Brooke Ann: Let’s say it together: Traditional. No sugar sauces or flavorless fish. It’s an experience. Now there’s a way to muddle your way through the menu in a mass sushi kinda way but here one must give in to the menu. We sat at the sushi bar and had an amazing meal with buttery fish and flavors beyond explanation. Now this kind of experience comes with a price tag but if you’re over the bland grind and want an escape that’s just next door, this is where you can accomplish it.
sos p: Finally stopped by, recommended by keith. We tried so many sushi over last 30 years including 3 michelin stars in Japan.Usually never make to-go sushi but wife was waiting for me at home.Ordered 7 different sushi that we always get. Packed nicely and labeled.Used red sushi rice vinegar that high end use. Very surprisingly delight and enjoyed each piece. Can’t wait to dine-in. Thank you.
Christian Hatch: This place is as authentic as it gets in Ventura County. The head chef is incredibly nice, although also traditional. If you are looking for incredible sushi or hard to find quality and service, this is the place. I am currently learning Japanese and every employee at Kanda gets extremely excited when I speak it. This place is such an amazing environment, please go there. Only warning I can give is the sushi is very traditional, don’t try to order special rolls or bathe your food in sauce.
Michael Shea: First time eating here - among the best sushi restaurants I have eaten at. Authentic Japanese experience - not an Amercianized experience with sauces and specialized rolls. My friends and I went with the omakase, and every piece of fish was a unique flavor experience. Many of the varieties of fish available were direct from Japan and not found at other places I've been - barracuda was a highlight. The service at the sushi bar was perfect. Highly recommend.
Jarrett Berl: First time here based on a recommendation and I was blown away at their quality. Super fresh, mouth watering, it just melts. Everything the chef recommended was spot on. They have real wasabi too. Love the miso. Great service filling up my tea. 10/10. By far the best quality sushi anywhere around. Not a place for rolls, or lots of sauce. This is authentic real Japanese.
Jay Myers: We've known Mitsu for over 30 years and he has the freshest sushi we've ever eaten. Kanda Sushi is a must for great food. An absolute gem.
E T: If you want the REAL Japanese Sushi, this is your choice!! There are some sushi which you can’t even find in Japan. As a Japanese, I can assure and recommend here.I stopped by by chance, and they had a lot of ingredients purchased from Japan, and they were all delicious. There were also rare fish such as black-throated blackthroat.I would like to come again in the future for celebrations and special occasions ^_^
Ric Wallace: Excellent sushi with a talented chef. Make no mistake, this is legit Japanese cuisine and a cut above the average sushi bar.First, the chef had fresh selections on hand that aren’t common for average restaurants. He was doing Amaebi and fresh Uni, as well as multiple types of premium tuna. This type of quality is getting harder and harder to find. If you love sushi, you should support places like this that are producing authentic Japanese cuisine using traditional ingredients.Friendly and talented chef.✅Impressive selection ✅Noodles and Veg options ✅Great saki list! ✅
Enna Zilberman: Love this place! My friend and I had best sushi ever. Fish was super fresh, plates looked creative and It was Delicious! Can’t wait to go back.
