At Sunday Friends, we work to ensure that all families in the Bay Area have the fundamental building blocks to achieve mobility from poverty.

People are out of work and prices for food and the basic essentials are at an all time high and rent rates are on the rise.

Families crave the information to make better informed financial decisions on where to spend and save every dollar.

Children need the education and mentorship to close the gap from remote learning. It is imperative that everyone has the skills in an increasingly digital era to confidently communicate and advocate what they need to get and stay ahead.

Volunteers can help us with in-person, online, and remote opportunities such as food distribution, virtual class support, and snack pack assembly.

We are a unique organization in that we encourage families to volunteer together. Children of any age are welcome to volunteer with supervision and teens age 13 and up are welcome to volunteer on their own.

If you are looking to complete school hours, serve as part of a group, engage your employees in meaningful outreach opportunities, or simply support a community in need, Sunday Friends is the place to go.

From seasonal opportunities to Annual Sustainers Sponsorships, we have opportunities for companies of all sizes.

One of the big ways we support our community is by providing Basic Necessities twice a month.

StandUp for Kids - Silicon Valley was launched in 2008 with our mentoring program and in 2013 we opened our Outreach Center and launched our Street Outreach program. In February of 2023 we closed our outreach center, and hit the streets to reach youth where they are with our core programs:

Street outreach goes out several times a month to bring The Village to them by canvassing the streets in search of homeless youth and letting them know that there are caring adults who are concerned about their well-being and want to see them safe and successful. We provide vital information regarding available resources to meet their needs, provide food, clothing and hygiene products.

Our mentoring program offers creation of individual life plans to help each kid meet their specific personal goals for a fulfilled, sustained, and independent future off the streets, including education support, job training, job search skills and whatever else our kids need to be successful.

Our housing support enables us to work 1:1 with youth to assist them in finding a place off the streets, such as renting a room, apartment or into a housing program. We stay by their side through the whole process, establishing the skills to maintain a home and through their first year and a half to ensure they are self-sufficient for a life of independence.

Youth homelessness rates are on the rise. All of our programs have the overall goal of leading homeless youth to self-sufficiency and a life off the streets.

We do this with our strong volunteer group, our supportive community and through individual’s caring enough to make a difference. Your donated time, resources, and money in support of our mission has made us stronger than ever.

Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley has been proudly serving Santa Clara County’s neighbors in need with essential, no-cost home repairs for more than 30 years.

Thousands of neighbors in need received life-changing support to live more independently at home.

Volunteers banded together to give 400,000 hours and affect real change in their local communities.

Critical and safety repairs completed to improve health and safety across the greater Silicon Valley.

Private and in-kind contributions addressed the local housing crisis and preserve affordable housing for generations to come.
