Young Kim: in Little ItalyA bohemian restaurantThere are many people enjoying cocktails at the bar.The atmosphere tooFood tooService tooAchieve beautiful harmonycrowded with peopleA restaurant that feels aliveThe price is highBut a place that bows to value

Ram: I would definitely recommend this restaurant for seafood lovers.I had an issue with the customer service before, but when I contacted the manager name Sergio Rosas, he took care of it.And the server name Kyle was really nice and kind. Before I got out from the restaurant, I made a reservation for a big group of people. That's much how I was happy with the service.Thank you for the great hospitality and wonderful experience.

Hyeju Yang: It's a restaurant famous for its oysters, but since we can't eat oysters, we ate clam chowder soup, lobster roll, and grilled octopus. The food was of high quality, so I was very satisfied with the meal! Recommended

Evan Ph: 4.5 stars to be exact. Big, beautiful room with solid service. Great happy hour with good value and great fresh oysters. Nice beer selection too. The %&#! on a shell though had a very odd spicy element to it...not too much for the mouth to handle but stayed lingering in your chest in a heartburn type way, which I never get. I'll skip those next time. Wanted to try the octopus which looked great but was told that menu ended at 3:00. It was 3:01 when I inquired with maybe 7 people in the whole restaurant mid-week. Maybe think about 60 seconds of flexibility guys lol. The food runner also couldn't describe anything and made up where the oysters were from. Not the best look. All in all, though a place I would go again.

Evie Ha: A friend recommended this place and it was great! The food, service, and atmosphere were all top-notch! The oysters were super delicious, probably the freshest I've ever had! The octopus was amazingly tender too. The bone marrow was a bit too rich for my taste, though. The service was fantastic as well! And last but not least they don’t have parking lot.

Jose Mercado: Ironside Fish & Oyster, situated a stone's throw from the lively Piazza della Famiglia, offers a delightful dining experience in Little Italy. The ambience is fantastic - a tastefully renovated warehouse with quirky, nautical touches that sets the mood for a fun and flavorful meal. The focus here, as the name suggests, is on fresh seafood. Locals rave about the lobster roll, and for good reason. It's packed with succulent lobster meat, perfectly dressed and bursting with flavor. But my personal favorite was the octopus a la plancha. It was melt-in-your-mouth tender, cooked to perfection, and the chorizo added a delicious smokey depth that elevated the dish.If you're looking for a drink to complement your meal, Ironside doesn't disappoint. They boast a great selection of cocktails, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring Little Italy. And for those who prefer a brew, there's a solid list of local beers on tap.Overall, Ironside Fish & Oyster is a fantastic spot for a delicious seafood meal in a vibrant setting. The friendly atmosphere, coupled with the top-notch cuisine and drinks, makes it a great choice for both locals and visitors alike.

Gustavo P: This place is super cool, the view of the bay is awesome and you can see seagulls dive and seals swimming in the water. My family and I saw a seal hunting and diving for a fish 🐟, from a distance, of course. The food is great, and the options are really good. The service is pretty good, and we had a great time! I would rate this place 10/10 for sure. Would recommend. 🎣🐟🐠🌊Wheelchair accessibility: There is a accessible ramp that leads to the entrance.

Nancy Haas: The food was great! Fried seafood platter was the best. Service was ok. Birds were too close to dining. Need some way to keep birds from trash.Wheelchair accessibility: Not enough close handicap parking.

Dr. Li Tian: Great place. Sorry to hear it's closing

George Sadler: My wife and I have been coming here for four years, every Friday night for almost 2 1/2 years. So sad to see these guys close. If you have not been here I highly suggest you get there before they close on December 23rdThe staff is amazing and the food is incredible. Don’t miss this if you have the opportunity.!

Katharine & Steven Schwartzman: and she was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was super friendly, responsive, and flexible in helping us create the perfect dinner menu with multiple options for our guests to choose from. We had a private room for 46 people with access to the outdoor patio, allowing our guests to enjoy a cocktail before sitting down for food. The restaurant also provided audio visual equipment for people to give speeches. We could not have been happier with how it all turned out. Thank you Rebecca for making it so easy!

