4worldlovers: My name is Michael Moore and I am honored to serve as your principal here at Excelsior’s North Victorville site.

Looking back at myself as a student in high school: I, in all honesty, did not embrace education! A big part of my personal “resilience” was my own high school experience. Too often, I met teachers who discouraged me by looking at misses rather than successes; Teachers who were stressing failure rather than helping me thrive. Instead of proving those teachers wrong, I gave in and fulfilled their prophecies.

My life changed after graduation: Through trade school and my apprenticeship, I found a passion. I realized that I was good at something. I excelled!

Something similar happened when I moved to the United States and started my academic journey. A journey that not only opened my eyes to the power of education, but a journey that made me find my new passion: Educational success for all students!

My philosophy is simple: Encourage students and help them find their passion(s) by making students thrive!

Michael developed his sense of attention to detail as an electrician (journeyman) in Germany. In 2006, he moved to the United States where his academic journey included VVC (Child Development), CSUSB (Communication Studies / Public Relations), and Brandman University (Teaching Credential in English and Social Science).

Michael has been supporting Excelsior’s families since 2014. As a junior and a senior facilitator at the Victorville campus, he has taught 11th and 12th grade English and ERWC as well as Government, Economics, and Psychology. He moved on to serve as Dean of Students for Excelsior’s Victorville Campus, and in the spring of 2021, Michael moved into North VV campus’ principal’s office.

Michael is a strong believer in the ability of every student to learn and achieve. He provides students with a supportive learning environment and an It-can-be-done! attitude!
