Janet Murphy (Chilipepper): Akkad has excellent Iraqi food. They make a delicious bread, amazing Mantee, Bamia...The restaurant is very cared for and simple. It's in a strip mall with parking usually right in front. I did not give 5 stars only because the service can be a little slow. I am fine with this- it's family doing almost everything.
Anas Al-Qazzaz: Authentic home cooking. Iraqi street food is shared all over the middle east. Home cooking is more unique and you can experience it at this restaurant
Adel Kattea: Good food, nice people
Roy Rizk: The food was really good and also there’s this guy i think his name is ibrahim he was really respectful and knows how to talk with the customers! Best restaurant

adriana tapia: This was my second time being here and I wish I could upload my video of the delicious food that was served. The food was amazing. I devoured it. I had the sirloin steak with rice and salad. The steak was cooked to perfection and everything was delectable. The ambiance was very relaxing. I do miss the pianist from the first time I came but everything was still wonderful. The cherry on top was the service. Victor is such a wonderful waiter. He made sure that I was satisfied with everything. He was very helpful with explaining the dishes and helping me pick exactly what I was craving. Wonderful service with a giant smile. I will definitely be back! Thank you for everything Victor!
Devdav Newar: A great Persian restaurant in Los Angeles. We came here for an authentic meal and everything tasted delicious. We all got some hot tea to begin with. The servers were so welcoming and knowledgeable about the food choices. We got a family combo for persian kebabs and the flavours were great and the meat cooked to perfection. We also got vegan kebabs that tasted just like meat. We also got a sour cherry pulao with chicken. The rice tasted amazing. The chicken was juicy and tender. Their service is commendable and everyone is so warm. For dessert we got the saffron pistachio and rose ice cream and the lemon tart. Both desserts were amazing. Definitely recommend this place if you are looking for an authentic experience. This place is also open for breakfast with a great selection of omelettes, pancakes and some traditional Persian dishes.
John Tanner: They have a few vegan options. Their Impossible-based kebabs were great. The kebab bowl is a lot of food. No need to order the more expensive kebab plate. The restaurant is on the expensive side. With appetizers, drinks, and tip, it ran us about $40 per person and if we had added desserts it would have been more. The name Javan is the Persian word for young. Their menu has nothing to do with the island of Java.Vegetarian options: Some really good vegetarian and vegan options.
Shoeleh Di Julio: We had a baby shower this weekend at our house. Alex, the owner and the manager delivered the food and set it up for us. He is a wonderful gentleman. This was by far the best Persian food we have ever eaten. It is prepared with the best quality ingredients and very meticulously. I am a good cook myself and can really appreciate Javan restaurant’s food. Our guests fought over the leftovers.Vegetarian options: The stew dishes can bee prepared as vegetarians and the appetizers were all vegetarian.
