Danny Thornton: After taking our Jag to Wheel Works for an oil change and a lifetime alignment, I had to take it to Leale's because of the incompetence of the service adviser at Wheel Works.When there is an issue with a vehicle, the advisor is supposed to point it out. Every time I would ask, he would mumble something and walk away. So, instead of dealing with incompetence, I sought out a better option. Leale's was within walking distance and was able to get the car in quickly. Little did I know the true issues with the car.When I purchased this car, I bought an extended warranty through CarMax, and I am so glad now. The car had a lot of "little" issues that turned out to be expensive issues because it is a Jag, and the warranty requires Jag parts.Jim and Tyler were both fantastic. Jim spearheaded the conversations with the car warranty company, and he got more than 80% of the repairs covered. While it took longer than I would have liked, that is another issue with owning a Jag.So, let me say it this way. If you have an issue with your car, regardless of the make or model, call these guys. They are phenomenal, and they will take good care of you. We are now customers for life.

I talked to Jim and he asked me to bring the car in for checking. I brought my car to Jim's shop.I called back to check on status in the afternoon. Jerry Hong: My 2001 Town&Country transmission had a breakdown. Other shops I called said I have to wait for some time. Jim from Leale's Transmissions took it immediately to diagnose. They found the TCM is the problem but they cannot find the part because my van is too old. I found one on eBay. Jim let me take the van back home without charging me while I was waiting for shipping. Sergio Diaz: I highly recommend Mike’s Transmission if you have a transmission issue. I unfortunately had issues with the transmission in my 2013Ford Edge and most repair shops didnt give me much options but to replace the transmission which is really expensive. I called Mike’Transmission and they were helpful since day one. Thanks to Rene for always keeping me updated. Happy to get my car back.

Right away I noticed they had more experience than just about any place in the area. Renee was super nice and they laid everything out over the phone. Dropped my truck off and they had it ready within a satisfactory amount of time. Everything was satisfactory I've had the truck back now for 2 days and it drives perfectly a lot better than it did. Turned out my truck needed a rebuild, and they kept me updated along the way. My truck was there 10 days due to parts, but that was pretty good because Ford siad it was going to be at least a month. Truck is running better than ever and I'm super stoked and thankful, highly recommend!

John Lee: Mike's shop is one of the few shops in the bay area that really are trustworthy. He's been here forever, and his experience level shows it. Yet despite his level of expertise I would say he's incredibly reasonable in terms of pricing. Highly recommend.
Robert Jarrett: another me had had told me my daughter's transmission was shot but I took it to Mikes and it was just something sticking on the torque converter because the fluid had never been changed. Basically returned her to fully functional for less than $200. KNOWING that these guys are HONESTLY diagnosing your transmission issues and solving them for the actual cost is so reassuring that I now will not let a bad transmission end a cars life if I like the car even if they advise total replacement. People know they are the best so there is an approximate week long wait to get your car in and they don't have parking for everybody on the wait-list so you need to book an appointment and get the car there exactly when the apt is and then pick it up immediately when they are done. That's reality so go with it and you've got 'your guy" when it comes to transmissions.

Romeo Valdez: Sergio was super nice when since the start. My clutch was getting stuck towards the bottom of the pedal. I called and he picked up when they were closed, he was still there and offered to check in with me then. He said it was okay if I left the car and so I did. The day after I called and he said he didn’t feel the problem I was having and so he didn’t want to sell me a part I didn’t need. But I reassured him the only part I hadn’t replaced was the clutch slave cylinder. He was very cool and got it done for me the next day around 3pm. Genuine guy that won’t take advantage of clientele. Definitely coming back if I need transmission work.

Holli M: This is the second time that my dad and I have used Bob's Almaden Transmission. The first time around was a few years ago when the automatic transmission went out on our 94 Chevy Blazer. We were so satisfied with the results of the Chevy that we came back when the manual transmission on my 05 Mazda 3 went out. Bob and Candace were knowledgeable, incredibly helpful, and flexible when it came to finding a time to work on and pick up my car. He also put a new clutch in my car and it's like night and day compared to my old clutch. Thank you Bob and Candace and if I ever need transmission help, I know who to go to!

Ilan Krashinsky: I went today to Dan’s auto repair shop and it’s no longer Dan’s, it’s I believe A+ auto repair shop and a new owner. The bottom line is that the service was absolutely great. I brought my car for replacement of the rear drum type brakes on my 2006 Toyota Camry. Fernando initially quoted $225 for the job however, upon looking at the brakes told me that the brakes are still good and there was no need to replace them, only to clean them which definitely was the case and charged me only $50. Fernando did a really thorough cleaning job. I will definitely use them again 👍👏

Joe Raposo: Aldo and his team saved the day with my Ford Ranger! Gearmaster did an amazing job replacing the clutch and rebuilding the differential/rear axle. He even fixed the shifter bushings and installed a shifter boot for free! Long story short, I bought a lemon truck from a shyster on FB Marketplace and the truck needed the rear axle/differential rebuilt and a new clutch. I was furious, but the experience with Aldo and the work that they did and helping me with the shifter boot/bushings, made me feel much better! I feel safe driving the truck now and t runs like a champ! Thanks Aldo!

Scott Frey: The guys at Gearmaster are really great. Total gear heads that are passionate about cars and trucks. I had them install new air lockers and gears into my front and rear axle for my jeep. They turned them around quite fast and when I had ordered the incorrect part for the, they were able to get the replacement in quickly so I could get the axles under my jeep in time for an offroad trip. I've been thrashing the axles for the last few months on rock crawling trails and they've held up great.
Roger Griffith: I wasn't able to actually get the work done here because the car dealer was so backed up in getting transmissions to Aldo. He did not even charge me for diagnosing the problem and wished me well as I left. Aldo is a good man, honest, and has 43 years experience. Highly recommend!
JJ Hernan: I took my car to various shops due to. A transmission problem. I even had the transmission swapped and it still presented the same problems. So I was recommended to go to gear master and they found the issue. It turned out to be an issue with a wire harness. They fixed it within a few hours. I highly recommend them they are good and honest people.
Mace D: transmission went out after only 70K miles. Aldo and his team at Gearmaster rebuilt it and it now has 229,000 miles on it ,160,000 more than the original transmission. Unconditional Love: . They noticed my tire pressure light was on and filled my tires up to the safety standards for free and did not even tell me that's how caring and helpful they are here! I brought my own oil as well and they used that and returned the remaining oil bottle that wasn't used. Very honest and fast service at the best price that I've found in San Jose. I was on a trip back home and had a 3 hour drive ahead of me and had he not helped me out, I wouldn’t have made it home and blew my transmission. He got me in and out in hour. Brian Tanaka: My truck wasn’t shifting right and then the check engine light came on. I was pretty sure I was going to need a new transmission or a rebuild.They were able to diagnose the problem was only a couple sensors. I really appreciate the honest work.
David Fish: Went to get my front brake rotors resurfaced on a lowered car with aftermarket wheels: Friendly staff, decent turnover time, competitive labor rates, used correct practices for tightening important nuts and bolts. I wasn't sure about how my brembo brake calipers were left hanging on the brake hoses, but I suspect they didn't want to damage the finish. 4 stars only because I would like to not see my rubber brake lines being supported by my heavy brake calipers, but I'll give credit where it's due as far as putting care into my car looks the same coming out as it did going in. They even bed in the brake pads a little before I left, which not all places have done for me. I would consider coming back for more future maintenance visits.
