Luan Marco: I stayed at the Hostel for 5 days, and the comment to be made is: Simply Sensational.I went on vacation with my wife, and we liked everything, we have nothing to complain about.The initial service provided by Mr. Bruno was impeccable, the other Hostel employees were always very polite and helpful, everything was very clean and organized.We stayed in a private room with bathroom, the view from the room was incredible, facing the pier.Very well located, almost on the beach, great restaurants, bars, markets, everything you need.We will be back more often.

Russell Franke: This was a great spot. The staff were awesome! Very very helpful. Kudos to them. The kitchen was small but perfect for the self made breakfast they provide. The bathrooms were spotless. This was my first Hostel stay and I loved it. The location....wow. The bar next door does have live bands on the weekends but the hostel gives you ear plugs if you need them. I was unbothered by it. Daily events were a nice touch.
Ryan “Pathfinder” Joe: Need a place to sleep so I could get up early a d run the coast. This place was perfect. It can be loud in the rooms due to a live music in the Mar below. I'm a US military vet so the sound didn't bother me one bit. Can't say the same for others plan accordingly. Also parking is difficult. There's free parking somewhere nearby. I never found it. I parked at Redondo beach pier a d paid for the night. Its. 1.8 mile walk to Hermosa. Again nothing that bothers me, you I can't speak for. Are TV was not working the entire time of are stay. Friday Saturday checked out Sunday. It was good we used are cell phones and laptops to watch movies. When you have a kid with you. They serve free breakfast it was nice .Safety: The rooms are on the second level and the parking is on 1st level.Food & drinks: They have well stock chips cups of soup and more snacks In the machine. They also have a ATM machine right as you get off elevator on the second floor. It's a Great place

De Hern: This was my first time staying in a hostel so i wasnt sure what to expect. Manager was really nice when I called him for questions. The night security was very welcoming! The other guests kept to themselves and no weirdos were around. I felt safe in the room. 4/5 stars because of parking. It fills up fast around the area and I had to walk a block and a half AT NIGHT. Room and general area was clean. The price was super affordable. I would definitely come back.Rooms: Bunk beds were a little squeaky. The beds and rooms stayed and good temp. I was not uncomfortable. I liked that the bathroom was in the room itself. I disnt know it didnt come with toilet paper.

cynthia's toys: I stay here alot. The majority of the staff is helpful. The Maids are throughly clean. I feel safe. Refrigerator, Mico, coffee pot. As a female traveler you need to feel safe. Lots of restaurants, and activities close by, including shopping. Naoki TATSUMI: I always stay here when I travel to Los Angeles. It seems like it's been updated little by little every time I come, so I look forward to it every time. It's a shame that we had to pay for the continental breakfast, but I'm very satisfied with the convenience of having everything nearby, the safety, and the location with good transportation links and the ability to go anywhere.

Matthew Wright: The hotel was clean but dated for alot of things in the room. It was great having a kitchen though for being there a while for work. The front desk was great to help when we had hotels website issues. The pools heater was broken the entire time which sucked because it was chilly when we were there but the hot tub was hot. Will be staying here again.Rooms: The furniture was dated, the couch has Rios and such. The desk chair if you leaned back at all would also go completely backward and was uncomfortable.Noteworthy details: It was great to finish the night around a fire place outdoors.

Steve Peterson: Rooms are somewhat dated, but generally clean and there wasnt much road noise. The air-conditioning is not easily controlled, and the room was a bit warm and a bit humid. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The location is close to Dignity Health Park and only about 20minutes from LAX. Also, found a few great SE Asian resturants in the vicinity. All in all, I'd stay here again if the nightly price stays in the mid to upper $100's... Definately wouldn't pay over $200 given the age, average condition, amenities, etc.

I've been in and out of hotels the past 9 months, and I can tell you that for the money, you will get more here than most of the country. I wrote this April 12, 2024. This place is very clean. The staff is very friendly, accommodating, and professional. And apparently good enough for a continuous Japanese clientele. I an sold, and telling all my friends visiting Los Angeles, California that they should DEFINITELY CONSIDER REDAC GATEWAY HOTEL ON WESTERN AVE!!!
Liz Lm: I love this hotel!!! We went there in 2018 and I can still remember that I enjoyed this place. It’s just a small hotel but it’s very comfortable. To me, they serve the best breakfast. I’m Asian so I love rice, bacon and salmon but they also have the typical American breakfast like cereal, bagel and others. Oh and this is the only hotel I know that have bidets in their toilet, how cool.😎 LOL. If we go back to California, we will definitely stay here again. 😊

Maybe it was my weekend I went, but the room faced the outside courtyard area, and they had some sort of business or team selling perfume and similar items.One other thing I wish they had, would be a microwave in the room. They only have one downstairs in the lobby. Overall, it was not a bad stay, but I enjoyed it here and would stay again.
Lori: I was pleasantly surprised but the cozy feeling this hotel has captured. I stayed for a week for a business trip and I'd definitely stay here again. The staff is friendly and kind. The rooms are comfortable and cozy. The courtyard is fabulous! I spent most evenings enjoying the fireplaces and comfortable seating after a long day of working. The hotel is secure with a gated entrance. The water pressure and hot water is better than any other hotel I've stayed at. This is by far better than a Marriott. My work will be using this for their main hotel going forward. The experience has been outstanding.
Michael Renk: I wouldn't call it a hotel. It's more like a glorified motel because there's no interior introduce to your room. Everything is on the outside like a motel. Plus they don't have breakfast. I would say that's kind of a downside for this type of place. But they have a restaurant next door that you can order breakfast and get a discount on. They do offer coffee, tea and water 24/7. And even have a self-serve bar that you can make mixed drinks through. I didn't see the machine in operation but it looks pretty cool. The staff was extremely courteous and welcoming, a special shout out to Josna Bien-Aime, who always had a smile on her face as she answered my numerous questions. My room was extremely clean and quiet. Complimentary coffee and tea along with a limited pay bar service was nice. The courtyard with an evening fire pit was a wonderful place to relax with a beverage.Noteworthy details: Would definitely stay here again. Guests who gathered around the fire pit were friendly and welcoming. Says a lot about their clientele.
