Tadu Ethiopian Kitchen: what do users think?

Varna Vincent: Tiny place but awesome food. This may not be in the safest area in San Francisco. We went in a group in the evening, had dinner and left before it got dark. We got the injera and meat and vegetarian dishes. Everything was good.

Taylor Morgan: It's been 4 years since I've been here and I still think about it to this day. Planning a trip to the city around coming back here.

Brian W Schwisow (Piscatorial Veteran): Just really good food.

Ross Brown: Fantastic food.

Taynt Ryder Rodeo: I’m not from here but when I was in Ethiopia I couldn’t find food no where. Seems those that can afford food must have it pretty good… this here was a nice thing there

Ricardo Martin Villegas Rodriguez: The owners at Tadu are some of the sweetest and most welcoming folks you can meet. It’s a tiny little hole-in-the-wall kind of place, but they know how to serve up a DAMN feast. Make sure to get the platter and have a little bit of everything, you won’t regret it. I love being able to eat with my hands and even more so, being able to share the food, family style. Support local!

ronald yu: Best Ethiopian food I have had in city so far.

Jaidev Mirchandani: Really nice Ethiopian food!

Jonathan Husband: Small but the best Ethiopian Food I've had in forever. Plenty of flavors and even though the place is small the food comes out fast.

Erik Svarr: Amazing food, low price. One of the best restaurant in the area.

Jeremiah Ziskovsky: Vibrant spicy flavors, in a small establishment run by a friendly family. Great stop for real Ethiopian in the lower Haight.Recommended dishes Veggie Combo …

Elisa Han: I really enjoyed this place and would give it 4.5 stars. The food is delicious with generous portion sizes given the price. The host/waiter is very friendly, and it’s overall a cute, small atmosphere inside. Also, there are outlets on the right side of the tables which is interesting!

squid slice: Yummy vegan combo plate ,kinda pricey for the size but we left fiileded up . Perfect amount of spice .good injera bread , definitely will be stopping by again when I'm in the lower Haight n hungryVegetarian options: Lots of vegan stuff

Soledad Albornoz: The food was a 10. Lots of flavor, freshness and spice. I would recommend to add some nice music to the place, it feels like it needed life. If you want just good food, this is the place

Devin Carraway: .Vegetarian options: Good variety of veg offerings, you can eat meatless here and not miss a thing.

Craig Lewis: Good food and service and fairly inexpensive. We rambled in with a mess of dietary requirements and the guy was really patient and helpful.

3Deer: I recently visited San Francisco from socal and tried Axum cafe. This was my first exposure to Ethiopian cuisine and it was immaculate! I would be cautious if you are sensitive to spice, though.

Austin Sullivan: Splitting a veggie platter is a great vegan date night

Josh Greenwalt: Veggie platter for 2. Add tibsie lamb. Amazing.Vegetarian options: Lots of veggies. Have to add meats.

Adrian Gaino: Cultural Cuisine

Mona Madrigal: We have been coming here for over a decade. The food is still just as good and it has a comfortable atmosphere.Vegetarian options: Very good and wide variety. I’m not remotely vegetarian but can totally eat the veg combo and be very satisfied.Dietary restrictions: Plenty for dairy sensitive and vegetariansParking: Typical Valencia parking but commercial parking space right in front that ends at 6 so it’s easy to park to grab takeout.

Vijay Devaguptapu: I am being introduced to Ethiopian cuisine with this restaurant.I absolutely love the experience.A shout out to all Indians - TRY Ethiopian if you haven't started already! Biriyani is love but exploring is better 🙏🏼

Aida Ghidey: Ordered take-out. The containers looked small, but I was surprised how much was in the portion fitted which ended up being 3 meals for me!Vegetarian options: All Ethiopian/Eritrean restaurant are going to have veggie combo. They have a non-vegan diet of only 100 days/yr.

Chris Tan: Individuals with trypophobia must beware: the spongy injera served as the perfect vessel to scoop up all the delicious flavours of the vegan platter and the doro tibs.Never had Ethiopian food but this was a great foray into it taste-wise.

Lakewood Swim Lessons: The vegan sampler and beef tibs are - chef’s kiss! We love this placeFood: 5/5Recommended dishes Injera, Veggie Sampler, TIBS Recommendation for vegetarians Highly recommend Vegetarian offerings Clearly labeled vegetarian dishes …

Duncan Ku (Duncan 軍龍): Ethiopian cuisine, very interesting to try. The menu has a large QR code on the transparent partition at the cashier counter, and you can see the picture by scanning it. If you have no clue, just choose the most popular area. In addition, they also have traditional staple dishes, which look like burritos but taste like cakes, and they also have rice options. The service is very homely and friendly, it looks like a three-generation family restaurant. The taste can also be adjusted, such as adding spiciness or if you don’t want onions. There are many street residents in this neighborhood, so the lights are a little dim at night. In addition, the sign at the entrance is not very obvious. Although it is a store with large floor-to-ceiling glass, it is easy to miss it at night, so open your Google Navigation.Oh, I forgot to mention: very delicious!Recommend you to give it a try!Paid parking is available on the street.Vegetarian options: Vegan

Oasis Cafe: what do users think?

Simone Baggetto: I miss oasis so much! I regularly came here for dinner and lunch. The veggie combo was ridiculously delicious and filling.