Richard Coca: Line to order can get very long but it’s worth it. The quality of the seafood is great. The spicy dorado tacos were my personal favorite. The smoked salmon sandwich was a bit dry. The white bread could have used more tartar sauce or something to make it better. The red snapper plates were also good. The ceviche fell a little flat. Had to add a lot of hot sauce to bring out the flavor but a big fan of their chip supplier. Enjoyed the ambiance and music of this place

Ivette Duran: I came here because I saw it as an all time recommendation on Instagram, so on my weekend trip to San Diego this was a must stop for me and it did not disappoint! They have fresh ingredients and fish! I had the swordfish and jumbo shrimp tacos on corn tortillas, a side of fries, and coconut shrimp with jasmine rice. The tacos were soooo good. I paired them up with the Chipotle sauce and wow did that make them taste way better ! I highly recommend this place.

Rob Stephenson: I’ve been here both to get something to eat and to buy fresh fish from their market. The fish is fresh and well prepared. I’m never disappointed and I highly recommend this place. I keep going back to this place. I’ve been trying all of their speciality fish tacos and had their onion rings. The Pacific Beach location is my go to fish taco spot. As a local I wish their website would show the specials they run. I even signed up on FB to receive notifications, nothing. You have to go to the shop to find out. Excellent food, poor marketing. Someday I’ll run out of menu items to try, but not any time soon.

Olya S: Good!

Mandy S: Grilled fish and chips were superb!Parking: Parking is limited during busy periods. Street parking available, but can be a challenge.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes 👍🏻

Sadie Mensing: Our group of four tried almost all of the fishes including mahi mahi, ahi, sword fish, yellow tail, albacore, sea bass and the jumbo shrimp. Besides the sea bass, every item was rated 10/10 order again. Cannot go wrong with the tacos or sandwiches. We also enjoyed the fish shop clam chowder which had sausage but not many clams. Still delicious and I highly recommend this place

Ms. Fancy: We enjoyed our dinner here. The food was pretty good. My lobster a bit over done but flavorful. I sampled my guest's salmon, and it was perfectly done! The bread delicious but a higher grade of butter would have been better. The Wedge Salad fresh. A bit more dressing and bacon would have been perfect! The atmosphere trendy but somewhat unclean.Overall, our experience was delightful in the hands of Joey! Thank you again for your recommendation!Ms. FancyGoogle Reviewer8 million + picture views

Brianne: We went on a Friday night when they were busy and had an even going on. You would not have been able to tell they were slammed. Service was amazing, food was amazing, everyone was friendly.Would 100% go back here for special occasions

barry_for_food: It's a good place to have dinner after watching the football game.Seafood is highly recommended!

Kelli Moser: were excellent and could be eaten as an appetizer or a main dish and add a la cart sides or save room for their delicious desserts. Their fresh baked sourdough rolls were amazing! Perfect crisp on top but soft and fluffy inside. The adult beverages were excellent but the Village was my favorite. I had the black cod another day, a cheeseburger another. My favorite dessert was the maple cheesecake with sour cream ice cream. It had only a hint of actual maple flavor instead of the overwhelming fake maple that other places use. It wasn't overly sweet and paired perfectly with the twang of the sour cream ice cream. Their bread pudding was delightful and quite large. I did enjoy the key lime pie even though it wasn't as traditional as what you would get in Florida. The servers were all very friendly and attentive without being bothersome. I highly recommend you check it out if you are a foodie. If you are sensitive to salt, they do sprinkle it on several items like the bread, butter and even the bread pudding so please let them know in advance if you can't tolerate salt. Everything was seasoned perfectly for me.Dietary restrictions: I was able to enjoy several meals here even with a shellfish allergy. My allergy is severe so normally I'm wary of seafood places. I enjoyed every meal including several fish options without issues.

P Russell: was excellent. I recommend this place!!

TJ Stevens: were without a doubt the best that I've ever had. I could have eaten ten, they were seriously that good.Garlic shrimp was cooked to perfection and the sauce had an insane depth of flavor.Every bite of the lobster mac was full of lobster. All in all the food couldn't have tasted any better. Having said that, the prices are still a little ridiculous for the portion sizes.

Stacey King: I was tempted by the fish and chips with Chilean sea bass which sounds like the most decadent fish and chips possible! Very nice staff, sparkling setting right on the harbor. What a treat.

Paul McNally: I recommend reservations if going for dinner. We called 45 min ahead & arrived at 615pm. Our table was ready. While there were at least 3 parties waiting for tables. We both had the 2 piece fish & chips. It's was a perfect amount along with the bread service. Everything was cooked perfectly, service was great. We passed on appetizers & dessert this time around. We'll go again.

