The campsite is located on the Kaweah River in the foothills of central California's Sierra Nevada Mountains.
The campsite offers flush toilets, showers, and a dump station. Additionally, there are weekend programs held from May to September in the campsite's amphitheater.
The campsite operates from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. during peak season (Memorial Day to Labor Day) and from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. during non-peak season. The gate closes at 10 p.m. during peak season and at 9 p.m. during non-peak season.
Near the campsite, visitors can enjoy boating, water skiing, and sailing on Kaweah Lake. There are also horse and walking trails available during low water, and anglers can fish for largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill, catfish, and rainbow trout.
Visitors can explore Sequoia National Park, which is just 11 miles away from the campsite. The park is home to the Giant Forest Grove and the General Sherman Tree, the world's largest tree in volume. Additionally, visitors can access Kings Canyon and view America's Christmas Tree, The General Grant Tree.