Revathy: It was amazing! We ordered a vegetarian combo that came with injera. It was scrumptious. It came with 5 sides and every single one of them was yum. The food portion is big and it can be easily shared by two people. The food felt light and filling. Every item on the vegetarian combo was freshly made. But I guess the starter we ordered was a frozen item which was refried. It tasted well but it was a bit dry. I am not a fan of frozen and reheated items. Nevertheless, I stick with 5 stars because their food was very tasty overall and the staff was kind too. You have good vegetarian and non-vegetarian options here.

Swati Sangvikar: Good, simple, wholesome Ethiopian food. Friendly service. Worth a visit for health conscious people.

Nicole: , but I tried some at Haile's recommendation, and it was so flavorful; no sugar, no cream needed. Like, it was good cold the next day :ONeedless to say, 10/10 wonderful food and experience

The flavors are authentic and bold, I particularly enjoy the kik alicha and tibs plate! The injera is also very delicious.Service is always friendly and prompt. A hidden gem that's definitely worth a visit!

Club Waziema: what do users think?

I Mukherjee: First of all, this place needs to have a better sign out front and a way of letting patrons know they serve food. I walked in here while bar hopping a while ago, and I had zero idea this place served food at night, I thought it must have been a day time thing because it is technically a bar, and nothing noticeable inside that showed they serve one of the best Ethiopian food in San Francisco.Food, as I mentioned is great, service is good enough for a bar. It was quite empty when I walked in, maybe that's why the atmosphere didn't do it for me, but that's not going to stop me from going back there to get food again.

Lydia parrot: Food till 10pm :(

Debi Schadel: Dive bar serving yummy Ethiopian food with homemade injera.

Barcote Ethiopian Restaurant: what do users think?

Wanda Reynolds: Barcote offers a truly authentic Ethiopian dining experience that shines through in its flavors. The portions are generous, easily enough to satisfy a family, which is perfect for the family-style dining integral to Ethiopian culture. While the atmosphere is a bit outdated and could benefit from some remodeling, it still complements the communal dining experience. However, there are areas that could use improvement. Service was slow, as it took a long time both to place orders and to receive our food, despite the visible busyness of the staff. Additionally, the menu feels somewhat limited, though the dishes available are still worth trying.Would I return? I might, but I'd like to compare it with other Ethiopian restaurants to see how it stacks up. In summary, Barcote is worth a visit for those seeking to explore or enjoy Ethiopian cuisine in a family-friendly setting.

Joe Toombs: . Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Highly recommend to anyone!

Ashoka Khufre: My first time enjoying the succulent and delicious food from this particular location. My only complaint was they should have given more beef, lol! Just the sauce in the spices were delicious the whole thing was excellent! Just MORE BEEF PLEASE! AND WE'RE GOING TO ORDER TWO LARGE PLATES spicy in terms of being delicious was beautiful magnifique! Some restaurants give you spicy and it'll probably burn your throat on down if it made it past your tongue! Not this place they gave you deliciousness exquisitely! You know it's delicious if you lick the container even though the food is all gone you can't use your fork to scrape anything else off of it! If you want your taste buds to enjoy an adventure come to this place! If you had a bad day come to this place it's welcoming in the food will warm your heart and tummy! And you'll probably take home some honey wine. You are so deserving so please go and enjoy this place 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟DELICIOUSNESS 🌟🌟🌟

Lauren Blanchard: Really lovely experience, with great flavors, stylish and atmospheric restaurant design and personal service by the owner. Their homemade honey wine was a perk as well. My party had two combo platters, one veg and one meat, which came together on a ginormous injera and with plenty of refill injera rolls as we moaned a pleasurable path through the platter. We split a bottle of honey wine. I think we spent about $38/head? Good Date night spot. So grateful for the amazing ethnic and culinary richness of our East Bay!

Christiana Drachen: The food is absolutely delicious! Very filing, and reasonable. Service is good as well. Looking forward to going back.Had a return visit just last week, and after trying another Ethiopian restaurant in another city, I know this is the best Ethiopian food I've ever tasted. Great portions, delicious, and vegan! Can we say mushroom tibs???? Will return.

Cafe Romanat: what do users think?

Sanam Alam: Decent Ethiopian food. My friend called beforehand to make sure they served gluten free injera but when we arrived they didn't have any in stock. They offered me more protein in my order as a compromise which I accepted. Before ordering, we asked for our food to be spicy but it was on the bland side. Food was decent but not the best Ethiopian food in the Bay. Server was nice.

Blue Nile: what do users think?

Tianna Erickson: and added the red lentils, and the meat Sambusa appetizer. They were both excellent, my husband and I nearly finished the whole “for 2” platter and both our kids got to eat as well from the food. Definitely recommend, great vegetarian options too!! They were also very nice, very sweet service.

Vito Woldeselassie:

Eve Longuele: .

F M: Lovely locally owned with lots of fresh ingredients. They are vegan/ vegetarian friendly.Caution, they don't use utensils - which is fine since it's their tradition.Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie optionsDietary restrictions: Ask the staff for accommodationsParking: Street parking with some parking lots nearby.Kid-friendliness: Well light and friendly staffWheelchair accessibility: Street level

Alexander Boulgakov: Underrated. Good vegetarian sampler for a reasonable price. There is only one person manning the front, so getting their attention may take a bit of time.Usually have Ethiopian music playing in the background which adds to the atmosphere. And wall murals of traditional Ethiopian villages.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian combo is good.