ChEng Ergo: I visited this location to celebrate my birthday and I was craving seafood. David, my server, was extremely friendly and made me feel like family and recommended the Kumamoto Oysters. I mainly came there for fish and chips but the oyters paired with their habanero and cilantro dip was a flavor that ruined cocktail sauce for me forever. My fish and chips were very good but I recommend not squeezing the lemon directly on it because the batter will soak it up. Overall, I think this was a good seafood restaurant with a decent sized menu.

Top of the Market - San Diego: what do users think?

Deborah DeLisi: . It was flavorful, moist, and bursting with freshness and tanginess, devoid of the heavy breadcrumb filler that plagues lesser versions. One bite was simply not enough—I found myself yearning for seconds! For the main course, I chose the scallop entree, and it was also exquisite. Each scallop was a testament to freshness and skillful preparation. Accompanied by fried mushrooms that defy description—reminiscent of shoestring potatoes but with an earthy twist—every component of the dish was executed flawlessly. The sheer size of the scallops left me unable to finish all four—a testament to their generous proportions. The Brussels sprouts were a revelation in themselves, showcasing Chef James' mastery of flavors and textures. Against a backdrop of crisp white linens and an extensive wine selection, the dining experience exuded an air of sophistication and elegance. Our server, Jonas, guided us through the menu with expert knowledge and attentiveness, offering great recommendations that enhanced our meal. And let's not forget the breathtaking views—the sight of sailboats gliding across the water lent an enchanting ambiance to an already unforgettable meal. When making your reservation, be sure it's for Top of the Market, and not the more casual Fish Market downstairs. Despite the hour-long drive, I'm already eagerly anticipating my next visit to Top of the Market.Parking: Valet parking in front of the restaurant is $15 for 3 hours, which is reasonable for a busy area.

troy grote: Ruth Chris screwed up our reservationAnd I called top of the market last min on a Friday night. The manager sneaked us in , she even gave us a table with the best view. Service was on point he was an excellent server. Food was greatIt was my wife’s 53rd birthday and our 30th anniversary

Khalid: Took my wife here for our anniversary, and the experience was impeccable.First, we reserved a table for the outdoor deck, but due to rain I called in advanced worried about our table. I found out they had already moved us inside to the indoor 'balcony'.While I was on the phone, Susan asked me if I'd like to have the menu customized. Thinking it was something small - I said of course. When we arrived to the restaurant, we were greeted with an anniversary card and our menus were titled with our names, wishing us a happy anniversary. It was lovely! While waiting for our food, my wife was getting a bit cold from a draft. Susan quickly made an adjustment to stop the draft, but then also brought my wife a blanket just in case.Lastly, the actual food was incredible. Our server Sam made great recommendations and was incredibly friendly. Our dinner included the crab cake, surf and turf special, and the halibut - all incredible. For dessert, we were stuck selecting an option, but were suddenly surprised with a gift of the smores cake from the team at Top of the Market, for our special event.Truly a great experience - I'll be looking for any excuse to return.

Karina Contreras: If you are thinking about celebrating your anniversary, this is the place, they are the most attentive, full of details. We celebrated our 26 years there watching the sun go down, it was beautiful. We made a reservation for the anniversary and they treated us like kings. Thank you very much, family, it is a beautiful memory!!! 💜💜 Salvador &karina

YH Wang: The atmosphere and meals are very goodIf the weather is cold, it is better to sit inside!

David: Great food, service and views. The octopus was the standout dish.Recommended dishes Grilled Spanish Octopus …

Manuel Garcia: My wife and I went to La Jolla for an early dinner. We heard about Eddie V's and decided to try it. We looked at the Menu and noticed it was still Happy Hour. We sat at the bar, big comfortable seatsWe had a Beautiful View of the La Jolla Beach and Coast area. We had the mini Filet Mignon hamburgers. Very Good. Calamari was the Best we've ever had and plenty. Crab Cake was bountiful and Very Good. The Cosmopolitan Martini we're the Best we've ever had. Seriously. It was so Refreshing. Plan on going back again soon. Bartenders are Excellent.

McKenna Granger: Last night, my family and friends celebrated my birthday and my friends’ upcoming wedding. Chris was our waiter and he made our entire experience phenomenal. He is hands down the best waiter I’ve ever had. He was massively helpful, patient, and did everything possible to make our experience special. The food was also lovely and the drinks were fabulous. We are originally from Colorado and just visiting, but now anytime I am in California I will make it a point to come to La Jolla and see Chris. Thank you for the wonderful evening!

