Hiroki Taenaka: If you're a San Francisco resident, you can get in for free on Saturdays. The parking lot is large and convenient. There are quite a few famous paintings, such as Rodin's sculptures and Monet's Water Lilies, so it's worth seeing.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …

Suraj Dham: Went for the Murakami Exhibit which has already ended. It was dope seeing different styles of his work. Gift shop was really expensive, so I only ended up buying the museum exclusive socks. They did have the Murakami shoes which was cool to look at in person, but were too limited in sizing to purchase for myself.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …

Fae LeDawson: An amazing selection of artifacts, with informative descriptions and lots of halls to wander. The $10 special exhibition was interesting, with intricate cast bronze pieces, but if you want to save money there's plenty else to see in the regular exhibit halls. Those regular halls are slightly dim and very quiet, but the exhibited items were interesting and everything else was excellent.Handicap accessibility is good, with plenty of room to wheel around and portable chairs in every exhibit hall for those who need to sit often. Some items on display are up high, making views for short people or seated people worse.

Carter Chang: Came here on a free SF museum weekend. Small footprint, but enjoyed a thought-provoking exhibit “Designing Peace”. Nice gift shop. Spend 1.5 hours here, then enjoy a nearby craft beer, specialty cheese, or browse a boutique florist. Worried that street parking in the Dogpatch would be a problem but was easy on a winter weekend.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait …

Some notable establishments include Souvla, known for its delicious cuisine, a wood-fired organic bagel shop, and a bakery that offers delectable treats like crème brûlée-style croissants.

Christina Underwood: This was one the most interesting & provoking Muesums I visited while in San Fran... Way more price efficient than the others. Small yet full of unique BEAUTY. I would definitely suggest checking out while you're in town.

Turnipboys: Currently displaying a curated exhibit called "Designing Peace," which features multimedia pieces from international artists about global issues.I had a semi-guided tour that concluded with a crafts session where we made our own mini dioramas. I enjoyed this portion a lot.The layout of the exhibit is very interesting and allows for guests to roam and see every art piece. The staff is knowledgeable and happy to share more about the work and the museum if asked. They have "Pay What You Can Wednesdays," which I recommend if you have the time.

c: The Cartoon Art Museum was a lovely addition to our touring schedule for our family, including our 16 year old, a self-proclaimed Comic Con geek. The museum fueled her curious nature. A quaint little off the beaten path respite from all energy of the Wharf, we loved the reading room, and the memorabilia was well displayed. Also, the local artists featured in several areas around the museum were extremely impressive. We felt very welcomed and enjoyed seeing the mentoring going on between curator and what appeared to be a new museum employee. Overall, it was a 5 star experience. Excellent quality.

Maria Yamamuro: Despite how small the spaces are, there was plenty to take in and enjoy. When we visited, they were featuring Filipino komiks and The Rocketeer, which I LOVED. There were also some replica costumes from Batman movies in the next room. I especially liked reading some old comics and mangas in the reading room. If you're a fan of classic comics and some manga, I think this is worth a stop.

Marc Kewleo: Lovely

Seán McCord: After reading the reviews, i wasn't expecting much, but two out of the four exhibits were better than anything i have experienced in quite some time. Media i don't usually like but still powerful, moving, and captivating. The works were expertly presented. The space is not huge, but it was worth every dollar paid.

David: Some thought provoking installations house in an architecturally interesting building.

Emily Lawless: I felt like I really learned a lot at this museum, very interesting history. I appreciate that there are windows through which you see the folks of the tenderloin, who you walked past and among to get there. It's a gritty area with a purpose, and I felt completely safe walking there by myself. Folks on the street were polite and I walked away with a whole new appreciation of the neighborhood's importance to this country.

For as cool as it is, it was not too busy, and I had plenty of time to set up my shots and take multiple photos at a station.
