrack Anderson: Beautiful studio and love their variety of classes. Right in the heart of San Fran with awesome instructors.

Gavin Freeman: Maiden Lane has a warm feel as soon as you walk in. All the instructors are very well trained and knowledgeable. Also, the studio was very accommodating to me when I needed a refund for some classes due to a personal reason. Would highly recommend to anybody living in or visiting SF.

Lisa K.: Very nice feel, a friendly place. The workout was exceptionally good, the teacher -professional and funny. Level of cleanliness very high in comparison to otter things in town. No shower, but they provide small towel and lockers

McKenna Brown: The classes at Maiden Lane are by far my favorite work out, EVER. I absolutely love how the instructors at the studio teach the classes! I am now located in Los Angeles and I cannot find a barre class like theirs. My favorite class was the booty bar class and I loved how much time we spent on the bar, it seems like every other class I have taken is mostly floor work. You will not be disappointed if you take any class at this studio. Everyone is so welcoming and helpful.

Cynthia Wisehart: . I was greeted by Ramona, who swiftly adjusted to my unorthodox appearance and request. Yes, actually she could do a private right then. I'm pretty much a beginner, I have never taken a private, and she adapted almost immediately--spontaneously creating a teaching experience out of thin air. I got so much out of it! I came away with some critical clarifications that I have used every day since and which have pushed me forward in ways I could not have imagined. I'm grateful she went with the moment, and also grateful for the choices she made in how she saw me, and what she corrected and communicated. Seems like a quality place with a sincere mission.

Dark Army: Not only is this place totally gorgeous, the instruction bang on, but they're just nice peeps. I visit them for Pilates and fascial stretch therapy every time in town.

aaron bennett: I love this yoga class

Rachel Lamas: Wonderful time at booty barre. I was amazed at how much of a workout it was. My prior experience with bar method was that the workout just wasn't enough, so I was very happy with booty barre. The studio is amazingly beautiful. I've never seen one this elegant and cool. Great job who ever designed it. The location could not be better in the heart of Union Square on the cutest street in the city, Maiden Lane.