Noura Alkhalifa: The restaurant is amazing in terms of location and food.. Their service is 10/10, honesty, we succeeded in it. We were served by a man named Eric, who was very nice and helpful. The thing I loved most was the mac and cheese 👌🏼And the dessert is delicious and they gave it to us for free after that💕

Crystal Fitpold: I don't even have words for the amazing experience! The food and drinks were fantastic. The Mac and cheese was especially yummy. Nothing could compare to the location though! The view was magical. We got to watch the sea lions on the cove from our table - it was a highlight of my trip to the area. I would've paid extra for that view! Service was very nice, but not very fast. That was fine by me as it gave more time to enjoy the view!

Melvina Selfani: Eddi Vs is such an elegant delicious fine dining. I highly recommend it. Great service and great atmosphere and amazing customer service. Good food selections and wonderful bread and butter before dinner or lunch.Vegetarian options: Nice choices.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible.

Erik Jimenez: Great views, food and service.

H G: Been here a few different times in the last 3 years, its always a good experience and great food. Two occasions have been for a birthday, each time they've decorated the table and had a birthday card ready with complimentary champagne to start and dessert at the end of the meal. On one occasion I requested a table by the window, but it was dark and couldn't really see much. Other occasions we've taken a booth, which is way more comfortable than the chairs near the window. Ordered the kung pao calamari as an appetizer, a lot bigger than expected and delicious. The crab fried rice was not very good, didn't seem cooked all the way, but the truffled macaroni and cheese was the best mac n cheese I've ever tasted. My go to is the Ribeye, perfectly char on the outside and pink and flavorful on the inside. I typically get a Smoked Old Fashion. The very first time visiting this location the server put on a show burning a plank at the table and smoking the glass. Instances after that have not been the same, but the drink is still smoky and delicious. My date got a mule that came in a small glass with lots of ice, hardly any mule, it was sad. I've had some good wines recommended by staff as well. The servers are courteous, knowledgeable, and they aim to please. Parking is not a problem, but not always close either. They have a valet service for a few $ more than the cost of public parking and worth it if you dont want to walk a few blocks. Its fine dining, but the dress code seems relaxed and people bring kids as well. On one occasion a drunk couple were seated next to us, they were loud and obnoxious. We ignored them, but it was surprising that they were seated in the first place.

Gaslamp Fish House: what do users think?

Joann SINI: Don't understand why there are bad reviews. We enjoyed this place immensely. Everything we ordered was so delicious and uniquely made. We sat at the bar and ate which was an amazing choice because the bartender Jesse was very social and helpful with the menu. Loved this place and the staff. The owner actually came over and was very friendly also. It's a great choice if visiting san diego. ..

Jennifer Sandoval: This was my first visit to the Gaslamp Fish House last Saturday. My overall experience was good, not great, but not bad either. I had the Cajun Shrimp which had good flavor, the rice served with it was bland and not enough of the sauce from the shrimp to mix it with. The best part of my experience was great service by Luke. He was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. My friend and I appreciated his recommendations. The second best part was the bread pudding, it was delicious. I would be back for the service and bread pudding! Thank you Luke 😊

Carmen: I recently dined at the Gaslamp Fish House and had a mixed experience that I feel compelled to share. Let's break it down:Service: Luke, our server, was exceptional. He was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. Luke's professionalism and warm demeanor truly enhanced our dining experience.Staff Appearance: While Luke was dressed impeccably, I couldn't help but notice that some other staff members didn't quite meet the same standard. Consistency in appearance among staff can contribute to the overall atmosphere and impression of a restaurant.Food Delivery: Unfortunately, our experience was marred by mistakes in food delivery. We were first offered an incorrect order and were able to tell the food server. When our main course was delivered, one was correct and placed. However, when the food server went to place the second dish, it was wrong. We were served another tables order. This hiccup in the delivery process was disappointing and caused a wait for our second meal.Overall Impression: Despite the food delivery mishap and inconsistency in staff appearance, Gaslamp Fishouse offers a promising dining experience. With a standout server like Luke, who exemplified professionalism and attentiveness, there is potential for an excellent dining experience. However, improvements in food delivery accuracy and staff presentation would elevate the overall experience.

Marc Bohol: The food was great and satisfying.Kid-friendliness: Kids are always welcome you.Wheelchair accessibility: O ya plenty of room.

Grace Burch: Amazing food. I'd like to call it a hidden gem but turns out it's been there for quite a while and I always get recommended by the locals to go there. There's plenty of seating. I like that there are big wrap around booths. Plenty of seating like tables by an indoor fireplace, bar seating, and best of all there's balcony seating overlooking the bay. Beautiful view !
